"This restaurant in the Hôtel D'Angleterre has superb views of Lake Geneva, the Jet d'Eau fountain and the mountains in the distance. The well-executed French cuisine draws on both the classic and the modern, and the Alps certainly don't detract from the great flavours! Afternoon tea is very popular; brunch on Sunday." - Michelin Inspector

We went last week for the annual Indian Food Festival. First time here, as we haven’t been living in Geneva but 6 months. Superb location with great views. Very welcoming, helpful and friendly staff. Old world charm, but not at all stuffy. Food was delicious. Service was terrific. It’s not an inexpensive place, but probably typical by Geneva standards for an upscale restaurant. Most definitely worth a visit!

We had a very nice evening at the Windows Restaurant at Hotel D'Angleterre. From the moment we arrived, we felt really comfortable. The decor is simply amazing, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were equally impressive—amazingly friendly while maintaining a high level of professionalism. I regret not catching the names of the wonderful staff who made our experience so enjoyable, but their exceptional service didn't go unnoticed. Although I didn’t get a chance to meet Mr. Romain Deffaugt, I’d like to extend my thanks to him as well. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience that we would highly recommend.

One of my favorite restaurants in Genève. They have great at customers' service. They serve delicious food of highest quality product. We had 4 courses dinner. We chose indian cuisine and it was spicy as it should be. Excellent cook! For dinner or afternoon tea this is a place to be. Reservations are needed!

We spent Christmas Day at this restaurant and the overall experience was good. The menu had a varied set of different festive food, and the quantity was more than enough. I just want to highlight one little hiccup that I did not appreciate, reason why I’m only giving a 2* to service. We ordered a bottle of red wine of a certain quality (CHF 195), but the waiter removed the bottle from the tray located next to us, and left the room with the bottle, and came back with the wine that appeared to have been opened somewhere else. I don’t find this is professional and I was rather annoyed considering a restaurant of this category. I just wish I had sent the bottle back.

We were looking for a special restaurant for a celebration meal and this place exceeded expectations. We booked online through Google the day before and they called our US number to confirm same day. From the moment we were greeted by Johann the maitre de and seated the service was impeccable. The decor is first rate, and every table has a lake view living up to it's Windows name. Menu was simple, yet varied and they have an extensive wine list including local Swiss wines. Johann was knowledgeable on the menu and made several good recommendations based on our preferences. They started us off with a cucumber gazpacho before the starters. We had roasted cauliflower in a coconut curry sauce and pickled beetroot salad. The Wagyu was perfectly seasoned and the artic char from Lake Leman was perfectly cooked. Crisp one side, moist and flaky on the other. I could drink the Beurre Blanc sauce. All the meals had an outstanding visual presentation. It took a little longer than they liked for my after dinner espresso so we ended up with some extra chocolates for the trouble, though I really hadn't noticed it. Though not cheap, the prices were not unreasonable for any major city and the experience certainly made it worthwhile.

If you want to combine three great pleasures - this is the place for you. A wonderful view from the window of the lake and the fountain. Incredibly exquisite presentation of very (!!!) tasty dishes. Well, you will be enveloped in warm service of the highest level. I will definitely come back here on my next visit 💙💛

The staff was excellent, they provided the best service they could. We loved the bread, the wine and the appetizers. However, the main courses were disappointing. The lamb chops were under cooked, and the grilled Dover sole was tasteless.

Yelp
First of all I will say that the main photo used here suggests that it's a high floor or rooftop dining experience, not a raised first floor that you walk up to. The view is still nice but I reckon many Americans may expect that the name + picture means you're high up, so it's worth mentioning. The restaurant is fine: large portions compared to trendy restaurants in the US and nothing offensive taste-wise but the prices are in the realm of make-believe. $49 for basic chicken curry and $69 for basic (but finely pounded) veal schnitzel. In all of my travels there has been no precedent for such high prices being assigned to "everyday" dishes that are in no way elevated.

Yelp
Really expensive and adequate food. Service was outstanding but otherwise not very memorable.

Yelp
Came here for a business dinner with a group of 6. We got a very nice table by the window. The restaurant was about half full. I love the Swiss and their complimentary appetizers! This restaurant gave us cheese pretzel lollipops, cheese cup and this amazing delicious butter bread concoction. The waiter messed up on my appetizer order but was quick to resolve the issue. The funny thing was that the messed up order actually tasted better than what I actually ordered (lobster pancake). For the main entree I got a shrimp and mushroom risotto dish which was delicious. My favorite part was the dessert. I got the homemade honey comb ice cream. A must try if you are dining here! The only criticism I have about this restaurant is that the service is very slow. I felt as if we sat for 30 minutes before they came and took our order. The whole dining experience felt longer than it should have and we were the last ones out of the restaurant.

Yelp
We had a fun friends dinner here the last night we were in Europe. The food was top notch. The service was great at the outset but then it was challenging to get our bill at the end. Overall great experience.

