It’s a hostel NOT a hotel. Don’t know how the council hasn’t shut them down yet. Worst place we have ever visited. Stirling was such a lovely place to visit recommend, Avoid this place if you do visit

I had a wonderful stay at the William Wallace Hotel, and I’d like to specifically commend Luca and Agnel for their exceptional service. They were attentive, polite, and incredibly helpful throughout my visit. They answered phone calls promptly, assisted with my luggage, and made sure every detail of my stay was comfortable. Their professionalism and warm demeanor truly made a difference. Thank you, Luca and Angnel, for your outstanding hospitality!

If you want a cheap place to stay for the night in Stirling... fine. My room was small, doors to rooms dirty and needing refurbishment, the lock on my door mostly hanging off. You have a shared toilet/shower room, no towels provided in my room.

We booked for 2 nights at the William Wallace "hotel". Arrived today early. Stood at the door for around 10 mins before someone answered. The door opens to an old staircase and bright orange walls, bare. After going up 2 flights of stairs, the " reception desk" was and old narrow piano. We were told to leave our luggage and return at 2pm. We did so and on our return waited another 10 mins for someone to answer the door. We were shown up more stairs to a very narrow short hall and advised our room was at the end. The room was very sparse, the bed was very flimsy, basic, stark white bedding. The ceiling was badly cracked and the hall smelled musty and damp. I asked about the shower and toilet facilities to be informed they were shared with all other rooms!! This is NOT AN HOTEL!! ITS A HOSTEL AND HAS BEEN USED FOR HOMELESS PEOPLE. We immediately left, booking a Travelodge nearby. How anyone can call this an hotel is beyond me. The only positive thing I can say about this rundown, neglected hovel is that it's location is central. Please do not stay here.

I stayed 6 nights, the place is an excellent choice for budget travel. The two young men at reception were always there to help, the room was large and comfortable.

Inadequate. Me and my partner stayed here in september and despite travelling on a budget were expecting better than this. The rooms, although clean, were neglected with a hole in the wall and in the window shutter and paint peeling off the walls. The kitchen was filthy with no cleaning products available for guests to clean up after cooking; what washing up liquid there was had clearly been watered down. There was a bin bag on the floor for a bin and left over food in the freezer. The toilet was clean enough but no hand soap. All in all awful value for money seeing as this was the most expensive hostel of out entire trip. Would not recommend.

So my experience of this (hotle) is actually a hostle I think 60 pounds for 2 nights it's abit much considering it was run down and the room was not great there where people standing at door and kicking it going by we heard everything. THE BEST ADVICE I CAM GIVE TO COUPLES IS JUST ADD THAT EXTRA 40 FOR A HOTLE DOOR AND I WOULD NOT ADVISE FOR LADY'S I THERE OWN TO BE THERE. IF I HAD BOT LOST MY BANK CARD I WOULD HAVE WALKED OUT OF IT, HOWEVER THE GUY WHO WAS DEALING WOTH US WHERE REALLY NICE AMD HELPED ALOT BUT IT'S GOOD TO SAY WE WON'T BE BACK THERE AGAIN. ((NOT A HOTLE) BOOKINGS NEEDS TO HAVE A GOOD LOOK AT WHAT THEY ARE PRECENTING TO PEOPLE

My wife and I booked this through booking.com and they should be ashamed of themselves. This is clearly a scam - the pictures don't match up with what was presented to us on the day. This place is more like a hostel and that's being generous. Dirty room, gross communal kitchen and broken toilet. I felt unsafe being there and quickly organised other accomodation in Glasgow. Disappointed at booking.com's responses, offered us a few vouchers and a vague promise to look into the hotel and its listing on their website. Do not book in any circumstance, you deserve better!

Yelp
On the Booking app this is listed as a Hotel. We booked and an hour later when we arrived it was clear that this was a hostel. We promptly canceled and they still charged our card. The outside of the building is a bit scary and unwelcoming. I'm glad we canceled but they should really reimburse us and adjust their advertising on the Booking App.

Yelp
This is probably one of the liveliest and most welcoming hostels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. We meant to only be here for a night but after the first night we fell in love with its charm and booked it for two more nights! There are quirky little William Wallace details strewn about the hostel. Whether in the logo or the signs warning you to wash your dishes before you feel the wrath of the lightning bolts from his arse, Wallace is well represented. The common room is chalk full of games, seats, tables, and usually people! There are a few outlets and extension chords allotted for the common room. WiFi is provided and they even have a Wii! It has a great community vibe and everyone hangs out together in the common area. I do have to warn you that this does make the Wi-Fi pretty slow so if you are antisocial and like to immerse yourself in the interwebs, such as ourselves, this may be an issue! The kitchen is fully stocked although does seem to lack a bit in space to keep your perishables. The refrigerator was packed! They even supply you with a small spice rack which is nice as most hostels are not this considerate. People seem to rotate pretty casually from the kitchen and there didn't appear to be any type of rush hour, which was a nice change of pace. The bedrooms are relatively quiet which is a rarity for hostels! The beds are comfortable enough and linen is provided. My only complaint is the lack of outlets! There appeared to be only two for the entire room. Luckily my bunk was right next to one! ;) My main issue was that our bedroom, room 1, is very close to the outside main street. There is a lot of bar activity in the area and each night we would be woken up somewhere between 1-3am by yelling. The first night it was just yelling and laughter, the second night sounded like a fight and we believe someone got hit by a car, and on the final night it appears that the entire bar decided to form a choir and belt out 'Bohemian Rhapsody' at the top of their lungs. While the third night was a bit entertaining, in general this noise really put a damper on our stay here. There are lockers available but they are pretty much only big enough for your wallet so everyone just leaves their stuff on their bunks. If you are paranoid, such as myself, about leaving your stuff about they do allow you to keep it behind the reception desk. The bathrooms are gender neutral and have mixed showers which was a nice touch. I really hate gender divided sleeping and bathing quarters. However, if you don't like mixed rooms this may not be a positive for you. The entire hostel was very clean without seeming like a hotel. The paint is warm, colorful, and welcoming. Almost feels like the building is giving you a hug! The staff were all very kind and helpful. It was nice how they seemed like any other hostel traveler as they hung out in the common room and cooked alongside us during their off time. They were all very approachable! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here in Stirling and that was greatly due to the Willy Wallace Hostel. We will certainly recommend and would stay again shall we ever return.

Yelp
Not the best. Bathrooms and dorms need a deep cleaning. We walked into our dorm and it smelled like body odour and feet. Showers stunk of mildew. Staff did not know the local area or where to park. We were driving around with our rental for a good 40 minutes because staff did not know how to give directions. The only thing this hostel had going for it was location.

Yelp
Stayed here for 1 night in a 12-bed mixed dorm room. The room was very basic. The linens were included in the cost of the room. There weren't many electrical outlets in the room for all 12 people, but it wasn't that big of a deal to me since I was only there for 1 night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You can store your luggage behind the front desk if needed (no charge). The lounge is very big and has couches, chairs & tables, a computer to get on the Internet, a TV, bunch of movies & even a Wii system. There's free Wifi for the guests as well. There's also a full kitchen you can use. The bathroom on the floor that I stayed on is a mixed bathroom (male & females) & shower. So, for females who are uncomfortable with sharing a bathroom with shower with males, keep this in mind. The hostel is located in a convenient location. It was very close to the Stirling train station, restaurants, bars, shops, etc. We walked to Stirling Castle from there and was able to take a bus to the Wallace Monument from there.
