This is an adorable pie shop! My wife and I tried two hand pies. One Croque Madam and another Strawberry Basalmic. Both had perfectly flakey crust and tasted great! Hands down, the best item we tried was the Vanilla Bourbon Pecan pie....ohhhh my goodness!!!! It's a don't miss item.

I wish we had more time to try more. We had cherry pie and a vegetarian savory pie. Both were great. The prices are reasonable. The place was clean and service was great. I also had a latte that was not the best, but acceptable. The most important factor for me was the environment. Everything was so calm and cozy. I enjoyed my visit definitely.

Google
I've had my eye on visiting this cozy pie shop since their Dark Chocolate and Earl Grey Caramel Tart caught my eye a month or so ago, and I can't be more impressed! Every layer of that tart is perfect and decadent: The caramel is ooey gooey and the taste of Earl Grey tea sharp and present. The chocolate almost-cookie crust was crunchy, a nice texture departure from the smoother elements. All in all one of the best desserts I've had in ages! While I stopped by the shop, I also couldn't help trying out two of their hand pies (Croque Madame and Crawfish Boil) and the vanilla bean latte. While the crawfish boil was an excellent teaser for our incoming crawfish season, I loved the Croque Madame! A perfect on-the-go breakfast treat! The ham, egg, and buttery, flaky crusts just scrumptious. I can't praise the pastry crust enough! And the vanilla bean latte went excellently with both. All in all, I can't wait to try more pies as my first foray was such a splendid pleasure.

Last year for Thanksgiving I ordered the amaretto pear and dried cherry pie from Windowsill and it was easily one of the best pies I have ever eaten in my entire life. I CAN NOT wait till they open their first brick & mortar. I will be there with bells on!

Google
Small and cute. Got a iced coffee that was creamy and had hints of chocolate. Strawberry Creme pie and a Chocolate hand pie.

Google
We didn’t have time to visit the store on our visit but we ordered in via DoorDash and the pies were just exquisite. The pecan pie really is to die for.

Elizabeth Cole

Google
Chicken pot pie, strawberry creme pie flaky crust both so flavorful. The best strawberry tarts

Google
This shop is delightful! The pies are stellar, from sweet to savory. We visited from KC and stayed across the street, were able to visit a few times. The hand pies are insanely good, unlike anything we have at home, unfortunately! We bought several mini-pies to take to a family dinner and all were a huge hit. The owners are great. Thank you!

Yelp
I was the ftr on this business in fall 2020 and sadly I will most likely be their final review as well. Their last day open will be May 5th. I have enjoyed every single pie I've had from here. This morning I picked up a quiche sardou, a chocolate cream 6 inch pie and a slice of the apple frangipan. I'll be back before they close because I need another slice (or 3) of the passionfruit tart. It has been so great to have them blocks from my house. I've delighted my mom many times with surprise items from their case. I'll really miss them.

Yelp
I came here for coffee, mostly because the place next door had a long line. I got the local honey latte and it was phenomenal! Very tasty, and you could tell the barista put a lot of care into the quality. I'm surprised it was so empty, especially with how cute the place was! The only thing to note is that they only had whole milk or soy milk options (I'm an oatmilk fan) but even so it was delicious.

Yelp
Such a cute little place! Great ambiance. They host events like Poetry Readings, and the staff is quite knowledgeable. I asked for a little sweetener in my iced coffee, and the staff informed me about the semi-sweetened vanilla that is already included in the drink and takes the edge off. It really was perfect. The only bummer I had was the size of the individual slices of pie. I bought key lime and peanut butter slices, and at $8 a piece, I was hoping for something a bit more substantial. Both were great flavors, but not enough for me to justify going back for the cost. Good experience overall, but definitely pricey.

Yelp
I recently visited Windowsill Pies and had an exceptional experience. The pies were absolutely delicious, and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a delightful culinary experience. Five stars!

