Queer Eye’s Antoni Poroski, and More TV Royalty Headline at This Year’s BottleRock Culinary Stage | Eater SF

"On the Williams-Sonoma culinary stage the lineup is star-studded, with headliners Padma Lakshmi and Gail Simmons of Top Chef, Antoni Poroskio of Queer Eye, and country music icon Trisha Yearwood (also a cookbook author and food tv star); other highlights include Napa local Masaharu Morimoto (whose yearly appearances have become legendary), Travel Channel host Andrew Zimmern (and noted chef of the much-maligned Lucky Cricket), Top Chef personalities Richard Blais and the Voltaggio brothers, and Kelsey Barnard Clark joining her reality-show pals for the first time as part of her Top Chef Season 16 prize. The stage is known for comingle of chefs and musicians — last year it produced a world record for the biggest gin and juice with Snoop Dogg and Michael Voltaggio — and this year promises antics from Alice Cooper, Questlove, Big Boi, Too $hort, and Michael Franti, with NFL star Marshawn Lynch and WWE’s Bella Twins also appearing in likely don’t-miss segments." - Ellen Fort

I hate to leave a bad review, but I don't think what the employee did to me was very nice. I love checking the clearance section for sales and so I picked up some items there. One of the items was a pizza seasoning packet in a cute tin. At the counter the cashier paused and typed a lot of things when she got to this item. I paid and didn't think anything of it. Later, I noticed that the tin had two price tag stickers with the same item name and original price except it was two different discounted prices. I realized what the cashier did was scan the item, notice the price tags, and then chose to CHANGE THE PRICE TO THE HIGHER ONE. The price difference was from 2.99 to 3.73. She didn't communicate any of this to me. Again, each price tag sticker had the same item name and it scanned at the lower price so the cashier had to OVERRIDE IT. This behavior is not very nice and seems ridiculous considering the Williams-Sonoma brand is supposed to be premium.

Google
Dissapointed. They are always friendly at this store but unfortunately gave me a defective item when I ordered a ladle for pick up. This was a $63 spoon and they packed one for me that has a visible seam in the bowl of the spoon that is not pcitured on their listed item. This should never have been selected for me and is a bad business practice to knowingly sell a defected item. The item on the website has the bowl made from one piece of wood and the handle from another. This would make it worth the price. Unfortunately one that is pieced together is not nearly as valuable and I worry what the adhesive means for food safety.

Google
i love williams-sonoma products but i absolutely hate this store. most of the sales people are judgmental older caucasian ladies who treat people of color like we have never been in the kitchen and therefore don’t belong in the store. i was asked ‘can i help you, sir?’ which is great if you’re a man which i am not. on another occasion, my husband was asked if he needed a bag though i was the one making the purchase and handling the transaction. get a clue, old ladies! you should up your customer service game while i go spend my money at sur la table.

Google
It’s always a pleasure to shop here. We come every year for seasonal treats, and this is my go-to spot for gifts. But really, the staff are the best part. Betty in particular has helped me with pickup orders, going above and beyond to make it a smooth process for me.

Google
Response to the other reviewer mentioning color being the issue. Stop this victimhood mentality. I’m a white male and I’m treated the same way. Those workers just feel judgmental and snobby. I know this is a snob store and I should expect snotty, pretentious behavior, but it’s still not acceptable. They were happy and nice when I came in and spent a grand on an Espresso machine and a couple espresso cups. The glass cups are hand blown and one had a loose handle that came off. I came in literally a week later and the lady gave a lot of weird looks and I got the impression that she assumed I was lying. It was a completely different experience. I could tell that she didn’t even recognize me and she confirmed this when she asked how long I had the cup, and then oddly got me a replacement without looking at my receipt. You can’t just be nice when I’m spending money. It’s a tiny, cheap espresso cup, and it DID have a defect. Just ask me for my receipt and if I’d like a return or a replacement, smile and let us get on with our day. It’s not that hard. You work at Williams Sonoma. You’re not even allowed to be judgy, assuming, and pretentious, lol.

Google
My husband and I swung by Williams-Sonoma to look for a new cast iron skillet and the sales associate, Betty, was SO helpful and kind to us. She was so great with helping us find the one we needed, and we ended up getting two haha. We even chatted about coffee and she served us an espresso drink and told us about different espresso machines. Truly a great experience and Betty was the best. Love this store!

