Yelp
Williams Sonoma...you sweet, sweet seductress.
How is it that I always end up in here spending my hard-earned money on ridiculously overpriced kitchen goodies? I have long been a kitchen whore... meaning that our kitchen is packed to the gills with all types of 'must-haves'...like that cool avocado slicer, a pancake batter bowl with the special pouring spout, $12 pastel Easter spatulas, the potato masher I use once a year.
So yeah, it's obvious that WS is like a kitchen den of iniquity for me...as such I try to hardly enter the place. Because the wallet IS a lot lighter upon my exit and in these recessionary times, I really don't need more pastel spatulas.
However, I have to give them props for the ultimate in seduction... exclusive colors of Kitchen Aid Artisans that line their expensive walls and grace their simple webpages.
I was all set to pay $200 for a refurbished industrial stainless steel KA on the Amazon website, to replace the 12 year old model that I blew up earlier this year making brioche (mmmm!)....WHEN lo and behold, my online-eye spies the Grass Green KA Artisan on the WS website. An exclusive color you cannot find elsewhere... a lovely blend of leaf and moss greens. Gosh, I was lost.
$300 AMEX reward points later....a pal is in the shop purchasing their last one with her 20% discount. WOOT. Thanks Sugar B...my new darling winks at me from it's new home on the counterop and begs to be caressed on a daily basis.
Thanks to this latest acquisition WS will forever be first in my kitchen-implement loving heart, even with their ridiculous prices. Oh yeah and you have to love the staff, they are always nothing but friendly, and fabulous about putting goodies on hold for me to come in a later date. They must be able to smell my addiction through the phone, curses!