Yelp
I wish I could give them more than five stars! We had a craving for pie the other day and most bakeries were closed since it was around 6pm. We had passed by windowsill pies before but didn't think anything looked great--we were so wrong! The woman who was working there was sooo nice. She took out their recipe book to ensure my partner wasn't allergic go anything and checked every ingredient. And, seeing their ingredient list, it was so clear that they put a lot of thought and care into what goes into their pies! We ordered the vanilla bourbon pecan pie, a pineapple cream cheese hand pie, and a slice of the coconut cream pie. The pecan pie was the star of the show. The bourbon flavor set it off and the pecans on top were perfectly sweet. The pineapple hand pie was a nice surprise! The dough was delicious and it was stuffed with pineapple filling and a citrus-y cream cheese icing on top. I didn't expect to love it but I did! It was a close second. Im not a huge fan of coconut cream pie but even that was delicious! Clearly very fresh and made with good ingredients. Can't recommend this place enough and we will be back soon!

Yelp
Raspberry passion fruit tart was phenomenal Also tried the blueberry honey lavender and the key lime pie and these are hands down the best pies I've ever tasted!

Yelp
Such good pie. Great service too. This is your sign to walk over to Windowsill Pies and get yourself a breakfast slice! Great way to start your day. Local business, great quality. They do not accept Apple Pay, so keep that in mind.

Yelp
Some of the best pie we've ever had. The service was prompt and friendly. It's a small space but cozy, clean and cool and pleasant. All together, we tried five menu items: Southwest Scramble Hand Pie: Savory and satisfying. Nice texture, easy to eat. Just the right amount of filling. The crust was buttery and delicious. Strawberry Cream Cheese Hand Pie: Bright and tart and sweet. Easy to eat without spilling. And that buttery delicious crust! Good filling-to-crust ratio. Earl Grey Caramel Tart: Interesting, slightly unusual, and very tasty. The tea gave an almost herbal flavor but was not overwhelming. I liked it more with each bite. Very rich--we got the two minis instead of a whole tart and it was a perfect amount. Key Lime Pie: Some places inexplicably make Key lime pie with eggs, which I don't care for. This one was NOT eggy, thank goodness. Very bright and refreshing. I have no complaints. Apple Frangipane Tart: This was the standout for me. Perfect almond flavor. Not excessively sweet (none of our pies were), just a perfect amount. A bit fruity, a bit almondy, a nice satisfying bite. If I had time to go back, I would order this! We forgot to take pictures--we just couldn't wait to eat our pie.

Yelp
Hands down! Best pie I ever had! I came here randomly so no pre orders or anything like that. I walked in and found that it's a super cute space. There is the one glass case with some pies and there is this adorable little inset in the wall. It is painted purple and has an antique table perfectly placed inside and some shelving. On the table, there are porcelain pies and some dishes on the shelves. I don't know why I loved this so much; maybe it brought me back to my grandmas house where when I was kid we would get all kinds of goodies. The owner, Nicole, welcomed me and I purchased the chocolate and mint pie and the bourbon pecan pie. I got home and tried both. I know this is the best pie I have ever eaten because the flavors I chose were for my husband and not pies I would purchase for myself. My god, the chocolate was so rich which I LOVED and only had a hint of mint, which also worked for me since I do not like mint chocolate treats... but apparently not anymore thanks to Nicole and Merielle. The pecan bourbon pie was also delicious and I may have had a slight buzz after one slice - there is def bourbon in there! Next time I come, I will make sure to pre order for the holidays because these pies need to be shared with my family, friends and the world!

Yelp
Such an adorable little pie shop! The bourbon pecan pie is a staple here. And they have really cute little knickknacks/gifts.

Yelp
This shop is small, but offers a mouthwatering selection. I took my pies to eat later as I wanted food that would travel well. I was given advice on reheating my Creole tomato pie (that's tomato with a whole lot of feta an onions as well), and it made a nice breakfast when I was rained in the next day. My chocolate strawberry hand pie, was a little on the small side, but was rich in flavor. Both had extremely flaky crusts. Their selection didn't jive 100% with my tastes and it didn't seem like a big place for special dietary needs. If you want a pretty looking pie, you'll likely be pleased.