Google
Gorgeous store with all the cooking and entertaining pizazz you want to look at again and again, and buy! but only if you have room in the kitchen. Ah yes, I do love that their wooden spoons (and pretty much everything else) will say Williams-Sonoma on them, but the tag will disclose made in China or made in Italy, etc. so you can make an informed decision about what to buy. I love the newer William Morris design items, and the colorful cotton or linen napkins are as luxurious as you would hope them to be. Browse Le Creuset, All-Clad, and more. Pick up a new set of veggie peelers for yourself or a neighbor. They have Madagascar vanilla and other specialty tidbits. It's great. However, there is something of a vibe here, and if you remember the Pretty Woman movie where Julia goes shopping with cash in hand, and how that went, it's a little bit like that. Even so, I wouldn't hesitate to shop here as long as I walked in the door packing confidence and focus, determined to be unphased while browsing the array of delightful goods.

Google
I do not like live in Fort Worth. Ordered this gift for my son and my new daughter in law for Christmas. Called the store twice to make sure it was going to be just right. Paid for gift wrap. They never notified them that they had a gift ready to pick up. ( I was told they would contact them). When I finally called them to go get it and they opened it, this is what they got.

Yelp
Stopped in recently to pick up a new coffee machine and ended up grabbing some Earl Grey tea as well. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped me with the tea; she was wonderful. They didn't have any Earl Grey on display, so she went out of her way to check the back and brought some out for me. I really appreciated that extra effort! We usually visit the Southlake location since it's closer to home, but we'll definitely be back here too. Every Williams-Sonoma visit is a treat, and this one was no exception. Always a pleasure to shop where great products meet genuinely helpful service.

Yelp
This location is meh. Any time me or my family visit, we're rarely greeted or assisted. When I visit William Sonoma, I'm usually ready to buy, and don't have a lot of time to waste. So, when I'm at this location it always bothers me that what should be a 10 minute shopping experience can easily turn into a 30-40 minute ordeal. I usually have to visit the Southlake location to get what I want in a timely manner which is more of a hassle since the Fort Worth store is closer to my home.

Yelp
Leaving a review at this specific store just to warn people against giving the entire business any of your money. Returns are impossible and the customer service agents really don't care. I won't be shopping with them ever again.

Daniel E.

Yelp
Great staff. They were welcoming, funny, felt like good old southern hospitality. Decent price on three metal mixing bowls, pleasant experience.

Yelp
Drove 45 miles to pickup Plymouth Bird dinner (5) plates that were on hold for me in-store. When I arrived the store associates had put back a combination of Plymouth Turkey plates AND Plymouth Bird plates. So sadly there were not the total of 5 plates I thought were available. It was a long drive to be disappointed because employees don't know their products, and at these prices they should!!!! I'm being generous with 4 stars because the employees are friendlier than the North Park location.

Yelp
This store was amazing! The staff were so friendly and helpful. They spent so much time searching thru boxes with us to help us find all of the items we needed.

Yelp
Came in just to do some browsing and left with a Bee pattern bowl that's pretty freaking awesome. Service was ok once one of the associates started helping us it was kicked into high gear from there she was good.

M. H.

Yelp
I bought the nesting mixing bowls for the second time. I loved the first set I bought and they lasted forever. Unfortunately the second set did not last long. They have a defect that the bowl would crack and send dime-size pieces of the bowl into your food when used in the microwave. I took the bowls back into the store and they said they have a 30-day warranty. Needless to say I am very disappointed. It seems like this should be a safety issue?

Yelp
SAME REVIEW I GAVE THE SOUTHLAKE STORE because my wife was treated the same way. Absolutely terrifyingly and completely awful customer service. Hands down the most despicable experience I've ever had at a retail store, and I've shopped in the best. I arrived one hour after opening and I was one of 2 people in the store with 6 employees working. All ran to the back except the two at the counter. The poorly bleached blond beyond-her-years Southlake McMansion employee looked me up and down like she was the Cheerleader Captain and I just stepped on her homecoming mum (or just hid her oxycontin). I had to go to the back storage area door and break up the gossip fest employee party to receive my online order. My wife visited the Fort Worth/TCU store the day before and received the exact same treatment. When I returned home I sent their online customer service a nice letter and asked for someone to call me. Well, the district manager phoned the next day and between interrupting her conversation with me by talking to her employees while telling me they strive for 100% customer attentiveness. I suddenly realized that this whole company is run by the previously mentioned sort of person, it's a top down thing obviously. My mother worked at the WS TCU store for years after retiring from teaching 2nd grade for 30+ years. Funny thing is she won all the district sales awards simply by being nice and asking customers what she could do for them, ha ha! Imagine that - being kind and attentive! So, suffice it to say, I nor anyone in my family will stepping foot in the stores nor ordering from them online. Sur La Table in Southlake is directly across the street and will be receiving all our business from now on. I actually went to this store before the above experience and was greeted by two incredibly nice gentlemen as soon as I walked in the door and was pointed to exactly what I needed at a lower price than WS, ha! Sur La Table in Southlake 1151 E Southlake Blvd Suite 340, Southlake, TX 76092 (817) 416-6257

