Best Restaurants for Lunch in Greenville, South Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"The marquee location of Willy Taco in Midtown has its own stop on the Swamp Rabbit Trail extension. Restaurant designer Sandra Cannon reimagined the 1930s Feed and Seed store into a 200-person restaurant, and it offers comfortable seating for groups inside, as well as outdoors on covered porches and decks. The blackened salmon taco is notable, and the Mexican smash burger offers a double patty loaded with gooey toppings. A fried avocado taco is a fun order for vegetarians." - Stephanie Burnette

10 Best Margaritas Across the Carolinas | Eater Carolinas

"One of the most talked about margaritas in the Upstate is Willy Taco’s coconut lime margarita, a favorite at the flagship Feed & Seed location in Midtown. Bartenders shake Lunazul tequila blanco with coconut cream, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup. Poured over ice, it’s garnished with a shaggy toasted coconut rim. In addition to the original location in Spartanburg, Willy Taco is also in Easley and Simpsonville. Both reside in second-generation spaces, a tenant of the group’s sustainable praxes." - Nikki Miller-Ka

This place was fantastic! My son lives in the area and he said it was newly opened and wanted to try it. Everything was delicious and the waitress was sweet. She even gave us little coupons for free tacos for our next visit. I highly recommend the corn fritters they are to die for ❤️ We will definitely be back!

Decided to try this location as we recently moved back to simpsonville, and loved the one in Greenville but this is closer. Big mistake. Sat down to order, and our server was very weird and antsy. We both ordered items, and the first two items i tried to order weren’t offered but they were both on the menu. I finally decided to switch up to a completely different order. We got our appetizer, which was great. It was the corn fritters, a lot of bread so very filling. I decided to order two tacos, ate about half of each, and was full. I watched our stand and chat at the end of the bar with the bartender and hostess for almost 30 minutes without checking up on us once. (She didnt check up on us while we ate, either). This entire time i was having to wave my hand to keep flies off my food(which didnt work, see pic) so the food ended up going to the trash. Oh, did I mention, she didnt refill my sweet tea once? We wont be returning.

Tried mother clucker, avocado, brisket babacoa and tacos 101. Avocado is my favorite. Although the dragon sauce was way too spicy should've got that on the side. The second was the brisket Barbacoa I definitely would've asked for less pimento cheese. All of the tacos have plenty of meat. Both chicken tacos didn't really do much for me. Mother Cluckers seemed promising, but I didn't really taste the separate ingredients.

Google
First timer and I couldn’t be happier. Evan recommended the flight of Lunazul and it was what I needed. I don’t know that I can drink tequila without sangrita ever again. Will be back very soon.

Google
Best mexican fusion in the area! Elizabeth and all the bartenders are some of the nicest and friendliest people you'll ever meet. Highly recommend the happy hour (Tues-Friday 4pm-6:30) for great drink deals. This is the place for tequila lovers..unbeatable selection. For food the queso blanco (minus chorizo..made it too greasy), willy quesadilla, and for tacos the southern tide and nashville hot.

Google
The food is always so good, tacos are unparalleled!! Our server Ashley was a delight and was checking in often to make sure we had all we needed! One of my favorite restaurants in Simpsonville!! :)

Google
This is the 2nd Willy Taco location I've been to and it was just as great as the first. My party all enjoyed the variety of tacos they ordered, and my cheeseburger was quite good! They only have 1 dessert on the menu, strawberry cheesecake taquitos, and they are FANTASTIC, I considered stopping here before just to order dessert. The atmosphere is relaxed and employees friendly, worth a stop!

Great place, good food and nice atmosphere! Highly recommend the Cali burrito! Justine was a great waitress and very hospitable. (She should win the contest 🙂)

Yelp
I ordered through DoorDash. The willy cheesesteak quesadillas, street corn, a chicken taco, and chips and salsa. I did not receive chips for the salsa, so I was a bit disappointed with that.   The cheesesteak quesadillas were delicious. The flavor of the meat exceeded my expectations. The portion, as well as the meat and cheese ratio, was great. The chicken on the chicken taco was seasoned well. The street corn came to go style with the dressings on the side; I wish it would have come with everything already on top. There was a good amount of char on the corn. The cheese sauce that came with the quesadillas was good. The salsa was also tasty.   I would definitely return for the willy cheesesteak quesadillas alone.