Yelp
If you like pie, you NEED to visit Windowsill Pies in New Orleans. As an avid home baker and foodie, I've been following them on Instagram for about a year now, and decided to finally take a trip to New Orleans and try their pies myself (they do not ship pies). In a foodie paradise like New Orleans, the bar is high and Windowsill Pies more than exceeds it. Absolutely worth a short trip outside the usual New Orleans tourist spots. Arrived mid-morning on Wednesday, to the delightfully bright-colored, quaint little shop. Skipped breakfast (and later lunch) just so we could sample almost all they had to offer. Co-owner Marielle Dupré, was friendly, gracious and incredibly helpful. In addition to her baking skills, also makes excellent espresso-based drinks. Try the honey latte. We literally worked our way through almost their entire display case. Pie flights really should be a thing. Windowsill Pies does an amazing job sourcing local, fresh, seasonal ingredients, so their menu changes with the seasons. The case was the embodiment of Fall, filled with creations made with apple, pumpkin and nuts. Windowsill Pies prides itself on being "Southern styled, French inspired and New Orleans baked" and it shows in each slice. The quality, craftsmanship and uniqueness in their pies is unparalleled. Started with their signature vanilla bean bourbon pecan pie. Made with butter browned with vanilla beans, Steen's cane syrup and Maker's mark, this is not your grandmama's pie nor is it the sticky sweet store-bought you might have settled for. Perfect blend of nutty and sweetness. Next up was Apple Frangipane tart. Honestly never had anything like it. A delicate blend of apple and almond flavors in a buttery tart crust. This was my husband's favorite. On to the gingered pumpkin tart with candied pepitas. Creamy with just the right hint of ginger. Round 2 was hand pies. While the Croque Madame were already sold out, the winter root vegetable more than made up for it. Comfort food that fits in your hand, the flavors packed in this small bite were sensational. The apple cheddar was filled with apples perfectly baked and a sharp cheddar with just the right punch. Our last bites in the store were of the almond laced apple pie. And while we were absolutely stuffed by this point, it was worth every bite. In addition to grabbing some merch (perfect for some out of state friends), we grabbed the most adorable and decadent mini chocolate tarts with Earl Grey caramel. We also bought one of the most gorgeous chicken pot pies I've ever seen. Reheated for dinner, it was flaky, savory perfection. Cannot recommend this place enough. Hope to be back again soon to try more of their incredible creations.

Yelp
My husband is not a cake guy, so I was very happy when this pie shop opened! We've ordered his birthday pie here the last two years. Pecan is awesome, raspberry lemon was amazing! Love the ambiance, very quaint and has a few tables. I've met people there for a slice of pie.

Yelp
Pies are seriously one of my favorite desserts in the whole wide world. There's something about a delicious filling within a pocket of carbs that really make me happy. So when I found out Windowsill Pies opened up in the neighborhood last year, I was ecstatic! I've tried their bourbon cherry pie slice and their earl lavender chocolate bite. I have never been more in love with such desserts than I have with Windowsill. Honestly they have some of the most delicious treats you'll come across. I was immediately transported to this one bakery in Amsterdam that I stilll dream about today. There's a lot of European influence in their flavors. I also love that as I walk past their storefront, I can see them working and baking. It's so damn adorable and very European. This shop is a safe space and open to the LGBTQIA+ Community and is welcoming of everyone and anyone. There is a gender neutral bathroom here and it's a #WomanOwned business!

Yelp
So first of all if you like pie go here. Her crust recipe is perfection. Parking was easy bc it's the weekend, but the area is usually pretty lively so prepare for that. The baker, whose name i didn't get, has excellent customer service and local radio tunes. It's quiet and strong wifi, a perfect place to work. One star missing bc honestly, i was disappointed by the crust missing--i saw the pie before she cut it and it had a full crust. And although pie is my absolute favorite, best I can do is say meh for the sunroof-brandied cherry pie. Go anyway, treat your tastebuds!