Yelp
It has been many years since I was treated in such a condescending and rude judgmental manner by anyone. While I didn't know it was a requirement of a retail worker to assume anyone not flashing their cash or a black card couldn't afford to shop.... I didn't think we still show those judgements out loud in 2023. But if you have missed the experience of being talked down to and treated as though you should have known better then to speak to the retail worker. well then, TCU William Sonoma is the place for you. Just ask about the stove.

Yelp
While I didn't make my purchase yet, my husband and I had a wonderful experience in-store last weekend. Team member Laura was helpful and pleasant to work with, and happy to help us build a list to purchase at a later date for our new home build. She was still fairly new so also brought in a teammate more knowledgeable about coffee makers when we had questions. (I didn't catch her name, but she was an avid coffee drinker with much wisdom, and very helpful!) Great staff, great store!

Yelp
Buyers beware: returns R nearly impossible with WS these day, can't return to store due to Covid 19; WS will charge return fee and website to request return does not work. CS email does not response in over 6 days; CS call hold time is about 35-40 mins. The days of great customer service from WS have been over for last few years. Buy from other companies with better pricing and stand behind their products.

Yelp
My brother and I usually come here to find gifts for my sister in law and typically the service is okay, at least moderately welcoming. This last time, the service was horrible. We were pretty much ignored when trying to pay and even while paying at the register the lady honestly paid more attention to the man on the other side of the counter rather than us. Yes, he's buying an icecream maker and we're just getting two items but that doesn't mean you can ignore us. Nothing here is cheap and all we ask for is respect and at least some attention given that we were currently doing a transaction. Overall the products are nice and durable. The service on the other hand could be improved... a lot. Treat others how you want to be treated; I'm always nice and respectful and being blatantly ignored is just wrong.

Yelp
Cheapest Williams-Sonoma visit EVER! And the quickest! I always browse at Williams-Sonoma and end up with something I didn't plan on but found I couldn't live without. Not this trip. Walked in the store and was greeted pleasantly. Said "No, thank you," when asked if I needed help and proceeded in the general direction I knew the items I was looking for were kept, browsing along the way. Was told by same person that they could help me find what I was looking for, and again said "No, thank you". After getting a look that indicated I really wasn't welcome to browse. I immediately went to the section where the items I was looking for were kept, only to find they didn't have what I wanted. Left immediately.

Yelp
I went to the TCU Williams-Sonoma yesterday to get a replacement for a pricy vegetable peeler that I had bought with a Christmas gift card last year. I really liked the peeler and have always washed it by hand (not in the dishwasher). While peeling potatoes for potato soup this past weekend, the cutter blade broke off the handle. I assumed the store would replace it for me since the peeler was defective. Buyer beware. The Team member informed me that they don't refund/replace anything that has been purchased more than 30 days.

Yelp
Above-and-beyond service. I was in a real bind after a website order for a bunch of aprons from W-S was repeatedly delayed over the period of a month. I tried to work with customer service at the W-S website and got nowhere. The aprons were to be hostess gifts for my daughter's bridal shower and when the delay was pushed to beyond the date of the shower I was in a real bind. Chelsea, the general manager at the University store in Fort Worth, went out of her way to find enough aprons for me by contacting several WS stores in the DFW area, then once she acquired them arranged to complete the sale on a day when I could take advantage of a 20 percent off sale. She was pleasant, polite and genuinely seemed happy to be able to help me. W-S has great products, but if I'd been left with just the website experience I would have not been a happy customer. I will now be a faithful customer of the Fort Worth store for life.