Yelp
Food was delish and the service was top notch! What sets this place apart is not just the food, but the overall experience. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, ready to offer recommendations based on your preferences. The service is prompt, ensuring you never wait long to satisfy your cravings.

Yelp
Justine was our server and she was such a treat!! She was personable and flexible as it was my first visit! Service was quick and friendly! I will be back on my next visit! I had the Veg Head bowl and it was delicious! I would be tempted to get it again!! Very cool atmosphere with an industrial vibe!

Yelp
Great service! Good food! Convenient location! Nice restaurant for large groups too. Easy parking.

Yelp
The atmosphere, food, and the entire staff are excellent. Eliza was our waitress and was very attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Okay so here's our thoughts... overall the food is good. We wanted Mexican but didn't get any. It's okay though we enjoyed experiencing something different. It's not really our jam but overall it was decent. The downfall for us was the service. Our waitress was not helpful or attentive. We asked for suggestions but she really didn't have any. We looked for her because we needed ketchup but it took a third different person to ask who finally found us some. They had run out... the manager was kind and helpful. She was the saving grace. It's a fun electic place build your looking for Mexican this isn't the place it's a fun different type of fusion. We will give it another go around.

Yelp
Our server Ashley was great! Tacos are all pretty much $5 but they are decent size! Lots of options to choose from. Chips and salsa is $2 but you get a good amount! Happy hour doesn't seem too bad and the drink prices are worth it! Will definitely be back!!

Yelp
The food was great. My husband had the Chilly Willy scrimp and said it was perfect. I loved the Brussels sprouts. The service was excellent. As a vegan gf eater, I found plenty to eat and it was tasty. We sat outside and enjoyed the cool of the evening.

Yelp
This is one place I would try again, My intentions was to check out another place below Willy's, when I noticed the music and a nice young lady, extremely nice person she actually sold the place on me ( thank you ) She suggested the quesadilla ( steak ) which I ordered and I'm glad I did! It was truly amazing! I don't usually eat guacamole sauce and again she said it's made fresh and I may like it... guess what I did! loved my whole experience with this restaurant it was GREAT! They didn't skimp on the cheese, meat, not even the sauce it was truly a great place. I will be sharing this on my other platforms with a short video. I'm a pretty hard one to please, but Willy Taco got me.

Yelp
I would t eat at that Place ever again the cod they switched to CHEAPER from foreign parts ...... was nasty I was sick for a week disgusting .. nasty ... didn't even look like cod absolutely disgraceful and all to save a buck .....ZERO STARS

Yelp
So sad that they've changed their menu/recipes. The Crispy Avocado Taco has been my go to treat for the past two years. Just had one last month and it was delicious! But the avocado taco I had today not only didn't taste good (who puts green bell peppers in a taco?) also, it was insanely spicy. I wasn't prepared for that assault on my tastebuds. Left me with a headache.

Greg A.

Yelp
Been there twice now and both were very good. Tacos were great and I particularly like the black beans and rice with the lunch combo. Great atmosphere and service. Yelp
Awesome new gourmet taco place! The decor is so cool especially the Karate Kid mural, big benches and outdoor patio opening to the inside with a garage door. Food is great too! I had the Nashville Hot Chicken taco and Korean BBQ pork taco. Both were stuffed with meat - there's no way you're leaving there hungry. The margs are all made with fresh ingredients making them the perfect thirst quencher. For all this, it was very affordable if you're looking for a regular spot to go. To round it off, service was excellent! Everyone was so friendly and attentive. You can tell everyone loves working there which is a sign that Management is top notch. Great add to the growing Simpsonville area and a must go for dates, family outings or a fun after work drink with friends

Yelp
Our waitress was friendly and very helpful with our order. Didn't have to wait long for our burrito. Very huge. We got to use our coupon buy one get one. Clean, friendly and not loud at all
google avatar

Yelp
Great location in downtown Simpsonville!I went with a group of ladies, and the management and wait staff took great care of us. The food and drinks came out efficiently and everyone loved their choices. The grouper taco was impressively huge, and the fried avocado taco is always a great choice. Love the open air seating with the cooler fall breeze. Recommend!