Yelp
Finally tried this place as part of a Yelp Elite perk. The perk included 3 freebies: 2 mini pies - pecan and chocolate - and a winter root hand pie. In addition to my free pies, I also bought a croque madame hand pie. They offered to warm the pies, something I'm glad they did, but I turned them down because they would just be cold again by the time I got them home. First, the location. This is a part of the popular, expanding stretch of Freret Street. It was a pretty lively area, despite the whole technically still in a pandemic thing. The store itself was cozy and cute, a handful of small tables inside and two small ones outside. Now for the pies. I don't know that I've ever had a croque madame before, so I can't really compare it, but it was good. Same for the savory winter root pie. The pecan pie was also good, more flavorful than the average pecan pie; I assume that's thanks to the vanilla+bourbon. The star to me though was the chocolate tart. I'm a sucker for chocolate, so it started at an advantage. The texture, the cookie shell, the hidden caramel... yum! They have pies in different options: 2" mini rounds, 6" rounds, 9" rounds, slices, and handpies. At the time of writing this they offer delivery via the D'livery Nola app. If you're looking for a sweet treat or just something a little different, give them a shot.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! This bakery is the best place to get pies! I love how you can get slices of pies because sometimes that's what I want. I went in for a Yelp event and ended up leaving with a pie for myself. I decided on the lazy summer strawberry and cream pie. It is a light citrus cream with chamomile glazed strawberries on top. The crust is amazing. I super picky about crust but this was crispy and soft all at the same time. The taste was buttery too which is always a plus in my book. Will be coming back because it's run by some boss babes and that banana fosters is calling my name!

Yelp
Found out about this spot after receiving a yelp elite perk. I always want to support local businesses so I purchased a couple of additional items. Staff is super great! They have a small selection of hand pies but every one of them sounded tasty. I hadnt had lunch yet so I chose a hand pie with egg, gruyere cheese and seasonings. The crust was great but the inside lacked a bit in flavor for me. I also purchased the crawfish boil pie to eat the next day..i mean come on..when i saw crawfish boil i had to have it. While the crust and flavor were both excellent, I didnt really get a crawfish boil taste. I think I expected it to really taste like a boil in a pie but it was soooo good that it didnt even matter. Definitely want to return and try the other pies.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for mini desserts and Windowsill Pies 2" mini rounds have stole my heart. Even though they are mini, they are beautifully crafted and very delicious. My sorority ordered a bunch of the mini pies for an event at our house. They were a huge crowd pleaser, and they disappeared so fast. Everyone loved them because they the perfect size for people to grab one without the hassle of cutting slices of a pie, and you can easily try some different flavors. Next time I am on Freret St I will have to stop in the store for more mini pies!

Yelp
Picked up my goodies as part of the Yelp elite event and just couldn't wait to try it. I noticed this charming little place immediately. Parking is a bit of a nightmare currently because there is constitution going on close by, but I managed to secure a spot quite close. Upon entering I noticed the beautiful pies on display. I was quite mesmerized by how cute this little place is. While they don't have inside dining I did notice that they have outside seating. I picked up my goodies consisting of a mini bourbon pecan pie, one winter root vegetable pie And A earl grey lavender chocolate tart bite with caramel sauce . I also picked up a spinach and artichoke quiche. I spoke to one of the Owners and she was super nice. Really warm personality and very inviting. Just like a warm pie on a cold day I guess. I noticed that they are very covid safe- masks, screens, gloves etc. So the verdict? The bourbon pecan pie was very nice and omgaaard that crust. Just to die for. The vegetable root pie was really good too - once again pastry was amazing. The quiche was ok. I must admit I wasn't a huge fan because the artichokes was a bit too big and crunchy for my liking. Maybe some people will like that- not me. I picked it out and ate the rest. But I need to say this ..... that EARL GREY LAVENDER TART that was just to die for. It was so light and not too sweet... and that caramel sauce. Just genious. I need to get another one like now!! I think that tart alone gave my 5-star review. I really do love their interesting flavors and I can't wait to try some more...( well after I work off these calories). Do yourself a fab out and check this place out!

Jill B.

Yelp
The customer service is so pleasant and though I am not a big "pie" gal in the traditional sense, I really enjoy the savory hand pies and quiches! I appreciate the rotating seasonal flavors; keeps me coming back!

Swati S.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The pie crust is out of this world! I've had the southwestern scramble hand pie and the crawfish boil hand pie multiple times and both are scrumptious!ive also had the key lime pice and blueberry lavender honey pie by the slice and they are both excellent. My ultimate favorite is the dark chocolate early grey honey pie, and I can buy little ones just for me too!! Seriously, these women have perfected an art and they are amazing with their work! They also deliver via door dash and they have a happy hour from 3-5 for pie and coffee! Go there ASAP for some pie!

