Willie's Joint BAR and GRILL

We absolutely fell in love with Willies Joint. Shout out to Marina at the bar. She was amazing. We were a little confused about where to order food at first but we figured it out. They do have food trucks but I highly suggest ordering from the bar. I cannot speak highly enough about the food. It was top tier! Thank you so much Willies Joint. We can't wait to go back.

The atmosphere is, what makes this with the outdoor venue? Amid the large oak trees, big screen t vs, dog friendly, children friendly environment.

We came in at 6p on a Sunday. The staff behind the bar were very friendly. They had an East Austin Cider on tap (blood orange) which was awesome. We got the b.y.o burger. There's no gluten free bun option nor a lettuce wrap which was a bummer. They brought out the patty in a food container and then another container with shredded lettuce/tomato/pickle/onion. I had a b.y.o burger with the bun. Both patties and buns were good, veggies were crispy. We got an order of tater tots and fries. The tots were crispy and yummy. The fries were terrible, not seasoned and not crispy at all.

I had a wonderful time here. I went on a Friday and they had karaoke going on. It started at 8p. It was kid friendly! I had some tacos from a food truck. They also had crawfish going in another area.

Riding back from Bastrop TX and stopped in here for some hangover relief. Good beer and even better chicken tenders! Definitely worth your time!

Food was good. I git steak fingers and a few IPA's. Drinks are pricey for a small town bar. About $10 plus tip for a 10oz draft beer. My biggest complaint is the bartenders. They were not happy at all to serve my friends & I. We came sunday night. We were just a quiet group and we all tipped well. Still, they treated us poorly. I hate to complain as someone who works in the service industry, but if these ladies don't want to bartend, they might consider another profession.

Great food! It's been since covid that I've actually tasted for this good!! The pictures I posted are the Ribeye tacos with queso and chips. The other pic is the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and street corn. Both were very delicious!!

The best place to spend time outside. They have water fans in the summer which makes it possible to be outside, shade from the oaks and fire places in the winter. Just magical and great for kids, there’s a playground, coffee, food.

Careful not to order crawfish. 1. They weigh the crawfish with the water, you're paying for the water, which weighs more than the crawfish. You're not buying 2lbs of crawfish, you're buying 1lb of crawfish and 1 lb of water and paying for 2 lbs period! It's a rip off! 2. The crawfish is muddy as hell, not cleaned properly, which means, you will get a throat infections needle guaranteed. 3. Overpriced compared to everyone else selling crawfish 4. Here... sit outside, so you can get eaten by mosquitoes. 5. If you can find a place to sit. 6. And if you do find a place to sit, the table is gonna be completely dirty. 7. Unleashed random dogs everywhere cute if you're at a park, not cute if you're trying to eat overpriced crawfish.

We came again to Willie's since it's close to our home and we had a heavy day. The weather was great, they were setting up a stage for karaoke, I wish we could have stayed because it seems fun and I love karaoke The service this time wasn't as usual, nothing rude or bad drinks, the bartender this time wasn't an older gentleman that wasn't as friendly as the other bartenders we had in the past. We all go through ups and downs so we wouldn't blame him over anything. We will still go back because we like the ambiance and the drinks...cheers!

The outdoor ambiance is cool. Just don't recommend the food from Willie's. First time we got the burger, and it came out extremely hot and greasy. It basically took forever to cool because of how greasy it was. Second time we came, we ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich..... that sandwich was not spicy at all. It seriously tasted like a plain old chicken sandwich. So I think the name is extremely misleading. If you want to just sit outside and have alcohol, then this place is probably fine for you. Just beware of the food...

I'm a little disappointed with the quality of their crawfish. They seemed old and I had too many in the 5 pounds that I got that were inedible. They were seasoned pretty well so when I did have a crawfish that was decent, it was good. But most of them just Seemed old and not fresh. Maybe they were previously frozen or cooked too long or just not fresh. The atmosphere is nice, it's pretty much all outdoor seating and the guy taking orders at the bar was super nice. I just don't think I'll be back.

We came here on Sunday and loved it! Their snow crab was solid, and my fiancé liked her Willie's BBQ Burger as well (as did I). They also had nice and more than ample outdoor seating, with TVs, cover in the event of rainfall, and cornhole too. It was a fun time!