Yelp
Williams Sonoma made a traumatic experience a lot more bearable tonight ! It was time to give up on Keurig coffee makers and move on to something better. Adriana was very helpful as I was so lost on which Williams Sonoma coffee maker to purchase. She was knowledgeable about most all the questions I had about the various machines and anything she wasn't sure of, she was more than anxious to find out for me. She eased me into a new world with patience AND kindness and for that I'm so appreciative. The new WS machine I purchased is PERFECT for my needs and her expertise on the Espresso one has made me decide to purchase that one also eventually. I'm very pleased with my purchase and the exemplary customer service I received and the many cups of coffee I sampled while testing the machines !!!!

Yelp
Mary Jacque was SO helpful! The store was super busy with the Christmas rush and she still took the time to help me find exactly what I was needing. She is THE best!

Yelp
I'm being generous with my one star rating. Don't get me wrong, the merchandise is beautifully laid out, high quality, I would love buy everything! The staff should get 1/2 a star at the most as I was the only customer in the store but was treated as if they had 100. Two salespeople were talking to each other as I approached them and nicely asked where I could find what I was looking for. One of the salespersons pointed to an area I could look for the item, and then resumed her conversation with her coworker. I looked in the suggested area, didn't find what I was looking for and made a mental note to check Sur Le Table for it. I walked around the whole store to see if I would like to buy something else, and not once did a salespeople ask if they could assist me. They just continued talking to each other. I felt very devalued as a customer!! As I was leaving I said goodbye and there was no response.

Yelp
My husband purchased some beautiful wooden cookware for me for Christmas, however I needed to exchange the rolling pin. I purchased a more suitable rolling pin online that I like much better and was more expensive. I went to the store to take back the one that wouldn't work. When I tried to return with an original receipt "Joyce" said I would only get store credit because it was a gift. I tried to explain to Joyce that I already bought a different rolling pin online therefore I didn't need store credit and wanted what the receipt promises, which is a full refund, not merch credit. She kept saying "But its a gift." Im wondering if I'm being filmed at this point as it is becoming comical to me because I have the ACTUAL receipt, not a gift receipt. So I say "Ok then, I bought it." And she got an ugly unprofessional attitude and said "Well, if you want to be dishonest..." What?!? I'm about to lol at this point thinking this has got to be a joke. But, sadly it wasn't. And she had another lady issue the refund and turned away in a huff. This isn't Walmart customer service (where I might expect this poor behavior), it's William Sonoma (where you pay enough to expect behavior that rises to the standard of the product they sell.) I won't be purchasing anymore because of this absurd experience.

Yelp
The only location in Fort Worth and it is great. For the business, it is ideally located. It's on University, in University Park. University is a busy street and parking at University Park is a nightmare. My advice, park in the first spot you see! All of those reasons are why it's not ideally located for customers. I came here because I needed a Mother's Day gift for my mom so it was worth the hassle. Any other day, if I just wanted to shop, I'd avoid this area on the weekends. Even during the weekdays during lunch time it is a mess. I came here knowing exactly what I needed. I was buying a specific cast iron pan for my mom. Although I knew exactly what I needed and they did have it in stock, the selection was small. I thought I would arrive there and there would be many choices swaying what I would eventually buy. Oh well, at least I got what I came for. The staff members were helpful and knowledgeable too. There is a gift wrapping station at the back of this store which is a nice touch! You don't actually wrap your gifts there but you cut the paper, ribbon, grab a gift box, or whatever they have and take it home to literally gift wrap at home. This store has so much so browsing around you will find many items you want to buy, that I resisted. Great store, just the other aspects of the location make it not perfect. I went during lunch, which I do not advise (see above). I think because they know lunch time is a busy time, they actually had sample of food items prepared for sampling. This isn't a food store but they do have a few sauces, drink mixes, and coffee items. They had small pizza slices which were good. They were promoting the pizza sauce that I cannot recall, but it didn't blow my mind so I passed. I like my organic pizza sauce from CM. They also had a spicy margarita mix which was SO SPICY. I like spicy things and this took me by surprise. I had to drink some water afterwards as the spice lingered in my throat and was making me cough.

Yelp
Exquisite store w\ speciality cookware, electronics, tools neatly displayed. Karen M is store starlet executing cooking technique classes on Sunday. I honor Karen. She teaches how to cook, use cookware and gadgets and appliances and shares her broad range knowledge of selecting ingredients, baking & cooking while showcasing delicious & DOABLE recipes at home. This humble beauty knows her craft. Example was Farmers Market. Karen brought in local farmers, talked about selecting quality cooked and taught me too much to itemize here. Thanks Karen and after class participants get 20% off an item to shop the store.

Micki S.