Yelp
I remember the first time I tried Windowsill pies way before they moved to their current prime storefront on Freret street. It was a cranberry holiday pie and it was fantastic. I knew they were destined for bigger things. I'm so excited to see where these ladies have taken their business! Great location. Loyal customers. Unbeatable sweet treats. I came for the Yelp Elite perk but couldn't stop myself from buy a slice of the honey blueberry pie. Blueberry is such a powerful flavor I wondered if I'd actually be able to taste the honey... AND I COULD! They're proportions and flavor profile were perfect. I also loved how obvious is was the the blueberries were fresh and local. They were so much smaller than the blueberries you buy at the store but if you've ever had fresh blueberries you know the flavor is better. And the crust was just the right amount of crisp and crunch! Don't sleep on this place y'all! Such a lovely Freret Street stop :)

Yelp
Super cute pie shop! The passionfruit tart was my favorite. The crust was buttery and the tart was very passionfruit forward and just tart enough. The cherry pie was a bit too sweet and needed more tartness - but the crust on this one was also great. The dark chocolate tarts were decadent and delicious with the caramel. I didn't taste any earl grey in the caramel but it was a good dessert still.
google avatar

Monique L.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try windowsill pies since it opened but never made it in. So glad this Yelp elite perk got me in the door cause their pies are GREAT! The mini pecan pie is, dare I say, as good if not better than my family's recipe. The chocolate tarte was delicious albeit a little bitter - but the caramel made up for that. The vegetable hand pie was good overall! The crust was fantastic, but I think they may have put anise in it which was too strong for my taste. Overall super happy with the experience and can't wait to try more of their pies. The quality and taste is excellent. And the customer service was very sweet.

Yelp
I've actually been to Windowsill Pies a couple of times but am only now getting around to review! I pre-ordered and picked up a gingered pumpkin tart for Thanksgiving that was fantastic. More recently, after being tempted through their Instagram page, I found myself NEEDING to try their lazy summer strawberry and cream pie! So much so, that I had it delivered through D'livery Nola! It was absolutely delicious and I could have eaten an entire pie in one sitting!! The delivery part was also very fast and probably too convenient!! I love it that they offer multiple sizes and slices on their pies too!

Yelp
We were coming from out of state to celebrate an 86th birthday and we had to leave early in the morning. We wanted to provide our departing guests with a breakfast box that they could take with them and decided to give Marielle a call at Window Sill Pies. She was extremely accommodating and easy to work with and we wanted a breakfast box that would contain a hand-pie that was more New Orleans themed along with fresh fruit and a juice. They created a Mardi Gras Hand-Pie which was decorated with the Mardi Gras Colors and filled with a decant fruit filling. They did not skimp on the fruit as the containers of fruit contained sliced strawberries, melon, and the sweetest fresh pineapple I have ever tasted. This along with the bottle of fresh orange juice (And not the cheap kind). Marielle beautifully packaged each bag and delivered them to the hotel for our guest to pick-up on their way home. This was the biggest hit of the trip and if I lived in NOLA I would be visiting the bakery daily. Thanks!!!!

Yelp
Windowsill Pies is nestled right on Freret street, and the inside is full of color, style and warmth not just from the pies but also from the shop owners Nicole and Marielle. They were welcoming and assisted with any questions that I had. I purchased a slice of Bourbon Pecan and it came with a cup of Cold Brew coffee. The pie had a flaky crust and rich pecan, bourbon filing, and the cold brew was made perfectly. I look forward to going back to visit.

Yelp
This was a cute store to stroll up to and enjoyed popping inside. They had several offerings and enjoyed sampling the winter root vegetable pie, bourbon pecan pie, and earl grey lavender chocolate tart. They all exceeded expectations and can't wait to return to try more of their offerings.

Yelp
I love this place. Need I say more? Yes... According to this app I must say more so here goes. I met a friend at Vals nearby for some day drinking. At one point we decided we need dessert. I suggested we just walk around and see what we find nearby. Well as fate would have it Windowsill Pies was one block over. The staff was very nice & welcoming. We ordered the Strawberry Chocolate hand pie & the Vanilla Bean Bourbon Pecan Pie. Both were delicious but my fave was the pecan pie.
google avatar

Helen M.

Yelp
The chocolate mini pie was delicious! Very ri h in chocolate and juat taste in overall. One of my faves to be honest and I dont like pie. The mini pecan pie was delicious! THE STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND ACCOMMADATING. THE SPOT WAS ORGANIZED AND.CLEAN.

