When planning our road trip a year ago, we decided to book the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel. Unfortunately when we arrived, we were told that the local law school had booked out many of the rooms for their students, and that we had been moved to the sister hotel, the Williamsburg Lodge. We weren’t too pleased, as we hadn’t been made aware of this change prior to our arrival.|However, on arrival at our new accommodation, we were very impressed by both the location (very close to the historic sites) and also the decor and ambiance of the Lodge, especially the lounge area. Our room was enormous and very well appointed….and the bed was extremely comfortable.|We were also most impressed by the delightful staff we encountered. Tina, the concierge, was very helpful when we asked for guidance on visiting both Jamestown and Yorktown. As the hotel has a restaurant open for dinner, we decided to visit it on each of our three nights, especially as the food was delicious. In addition, the staff we met there couldn’t have been nicer. Haylee, the hostess was so friendly, as were our two servers, Bryen and Chris. All three were students who were working there to help them out while they were still studying, and we want to wish them all well in their future careers. I also want to say a big thank you to Mark, one of the bellboys, who took us into town twice so that we could visit the local sites…very much appreciated.|All in all, we were glad that we were moved and would highly recommend the Williamsburg Lodge to anyone who is thinking of booking it. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
