5 stars +++++ This is a top notch location, with great service and beautiful rooms. Accommodations are very comfortable and exceptional in all ways. The huge plus is the three before hours/after hours tours I participated in. The zookeepers were all extremely knowledgeable and it was just super fun doing the after hours tours and getting to get different looks at the animals and insider stories knowledge about animals. Breakfast was very nice. I loved the city skyline views. And I loved loved seeing koalas directly from my room. Amazing experience!

Amazing stay inside the Sydney zoo in beautiful accommodations. Will made our stay extra special! He checked us in and explained how our tours worked and showed us the spectacular property. The zoo keepers were great and we loved everything about this experience! Staying at this hotel was a highlight of our 3 week vacation in Australia!

One of the best experiences I had in Australia. The hotel was really chic (by my standards), the staff were super nice. To start with the rooms, super well designed and I loved the fact that the windows opened to the koalas (could hear them snoring at night). The tablet provided in the room gave me ample reading material. The breakfast menu was a bit limited but super tasty and kudos to the barista on 3 Dec, the hot chocolate was super nice. The restaurant and lobby had great views of Sydney as well. But the highlight for me was the tour through the sanctuary. Was really insightful getting a personal tour with Amanda (sorry if I misremembered your name, I was the guy asking if camels were local to Australia, they are not). Having 2 days direct access to the zoo was really nice too, being able to avoid the crowds. My only regret was to only spend a night here. Will definitely visit again, if my wallet allows it.

This is a must stay place if you are visiting from far away and love animals. You get an incredible view of the Sidney Harbour, and the private sanctuary with Koalas and other Australian marsupials, right outside your window! You get to tour the sanctuary in the afternoon and the zoo before it opens to the public in the morning. The dinner and the breakfast was excellent as well.

Amazing stayed at The Zoo! Bushland room facing kangaroo sanctuary! We will be back, my 2yo son loved it! Honorary mention for front desk and management team that allow me to stay, eventhough I accidentally choice the wrong dates without additional fee. It's pure hospitality and non profit organization. Thank you!

Incredible stay! We loved the night tour at the zoo and the tour of the sanctuary. Best part was seeing a koala and Echidna outside our window. We would highly recommend staying at this retreat. We did the zoo all day but it was nice taking a break from the heat and regrouping at the retreat. The staff were wonderful and really looked after us, which we appreciated. We hope to return someday. Casey & Tom

We had a wonderful stay at the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga Zoo offering luxurious accommodation with stunning views of the harbour. The exclusive access to the zoo after hours was a much welcome perk. Not to mention the top quality service provided by all staff, as well as a very efficient check in/out process. A highly unique and recommended experience for kids and adults!

For a family or couple this is a great and unique way to see the zoo! You rooms look out on a wildlife area and your room key allows you come and go access to the zoo. I’d recommend checking in mid afternoon and taking both included tours - one in the wildlife area outside your room and the other in the zoo after hours. That would set you up to plan a full day the next day with the option of a second night or to continue home or you holiday. The welcome was amazing and the front desk staff were over the top helpful. The in house restaurant has amazing views of Sydney harbor as does the lobby/bar/deck area.
