"Dine on Chicago street style hot dogs at Windy City, which uses a Vienna beef hot dog and serves it on a steamed poppyseed bun. Requisite toppings include yellow mustard, relish, chopped onions, tomatoes wedges, peppers, a pickle, and a dash of celery salt for that salad on top experience. Find a second location at 9711 S. Eastern Ave." - Janna Karel

"Both Windy City Beefs N Dogs are back open for a nostalgic taste of Chicago at the Summerlin Gateway Center and on Eastern Avenue in the southeast. Check online for the latest hours, menu, and special deals and pick up Italian beef and Italian sausage sandwiches, wings, fingers, and deep dish pizza, plus Chicago dogs placed in a steamed poppyseed bun, then “dragged through the garden.”" - Bradley Martin

Deliciousness, I love stopping by for a hearty bite from this wonderful gem. Today was the beef and sausage and au jus. The perfect amount and the staff doesn't disappoint, this is a must try! I'm now craving chili cheese dogs and fries 🍟... This menu hits all my nostalgic cravings... Will be back soon! Keep up the fantastic job 🎉👏

I initially tried this fast-casual restaurant on 24 Jun 2017 based on a recommendation from an old co-worker. I made a comment to him that I've tried a Chicago Hot Dog for the first time at Chicago O'Hare airport (ORD) and was looking for an authentic place to experience a Chicago Hot Dog in Las Vegas (because that ORD experience was just amazing). Based on this recommendation, I brought my family to experience this place with me and the results were astonishing - I walked away with a full stomach, a smile on my face, and the desire to want more whenever I got hungry again. Fast forward in time, I've been talking nonstop about Chicago Hot Dogs for months. Also, due to a recent mix-up with our travels, I thought we were going to have a layover in ORD so I could get another Chicago Hot Dog (I was excited for this layover). After realizing that I wasn't going to have a layover in ORD, I was severely bummed-out because there's something to be said about eating one of those hot dogs when you're actually in Chicago. I know that Windy City Beef-N-Dogs is outstanding and can count on their quality, so my wife and I decided to eat here on 15 Feb 2024. I ordered the Chicago Italian Beef Sandwich (dipped) with French Fries and of course, the Chicago Hot Dog. Everything was just as remarkable as it was during my first visit, if not even better (if that's even possible). If I didn't care about my overall health, I'd probably find myself eating at this place everyday or every other day because of its unique, bold, rich, succulent, and savory flavors, until I get tired of it, or my heart gives out (whichever comes first). The price-to-quantity/quality ratio is reasonable. I especially respect how this restaurant supports the men and women in law enforcement. However, I was slightly concerned that this restaurant doesn't offer discounts to military members, both active and Veterans, (at least that's what I was told by the cashier). Regardless, the prices are great and well worth visiting to experience authentic, Chicago-style food. If you haven't been here before, then what are you waiting for? I highly recommend this place to all locals and visitors. Rest assured, my family and I, or at a minimum, just I, will be back in the near future and not wait almost 7 years again.

As a Chicago native I absolutely love the food. But their prices are outrageous and the staff, at least at the register as you don't really talk to the cooks, is as unfriendly as they come. Miss seeing the owners behind the counter. In addition to the outrageous prices, over $5 for a single hot dog, they charge a predatory 3% credit card fee. Even running debit cards as credit cards. All to try and guilt you into adding a tip because you have to fill out and sign the receipt since it was run as credit. The fee is extra profit as the vast majority of swipe fees are below 3%. Only American Express charges 3% or more and even then not in all cases. Average swipe fees for Visa, which backs literally every major bank debit card in the country, is only 1.5%. Love the food but can't justify the price or attitude.

Yum! Give me a Chicago dog and drag it through the garden all day long!!! Wide variety on menu that makes my curiosity want to go back over and over. Service is great, friendly, seem genuinely happy to be there and I'm always glad to see restaurants that keep up with the lobby/tables cleanliness.

I hadn’t had a Chicago Italian beef sandwich prior to my first visit here. My fiancé and I were inspired to try this place after binging the first season of The Bear. The service and atmosphere were awesome, the woman who took our order was very friendly as was the young man who rang me up for a WunderBar after the fact. The fries were cooked to my preferred cooking where they were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The Beef sandwich was a punch of flavor and, although I got it wet this time, I think next time I’ll have it dipped. We will definitely be back.

My husband thinks I'm nuts because I always get the Gravy Bread, and I can never finish it because for $2.50 it's a huge dish, but I can't resist. It's delicious! I also devoured my Char Grilled Vienna Jumbo Dog (so good!), and hubby enjoyed his Chicago Style Italian Beef and Sausage Sandwich, although he said the Italian sausage had more fennel than he likes. (He usually gets the delicious Maxwell Street Polish and Fries or the equally delicious Foot Long Vienna Chili Cheese Dog and Fries). Ordering at the counter was fast and efficient, and the smiling young man who delivered food to the tables was a delight.
