This Small European Cafe Brings a Big Dinner Spread to RiNo - Eater Denver

"With its slick design, sunny patio, and next-level breakfast and lunch fare, Call shot to the top of the short list for RiNo’s cafe habitués the moment it opened last December. But owner Craig Lieberman, chef-partner Duncan Holmes, and general manager Allison Anderson were only just beginning to implement their vision for the place, inspired less by American-style coffee shops than by the all-day sidewalk bars of Europe — where the locals who stop in for espresso and pastry every morning return at night for drinks and, perhaps, an assortment of the hors d’oeuvres on display at the order counter." - Ruth Tobias

Google
I warn everyone who wants to try Will Call one thing, once you try Will Call, there is no quitting Will Call. You genuinely cannot beat the vibe of this place, it really blends dive bars, sports bars, and contemporary bars together into a beautiful place. I can firmly say that they have a best drink and food specials in RiNo, so no matter how long you are there your wallet will stay in tact. All while having the chillest bartenders in town Their food is great and their drinks are strong, the perfect combo I would recommend Will Call to everyone

Google
One of my favorite neighborhood bars. And their pizza rolls are insanely good! Marked down a star for service cause it’s bar service only and sometimes that means waiting a long time in line, but the staff has always been awesome! Prices are super reasonable too and they have lots of specials they run all the time.

Google
My friend brought me to Will Call for a few drinks and a pizza. The atmosphere is great, the bartenders are very nice and helpful, and the vibe is immaculate. I'm a tourist in town from Indiana and it made me feel at home here. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area native or tourist.

Google
Pizza is fire! We got the meatza! Kelsen was really accommodating! Definitely coming back!

Revann Sirokman

Google
Great spot in RiNo! The atmosphere and service were great, and the chicken Parmesan sandwich was delicious!!

Google
I LOVE this place. We played trivia here a lot, but also just love to stop in for beers and good music. The bartenders are some of the best in the city- they never let you sit unattended for more than 30 seconds. Really hope they can stick around when everything in the neighborhood seems to be closing!

Google
Let me tell you. This place isn't just a bar with bar food. The food here is incredible. Pizza, wings, appetizers - phenomenal. Great staff! Gem in RiNo!

Google
I like this local bar. Good vibe with a spacious bar and booths alongs the sides. The pizza hits nice. Nothing spectacular but real solid bar pizza.

Shea H.

Yelp
Cool bar with chill energy. The bartender Becky is a baller, good for a night of darts and sports. Can't wait to come back for trivia night.
google avatar

Savannah K.

Yelp
Will Call is a low key spot to grab bar food and cheap drinks, perhaps catch a sports game & play darts. Indoor and outdoor seating with fire pits on the patio. It is bar service only but the food and drinks come out rather quickly.

Yelp
Ambiance: stylish bar restaurant with arcade game station Service: very fast though mostly self serving for water Food & Drink: simple menu items and happy hour menu available Cheese Pizza - *** average taste Bud Light - *** light draft beer Prices: large portions and reasonable prices, about $15~$20 per person

Yelp
Great little find near downtown. Fun place to watch games. The pizza was delicious and the service was counter only so actually very convenient. Spend enough and you get to play a game and win prizes!

Yelp
bartender ignored us for 10 min was not busy at all he never acknowledged us and once we got his attention he treated it as an inconvenience. The bartender was bald and wore glasses. He also got the drink order wrong twice simple margarita with no salt after I asked him to fix it he balled up the receipt and threw it in a tantrum. I wasn't being rude just asked that he fixed it. He also forgot a sprite that was ordered. As we were leaving he was giving us dirty looks and talking trash about us to his coworkers. This guy was unprofessional and a straight up ass for no reason. If taking a simple drink order and basic customer service is a bother to him maybe he shouldn't be a bartender. I recommend passing on this place rhino has much better options to offer

Yelp
Originally ordered a chicken parm hoagie and Buffalo wings but what I got was a piece of dried chicken on bread with what looks like a strip of cheese? And charred inedible wings.. extremely disappointed.

