From the very beginning, our experience with The William Aiken House and the entire PPHG team was nothing short of amazing. Not only is the venue itself absolutely stunning (it truly speaks for itself), but the people behind it make it even more special. Sophia and the whole PPHG team were incredible to work with—communication was seamless, execution was flawless, and every detail was handled so thoughtfully. The food was outstanding, our guests are still talking about it. Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and added so much to the overall experience. We also had the absolute dream team of Emma and Jordan from Peninsula Events (PPHG’s in-house planners), and I cannot say enough about them. They are hands down the best planners ever. They made the entire planning process fun, stress-free, and truly enjoyable, and they brought our vision to life in a way that was beyond anything we could have imagined. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a single thing. They created the most beautiful wedding for us! One thing I was initially sad about was having to put the rain tents up, but somehow this team made me forget they were even there. The space was still absolutely gorgeous, and I don’t know how they pulled it off. They completely shifted my mindset, put me at ease, and made sure I could fully enjoy the day without worry. On our wedding day, everything came together perfectly. Our guests are still raving about how gorgeous the space was, how smooth the evening flowed, and how kind and attentive the staff were. We felt so supported every step of the way, and I can honestly say the day was stress-free because of them. I couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else, and I am endlessly grateful to Sophia, Emma, Jordan, and the entire staff for giving us a day more perfect than we ever dreamed.

The William Aiken House is an absolute DREAM. The space is so versatile and allows you to have the ceremony of your choice, whether it's an outdoor garden setting or a more traditional backdrop with the carriage house - it truly has it all!! In addition to the absolutely stunning venue itself, the PPHG catering is top tier! Our guests could not stop talking about how amazing the food was and how it was probably one of the best wedding meals they've ever had! The food selection is so expanse and every single entree, appetizer, etc. was absolutely delicious. The PPHG staff were also an absolute breeze to work with. The ladies I worked with most, Isabel, Olivia, and Jillian were so great with communication, efficient, and organized. Additionally, they were so so amazing with accommodating our budget and wedding size (we had a smaller wedding approx. 50 people.) My brother has severe autism as well and Olivia made sure that he was comfortable on our wedding day/with food choices - I cannot even express how much that meant to me! Even if you don't choose William Aiken House, all of the PPHG venues are absolutely stunning. Just working with PPHG overall honestly is the cherry on top of their amazing venues. Thank you ladies so so much for being a part of our big day and helping us to bring our vision to life! We are immensely grateful and would recommend this venue and staff to every person who is looking to get married in Charleston!! <3

The William Aiken House was the perfect venue for our daughter’s wedding. The historic home and stunning grounds created a truly breathtaking setting, and the ability to use both indoor and outdoor spaces was ideal. Although we had our own planner, the planning staff at WAH was exceptionally communicative and professional. And then there is the food and service—simply out of this world. I have attended many weddings over the years, and I can honestly say I have never experienced better food at a wedding. You typically attend weddings expecting the dinner to be “just okay.” Not here. Every single bite was exceptional, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The service was equally remarkable—professional, gracious, attentive, and flawless from start to finish. The William Aiken House exceeded every expectation we had and created an unforgettable experience not just for our daughter and son-in-law, but for every guest in attendance.

The William Aiken House is a truly special venue with a great team behind it (PPHG). It’s in Charleston's downtown historic district, where you’re right in the middle of the city's vibrant atmosphere, while still retaining a strong sense of privacy and seclusion. William Aiken House has so much to offer, both inside and out. I love the architectural sophistication inside the mansion as well as gorgeous gardens—there are plenty of beautiful photography locations to choose from. The way the sun reflects off the mansion later in the day creates the perfect magical ambiance. The grounds are well structured and easily accessible. I really appreciate the proximity between the getting ready, ceremony and reception spaces as you never feel like you’re missing out on the excitement of the event. Overall the William Aiken House is an elegant venue option that truly encapsulates everything that makes Charleston unique.