Food was perfect crawfish back to $45 for 5lbs and very reasonable after all I do tip on top of that and was plenty for two of us. Very flavorful able the best in Buda we are so lucky yo have you close by. I must say that I did feel sorry for the band setting up as they were in the SUN I feel that Willie's should definitely rethink that situation before it gets hotter. I felt so sorry for them. Maybe it's possible to have fans moving the air for them too like in the picture. This is a family environment and we do enjoy coming here and people watching. There is two trailers that offer food and also Willie's joint itself has food options. Love this place a fantastic hangout close by my house

Love the outdoor seating, tvs, bar and food and coffee trucks. We come here to watch sports because they have a playground for kids - genius. Service inside is great and outside service is hit or miss. Haven't tried the Eastside boilers food but I'm a vegetarian and trying to go vegan, so it's whatever. Drinks are good and ambiance is great. Lights in trees and seasonal decor are great.

Dirty! Swing Set is an accident & law suite waiting to happen.. witnessed a 2 yr old get kicked by and older kid on the swing, told management a nothing. I guess they are waiting for someone to get seriously hurt.. will never come back!

They treat you very well for your first time! The happy hour margaritas are a steal! $5 for a full glass of a marg. The food is a bit on the oily side but that is expected for a place like this

The food and atmosphere was great. Tried the cordon blue chicken sandwich and onion rings which were both amazing. They had a fun selection of cocktails and all the staff were very kind and attentive.

The fires were too hot and big and burning me, the back counter people were unwelcoming and ungrateful

We visited Willie's for a crawfish cookoff to see who makes the best boil in Austin area. The place is mainly all outdoors with patio seatings, but there are plenty of tables with shade from many huge trees onsite. They do have a small indoor section with AC. Because it's small, we couldn't get seats inside but that wasn't an issue since we didn't bring our dog. Two other parties had their dogs with them and it was really nice to see they allow dogs inside since most businesses don't allow this and our poor pups shouldn't have to suffer this crazy TX heat. They also sell ice cream inside for humans and pups! Our favorite crawfish winner was Eastside Boilers, who actually sells at Willie's every Thu through Sun. Their normal menu price is a bit on the high side, $12 for a lb or $9/lb if you buy 5lbs. This late in the season, others are selling for $5-6/lb so would be great to see them drop their price according to market prices. I took off a star because of the higher price and also the event advertised 12 boilers competing, but when we arrived they only had 6. We're definitely going to visit this event every year because it ended up being a really good deal, we probably did end up eating about 4-5lbs of crawfish for the $35 tasting ticket.

Fun outdoor bar and great crawfish! Kid and pet friendly! Went for the crawfish tournament and loved it.

Amazing mixed veggies yall! They're getting a 5 based on welcoming employees and friendly environment. I would say that their main courses are the best, but my husband liked the wings and I loved their veggies we will come back. Their fried appetizer portions are a bit on the large size, so watch out!

Hubbie had shrimp tacos w/street corn and coleslaw & said it was really good. Had wines at happy hour w/very good prices. I had Texas Chop Salad. My chicken was under cooked & when our waitress, Cassie, checked on us my husband told her my chicken was not thoroughly cooked. She immediately took it to the kitchen & said she would tell her manager. Came back & asked if I wanted a free dessert. I said no. They gave me the replacement salad free. BTW, their tortillas are fabulous! They have a secret ingredient. Would return!

Love the outdoor area for the kids to run around. Our food was good. Just had over all good experience. Our server was excellent

My husband and I have stopped here twice on our way from the Austin airport to San Marcos for a Sunday evening crawfish fix. Seems like a fun place to hang out with friends and/or family. We enjoyed the crawfish and the outdoor venue. The staff are friendly and they have a decent selection of beer and mixed drinks.

This is a fun spot to hang out with local Budans. Bartender has been there for years. Families come to hang out and watch football games. There's beer pong. Drinks are strong and the food is good. Love the onion rings. Beware of going inside because you'll be met with tons of delicious goodies for those of us born in the 90s!! Cookie ice cream sandwiches, Twix bars , all the good stuff! They even have dog ice cream which I highly recommend! I gave one to each of my dogs and it kept them busy for a good 10-12 min. Love this local spot

This is a great local spot. Service can be spotty, and the food is pretty pricy. We miss the old food trucks!

