The kids were clamoring for afternoon churros, and while I was ready to find the nearest cart, my friend Lily F. knew better. She lead the way to Willie's Churros, near the entrance of California Adventure. I guess not all Disney churros are created equal, and this one is the reputed best on this side of the parks.
There was a pretty long line when we got there, longer than any I'd seen at other, less well-regarded Disney churro carts. It moved quickly, though, as the people working the register knew what they were doing. We got five churros for four adults and three children, a healthy/unhealthy amount of sugar-crusted deep-fried dough.
The cart advertised that its churros were "Delivered Daily!", making me wonder if all the others were slinging stale, three-day-old churros. In any case, these were wonderful, fresh and addictive, crispy on the outside with soft, chewy middles.
My boys are churro fiends, and it's possible they enjoy Disneyland as much for the churros as for the rides. I don't think they're picky about their churros, but I'll definitely bring them back to Willie's, especially if I want one of my own.