Yelp
I found the cutest little shop yesterday. I love the name Windowsill Pies. It sounds welcoming. And true to their name, I received a warm welcome. The shop is described as a European-style coffee shop. It certainly looks like a place you would see in a romantic comedy where two people meet and experience love at first sight. Everything looks inviting! I purchased the dark chocolate earl gray tarts. The crust reminds me of an oreo cookie, but I'm sure it's more refined than that. The smooth dark chocolate ganache?? on top with a spec of gold leaf was calling my name like a Siren's siren. I think I could actually taste the earl gray tea. Interesting. I can't wait to try some of their other delights. I love that their aspirations include sourcing culinary talent from programs such as Liberty's Kitchen, Cafe Hope and Cafe Reconcile. That's an excellent commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity. And I'm willing to support any business with that level of commitment any day. As the business grows, I hope they create a plan to develop diverse talent and move them into managerial positions. This part of Freret St has come a longggg way. It would be nice to have Dunbar's back in the neighborhood, though. One of the casualties of gentrification. Yes, I know they have a new location on Earhart and I can visit Antoine's on the westbank, but it would be nice to have both of those black owned businesses on Freret again.

Yelp
First off - this place is amazing! I am not a big pie fan but after trying some as a yelp elite perk - I am now a fan! I ordered the banana fosters pie and took it to go! Luckily I snapped a picture before diving in! I am a big fan of banana fosters dessert and the pie did not disappoint. The rum sauce that came with the pie should be bottled and sold! I will def be back to check out the chicken pot pie!

Yelp
Everything is delicious! I enjoyed my time in Windowsill Pies..... Talking with one of the owners and one of the cashiers, definitely made me feel special and welcomed. This is going to be one of those cute, home based, local's favorite after we this pandemic.
google avatar

Yelp
I went here for the famous pie and was sad to discover it doesn't have a good shelf stable life. Because I was visiting and already had breakfast my plan went down the drain so I opted for the pineapple hand pie with cream cheese.

Kortney A.

Yelp
I was introduced to Windowsill Pies during a Yelp Elite event and we enjoyed some very tasty complimentary sweet baked goods, they were so tasty we devoured them on our way home. They included a delicious mini bourbon pecan pie and mini chocolate earl grey tart bite. We also picked up a crawfish pot pie to finish baking/warm at home and my goodness it was amazing. Ooey gooey filling, perfect flaky crust. Ready for cooler weather to repeat this dinner option!!

Yelp
Such a cute little pie shop that just popped up on Freret a few weeks ago! I dropped in for a second just to browse and ended up grabbing a slice of the almond-laced apple pie, which was delicious. The whole pies looked so pretty and would be perfect for Thanksgiving coming up. They also sell coffee and lattes and hand pies (including a breakfast hand pie!). And the people behind the counter were so welcoming, helpful, and friendly!

Yelp
Windowsill Pies is great!!! The ambiance at the shop is casual and classy! Nicole and her staff are so friendly and helpful! Nicole is one of the owners and she said they are working on getting a vegan/plant based option available; we can't wait to try it!!! I got a Yelp elite perk sample of their pecan pie and chocolate earl grey pie and gave them to my neighbor to try. She absolutely LOVED them! She said the pecan pie was one of the best she's ever tried and the chocolate was decadent and oh so rich. My sister and I both got pipping hot decaf americanos with soy milk. Coffees were great! The location along Freret is super convenient and hoppin! I highly recommend you try a pie or two and coffee from Windowsill Pies! Can't wait to see what vegan options they come up with!
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
I ordered the strawberry tart and the cherry pie and both were divine. I'm honestly not usually someone who loves pie, but the cherry pie was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. The strawberry tart was my favorite & a must try. I love that this spot is on Freret now!
google avatar

Akilah S.

Yelp
I've been to this shop a few times. There pies are really good! Service is always good. Not to mention this is a woman owned business. I'm not big on pecan pie but their bourbon vanilla pecan pie is absolutely amazing!
google avatar

Emily V.

