Google
I don’t know why people don’t get their coffee beans from here. Skip getting from chains or grocery stores, much better quality here and I’m picky about my coffee as a sailor (:

Google
I love this coffee place. They are good tasting, have variety, and have yummy snacks like muffins, cookies, and macarons. They even have decaf versions of the drinks! They're always really nice too.

Stopped in a coffee and muffin. Both were great, especially the lemon poppy seed muffin. Staff were attentive and friendly. Nice outside seating area as well.

Google
This a high quality establishment. People love being here. I heard a customer say, “What would we do without Willoughby’s?!”

Google
Coffee was excellent! Great flavor on the specialty drinks, and the milk was steamed perfectly with microfoam and spot-on texture. Best coffee in the Branford/Guilford/Madison area.

I only order online. It is a coffee lover’s treat. I’ve been ordering on and off for decades. Please keep up the excellent work!

Google
Really great coffee and the staff are always helpful and friendly, I had no idea you could buy green coffee beans from them on roastmasters.com. Free local pickup and I can roast their coffee anytime at home. The expresso blends are exceptionally well make, you can tell they really tried to mix up a perfect mix.

Google
Choice of 2 roasts available in both hot and cold brew, which is great since I prefer dark over medium any day. A decent selection of cookies, biscotti, muffins, etc. It's tough to spot from the road, so use your gps. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Got a hazelnut/vanilla iced latte with whole milk and a caramel ice latte with whole milk. Great quality and flavor. Not watered down. Nice service. Clean cafe and bathroom.

Yelp
I've been a regular for what seems like forever. I've a big fan of the huge selection of coffee beans & high quality teas. There are a few roasters in town, Willoughby's is by far the best.

Yelp
If I could give this place one star I would. When I walked into this coffee shop a few days ago, the staff (all have weird colored hair and clearly local kids) were too busy talking about their Instagram accounts and whatever other teenage nonsense. They were not attentive to the patrons, which irritated many of us in line. The coffee is mediocre at best, and the cream I received in their little ketchup container was close to being spoiled. I will highly recommend avoiding this establishment at all costs. The owner of this business clearly does not know how to hire professionals and their products are severely over priced for what they have to offer. I was driving through on a business trip. The lack of professionalism and product upset me so much that I decided to write this review. Avoid at all costs.

Yelp
Stopped in yesterday to meet up with a coworker. I had seen a previous review mentioning that the iced chai wasn't that great, but I gave the benefit of the doubt and tried one anyway. I should have listened. It was less Chai and more icy milk water. :( The decor needs some help too. This has the potential to be a pretty cool lounge space, but the furniture needs an update. I was debating getting a snack, but it was so not a cohesive set up.....there were some bars over here, I think a baked good or two over there. I also had a hell of a time finding a darn straw. Maybe if we come back, I'll try something else and sit in a different spot?

Yelp
This is the place to go for coffee in the area. Their selection is outstanding with lots of single-source coffee. I buy my coffee by the pound, get it ground, and go home and enjoy. Their prices are reasonable, usually $15 to $20 per pound and well worth it. I get about 40 cups per pound so that keeps me going for a week or so. When they're roasting, the smell in the store should be bottled. It's 5:45 a.m., I'm drinking a cup of Ethiopian Y**, and my toy poodle is lying on my lap. Life is good.

Yelp
I made an online purchase of Geisha coffee from Willoughby's ($37.50/12 oz)! The coffee has very little flavor- even when I used double the amount that I usually do. I emailed the shop asking for an explanation of why the coffee tastes so bland, hoping to receive an answer that might prevent me from making a similar unfortunate purchase in the future. I did not receive a reply. Not only is this particular coffee a disappointment, but their responsiveness is equally poor. Update: I have now received a response to my email from Willoughby's, along with a full refund. Although I was ver disappointed with the coffee, I very much appreciate the refund and what turned out to be their concern and responsiveness.