Yelp
I wish I could keep this a secret but I can't. I love this little bar. Walking distance from my apartment and really well priced pizza hehe. I love the drinks here but more importantly that if you spend over $50 you get to have a shot at DRINK-O . You will typically win a free beer. Bartenders are kind and deal with tough customers very well. I come here more than I should but I love it.

Lulu F.

Yelp
Truly a hidden gem! Typical bar food on the menu but you'll be impressed at how GREAT their food is. Their pizza and sweet potato wedges are my favorite! Cheap drinks, friendly bartenders, and great vibes inside this bar.

Yelp
I really don't want to post this review, seriously....because this is my favorite chill spot to hang out and grab some late night food. Place is usually pretty calm and smooth late at night. A few people hanging out. Outside seating is great on a warm night. It's open to all, so if your not 21 don't worry, come down and grab some wings. Also a great quiet spot to get late night food with your kids.

Jessica K.

Yelp
Awesome vibe. Good energy and music. Loved the staff, especially Becky, on top of it quick service and personable. Came here in a Wednesday had drinks and some munchies. Awesome spot, will be back!

Ben C.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars. A chill but fun vibe, multiple TV's for games, bartenders are happy to put on a game if you request. Cold beer, very fair prices and good specials. Possibly the most underrated kitchen I've seen, the food is amazing. I recommend the fried chicken sandwich or any of their Pizzas. If you're in the area don't miss out on this gem.

Yelp
A spot to grab a beer and some bar foods near the new Fusions next door. I attended a soft opening for Fusions and was starving after drinking. I walked over before the kitchen closed and enjoyed the slice of pizza special. The bartender was friendly and service was fast. I enjoyed the greasy pepperoni slice with crispy pepperonis. It was a cheesy bar pizza and I loved it!

Yelp
We were recommended this place for some late Monday night bar food and beer. It was just what we were looking for. The pizza was greasy and delicious. 16 or 22 ounce tap pours and liquor options available provided all the choices we'd require. The relaxed, unsophisticated atmosphere just added to make this a great late-night casual stop.

Dark R R.

Yelp
Leaving an amazing review. You were awesome and kind after a very tragic day. Pizza was great and atmosphere was wonderful. Mark was great too.

Yelp
I am the first person to admit when I am wrong. Always. That's why I am here tonight correcting my previous 3 star review to a 5. For: 1. Wings 2. Water with lemon and I didn't even ask 3. Price is right Thanks to all the honest yelp reviewers out there.
google avatar

Yelp
While the pizza and sweet potato fries were delicious, the wings weren't much bang for your buck. We got the salt and vinegar wings which didn't really have much flavor and the size of each wing was quite small. This could've been overlooked had my girlfriend and I had known that this place doesn't accept vertical ID cards prior to coming here. There are signs everywhere and on the front door when walking in but no where does it say "No Vertical IDs" on their website or Yelp page. My girlfriend still her out of state ID and the vertical is valid for a few more years so we figured why spend the money when for the last two years, it's been working absolutely fine. Again, the signs all over inside are ok but we specifically choose to come here over other restaurants and bars because the food and drinks looked good. Had we known beforehand, we would've been able to enjoy our night much more and simply came back once she's renewed her ID. Not to mention when we didn't order drinks, the staff seemed to be a bit rude with us afterwards. It's like we *cant* order drinks. Either way, I'll probably forget about this place in a bit with how much other amazing food Denver has to offer. Just wish we would've known beforehand and not wasted our time and money.

Yelp
Perfectly fine place to have a beer and watch a game outside. The wings however.... I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from having wings permanently ruined for me. They were absolutely horrific. Undercooked, mushy, gristly wings. The fact that I didn't end up with food poisoning from eating one is surprising. I'd go back to have a beer and sit outside but you couldn't pay me to eat the food here.

Yelp
This place was soooooo good we came back again with more friends!! The burgers and arepas are a must, allllll the fries were BOMB AF including the yucca fries omgggg..and I had the best salad of my life (arugula avocado w cilantro dressing) my friend said the wings were some of the best he's ever had (and he orders wings everywhere). The parking is a pain when it's super busy but otherwise YES!!!!!!

