We were traveling back home from San Francisco. We wanted some good hot food, not another fast food place.
We were driving I noticed a sign that just said "Keep" I was like Keep what?? I thought the bottom of the sign fell off. A couple of miles later there was another wooden sign that said " Hunger Away " and then it clicked!!! It said out " Keep hunger away!!" A couple of miles another wooden sign that said " Willow Ranch 12 miles away.
So we drove over to Willow Ranch. The restaurant feels like cozy country and very welcoming. Oh boy let me tell you the food was amazing!!!
I got the brisket dinner, bake potatoe, garden salad and cornbread. The brisket was cooked perfectly and the bbq sauce was just right. Not too sweet, it was very flavorful. The bake potato was just like grandma would make them, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits, butter and chives. It was not dry it was delicious and I was happy it was after 4pm. ( they sever bake potatoes after 4pm) The salad was fresh and chrisp and the corn delicious not dry.
My husband got the ribeye steak dinner, mashed potatoes, dinner roll and dumpling soup. The steak was cooked to perfectly to his liking and very flavoring and I agree. The mashed potatoes were creamy, chunky and buttery. The soup was hot, creamy, thick and savory.
For dessert we got the homemade peach cobbler a la mode. It was moist, flavorful and not too sweet just right. To top it off the most creamy vanilla bean ice cream. It was just like how grandma made it when I was little.
We are definitely coming back here. Even
If we are not traveling up north. We will make the 2 hr drive from Orange County just to eat here.