Yelp
I am only reviewing this location as a coffee roaster. I do not like Willoughby's house blend coffee, so I only use them to buy beans. As a roaster, Willoughby's is great. They have a large selection of single origin beans at all of their locations, but if you are after the freshest beans, this location is worth the extra trip since the roasting is actually done here. The beans are easily the best of the any of the CT roasters. The beans are well priced, most running in the $13-15 per pound range. Being from NY, I am used to spending $15+ on a 12oz bag, so this is really is a bargain. I have tried all of the single origins and none of them disappoint. The Yirgacheffe is my usual go-to as it is very bright and sweet, which makes for great pour overs. Highly recommended if you are after fresh locally roasted beans at a great price.

Yelp
I came here the other day while waiting for my car to be repaired at the mechanics in the same plaza. I first ordered an iced latte- nothing special, and a choc chip cookie- again, nothing special. I say there for about 3 hours ( 2 hrs outside and 1 hr inside). I like that they have a small outside seating area with umbrellas- it was quite relaxing! When I went inside because it was too hot, I felt awkward with the cashier constantly looking over. I finally ordered another drink, iced chai, and really regretted I had! Tasted horrible!!! I was going to get another cookie too but since they're not cheap and not very appealing I didn't bother. Overall, it's a nice place to sit and study and maybe for true coffee experts they would like the variety there but based off of what I ordered, I will not be back. Three stars because their coffee smells awesome, you are able to sit peacefully BUT the drinks I had / the service that day were just disappointing!

Yelp
They prepare delicious, rich, velvety espresso, and provide friendly customer service. When traveling, I always walk into an unknown, local coffee shop with trepidation, wary of being served watery espresso. Not so here, and they didn't charge me an "arm and a leg" for four shots. They live up to their motto, "serious coffee."

Yelp
The proof about how good this place is is in the beans. Buy a bag of these freshly roasted pearls of jitteryness, and inspect how perfect they are. Honestly, when you buy whole bean, you get the whole bean! Not like the S-Bucks halves and pieces, these cashew nuggets of java will serve you well. Support them please. I need to make sure this place stays open for me to keep getting my fix.

Yelp
is it really possible that nobody has yelped this willoughby's location? i drove by many times and didn't realize it wasn't just a place they roasted but was also a coffee shop - we stopped in for iced coffee and tea the other day and the place is pretty nice. decent iced coffee (STRONG) and they had a nice simple syrup liquid sugar which makes it easy to sweeten cold drinks. Also they have a crazy selection of coffee and tea equipment. (TECHNIVORM moccamaster brewers! this is what i want next.) .. if you like coffee, this is the place.

Yelp
I get my ground coffee here. I'm in love with my coffee. Sumantra mmmmm. I do drip, coffee press and pour over.

Yelp
great roasted coffee, I was on one flavor for quite a while, now I am on a different one... The Branford location does not have the best carbo. food, but I've been to some of the other locations and their stuff has been consistantly better. I guess that is because the Branford location is where they roast their coffee. as I said the coffee rocks.

Yelp
Damn good coffee, fair prices & very pleasant staff. Def keepin this place on my radar when I'm away from my home town joint

Yelp
This is a great coffee shop in a bad, bad location. It's hard to get in and out of the office park/strip mall type place it's in. Otherwise, this is the best coffee around and much better than having to deal with the traffic and construction by Starbucks further down Route 1.

Yelp
I love the Kona feature coffee, but I nearly fell over when I was charged $5.79 for a large cup. That works out to like $180 per pound of ground coffee. I realize you have overhead, but I can't afford that kind of pricing. Especially hwen there's another roaster on the green, about a mile away.

Yelp
This place is lovely! I had to pull of of I95 to do some work. This coffee shop is clean, the staff are super friendly and accommodating and the wifi is very strong. They have a large selection of coffee and tea. There is seating both indoors and outdoors.

Yelp
Some of the best coffee I've ever had, but the servers are consistently grumpy and rude. It's quite a bummer since this is one of my favorite coffee places in the area. I love starting my day off with their coffee, but not with the service that leaves me feeling awkward/bad.

Robert C.

Yelp
I mean, we all like coffee. But these guys REALLY like coffee. From what I know they pretty much are consistently traveling around the world looking for the best beans to bring back to the New Haven area for us to experience. How couldn't you give these guys props?