Yelp
Service is horrible. Ignored completely. Several - maybe half a dozen - employees on a Saturday and only one person checking customers out ...with a frown. Sadly I will not be going back despite how much I love their products - as customer service is a must!

Betsy W.

Yelp
I purchased a small set of All Clad on your web site for my daughter for Christmas! She is getting married next fall and I thought she could use a starter set and add to it via her wedding selections which she has not made yet. She said she already had one of the pans and made the decision to return it and purchase other items. The Houston store told her the easiest way would be to credit my account and have her pay for her new items. Easier for "who"? The sales associates? Certainly not the customer! It would be easier for the customer if the gift recipient was given the money to spend or at least given a gift card. It appears brick and mortar stores are struggling and in order to stay relevant they must give the very best customer service! I am very dissatisfied with Williams Sonoma and am encouraging my daughter to make her selections elsewhere! I might add the customer service at the Fort Worth store is terrible as well!

Melisa S.

Yelp
Never will I EVER shop here again! I bought a crepe pan and spent good money for the pan and after using it a hand full of times it started to rust in the middle. Never put it in my dishwasher always washed it by hand and dried and put away. I called the store and asked if I could bring the pan in and exchange for another one and got told NO! I bought some pot holders from here also and went to use them and burn my hand also tried returning them and got told NO! Customer service is absolutely horrible! Management does not care about customer service!! Never again will I shop at William Sonoma on University or any other William Sonoma in the country. Good luck with your business because I will not be BACK!

Michael A.

Yelp
So sorry to say my last trip to Williams-Sonoma will probably be the last, at least to the Fort Worth location. The store had no other customers at the time we entered, however we, both my husband and I, were completely ignored-that is until my husband began perusing chef's knives. I was looking for specialty dipping olive oil and cooking utensils, some that even after 50 years of marriage, I still don't have. I continued to be ignored even after placing several items to purchase on the side of the counter. My husband,of course, was assisted but I went on without so much as an acknowledgement by any employee. He picked the knife he wanted, which had to be ordered and I went on unassisted! Wow! Way to make friends and influence people. I bought my oil-a special reserve at a high price, and as we headed for the door spotted food processors. We had given our original processor to our daughter so were looking at possibly purchasing a new one-one a little more user friendly for us 'old 'folk'. My husband and I stood by the equipment for 10-15 minutes discussing the pros and cons of each item and not once were we asked if needed assistance. They probably would have made a $249.00+ sale had anyone bothered to ask if we needed help. Oh well, W/S. You just lost two customers, and judging by what we encountered, I am sure we are not the only dissatisfied in the Metroplex. The only reason, and I mean only reason you get one star is for the merchandise you carry. Thanking you for your thoughtfulness during our recent trip to your store.

Yelp
I fancy myself a wannabe chef and this place is a mecca. It has gleaming copper pots and pans, every kitchen gadget you can imagine, Le Creuset galore and in every color you could possibly need to match whatever your decor is in your kitchen. They usually have someone who is doing a cooking demo and making delicious food. There's also someone making cappuccinos in a Nespresso machine that taste glorious, but the machine is a easy 500$. They used to carry a line of food prep, baking mixes etc by David Chang, but stopped. They also used to have cheeky things such as Star Wars pancake molds, spatulas and other geeky stuff but they've also stopped selling those. Now it's all fancy pants and no geekery. I like to come here for gifts and always to browse to find something I didn't know I needed.

Yelp
If you love cooking, high-end expensive kitchen appliances and dining plates... This is the place for you! They have everything you could possibly want and need for your home! Staff is friendly and helpful but I took off one star for the size of this location... It is rather small but still great to shop at.

Yelp
On Monday, 9 December 2013, an elderly woman and I arrived at the same time at the University Village store location. The weather had been sub-freezing with ice for a number of days, but was clear enough that the other businesses were up and running and the parking lot was close to full. I arrived at 10:53am. The staff was there and lights were on, but the door was locked. At first we thought it was a mistake, as there was no late opening post. One of the young men came to the door and stuck his head out and said: "We are opening at 11am. Go have coffee somewhere and come back later." The elderly woman told him she would go elsewhere, and I told him that he would lose two sure sales. He looked at us, closed the door, re-locked it, and walked away. In the past, the staff has been friendly and helpful, but this young man was rude. I posted on their Facebook page, and it was promptly deleted. Absolutely no attempt to reach out to a longtime, regular customer to try and rectify this situation. Sadly, the only thing that will probably change is my loyalty to this store.
