"Steps away from historic Colonial Williamsburg, brick buildings connected by covered walkways make up this "charming lodge" designed in the 1930s by the Rockefellers. Interiors are characterized by folk art, original bluestone floors, and cypress accents. "Gorgeous British colonial–style rooms have spa-like bathrooms," a palette of reds and blues, and quilted beds. At the restaurant, indulge in contemporary American cuisine that is "nothing short of gourmet," with an emphasis on Chesapeake seafood and local wines. "Staff, from the doorman to the desk help, are very helpful and gracious." The spa is "everything a spa should be" and includes aromatherapy rooms and whirlpools."

Beautiful property right in the heart of Williamsburg. The rooms are well appointed and the property has several nice places to eat. The property can be a bit tricky to navigate because the rooms are located on different named buildings but there is good signage. Being winter, we didn't explore much of any other on property amenities but our stay was lovely and being walking distance to downtown was such a plus!

Had a wonderful weekend stay at the Williamsburg Lodge. The location, just steps away from the historic area was great. The resort is large, so some locations require more walking than others. Parking in the underground garage was easy and felt safe. The staff was terrific, always friendly and very attentive (upon arrival, the electronic panel on the safe had been ripped off; 2 ladies from reception stopped by to see if they could help, right as maintenance also came). There were a few little maintenance/cleanliness issues, but it was a very nice stay. I look forward to returning in the future.

When you enter, a gorgeous flower arrangement greets you. Tina was great, very helpful and knowledgeable! My husband was injured and had to go to multiple areas just to find ice- one ice machine was broken and the other had NO ice. Annoying that this was not filled with ice. Also an inconvenience: all of the sandwiches/burrito options at their only little cafe was not available at 8am on a Sunday so we had to have a sit down breakfast next door. The hotel bed was too hard for me and not comfortable for me. The couple and kids next door were arguing and talking so loudly very early in the morning...7am or earlier on a Saturday...we could hear them very clearly as if they were in our own room. The room was a decent size, pretty big. The indoor pool we had to ourselves and was heated and big. The free shuttle we only ended up using once. I asked for more towels which they delivered immediately. They did not give us water but other guests were given water. This is more like a 3/5 star review.

Rooms are large and well maintained. However, the walls are paper thin, so you will here every conversation of the neighbouring rooms. The bathroom had a door that wouldn't easily close, as it sagged along the ground. Also the gym is across the street, but is quite nice. Also note there is no place other than the gym to get cool filtered water for water bottles The ice machine on the first floor of tazewell was not working.

This clearly used to be a nice hotel. Now it just seems outdated. The rooms are musty and lack any accommodations. The staff has been less than helpful. It has just been a really disappointing experience.

Rooms were ok as best for the price. They were clean and efficient with a safe and refrigerator in the room. View of the parking lot. But the main lobby was super cute that also houses the breakfast restaurant and the dinner restaurant as well as the store. The breakfast buffet consists of coffee, tea, juice, scrambled eggs, bacon oats or grits and an assortment of pastries, fruit and cereal. Dinner was yummy, husband had the lamb special, I had the the smoked chicken with brussel sprouts and succotash that were excellent. Not a lot of chicken but I ordered for the veggies and didn't eat the chicken. The nachos with pulled pork were excellent. Biggest issue was the outdoor elevator that has a very funky smell. I world suggest remi the carpeting and adding a nonporous nonslip surface.

It is the place which is the combination of modern architecture and old traditional architecture. Definitely provide clean room and smiling greeting. Also I highly suggest to have a breakfast at traditional restaurant and listen the living music in sweet and barley restaurant

My family and I just spent 4 nights at the Williamsburg Lodge. My wife and I had stayed here years ago and loved it then which is why we specifically chose to stay here. The lodge has a very classic historic look, there's none of that ultra-modern look that you'd see in a lot of other hotels. That's part of the Lodges charm, and after all it is right up from the street from Colonial Williamsburg so the colonial look fits in well. We opted to upgrade to a balcony room which was a great decision, the balcony rooms are towards the end of the hotel which made for a very quiet, peaceful room. We had breakfast at Traditions twice and our server was amazing, she was very attentive and so sweet to our kids. There are 2 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool with a hot tub, one of my favorite things was that one of the outdoor pools was a serenity pool which is meant to be quieter...it was very relaxing at the end of the day. I also used the gym for early morning workouts before we started our days, it was kept clean and the equipment was pretty new and well maintained. Overall I'd say one of my favorite things about the Williamsburg Lodge is the proximity to Colonial Williamsburg, I would walk out of the hotel, down the sidewalk for a minute, cross the street and be in the historic area...no need to even move the car out of the hotel parking area. That close distance made it ideal for evening walks through the historic area after it cooled down a little outside. My family and I absolutely love the Williamsburg Lodge and have every intention of staying there again in the future. Highly recommended!