Yelp
Wow!! These are the best pies I've ever had! I got the brandied cherry which is probably my absolute favorite pie. I also got the croque monsieur and winter root vegetable hand pies. Both were amazing though I think I liked the croque monsieur slightly better. The crust was so buttery and perfect on both though! I even liked the pecan pie even though I really hate pecan pie. I can't wait to come here to try more pies!

Yelp
Such a quaint little pie shop with so much charm! Many varieties from sweet to savory. Please try the earl gray chocolate tart, you will not be disappointed! Also the bourbon pecan pie is the best pecan pie I've ever had. They also have happy hour Wednesday- Friday 3-6 where if you buy a slice of pie you get a coffee for free. What a perfect way to get through the end of your day! The quiche is awesome to take home and warm up again, they tell you the direction on how this can be done. Following COVID safe measures with distance and masks. Can't wait to go back to this little slice of Heaven!

Yelp
Windowsill Pies popped onto my Yelp radar from a great yelper, Marielle S. I love pie, so me and Shari V checked it out. I've had the Vanilla Bean Bourbon Pecan pie twice, once in mini form and then as a legit pie, maybe 9 inches. I don't know. Whatever a normal sized pie is...that's what I had. Even though it's the same pie, I thought the minis were the better dish. Love the flavor. The bourbon does a good job of off-setting the super sweet factor. For the larger pie, the filling was a bit liquidy. We tore into our pie the evening after we picked it up. It's kind of messy because the pie filling runs a bit. We ended up freezing a few slices, and I actually enjoy the frozen version. The filling solidified which I thought worked to the advantage of the pie. The minis are great. You get all the flavor, and for me, they are a two-bite situation, so everything holds together nicely. The crust is very tasty. Had a flaky consistency with buttery flavor. The crust is hardy which made for a good crust-to-filling ratio. In short, I will definitely repeat windowsill pies.

Yelp
My husband and I got 2 things to go: the chocolate earl grey tart and the apple frangipane pie. Both were delicious. I really want to try their banana pie so will be back!

Yelp
I went for lunch today and I ordered a Sardou quiche. Total master piece. I grew up on quiches in Lorraine (France), and I felt like home. This feeling is priceless. The lady at the register couldn't be more charming and sweet. I talked to the baker for a minute and she was equally sweet and humble. They are wonderful people. Merci beaucoup!!

Yelp
I love pie! So I was super stoked to see Windowsill Pies open on Freret. Hand pies are something I grew with thanks to a Tennessee Grandma, and of course there's the grocery store little debbie style Hubigs. But nothing beat fresh fried pies or good crusty traditional. I really like the risks Windowsill is taking in approaching new flavor combinations. I went out on a limb and tried the Pear with Amaretto Cherry and Apple w/Cheddar Cheese. The pie crust was nice and flaky and the fillings flavorful. But, maybe I'm a traditionalist, it was too much flavor. Very strong and I wanted more fruit inside. The cost is a little high, for pie. So I may stick with the home made (and even the winn-dixie) versions for now. But I appreciate the options for fancy high end pies too.

Yelp
I came across their Instagram and immediately needed to try them out! The location is adorable and all the pies are set up in a display case that make you want a piece of each! I tried the strawberry frangipane tart, blueberry honey pie, chicken pot pie, earl grey chocolate tart, and the banana foster double cream pie! The strawberry frangipane was my least favorite, wasn't bad but nothing great about it. I'm usually not big into blueberry pies but this one sounded delicious with no added sugar and local honey. If you like blueberries then this is the pie for you. The crust was so light and flaky, I wanted more! The banana foster double cream pie is delicious and comes with a rum sauce that is great when warmed up! The absolute stars of the show are the chicken pot pie and the earl grey tart! The earl grey tart has such a great combination with chocolate, caramel, and earl grey. All the flavors can be tasted and nothing overpowers! The chicken pot pie was so good and filled with fresh ingredients. Their crust is phenomenal though! I suggest trying this place out next time you're in the area!

Yelp
I like their hand pies and between 3-5pm they do a free coffee with it. It's pretty super. Nice ladies work there and you can seem them make the pies as you walk by. Quality establishment.

Yelp
We heard of this place on "Stepping Out", a local show about food and dining in the New Orleans area. We bought the vanilla pecan pie. It was good, but very rich. The vanilla was so prevalent that you almost missed the taste of the pecans. We thought the price was expensive.