Southern Charm Perfection. I never dreamt that I would get married in Charleston, let alone in a venue as romantic as the William Aiken House. From the bright colors, and historical architecture to the well-manicured garden and cobblestone paths, this was a dreamy spot to tie the knot. We got married in October 2023 and I couldn’t be happier with the final result. The venue was perfect. PPHG and the staff were amazing throughout the whole process from initial contact with Erin to their in-house planners, Abby Frye who was fantastic - she took all the guesswork out of it, made it an enjoyable experience, and the final result was stellar - more than what I could have imagined - to Nadia who helped us at the tasting experience and made sure we were never left out of food or drinks at our wedding. Abby and Nadia were a Godsend on the day of the wedding. All of our guests raved about how beautiful and how classy the venue and event were, how delicious the food was especially the crab cakes and oatmeal cream pies, and how nice all the staff were. We felt very welcomed and supported by Abby and the PPHG team - they all went above and beyond and I would recommend them over and over again.

The William Aiken House is a dream wedding venue for wedding photographers! The location couldn't be better - gorgeous 1807 mansion with lots of outdoor space, right in the middle of downtown. We photographed a gorgeous gay wedding here (photos attached) where they got married outside in the courtyard and had a tent for the reception. But when you rent the house, you're able to use the inside as well - all the beautiful, colorful rooms with period furniture. We made sure to get lots of portraits in the different rooms - the colors all looked SO good. And then because you're right in the thick of downtown, we went into the street for portraits as well. So many photo opportunities here - they're endless!

Yelp
One of the most beautiful homes in all of Charleston! We attended an event here and everything was absolutely perfect. From the garden lighting to each room in the interior, it was flawless. Whoever does the catering for the house did an outstanding job. I was very impressed with my experience.

Yelp
The most beautiful wedding venue we could ever ask for. Our guests couldn't stop talking about the house, food, drinks, and hospitality. PPHG and Kelly went above and beyond for us throughout our entire wedding planning process. We couldn't recommend our vendor team more!!

Yelp
Came to the William Aiken house for a wedding. The venue is very nice, it has a large outside area for both a ceremony as well as dancing, and the inside is a very old but elegant house with a space upstairs for dinning and a large outside porch over looking the outside area. The food they served was solid, definitely some interesting cocktail hour options. The best part of the cocktail hour were the King Crab legs that were served. They were massive. For dinner there was an option of either fish or steak. I personally had the steak, and it was good, but they didn't ask how I wanted it prepped so it came a little overdone.. The best part of the dinner was the crab soup that we were served to start. Very thick soup all most like a lobster bisque but with crab. This was definitely a nice wedding and i would recommend this location for anyone looking to do a wedding in Charleston. One thing i will say is that it is directly off of king st, so every now and again the cars or bikes that would go by would make a lot of noise and you could easily here it from the venue. Also, everyone had to leave by 11:30 because i think thats when the house shuts down.

Yelp
Was not a great experience and had very high expectations leading up to our wedding day... It rained on our wedding night and the venue flooded...we were not aware the venue could flood or how we could have avoided flooding until after the fact. Also, the venue was understaffed on our wedding night.. which led to more chaos (IE: bars not opening). As the bride, I spent two hours of my reception crying in the bridal suite with the chaos unfolding and no one from the venue approached me to ask how they could help. I found out after the fact that they had a Team Lead on site who I would think is there to make sure everything is running smoothly. With the flooding, our band couldn't play outside and William Aiken House did not let us play music inside.. the real icing on the cake. proceed with caution.

Yelp
Wow! What an excellent venue! Visited Charleston for a wedding and had the privilege to visit. As you enter you are greeted with luscious green ivy and calming water fountain. The back bar area is a great place to set up a bar and entertain on the patio during the rehearsal. This is a great resting place from the nearby dance floor. The house is the best part. While entering you can already get that southern charm feel. The colorful was warming and wood work was creatively carved, as in every inch in the house had meaning. An overall great wedding venue and one that would make every wedding a memorable one.