Yelp
My friend and I went for a late lunch. Will Call is in the former will call area of the large warehouse that is now the INDUSTRY shared workspace development. The space has a very high ceiling with an industrial design, very comfortable rows of large booths on each side, tables in the middle, and a large bar. There's also an outside patio. We both absolutely loved this place. I have a particular beer style that I like and I explained my preferences to the waiter. He immediately suggested three options that were a perfect match to my desires. The menu includes some starters, salads, soup, and burgers, but we came here because we wanted to try the arepas which are the Venezuelan/Colombian notion of a corn-based flat bread that is split like an English muffin and used to make a sandwich. They offer five basic styles to which you can add a choice of protein, a sauce, and a side. I had the Toastador which includes black bean paste, plantain, corn, and queso fresco. I substituted grilled onion for the usual pickled onion and added pulled pork and the avocado salsa. I also had it smothered in the Hatch pork green chili. OMG! Absolutely delicious. A really nice combination of flavors. It was a bit tricky to eat as I had to use my knife and fork to cut up the arepa and then spoon up a piece with the wonderful sauce and fillings. Very satisfying. My friend and I both chose the sweet potato fries as our side. We agreed these were the best sweet potato fries ever. They were very large, hand-cut chunks of sweet potato with a balsamic glaze that brought them to a whole new level. Really tender and flavorful. A highlight of the meal. The portions were perfect, the beers went very well with the food, and the waiter was helpful and knowledgeable--just a very pleasant experience.

Yelp
We booked space at Will Call for a work event this fall. I was planning everything from out of town and trying to find a good space for Alumni of our program in the Denver area w/ decent parking (ha tall order, right?) Will Call deliverers! Marty, the GM, was so easy to work with and every time I called to confirm the menu, head count etc they were so friendly and easy to work with. The whole night was fantastic, the staff was available to help us out whenever we needed it and the food and drinks were great!
google avatar

Megan D.

Yelp
Fantastic food, fantastic atmosphere, fantastic service! Will call is a great place to grab drinks with friends
google avatar

Julie N.

Yelp
Cool spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Although the wall has huge signs for whiskey and tequila, their bar options are all cheap liquor. Their fanciest whiskey is Bulleit. Not a bad whiskey but I was expecting greater variety and top shelf options at a place that boasts carrying whiskey and tequila. Food is reliably good and decently priced. Adds a nice warm touch to this community full of construction and copy & paste apartment buildings.

Yelp
So, we ended up here by accident but it was a nice experience. There were two waiters who waited on us and they were real chill, laid back, and did their jobs. It was pretty slow when we went so nothing major was happening. It was a nice spot to grab a drink, use the potty, and dip.
google avatar

Valentina L.

Yelp
This man has refused to assist or serve us. Asked for a water and menu and waited while he socialized when 27 min later I got the menu just to be told the kitchen is closed. Horrible horrible horrible customer service, etiquette or human interaction skills.

Ale S.

Yelp
If you're ethnic you're probably not welcome here, staff is horribly discriminating Live across from them every time I've tried to have a drink here it's unpleasant!

Andrew O.

Yelp
Had the chopped salad and woke up with food poisoning - you can tell this place isn't legitimate by the way they run things, no servers waiting tables - stay away
google avatar

Cory D.

Yelp
I want to like this more. The food was mediocre, service was disinterested. Food was inedible/terrible. Small crap shrimp, weird triple sec dressing, arepas had been sitting for hours, if not a day. The decor is weird too. I know you serve WHISKEY TEQUILA GIN and others, so weird to put that in my face under a drain pipe light thing. I want to like this more.

Monica A.