I don't know why it has taken us this long to find this gem of a bar, wonderful spread out seating, great food, and good drinks. We will be coming back regularly, love these outdoor venues.

Crab and Crawfish were so salty and overcooked that they were inedible. Atmosphere is noisy and unrelaxing with kids running around screaming. No servers, so everything is counter service. After paying $70 for food for 2 people and 2 beers, we had to leave and order a pizza at Main Street Pizza (which is a great restaurant). We had to try Willie's to know what is was like, but sadly won't be going back.

Great vibes! Live music, big shady trees, good food. A fun spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a few drinks.

Update - it's not the bar's fault that certain people suck at parenting their children. This bar is really great later in the evening, or on a weeknight.

Have been wanting to go here for a while. Stopped in for lunch. If you ever read my reviews you know I do not usually enter a bad review. I simply choose not to go back and do not review the place. However this place got me feeling that their practices are misleading and others should know. We ordered two cheese burgers, a app. 2 beers and ome margarita. Bill was $61.88 before a tip????? This seems excessive based upon menu prices for lunch so when we looked at our bill, we saw we were charged $7.50 for Fritos??? I told the waitress we did not order $7.50 worth of Fritos, we did not have any Fritos. She told us it was a COVID law that food has to be a percent of the alcohol bill so they charged random chips to customers without their knowledge to meet this alleged law. No one told us this was going to be on our bill, food we did not order, and did not receive? When questioned she could not tell me the percent and why our food did not go against this percent. Told us we could wait until the manager came in an hour from now. I just got my bill and was ready to leave, why would I want to wait an hour??? Service was poor as we never received any water, silverware, or napkins until we asked after our food was delivered. I am very disappointed in what appeared to be a nice outdoors bar and grill we were looking forward to frequenting as we live here. I definitely will not be back and Can NOT recommend!

We found Willie's from Eastside Broilers. The perfect spring weekend includes slurping crawfish, throwing back drinks, and enjoying sunshine. Coming inside Willie's bar looks a bit sketch, as it's behind an ominous brown door, no signage. However, basic beers are also served outside in the yard for a quick grab. Patio seating is a PLENTY! Warning: Buda is located outside the Austin perimeters, so expect the crowd to be a bit more conservative like the rest of Texas.

We really wonder if this is owned by Willie Nelson? I don't think he realizes the poor management here. First, the food is pretty good but the service is sucky. There's no reason to have waitresses here and the reason why is because when you order your food they automatically ask you for a gratuity when you pay because they ask you to pay first which I've never had happen at a restaurant? And the machine is automatically set for 18% gratuity 20% or 25%. Why am I being asked for a gratuity when I haven't even gotten my food is a joke. IMO you do don't need waitresses there just go to the bar, order your food, and then you can pay.

We arrived at this location after finding it on yelp. Ok we pulled up it looks super cute it was sooooooo loud even being out doors they had speakers hanging and we could not even hear each other speak like bad. They had a circle bar looking thing in the middle which was closed so we went to a shack to the right we walked into the darkest dive bar I've ever been into. We were notified the kitchen was closed so we parted ways with this joint. Not going to return just a bit to loud and no food after 7pm

The best atmosphere outdoor vibe, drinks and grub! Karaoke nights, Live Music, the oldest Oak tree in Buda, and Bandit Tacos! The main bar serves up a good burger and tap beer. Don't forget to bring a sharpie so you can write your name on the wall. If you don't - you were never there! AND - catch the t-shirt shop when it's open (odd hours) so you can bring the good vibes on the road.

We went here to pick up some burgers during Tha Rona to get out of the house and not have casserole...again... We've been there before back when you could sit with other humans and sneeze at will. We had to wait quite a while once we got there, but it's Tha Rona so we were patient. The burgers come with everything on the side, which was kinda weird to me. They were well cooked and good-sized patties but weren't anything special. We got tater tots and their green chile queso. THAT was some gooood shtuffff!