Yelp
Food was not hot, burrito bowl was very bland. Prices are too high and service was terrible. Will not go back.

Yelp
Met some friends here for dinner and they were able to accommodate a large party at the last minute. Their chips/salsa is pretty good although they aren't free. The queso dip was great and mixed well with the salsa. For my entree I got the steak chimichanga. It was huge and filled with mostly rice and beans; not a lot of steak IMO. It was covered in the same queso I liked so much, so that was great....but that chimichurri sauce that they dollop on top was terrible. Way too sour and I've had other chimichurri sauce on a lot of things. I tried to scoop off as much as I could, but I think my taste buds just didn't want to forget it. Would return to try the tacos another time.

Yelp
Listen, I am not sure if everything is deep fried at this place, or if they put some other magical spell on the food but hey.. it's bussin'! As the kids would say! If you didn't like it the first time then maybe you thought it was going to be your typical Mexican joint. So now that you know it's not please go back! I have been there several times and so far I can't pick a favorite. I always try to try something new and that ends up to be my new fav. So far the salad (add shredded chicken) and Veg Head (add grilled steak) are my two favs! Trust me!!! Try the veg head!! Service is really good too! I rarely give 5 stars because I am a picky asshole but this place is nothing short of yummy!

Yelp
Great addition to downtown Simpsonville! Food and drinks were great - we came for lunch and dinner in one day! The outside patio is covered and has TVs. The tacos were big and the drinks were tasty. The service is great especially for a new restaurant in the area. We'll be back!

Joanna M.

Yelp
Second visit to the Simpsonville location. Server did a great job and food was tasty! Would return!

Yelp
Great tacos & queso. I had the mother clucker & my wife had the southern tide. The wait staff and hosts are always very friendly and accommodating. Nice open floor plan with booths, benches, and hightop tables.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
I ordered take out tonight and it was delish! Very fresh and flavorful, I highly recommend this for an affordable takeout option!! I was really impressed with the shrimp taco, and their house crema was amazing! I also had a side of rice and beans which were good! Overall this is a great neighborhood spot!
google avatar

Roger W.

Yelp
Willy Taco is at several locations around the area. Dependable, slightly quirky, good fresh food.
google avatar

Rich G.

Yelp
Not to much of an atmosphere inside. Tacos only come with soft shell. Tried to make a change to our Burrito, "hold the rice in the burrito"...waitress told us they couldn't do that, "our burrito's come pre made, and we can't alter them". Sounds like to me that they're buying heat and serve food. Maybe I'll go to Sam's and buy my own next time. Service was average.

Ellen W.

Yelp
Had another GREAT server there ... "MG" this time ... she was super attentive and she gets extra props for proactively bringing us a refil w/o having to ask for anything - food was good - had to bring leftovers home b/c portions so big - YaY for lunch tomorrow! A++++
google avatar

Jean H.

Yelp
Service was good, food not so much. Ordered a Margarita during happy hour, worst drink I ever had . Probably will not go back.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Food was okay. The waitress didn't volunteer any information about the lunch specials. I had to ask. They charge you for tortilla chips! After we were finished eating we had to find a waitress and ask for the bill.
google avatar

Anesh B.

Yelp
Fabulous place!! We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. Cocktails were original and spot on in flavor and taste. Had the trio dip app, 6 different tacos, jerk chicken quesadilla & chimichanga. All the food was great! The service was on point and lastly the place was clean with the music & AC at the appropriate levels. Please give Willy a high five from us, job well done!!

Dawn R.

Yelp
Service was excellent - blood orange margarita was good as well. My avocado taco was good but the shrimp taco was very hard fried and not much sauce or slaw. Went with colleague, we both got the lunch special - 2 tacos with beans and rice. The beans and rice were cold and not well seasoned and his beef taco 101 went uneaten after the first bite as the meat smelled and tasted off. The Willy Taco Feed and Seed has always been excellent so this was disappointing
google avatar

Juli W.

Yelp
Great service and had a wonderful taco salad with pulled chicken last night! Was a great low carb alternative but delicious and a large portion! My husband had the steak chimichanga and loved every bite and couldn't finish it because it was a large portion! Highly recommend visit!

Karen B.

