Willis used to be a great place to live. Sure, it had its small problems and annoyances, but Malcolm was an excellent manager and tried his best to keep everything running well and his tenants happy. After the building flooded last year and RAM bought it out, it's been terrible. The hallway temperatures will creep up into the 80s, since they're too cheap to pay for AC. They tried to get rid of the coffee machine in the lobby but people got mad about that, so instead you have to bring your own cup (They're 'Being Green'). The elevators' inspection is months overdo, and they break down often, as do the parking garage gates. The parking garage that folks now have to pay to park in, by the way. Where cars routinely get broken into. Instead of ensuring that the flood didn't compromise the building, RAM decided to paint the exterior. In late March to April, you know, when folks would be able to enjoy being outside. They insisted that folks remove everything from their patio, but only gave residents a few days notice so many people had no choice but to get rid of their patio belongings (the apartments are too small to 'keep everything inside' as they suggested). It's August and they still haven't told people they can start using their outside spaces again.
RAM fired both of the maintenance men that were here before them, who worked hard and responded quickly, even after hours. They were kind, and didn't make you feel ignorant for not knowing how to fix things yourself. The RAM office team has been rude, dismissive, and down right lied to our faces 'Oh, the parking garage gate hasn't been broken since we took over!' while it was broken at the time of conversation, and had been for days. One of the women in the office almost made my wife cry she was so insufferable. If you do decide to move here after hearing all of the above, be ready to pay any and all extra fees that RAM pulls out of a hat while not being able to use all of the space you pay for. Even as they're losing tenants like a tree loses leaves, they're rude and money hungry. I cannot in good conscience recommend my enemies to live at Willis now, much less those I care about. Good riddance.