Yelp
Do not get married here! With all the growth of Charleston and the busy downtown scene, during the vows car alarms, people shouting, and people honking their car horn can be heard. It ruins the romantic ambiance.

Yelp
I used to cater events here during college. The house is gorgeous. There would be fancy parties and (even better) weddings, and some of my fellow American Theater employees and I would work these events, walking around with big trays and saying things like, "Oysters Rockefeller? Bruschetta?" Good times. I have no idea on pricing, but if you want Charleston atmosphere, this is the place to go. The house is dripping with antebellum stylings and architecture, and it has a great archway that leads from the property to the street that is just perfect for a picturesque departure of the bride and groom. I saw a couple that involved sparklers and a rickshaw- so adorable.

Yelp
Beautiful wedding venue with that Southern charm you would look for in a Charleston wedding. I had the pleasure of being a guest at a gorgeous wedding here. The outdoor space with the water feature and pergola was a beautiful setting for the ceremony. The rooms were well appointed and historically charming, which made for a cozy indoor space for reception dining. I especially loved the patio area turned outdoor lounge under the lights and stars. Beautiful!

Yelp
We recently got married at The William Aiken House, a Patrick Properties Hospitality Group property. The venue and PPHG team were an absolute dream to work with. The historic home and property were absolutely stunning and well maintained by PPHG. While getting married in Charleston, SC was a destination wedding for us, the team at PPHG worked with our travel schedule to best accommodate us for tastings and tours. In specific, Carly and Jackie from PPHG were incredibly friendly and professional, answering all of our questions leading up to the wedding, and were on hand all day during the wedding day to assist in any way possible. With some last minute rain on our wedding day, Carly was able to work with our wedding planners to quickly adjust our ceremony and reception layout to ensure our guests were kept dry throughout a gorgeous evening. In addition, the catering provided by PPHG was phenomenal. One of the biggest compliments we have heard from our guests was how much they enjoyed our station-style southern menu. From appetizers, main courses and late night food, PPHG delivered unforgettable food that far surpassed our expectations. I would certainly recommend PPHG and The William Aiken House to any bride looking to get married in Charleston!

Yelp
We attended a wedding here. This is a phenomenal venue! Gorgeous setting for both a wedding and reception. The food was delicious as well. Loved that it was walking distance from our hotel (Hampton Inn - Historic District).

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is NOT accommodating to nursing or pumping mothers! A woman named Megan copped an attitude with my friend for wanting a private and clean place to pump that wasn't the bathroom. When my friend couldn't take it anymore, she was forced to use the bathroom to pump, and since she was at a wedding, she wore a dress. So there she was, dress up to her shoulders, sitting on a dirty bathroom floor, making milk for her baby, when Megan walks in and LEAVES THE DOOR OPEN so everyone can see her! When she asked for a private room AGAIN because she needed to pump a second time, Megan AGAIN acted inconvenienced to provide an appropriate place. This needs to be corrected. Not for my sake. Not even for my friend's sake (what's done is done- it can't be changed)... It needs to be corrected for future mothers who need a place to privately feed their babies or pump milk. This is ridiculous.

Yelp
The venue itself is beautiful. Such a shame the management company is terrible. They are not up front about costs. So once you sign a contract and are locked in they tell you about all of the extra items you will need for your event, which is basically EVERYTHING! Just to hang a string of lights out in the courtyard costs almost $700! You have to use their catering, which was not good. One of our appetizers came out on stale ritz crackers and was super cold when it was supposed to be warm. The other apps were just meh. If you want to have an oyster roast they have a very sad setup of a piece of plywood on top of two trash cans. They should get a real oyster table if you are going to charge extra for it! You have to use their bar service too. We paid for the platinum bar, which you would think includes everything, but it doesn't. We still had to rent an actual bar from a rentals company and all of the glasses! They take a long time to respond too.
