Bonaire, Caribbean Travel Guide

"This cozy boutique property was designed by celebrated Dutch architect Piet Boon. The Piet Boon brand is one that embodies the 'if you have to ask' aesthetic. At the same time, though, the property is anything but hoity-toity." - Travel + Leisure Editors

What an amazing place. Quiet. Chill. Excellent staff to help with recommendations and anything you need. Amazing pool. Honor bar. Fresh cappuccinos in the morning. Pool table and games. And an amazing location. Our family would end every day, with a swim and a game of pool. They make it feel like a home away from home, but much more than you get with an Airbnb. Also better than a giant beach club, which you can visit with a short walk. Great to have a quiet place to come “home” to.

My husband and I have just had a week at Windhoek Resort. I had forgotten how wonderful it is there. It’s my third visit to the Resort and I am never disappointed. The place is maintained to a very high standard and our villa was nestled amongst succulent vegetation giving us plenty of privacy. The communal area is beautifully laid out with a great little bar area and pool table, which we made full use of in the evenings. The pool is a great size for Bonaire and has plenty of day beds and hammocks to chill out in after a long day windsurfing. We ate in a few nights as the kitchen in the villa is fully equipped with every thing you might need, including a toasted sandwich maker! The beds are REALLY comfortable and big. To be honest, there is nothing bad I can say about our visit apart from it wasn’t long enough. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the cleaners do an amazing job of making sure you come back to a clean and tidy villa everyday. What more could we ask for. Thank you so much Roan and your team. We will be back!

This was a very nice and lovely experience! The resort feels like you are in a little forest like get away. We stayed in the two-bedroom villa, which is nice for 2,3 and 4 people. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything to make yourself at home. The hosts make sure that everything is to your liking, they were very helpful with getting us a taxi, options for renting and even getting our way around. Would truly recommend to stay here when visiting the beautiful Bonaire.

My husband and I travelled to Bonaire for the first time this month, March 2025. We were absolutely delighted with Windhoek Resort. The setting is gorgeous, and the pictures in their website actually reflect how lovely the resort is! Our villa was perfectly equipped for what we needed…a well appointed kitchen space, a clean and spacious suite with a mosquito net on the bed (thank you for this so much!). The only tiny negative was that we needed the netting, as there were mosquitoes, but that’s just part of coming during this particular season, and the resort had all of the supplies to minimize their impact!||The owners and staff at the resort are all wonderful, friendly, generous, and kind, and it was a pleasure interacting with each of them! They also sell the most amazing sunscreen we’ve ever used…Island Tribe! We loved it so much that we stocked up and brought some home with us. That and a mosquito swatter!||We are so grateful for the amazing opportunity to experience Bonaire for the first time…snorkelling, visiting the donkey sanctuary, trying a lionfish burger, exploring the island and learning what a cadushy is, and meeting so many friendly people. We came for the wind, so we were spoiled to be able to spend many of our days harnessing the wind at Sorobon beach on our wing foil. ||Those experiences were all unforgettable, as staying at Windhoek has been. We very much look forward to our next opportunity to visit Bonaire and Windhoek!

We have stayed at many different places in Bonaire. Windhoek is by far our favorite. The whole atmosphere there lets you relax and reload. Very nice to chill by the pool. Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. There is nothing I didn’t like

Windhoek has to be one of the best spots to stay on the island. It was peaceful, quiet and relaxing. There isn’t any food on the property, they have an amazing personal kitchen - blender, microwave, dishwasher, pot and pans, etc all super clean. Get groceries before checking in and you are all set. Coffee espresso is included. They also have an awesome drinks collection for nominal fees. The room was spotless and spacious. There aren’t doors for the shower, clothing dry rack is outside, bringing clips helps. They clean everyday, provide beach and regular towels. Shampoo and body wash is available. It has open and lovely layout inside and outside the room. There is enough privacy between the rooms which keeps us quiet and private. Theres common use first come first serve - snorkel gear, coolers and grill by the pool. They were kind enough to let us leave are bags early while they were cleaning the room for check in. This helped us in being able to start exploring early. The coffee at the lobby is made fresh in the morning and it was fantastic. I truly miss that. There’s breeze and greenery all around, but it does mean a lot of mosquitoes. Have bug spray and aloe ready if you plan to hangout at the property esp after sunset. The pool is amazing for a night swim, perfect temperature. Can’t wait to go back!

A wonderful stay at Wind Hoek. The perfect location for kiteboarding/ winging and scuba. The resort is very clean and all of the necessary amenities are provided. The entire staff is wonderful. I highly recommend (but not too loudly). See you next year. Thank you.

Tranquil and beautiful, elegant, well kept cottages with full kitchen and expansive patios. Tranquil common area with pool and honor bar. Warm and helpful staff, great location. Really a wonderful find.
