Wildwood Community Market & Deli

So calm, employees are so kind and ready to explain anything that may confuse you. A brown curly haired lass helped me and they were very kind and informative. I know this time of year can be draining for those working but I really appreciated the genuine and kind vibe from them. I got the Chicken sandwich with light pimento and no pickles with potato salad. They are both perfect and YUM. Potato salad was ice cold and sandwich was fried fresh. Heavily recommend. <3

We were going to a park and needed some food to go. In came wildwood. Upon arrival we felt like we were entering a NYC Williamsburg bodega. Great selection of different carbonated beverages. The sandwich spot was straight to the back, subs, wraps, bowls, melts everything! And of course sides such as salads, chips, pasta salads. We ordered 3 sandwiches and were all blown away. Inside to the right of the place there was plenty of seating along with a small kids play area, nice touch.

There are lots of things to love about Wildwood Community Market. I’ve had a number of their sandwiches, all of which have been excellent, and as I’ll discuss below, I love their sides! Orders are placed at the deli counter, and in no time at all, you’ll be ready to enjoy your meal on the go, at one of their dine-in booths or tables, or outside at the picnic table. Pros: 1.) Flavor! Every mouthful is perfectly balanced and sandwiches crafted in delightful proportion. While I love pimento cheese, I often lament that some restaurants slather it on burgers and sandwiches to the point that it’s all you taste. Not so here! Their grilled chicken and pimento cheese sandwich is perfectly balanced along with greens and bread to highlight the best parts of each. Similarly, the turkey, apple, brie sandwich was a delightful balance paired with a jam/marmalade and flaky croissant. 2.) Bean salads. Maybe it’s just me, but I love a bean salad, and they are always stocked up in the deli case with at least one. This trip it was the chickpea and feta salad. There’s often a Southwest bean salad. And they’re all amazingly filling and flavorful. 3.) Good vibes. It’s called a community market and really feels like one! Staff are friendly and helpful, and the places just has great vibes overall. Its proximity to App State’s campus means you’re like to find an assortment of students, locals, and tourists enjoying this spot on any given day. Cons: 1.) Parking. If you’re just coming to eat at Wildwood, parking can be a bit tricky. I suggest just finding a metered spot on King or Depot Street and walking down. Hopefully the new Howard Street project will bring some new parking to the area. Note: While there is lots of road work happening nearby, they are open and still great as ever!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Wildwood Community Market, and I have to say it is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves good local food and a welcoming atmosphere. I first met Joe, the friendly owner, a while ago when I was doing marketing for a drink company they stock. Ever since then, I have been wanting to stop by and try some of their offerings, and I was not disappointed. On my visit, I ordered the chicken salad sandwich along with their creamy dill pasta salad on the side. Both were absolutely delicious. The chicken salad was fresh, flavorful, and had just the right balance of ingredients. The creamy dill pasta salad complemented the sandwich perfectly. It is clear that the market focuses on quality and local ingredients, which really shows in the flavors. They have an amazing menu with so many good options, its hard to choose! I also tried a ginger drink that they carry. While it was not exactly my cup of tea, I still think it is worth trying if you enjoy unique and spicy beverages. Joe was around during my visit and was very friendly, chatting with customers and making everyone feel welcome. His passion for supporting local producers and creating a community hub really comes through. Wildwood Community Market is a great place to grab a quick bite or find some specialty local foods. The combination of tasty food, friendly service, and a cozy community vibe makes it a must-visit if you are in the area. You won’t regret it!

Delicious as always! The staff is so friendly and helpful. We did two fired chicken sandwiches and two Chick-fil-A"ain't". OMG, so delicious - and on advice of the employee, we went with potato cake sides. Cannot go wrong with the slighty-spicy veggie soup or the potato pancakes! Quick service so we could go back to The Horton and watch Alabama (sigh) lay an egg to Georgia. ;-)

I’ve been a patron of Wild Wood for over three years, and every visit is just as amazing as the last. It’s my favorite spot to stop in before class for a quick, healthy lunch. I usually pick something from their deli case, everything is made in-house and fresh every day. The selection is always a little different, which keeps things interesting, but it’s consistently delicious. It’s also one of the few places in town that offers affordable, healthy options, which I really appreciate. The employees are always friendly, efficient, and kind. You honestly can’t go wrong here, Wild Wood is an absolute favorite of mine!

We stopped in for lunch today and had such a great experience! I had the club sandwich on sourdough, and it was absolutely delicious — the sourdough was perfect and the sandwich was packed with flavor. My partner had the chicken salad wrap, and it was anything but basic — the flavor was incredible and really stood out. We also tried the broccoli and apple salad and their pasta salad, both of which were fresh and tasty. One thing we really loved was that the staff was so friendly and welcoming — they even let you sample any of the salads before choosing, which was such a nice touch. Everything was washed down with a bottled Coke — simple but perfect. The vibes were great, the food was fresh and full of flavor, and we’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something delicious and made with care!