Yelp
Soo excellent! I went with 3 friends. I got a ceasar salad with chicken. One friend ordered a pizza with onions. The 2nd ordered a pizza with bacon and green peppers. My other friend ordered just wings. We all loved our food. The service was fantastic! Pizzas were done perfectly. Just the right amount of cheese. And the sauce and cheese had really good flavor. We will be back, for sure! Thank you!
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
I'll start with the bad, because it's kind of inconsequential and I'd rather just get it out of the way. Their happy hour menu isn't that great. There's no food on it and the drinks that are included are limited to certain kinds of beer, wah wah. The good is everything else about the place! The space is big and open and bright, especially if it's nice outside and those big patio doors are open and those arepas are crazy good. I ordered the RiNo and debated adding meat or not and decided to go without. Didn't miss it for a second because the veggies, cheese and mango sauce were incredible! Also, those sweet potato fries are probably the best I've ever tasted. And that's really saying something. Now that we know better than to bother getting there during happy hour, I am SURE we'll be back for dinner. And more arepas!
google avatar

Luke D.

Yelp
We just went to will call for the first time since it's opening, and it has really gone downhill. When you walk in, you seat yourself and you have to order food and drinks from the bar, no wait staff. When we went, they only had two employees behind the bar, and the tables were sticky and dirty. They have a limited menu with very few food selections: pizza, salad and wings. We ended up ordering the wings, which were small and mediocre. The drink specials we ordered were watered down and not very tasty. It's unfortunate because I think this place has a lot of potential.

J K.

Yelp
Will Call is a great place to have drinks and watch whatever game is on. The staff has always been great to us, they are consistent and reliable. The food is "bar food" but they serve food until 11 most nights and sometime pizza by the slice even later. I personally don't like the pizza (too garlicky) for me, but some people absolutely love it. I would recommend stopping in and seeing the place for your self.
google avatar

Jackie P.

Yelp
I don't often eat here, but I like the vibe and the service. They have my favorite cider ever (Magner's), which all cider fans should try. They always bring it in a chilled glass which makes it such a different drink. It's such a little thing, but it was so appreciated.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
They have really good food late night but it's very obvious they don't actually want anyone to come into the bar. Super when rude you order anything.
google avatar

Audrey P.

Yelp
I love this place. It's walking distance to my place, the staff is always kind, and the food and drinks are great. We went back tonight after a covid hiatus and they made us feel extremely safe. All orders and food/drink pick ups were in one location away from the table, and they never came over to us. There are plenty of outdoor seating options to mitigate risks. If you've never tried this place out I strongly suggest giving it a try. If the empanadas are there, get them!

Chad Z.

Yelp
If you are looking for a late night snack or and to go drink with amazing workers like Becky and Mark then this is the move!! Also the vibes are immaculate 10/10
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
Really chill spot , parking alittle troublesome, but got lucky with a spot right front, good wings , good selection of brews, the patio is pretty cool spot, not much of a food selection but i get it simple and easy.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
Oh my god! What a gem!! It's so hard to find Venezuelan/Colombian food in Denver, plus in an upscale joint. The whole menu is delicious! Obviously any place serving plantains most probably will get a 5 stars from me. The restaurant/bar is not in the best location but I'm still dreaming about those arepas and my salad "El Rancho" so it's definitely worth going there again and again... Everything was so good! It's a nice industrial modern looking place. Looks like they have a nice patio outside but it was too cold when I visited. About 5 TVs showing sports. Man, I'm getting hungry just writing this review remembering that food...
google avatar

Terry L.

Yelp
Another up and coming spot in the Ri-No area. Big open air and dark industrial neighborhood dive bar feel at the same time. Jenn and I decided to check this place out a couple days ago. Cheap beer special ($2.50 Coors Light) is always a welcome sight. Mini Tabletop Cornhole had me wondering "Where has this been all my life??" Food- Good looking menu but disappointing flavor and size for the $$. Venezuelan inspired Arepas are good but not the best I've tasted here in the Mile High City. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall- another nice place. Not sure I would make a special trip but if I'm in the area again..

Bill B.

