Wind Star – Star Pride Review Our recent cruise on Star Pride, [Wind Star], was excellent..! We cannot say enough about the ship, staff, crew and service; it was all fantastic. [Barbados to Panama] Our cabin was lovely as was the entire ship; clean and spotless. The food was so excellent we gained 15 pounds, great selections and very yummy. The service was top notch; the crew members and staff provided excellent service fit for royalty. Our experience, [2 week cruise], was tremendous, extraordinary and awesome. The cruise from Barbados to Panama was excellent although some stops had nothing to offer; nothing much there. We lost a day of sailing due to a bad fuel issue which the Captain and crew handled professionally making sure we were safe and comfortable while the crew continued to provide us with excellent care. The company gave us a refund for the missing stops without us having to ask for it. We highly recommend Wind Star cruise lines; we will definitely sail with them again.

Windstar cruiselines - Star Pride totes a high end experience with luxury and minimum people as the main draw. Editing my review to say that all of the staff have been exceptionally kind, accomodating and always gave the best customer service. My complaint mostly inlies with the management and whatever decisions were made to lead the kitchen to its current state. A few times I had concerns basic food saftey steps were not in place While the boat was quiet and underpopulated, we constantly had our peace disturbed by over use of the PA systems that went off in every space of the boat. My greatest disappojntment,however, was the food. Menus made partenered with 3 James beard winning chefs. You would never know they had anything to do with this food. Every meal was unseasoned and often over cooked. I can count on one hand the number of good plates I had during my 10 day stay. My assumption is that corners were cut in every section of the food purchasing and preparation process. Ingredients tasted cheap. Especially the breads that made better use as cardboard. Even the porterhouse steak with a $30 upcharge was mostly a brick of fat I also included a picture of my least favorite common occurence. Burnt pastries at nearly every breakfast I could not reccomend Windstar cruises any less and I hppe you go with a better cruiseline

September 7th 2024, at 9:00 am, in the Pireus Athenas Port. We were sitting outside, in public seats, with my family (two kids, two people older than 65 and a person with a severe disability.) Sudently, a group of aproximately 6 people, wearing your company close and sings approuched us. We were in shock when they requested to leave the seats because those seats (just outside of the Port, in the street) belonged to your company. They were very invasive and agresive with the words they said, to force us to leave the public seats free. We denied becasuse two main reasons: 1) your company can not be the owner of public seats(in the street) 2) and the most important: :disabled people and elderly people are priority. We were affaid of this way of behaviour and we felt in danger, in front of 6 young people, requesting many times, in name of your company. Finally we realized that all of them were young employees from Windstar , welcoming clients for a new cruise, standing next to a wooden stand. It was 9:00am when the incident occurs and at 9:15 all of them were having brakfasts just there: some of them standing and some others siiting on the floor. Incredible to create such an embaarrasing situation because they wanted to have breakfast sitting.down in those seats. Windstar company, please consider this learning experience to do your best in the process of sharing good values and principles with your employees.

We were excited to try a 'small ship' experience, but at the same time, not a little trepidatious: HURLOPHOBIA (OK - I made that one up, as apparently there isn't such a thing as fear of motion sickness). Granted, we had gone from the massive 230K gross tons Royal Caribbean ships (5500 pax) earlier in the year to the Silversea Silver Moon (less than 1/5 the size, 600 pax) very successfully in June without making any waves - but the Star Breeze we sailed on was, at 13K GT, a third of the size of the Moon, and half its capacity. What now? As it turned out, we needn't have feared. Truthfully, the seas south of Seattle turned out to be a little less calm than we'd thought, but Star Breeze was steady. What made this cruise special for us personally was that our birthdays both fell within the cruise (well, mine was the day we got off...) AND, Mid-Autumn festival was right in there too. So we got a lantern, some moon cake, and celebrated this important day for Chinese all around the world by gazing at the moon while at sea (with a little help from dental floss to hang that lantern!) The cruise itself? Stupendous. Even though it's not all-inclusive like Silversea or Regent Seven Seas, the fact that they allow just one guest in the room to take the package meant that it made sense for me the lush to do that, and my wife does not have to be dragged into paying $75 per day - and the $75 per day includes wi-fi (which we can share) and pre-paid tip of $14.50 a day! We'll definitely do that when we sail on Windstar again. The fact that shore excursions were not included works out for our itinerary: Victoria and Seattle (2 days each), SFO, Catalina Island - these are all places for which we don't NEED to do excursions - finding your own way around to the likes of Butchart Gardens and Pike Market actually made more sense - the ship provides a free shuttle at every port to where the action is. Entertainment IS going to be more limited on a small ship, but cruise director PJ kept us all amused and amazed through his talented musician friends, as well as trivia, and (a bonus), a reading club (I almost finished The Night Circus on board). Food and service were both virtually spotless. As we always do (even when we have to pay the mandatory gratuity ourselves), it was fun to give out envelopes to people who have taken care of us throughout the cruise. Yes, we'll definitely do Windstar again if the opportunity presents itself, and yes, we would recommend them.

This was our first time in a Windstar cruise - a 7 night Tahiti islands cruise aboard the Star Breeze - and I have to say it greatly exceeded our expectations. The vibe inside the ship is so happy, warm and friendly. With a small ship like the Star Breeze, you only get 300 guests and about 200 crew members. Consequently, you get great service and also get to actually meet people and see them regularly throughout the trip. We met some wonderful, interesting people from all over the world. You also get to know the wonderful staff aboard and they were terrific. From the cabin attendant (Sarathi) to the restaurant servers (Rica, Jayson, Edwin, John, Rogelio, Ronaldo, Erikson, Corina, Ayu, Raffy, etc) the captain and officers, activity coordinators (Megan, Perl), Lorraine with the tours, the onboard Doctor, etc, everyone was professional, warm, attentive and super-friendly. We have traveled around the world and stayed at many different hotels and ships and this was the best service we ever experienced anywhere. Entertainment on board was great, from the shows to the classes and trivia games. The band that played at the bar (Dr Flavor) was fantastic and we danced many hours to their music:). The band and Megan even ran a great Music trivia game! I don't know how this company selects and hires their staff but whoever is in charge is doing a great job! The food was plentiful and of excellent quality. Besides the buffet, they offer some signature restaurants like Cuadro 44 (Spanish tapas) which we loved. Given the small ship size, we never waited long for anything - there were hardly any lines. We couldn't be happier with this cruise, and after this great experience, we really look forward to cruising with Windstar again. Highly recommended!
