New Sushi Cart Yoshi’s Stuns in Multnomah Village | Eater Portland

"Now settled into new digs at Base Camp Brewing, Wild North will reintroduce its sought-after brunch on March 17, with the star being the Donut Benny — a cart-made glazed donut topped with Dungeness crab, a poached egg, and a thyme-brown-butter hollandaise." - Joy Church

Vote Now for Portland’s Food Cart of the Year | Eater Portland

"A visit to this Cartlandia spot proves that a good enough chef can successfully pull off fine(ish) dining in a food cart; I go for dishes like foie gras mousse puffs, seared duck breast with barley risotto, and smoked chocolate custard." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Meet Portland’s New Nose-To-Tail Food Cart | Eater Portland

"There’s a meaty, hearty new food cart in town, Wild North, now open at the Cartlandia food cart pod in Southeast Portland. It comes from Minnesota transplants Amelia and Brandon Hughes; Brandon—whose chef experience includes Minneapolis’s Tilia and Travail Kitchen and Amusements—runs the kitchen, and the team is keeping things local (within 100 miles) with creative wood-fired fare. The first menu focuses on lamb and trout, with standout dishes like a lamb merguez with a strawberry glaze and toasted hazelnuts, a whole rainbow trout stuffed with bourbon wild mushrooms and butter-poached radishes, and a lamb roast en croûte; the trout and the roast are just $10. They’re also making their own wood-fired sourdough bread bowls that come with a trout chowder or a lamb shank–split pea soup, and overall it reads as a darn impressive opening menu for a food cart. Wild North is open at the Cartlandia pod (8145 SE 82nd Ave) — 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Tue–Fri, 4–9 p.m. Wed–Fri, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Sat–Sun; closed Mondays." - Tim Forster

Fine Dining Meets Food Cart at This Upcoming Wood-Fired Spot | Eater Portland

"A new food cart called Wild North is headed to the Cartlandia pod on SE 82nd; I’m told the operation is run by Amelia and Brandon Hughes, recently arrived from Minnesota, with chef Brandon bringing experience from two top Minneapolis restaurants. They plan to showcase local fare in a wood-fired oven, aiming to source everything from within 100 miles, and to use a somewhat fine-dining approach to plating while keeping the cart setting casual and approachable. Much of the menu will center on “whole proteins” — nose-to-tail cooking that can include both prime cuts and offal — with the initial offerings focused on lamb and trout and vegetables that will vary seasonally, and the team emphasizes environmental responsibility and sustainability. Expect Wild North to open in the Cartlandia pod sometime in early March." - Tim Forster

Many people in the downtown area were trying to contact this organization to come rescue This Mother Goose who fell off the roof somehow and two of her chicks went with her. They almost got hit by cars but Good Samaritans were trying to stop that. There are at least three chicks that slid down with them and got caught in an awning above the building that nobody could get to. One guy waited out there for 6 hours for them to show up. They were not returning calls. People who did get through were being talked to like they were idiots by a woman on the phone who is telling them leave them alone. I guess those chicks are going to be left alone to die up there. Other Good Samaritans happened to get the geese that were alive and the mother into a park by walking behind them so they wouldn't get run over. This experience gave me some Faith back in humanity but sure didn't give me faith in this organization.

Very helpful and good communication. I was worried about a beautiful black crow in my neighborhood. Brought him in to the center. He was a fledgling and could not fly. I took him back to the neighborhood. I see him often now on the road, alleys and front lawns. Somehow he is ok. They gave me the option to bring him back if he doesn't develop his flying abilities. I will keep a eye on him. Thank you to the society for their help.

They care for injured wild animals and migratory birds. Handoff of patients is quick and you can have confidence that they are receiving appropriate care. There is no cost for service but consider leaving a donation.

Doing good work, dropped off a wild lame duck for them to rehab and decided to leave a donation. Good central location too.

Called about a suspected injured pigeon, they called back quickly and explained what I could do. They were very genuine and kind, even though to some it would be just a pigeon, I didn't feel judged for being concerned about a pigeon. I brought the sad little pigeon in to these lovely people and I'm positive Patty the pigeon will have a bright bread filled future because of them!

Yelp
WILDnorth was an amazing help when we found this injured bird on our property. They specialize in smaller wild animal rescue. Lucky they were able to help our little friend getting him/her an x-ray and pain medication. This business is non-profit veterinary service specialised in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. They are a registered charity and do accept donations. This is an amazing business helping our furry friends get the help they need! A lot of people want to help when they see an injured animal but don't know where to turn. A big thanks to WILDnorth for the amazing service they provide in our community.