Yelp
The mother clucker Taco was tasteless - and it's usually pretty good. The Chilly Willy Taco dripped sauce everywhere. Our waitress didn't offer us water or another beer, which we would have gotten. The queso came out room temp and pasty. Maybe it was an off night...
google avatar

Yelp
The new Willys Taco is a great place to have a meal, drinks, and laughs. Willys Taco will never disappoint.

Yelp
My wife and I went to lunch at Willy Taco with our two year old granddaughter. What a great dining experience!! First of all, our server, Jade, took our order within minutes and struck up a friendship with our little granddaughter. The food arrived soon after that. We had the Southern Tide, Crispy Grouper and Kickin Chicken tacos. Each of them were loaded with meat and amazing fixings. Just so flavorful! My wife ordered the super fresh Margarita and said that it was the best Margarita she had ever had...including the ones we had in Mexico! Jade checked throughout the meal to make sure every aspect of our meal went as planned. The rest of the staff staff was also so eager to please and visited us throughout the meal to make sure everything was to our liking. The restaurant itself is beautifully set up to open up to the outside with roll up garage doors. There is also outdoor dining on the front porch. It's a very large building with plenty of seating and lots of room between tables. Great place for groups of people. It was totally a great dining experience on all levels.

Jim B.

Yelp
Great service, great lunch deals, great ambiance. Can get a different taco combo each time you go. They are all good. Wish they had free chips though, just saying.

James S.

Yelp
I'm not really happy with this because the steak taco was cold and I'm pretty sure they just threw it in the microwave and fed it to me if I were you I'd go to Taco Bell
google avatar

Audrey F.

Yelp
The food was absolutely AMAZING and the service was great as well. Jessica was one of our favorite workers and made great conversation and was very delightful too talk too while she brought us too our table. Sense opening we have been here a insane amount of time because of the great combo of food and consumer service. Always recommending this location too friends!!!

Sylvia L.

Yelp
Food delicious. They were very busy, but the service was great. We got a table when we arrived. I will be back.
google avatar

Wendi P.

Yelp
I've been to the new Simpsonville location twice this week. The vibe is happy and eclectic, the food exceeded expectations, and the margaritas are sublime. I loved being in the space, both on the outdoor (dog friendly) patio, and inside. I will definitely be a frequent flyer!

Kevin M.

Yelp
Outstanding experience. Great, diverse selection. Our server, MG, was awesome. She came by often to ensure we had everything we wanted and everything was okay. Happy hour margaritas were awesome. The guacamole appetizer was filling and delicious. Wife had the Korean Pork taco and the cauliflower taco. I had the Willy cheesestake quesadilla. They were all over stuffed and delicious. This is not only one of the best taco restaurants but one of the best Willy Taco locations.

Joe T.

Yelp
Food and service were great!! We will definitely be back!! The ambiance was casual but a little noisy

Dawn S.

Yelp
Very good designer tacos, and drinks. Service was pretty good, and we enjoyed the ambiance.

Richard T.

Yelp
Such a disappointment! their Greenville location is one of our favorite restaurants in town, so when we heard one was opening near us, we were so excited. First, the atmosphere doesn't even compare. Blah. Our first visit, we chalked it up to being a new restaurant. But we've eaten there 3 times now. The service is always bad. And while some of the food has been good, every time I've had at least one thing that is totally inedible. When they have such a winning formula across town and this location can't seem to get anything right, it can only be one thing - Management. They need to clean house and start over.

Gene U.

Yelp
Sat at a table for almost 15 minutes. No water, waiter... nothing. Three young women get seated right beside us and the young male waiter was out to help them in under 30 seconds. The manager did offer to make it right but I was just too mad to stay. If you are a disabled senior citizen expect less than acceptable service.

Becky P.

Yelp
Food and service are both good! I had shrimp tacos, one of each, with grilled shrimp and they were both very tasty. The guacamole is also really good!

Peggy O.

Yelp
Excellent ambiance, service was amazing and the food was wonderful! Thanks to our server, Jade, for the excellent recommendations- she was spot on! Great cocktails, fun happy hour specials and the patio is a great place to dine!

Amie H.

Yelp
A little loud but beautiful space. Food was over the top! I had the taco salad with ground beef. Excellent