Had catfish and shrimp combo. It was amazing. Our server was great and attentive. Will definitely be back when in the area.

Average food but cool outdoor space. Drinks weren't anything special & we not consistent between different bartenders. Social place with nice outdoor seating but food & drinks are not up to par with other options in the area.

Been going to Willies for years prior to COVID. Always have had great times! 1st time back and our bill was twice regular. Nothing changed in our orders. Had over $50 added to our order for "Chips". We never got any chips! Spoke to owner and he said that was so they could open as a "restaurant" and not a bar! The Governor has already opened up the regulations in regards to this! There is no need to over charge your customers to try to get thru the COVID loop hole! You are a BBQ joint LOL! If you need the bar and alcohol business to stay afloat then you may want to reevaluate your food! Even before COVID nobody ever wanted to eat your food!

I've been to Willie's many, many times over there past several years, but I won't be going back. The venue is great - nice outdoor space, live music, fire pits, etc., but they are NOT an option for decent service or food. If you want to grab a quick beer....go for it. If you want to actually sit, have a few drinks, eat some good food....this is NOT the place.

This is a great location in downtown Butor that is kid friendly and has a decent food truck on site where you can get good Cajun seafood. The outdoor area is great and there's a small playground for kids. The drinks are pretty good in the ambience is great with lots of fire pits and lots of seating.

Couldn't be a better place for a group gathering. We had a going away party for my brother in law and it was perfect. Great crawfish, beer selection, barbecue, you name it! Awesome place!

Love this place. The atmosphere, the people, the management is all fantastic! For having celiac and allergies, this is it not my favorite place to eat but I really love all the other things so I eat beforehand and then come and hang out later!

Been driving past here and finally stopped by with some out of town friends. Your hole in the wall local bar that has a nice size courtyard with stage for live bands...plenty of seating that includes picnic tables to bonfire seating. You have all your yard games such as bags and washers and giant Jenga. Came on a Monday afternoon when they opened and Melissa was great to us recommending drinks. Not a whole lot of options for local crafts or IPAs but they have your main liquors. They have events going on each evening so this is a great place to stop in for drinks if it's isn't busy like on bike night.

Today is my birthday and we decided to check this place out because I had been told by a few people that the burgers were fantastic. I figured I would give it a shot. We decided to call our order in and get it picked up. The only good thing about the burgers were the buns were homemade. The burgers were bland. If I am going to pay over $12 for a 1/2 pound burger, I expect the quality to be a tad bit better and would like to see some grill marks, instead of being cooked on a flat top. The burger was seasoned with just salt and pepper. In some instances, that is all your need. Burgers come with chips. If you want fries or tater tots, that an up charge. If I wanted to be nickel and dime to death, I would have opted for a better burger joint. We did order fried pickles, which were ok. This place does have a nice outdoor area where you can gather with friends and have a beer. If you are considering a burger, skip it. There are plenty of burger places with better burgers that will not cost you an arm and a leg.

Went on a Tuesday afternoon for a happy hour beer with a friend. After quickly getting greeted with a "Be with you soon" from the waitress, we waited 15 minutes to get service. Wait staff - including the waitress who said she'd be with us soon - hung out to smoke and talk with themselves. Waitress finally made her way over to us only to notify us that the draft lines were broken and that only cans were available. Ordered two Ziegenbocks (because the selection was next to none) and an order of fries. Drank the beer, hung out for an hour, never got the fries or a return visit from any wait staff. Left highly disappointed and remembering why I don't do happy hours at places in Buda.

Fun fun fun place for the entire family, pooches welcome as well! Several bars , inside and out, crawfish and other menu items. Live music, outdoor games...ping pong & corn hole for the adults and a huge play area foe kids! sit, relax around a fire pit and enjoy a cold brew and southern jams!!

Got rid of their bbq and no more pickles eggs. Hamburgers and appetizers only. Prices went up as well

Great experience! Watched the baseball playoffs there with friends and it was wonderful.

What a great place! Outdoor patio, washer puts, awesome fire pits, great staff, delicious tacos ( 3 Amigos was so full of flavor I didn't even miss the meat!) plenty of room to roam around.... I will definitely be back!
