I am a Bonvoy Titanium Elite member and stayed for three nights. Unfortunately, this was perhaps my worst Marriott stay in my years as a Marriott Bonvoy loyalty member. First, I booked my room, a deluxe king, in December of 2024. Upon check in, I was told they didn’t have the room I booked. We were not given any sort of compensation for not having said room. We were given a 2 Queen room instead.
It look a very long time to check in and no apology was given for the lengthiness.
We were given no explanation of on-site amenities. We didn’t know there was an on-site golf course until the last day of our stay, and did not know shuttle buses were on site to take us to the wedding events we were attending, so we paid for Ubers instead.
From the moment we arrived, we put our do not disturb knob hangers on our doors. Each morning, we were awoken by a knock at the door.
When we asked for water bottles (with intent to purchase), we were told they were completely out of water bottles at the desk.
We called on our second day, which we was supposed to be out check out day, and asked for extend our stay another night. I asked if I should do it through the app or if the phone call to the desk was sufficient. I was told my phone call was sufficient. Upon checkout on our third day, I received a folio with the third night being $299. When I had checked the Marriott app, it was $233. I asked the desk why there was such a discrepancy and was told the Marriott app was wrong.
After calling to extend our stay, we were called twice within the hour asking when we would be departing our room. I told them we had extended our stay for an extra night, but if I had not done so, we had a 4pm late checkout which I had requested in the app before checking in. They told us they had to record of a late check out.
We were not asked upon check in of what our welcome gift selection was or any other mention of perks for being a Marriott Bonvoy member.
I am not typically one to complain, and have only done so once before about a newer Marriott property that was still getting its ducks in a row (which I otherwise enjoyed). However, this is a longstanding property that I spent over $1,000 on during my stay and felt that it completely fell short of a Marriott property, especially for a renowned Autograph Collection property.