Yelp
I'm really bummed the food here has become so terrible. I got a takeout chicken sandwich that seemed like it had been left in a fryer or microwave for 3 minutes too long. I ate half of it because I'm a sad bachelor with low standards and then had to throw up later. I gave them another shot with a bison burger (the food here used to be good, and again, sad bachelor) and it was just rubbery garbage that clearly came from some sams club family pack and was placed in a microwave. And for some reason they gave me like 12 fries. I want to eat at Will Call so badly right because it's across the street and a nice vibe. But the food is genuinely so terrible I can't give it more than one star no regardless of any other qualities. McDonald's will be vastly better quality every time.
google avatar

Laurence T.

Yelp
Awesome bar/restaurant in a cool hip location. The decor in here is really modern and sleek.
google avatar

Chels C.

Yelp
Well people. I was traveling into town to visit a friend who had recently relocated to this city. First stop on the list, Will Call. Elevated rounded leather booth seating, high industrial ceilings, wooden bar top...the works. My go to is usually a cold brew but not today, and boy was I in for a treat. I can't for the life of me remember the cocktail I ordered but lets just say that's the greatest part. They're good and strong. For that reason alone I will return.
google avatar

Jen F.

Yelp
My friend and I walked here from the Highlands. We were just passing by so figured to check it out. We had the chicken sandwich with garlic aioli. It was delicious! We also got the call basic which was good. The service was great and atmosphere was cool. Looks really new. We'd come back.
google avatar

Demitria M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this spot, it was kind of hidden gem in the midst of all the downtown construction. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, but I was most impressed by the food. Not your typical bar food, I had a delicious arepa with some killer sweet potatoes fries. Definitely a place I'll be returning too !
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
Chill bar with some kickass arepas. Their plantains are also pretty damn good. Good place to snag a drink and some kickass arepas. I'm not sure about anything else in the menu, as this is always what we order.

Sean N.

Yelp
This bar would be really cool but that bartender with a mustache and crappy attitude ruins it. Won't be back solely for that reason. I don't know what's worse his attitude or his cheesy mustache, either way they both ruined my whole groups vibe.
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
I go here often, good service, never really busy, the arapas are very good, and sweet potato fries are great...bsrtenders are friendly and fun.Chicken samdwich is a good pick and i have not ever had a bad experience. Great local eat if yiur around the rhino neighborhood.

Yelp
This place is by far one of my favorites. Great happy hour, with 10-close and regular after work hours. Never overpriced. Has great wings, burger with a fried egg. Always a good time!
google avatar

diana s.

Yelp
Great atmosphere; had the cheese empanadas, chorizo sliders, two different arepas; the Rino w/chorizo and the toastador with pork. All were delicious. We accompanied our meals with High moon grapefruit vodkas, soda and oj; refreshing. Marty, our server was attentive and friendly. We will be back! :)
google avatar

Ben C.

Yelp
Love the food, helpful and accommodating staff and all of the amenities. The salads are some of my favorite options on the menu. Never had a bad meal here and the drink prices and specials are great too!

Yelp
My love for RiNo keeps growing..new crush: the Industry development! Will Call is one of the first bar/eateries to open in the new Industry development on Brighton Blvd (its been mostly office use until now). I really dig this place. It has a very dark/cozy/industrial feel. Plenty of big booths, bar space, and some communal tables. They also have a decent amount of TVs for your sports watching needs..but they arent obtrusive like many sports bars..I think this will become a frequent place for watching sports for me. The tap list is pretty good..mostly local/CO beers, good seasonal, and variety. I went with one of the two Tommyknockers they had on tap. For food they have a nice menu..plenty of appetizers, burgers, etc. The main attraction here is the arepas though..and mmm are they good! I split three arepas with a friend (Point, Call, Huevo). All of them were very good but I would say the Call and Huevo were the best. Each arepa also comes with a side. We got the sweet potato fries, guisado soup, and plantains. I really am blown away by this place..I just went to NYC for a work trip and had supposedly the best areapas in the city there. While they may have had more options there Will Call is definitely better. The sides were even amazing. Probably the best plantains I have had and I even liked the sweet potato fries (I never like sweet potatoes)!! While it wasnt very busy (kinda late sunday night) the service was great. The bartenders were very friendly and fun to chat with. I am really looking forward to coming back here to try more arepas and other things on the menu!