Yelp
We were desperately looking for a restaurant open at 3-4pm in Geneva and we stopped at l'Hotel d'Angleterre. They have a really nice inside patio with view over the Leman Lake and the Jet d'Eau. Atmosphere 5/5: The atmosphere is perfect. Elegant and quiet restaurant located right next to the Leman Lake. You're right in front of the Jet d'Eau while you're eating. This is such a great romantic spot during Dinner time. They also have a great selection of Wine. The Caesars costed 23.- CHF + 10.- CHF extra shrimp. They had a fish at 71.- CHF and a meat starting at 50.- CHF. This was the menu between 3pm to 6pm. Food 3/5: I only tried a Caesars Salad with Shrimp (extra charge of 10.- CHF). I was a little bit surprise to see only 3 shrimp when I had my salad. The caesars was good but I had to ask for some extra salad dressing. The bread is excellent and I love the diversity they bring you. Service 5/5: Great great service but you pay the price as well for a service like that. The waiter was really careful about any needs I would have during my meal which was great. I overall had a great time there even if the price are high. You get what you pay for between the service, the view, the atmosphere and the food/drinks.

Yelp
My review is for the afternoon tea that is served at Windows. During the week the tea is from 3-6pm, and on weekends starting at noon. Be sure to book in advance as this place can get busy. The atmosphere at Windows is perfection. The floor to ceiling windows over looking the Jet D'eau automatically bring a brightness and romance to the spot, even on an overcast day. The interior is cosy and inviting. The afternoon tea is 43 CHF per person, and includes your choice of tea, five finger sandwiches, scones w/ double Gruyere creme and heated homemade jam, and a variety of bite sized scrumptious sweets. This is definitely not a light meal, thankfully I did not have any lunch beforehand, and I didn't eat much for dinner that evening. I was stuffed. You could easily share the one tea between two people. It is served on a beautiful multi tiered silver tray. The tea menu is quite large, and there are many interesting selections to choose from. The tea was amazing, and the food was scrumptious. The scones come out fresh from the oven. They were the best scones I have had! I would come back just for a pot of tea and their menu option of a plate of 3 scones served with the creme and jam. They were by far the highlight of the entire selection. The service was OK. However, our waitress at the end had ended her shift, and we never seemed to get anyone else after that, so it took a bit to flag someone down at the end. I am glad that I had dressed nicely, as everyone in the restaurant was wearing business suits. I would have definitely felt out of place in jeans and a t-shirt.

Yelp
This restaurant is the epitome of the classic, elegant, continental restaurant. It has a wonderful ambiance, and you feel like a valued guest from the moment you enter. The food was delightful starting with the amuse bouche which starts your meal and every dish that followed. I am gluten intolerant, and was very happy to see dishes that were marked on the menu as gluten free (also some were dairy free). They asked about any allergies, and then brought me gluten free bread! I saw some reviewers' comments that the waiters were unfriendly, but we did not find that to be true. The waiters are formal in an old world sense, but helpful and friendly. The waiter recommended Swiss wines, which were new to us and which we enjoyed tremendously. Although the setting is formal, there is no dress code, and a man wearing a tee shirt and using his phone (while ignoring his date) received the same good service as everyone else. Nice views onto the lake. Pricey, but honestly everything is pricey in Geneva, and we felt we received good value for the price.

Yelp
A lovely experience, we stopped in late night and I had the lamb shank and my companion had dessert. We shared a very nice bottle of Bordeaux which was served expertly. One of the first things you notice here are the excellent views of the lake, and the excellent service. It's very pricey but that's par for the course in Geneva and while the food isn't excellent, it is is a strong offering at this price point. Certainly, it is an experience that I recommend and would like to repeat.

Yelp
Windows is an excellent chef's restaurant ideally located for the view of the famous Geneva's water jet. The restaurant's floor is a few steps higher than the street giving an unobstructed view of the lake. They have an excellent carte and a choice of mouth watering set-price menu. The downside is that set-menu must be chosen for the whole table only. Service is excellent, sommelier is very knowledge on their good wine list and we got constant attention. Total was about 130 CHF per person including wine which is actually quite decent in Geneva!

Yelp
We enjoyed a very relaxing, very tasty afternoon tea. Since we don't eat meat we asked that they change the ham and chicken sandwiches to vegetarian choices. That was no problem. I was overwhelmed by the amount of food per person that we would be eating at 3 in the afternoon. Since I was going out to dinner at 7 pm I asked if we could take home what we didn't finish. They were happy to prepare boxes for our leftovers. I would like to go again. Next time instead of dinner rather than before dinner.

Yelp
Great location, atmosphere, staff and food. Came here with a large group, so we decided to do a tasting menu. Everything was great, except for the escargot app, it tasted earthy to me. I love the crusty cheese lollipops that they bring when you first sit down. Very creative! We had three different types of "fishes" (which they showed us before they were cooked and filleted perfectly) and Chateaubriand steak. Leave room for dessert, too! The staff is very nice and there is something funny about them. Very entertaining and not stiff by an means. Tea time looks wonderful, too!!

Yelp
Wife and I grabbed brunch here this morning on our last day in Geneva. Service was really friendly. Prices were kind of high but you get wonderful ambiance and location overlooking the lake. We got some eggs, pastries, and crepes. The crepes were okay. Wife liked the eggs. Overall not a bad place.

John L.

Yelp
Quiet, elegant (yet not stuffy) French salon decor overlooking the lake. Solid modern French food. Nice deserts and wine options. Nice service. Usual Geneva high prices.