The place is great it’s kinda like a bodega. I got a mushroom Philly with chicken and it was so flavorful and one of the best phillys I’ve had. I also got pickled radish’s and they were also great. It took a while to cook the food but it was so good I didn’t really mind. The people working were super nice and so really I have no complaints. Great food and a fun atmosphere!

We were headed to the local, and saw sign for best sandwiches in Boone, and this place did not disappoint. Ordered the chickfalean deluxe and the turkey Brie and they were both delicious. Very quick and friendly service ! 10/10 recommend. They also have a cute kid friendly corner

Amazing sandwiches! And a cute market with fun options for snacks and beverages. The gluten free bread on the sandwich was one of the best I've had. Check out the nice grill marks in the photos. I had the BLT here two days in a row, that's how good it was. I also tried the club sandwich, yummy! One of my favorite spots in downtown Boone.

Best sandwiches and grilled chicken and salmon including vegetarian! Awesome sides, usually room to watch inside when everything that isnt as good has 40 minute waits! Bonus: great to be there with little ones, they have a play area

Great food. Cool vibe. Good people. Love the variety of the tasty and healthy food here. Plus - so many gluten-free options! Enjoy the bright decor and always feel it's clean. Hot falafel sandwich is amazing but my go-to is getting one protein + one side. I could spend a whole visit just pondering all of the selections for refreshing drinks too! Fun to eat in and convenient for takeout! My favorite restaurant in Boone!

Upon going inside my first time, staff were eager to explain or help with any questions I might have. Sweet and attentive, clean everywhere, and food was very good! Well done!

Driving back/ to Banner Elk area, this was definitely worth a few mile detour to stop for somee grub. Everything fresh and a lot of local. The pumpkin soup was off the chain. thick with a little kick. Vegan options for my wife. And they also sell local items like bakery, bread, meats etc. Also, some old schoop video games and board games. Why would you eat lunch anywhere else?

I loved it! The door was open so lots of fresh air. I was welcomed and asked if it was my first visit. They explained that everything is made fresh, all produce is organic, and they source local as much as they can. They made sure I knew where to find everything from napkins to hot sauce ... just super kind. Food was fast and delicious. I had a breakfast burrito and a side of pickled beets. Delicious!

Well now. Hopefully it's not too often that something hits you like "what just happened" ?! I got the country-fried tofu "meal deal". It came with two sides, but I quickly forgot they existed (I have a dim memory of them being good). But let me tell you this: tofu has just moved into whole new category. I know I know, I bet you're thinking I'm the owners bothers cousin. Nope. They serve it with some kind of house made tzatziki dipping sauce. All I can tell you is don't go here without getting some of these two things: country-fried tofu & tzatziki sauce. You will not regret it. And whatever you thought about tofu is about to change... even if you liked it before. I'll be back sometime soon and try to eat something else on the menu. But that'll be a difficult thing to do cause I'm gonna be staring at the tofu.

I was with a group and 2 dogs looking for breakfast on a rainy morning. Of course, most pet friendly restaurants in the area only had outdoor seating, which was uncovered and wet... But I called Wildwood market and they said come on in! Super friendly staff, tasty breakfast burritos and lunch sandwiches and a 1980s Pac-Man table game! Great spot for a quick bite with our pups

Second time validated my thinking that this place is excellent! Cute place and food is on point l. Staff super friendly and even remembered us from first visit. I sat and watched as people lined outside for the Local restaurant across the street and thought thank goodness the tourist haven't found this place yet because it definitely this locals new lunch spot.

The people are incredibly nice and we're very engaging. The store is very clean and the deli is excellent. Thank you to the guy that brought out water for my dog and then came back with a treat for her without being asked!!!

Far and away the best in quality,presentation and preparation plus an awesome staff. Don't forget to indulge in one or two of Kim's deserts. She's a Goddess when it comes to deserts...trust me.

Amazing local grocery store with an amazing hot/cold bar options. The chicken salad wrap was packed with veggies and a perfect amount of dressing, I could not recommend this market more!!

Phenomenal sandwiches. Lifelong vegetarian and Wildwood's tofu sandwiches are some of the most flavorful I've ever had. Fresh local ingredients are used in pretty much every dish offered. My personal favorites are the BBQ tofu and the Chick-Fil-Ain't. CJ, Joe, and the whole team are friendly and know their regulars by name. The store is bright and inviting with clean public restrooms. Great addition to the Boone community.
