"Some of the smaller venues might not open till June. A few casual food options near the end of the road on the west side come in handy for those who are hungry, but who don’t want to hoof, bike, or shuttle it the mile to “town.” That includes Wild Dogs, a food truck hawking hot dogs, as well as reindeer sausages, at the end of the road by the footbridge and parking lot." - Jeremy Pataky

Ritchie & Emily do such a great job explaining how and what they do and all that goes into raising and taking care of their beautiful dogs. Humble and loving - so eager to share their life love. Do yourself a favor and make the time to go by and check them out.

This tour was perfect from start to finish! Richie and Emily were exceptional guides. They took us on a great ride where we got to see the dogs work their magic. They explained the day to day care and demands of caring for their team and were very thorough with their explanations. We learned all about the process of preparing for the Iditarod. We also had a clear view of Denali as a bonus!

Emily and Ritchie do a great job of explaining how these dogs live and how much they love to run. We knew they liked to run but had no idea how much they look forward to running and pulling. They get crazy excited when they know it's time to run. We had a great time highly recommend.

Had a great time today taking a dog mushing tour. There is plenty of time to get the know the dogs and take pictures. There is also a great informative talk about what goes into a dog mushing race, training, and equipment. Richie and Emily were great hosts and obviously passionate about what they do. Highly recommend taking a tour with them!

Google
Such an amazing Tour and Ride!!! The intimate tour by Emily ans Richie (past and current Mushers for Iditarod and Yukon Quest) gave us such an amazing glimpse into the amount of work and love that goes into raising these dogs and teaching them to be professional racers. Their passion for the sport and for their dogs was so evident and we were so inspired by their story! You will not see any large tour buses here yet this is so easy to get to off the highway coming from or going to Denali national Park. It was great to have all of our questions answered and get to play with the dogs! But really the best part was actually getting pulled by this team of dogs through the beautiful forest and across a river near their property! So worth it to actually feel their strength and see them at work

Richie and Emily were fantastic to meet and learn about their passion. It's off the beaten path, but highly, highly recommended. Learned a ton about sledding. Picked up some cool swag and sponsored one of their retired dogs, I think her name was Wanda.

Had a great time learning about dog mushing and doing a dog sled ride! They were also very flexible about a last minute add to our reservation. The dogs were all super friendly and loved getting pets!

Yelp
We booked Wildthingz at the last moment for our party of 6 and had a great time! On the tour your get to ride with the dog team, get to see them in action and hear all about their dog mushing adventures. Highly recommend for those with kids and kids at heart.

Yelp
The kindest couple running the most interesting dog mushing business. It was such an amazing experience - we 100% recommend doing this when you're in Denali. We'll definitely be rooting this team on for future races! Good luck Emily & Richie!

Yelp
We really had no idea what to expect. The experience was so awesome... not only was the "mushing" experience great, the education allotted was fantastic. The best part was being able to interact with the dogs. So much fun!!

Yelp
This was my favorite thing on my trip to Alaska! Emily and Richie were super cool, the dogs were amazing, and the ATV ride was really fun. We got to hang out with the dogs afterwards and learn about the sport of dog mushing. The tour was private and felt like our own VIP experience. And the location was easy to get to. I would highly recommend Wildthingz for anyone in the Denali area who wants a unique and personal experience with sled dogs!

Yelp
wish to see a change in attitude of these folks who seem to be able to dish it out but cant take the heat when gatekeeping and talkin' shit. hope to see a change to the level of smug from this otherwise fine establishment. love the dogs, didnt need the 'tude or the lecture. please consider that your content is not all family friendly, and should be marked as such or removed.

Yelp
Amazing experience. They shared a wealth of knowledge about dog sledding. All of the pups were so sweet. Highly recommend! The ride was a blast! Thanks to Richie and his lovely partner/wife

Yelp
My husband and I along with our 7&9 year old kids booked the 9:30 tour so we could stop on our return from Denali to Anchorage. Perfect timing to leave Denali in the morning and brwaknup the drive back to Anchorage. We had a great time at this authentic dog mushing experience. The hosts were great with the kids and all of their questions. We took a ride with the dogs through beautiful countryside and along a river. After the tour we went into a tent and leaned more about the dogs, races and preparation to race. I highly recommend the tour for families!

Yelp
Wow! Just wow! Richie and Emily are my new best friends. They were just that friendly. Obviously they love what they do, love their dogs and love sharing their experiences with us. The ride was way more than I expected and I cant wait to do it again. Beautiful! Thx from Ohio!

Yelp
This was so much fun and Emily and Rich were the most gracious hosts and tour guides! We went for a run with the dogs pulling the ATV (because it was summer and there is no snow), learned a ton about dog sledding and the Alaska races and most importantly got to pet all of the dogs! I'll admit I was was a bit worried about some things I had heard about the Iditarod and animal neglect/abuse, but these are true dog people that love their dogs. The dogs are very happy and well-cared for. My kids loved this! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Once in a life experience, a must try when you are in Denali!! Emily and Richie are such kind people giving us the most amazing tour of the outbacks of Denali with the dogs in the lead. My two little kids enjoyed the ride so much my daughter is already asking to come back next year to see Wookie. The tour is so private that we were able to have plenty of time after the dog sled ride to as interact with the dogs. We learned about Iditorod from Emily and Richie, experience racers themselves. They gave us a peek into the intriguing the world of dog mushing that we will never forget. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We took the tour yesterday morning and had a great time. The owner, Richie, gave us the tour which made it much more authentic and informative. We took a ride with the dogs and got to see them in action. We also learned all about raising and training the dogs, what it's like to actually be in a sled race, and the equipment they use. And of course we got to see puppies!!
