All good. But the fish sandwich does not taste like fish! They had mixed it with vegetables.

Google
At this restaurant, you'll find a mix of familiar American and Italian dishes. It's the kind of place that sticks to the basics—think fries, Caesar salad, a nicely cooked steak, and grilled fish. The food is reliably good, though it doesn't offer much in the way of surprises or culinary innovation. If you're after a meal that's comforting and straightforward, this spot will do the trick. Just don't expect to be wowed by any bold flavors or unique dishes. In short, it's a decent option for a simple, no-frills dining experience.

I had always yearned to visit this place, and my recent experience exceeded my expectations. Their wine selection is truly exceptional, offering a delightful range. Equally impressive is their menu, featuring delectable dishes. We savored calamari, onion soup, duck, and pasta goulash. While the goulash was decent, the other dishes were absolutely fantastic! The service also added to the overall pleasure of our visit.

New update. As I revisit some of my favorite restaurants, I’d like to see if it has kept its consistency, when it comes to all categories on my list. And I must say, yes, it has absolutely done so. We requested to be seated in Moisés’ station, because he spoiled us with his amazing personality and talent. Yet again, we were served not only amazing food, but our infectiously personable Moises, outdid himself. It clearly takes a great team of exceptional management and staff to run a successful business, and this restaurant has archived that. Keep up the good work.

We’ve been back to the Wine Cellar multiple times for lunch since my initial review, so I thought I’d post an update. In the past seven months or so, we’ve tried the French dip sandwich, the turkey-avocado sandwich, the ahi tower, and the crab cakes, in addition to the steak medallions and shrimp-avocado salad that we had back in January. All were cooked perfectly and tasted great. Service was equally efficient and friendly. I couldn't resist having a glass of Guinness with my French dip and I'm glad I did. Their unique technology results in a canned beer that's almost indistinguishable from what you'd get on tap. Any restaurant can have a good or bad day, but consistency is vital for success. I’m delighted to report that the Wine Cellar has been consistently good over an extended period of time. The Wine Cellar is a Los Gatos institution. This family owned and operated restaurant first opened in the 1960’s and has been in the same hands for 30+ years. Many of the staff have worked here for years and service has always been top notch. My wife and I have dined here often, mostly for lunch. The downstairs dining room is quiet and cozy with old world style decor and subdued lighting, but we prefer to sit on the large patio which we think is the best outdoor dining spot in town. Our last experience was at lunch on New Years eve day. I ordered the bistro steak medallions which I think are tastier and more tender than other beef items on the menu. The three pieces of meat were cooked perfectly (medium rare) but I’ll have to ask them to cut back on the sautéed mushrooms and onions next time so that the sauce doesn’t overwhelm the food. My wife enjoyed her double shrimp and avocado salad. She doesn’t really like tiny bay shrimp so our server just substituted a few more prawns without charging extra. The seared Ahi salad used to be her favorite, but the quality of the fish hasn’t been the same for a while. We make it a point to order their delectable mixed berry puff pastry for desert. The pastry is always fresh and flaky and the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream complement the berry compote nicely. If you’re in the mood for classic American fare with a California twist, I definitely recommend the Wine Cellar.

Google
Loved the outdoor patio. Our server was great and the drinks were delicious! Definitely a lot better than we'd anticipated. Try the gin and cucumber drink. Yummm! Halibut and seared tuna were great too.

Google
The food is spectacular with high-end chop and seafood offerings that don't break the bank. Our service host Garfield was super professional and very friendly. Our evening was a big success!

Google
We've been multiple times to the wine cellar for over 5 years, and I must say, they consistently deliver the same exceptional taste and quality. Their fried calamari remains unparalleled, a true culinary delight. What truly makes the experience memorable is Tim with his charming mustache – always welcoming and friendly. A gem that's worth every visit!" 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Yelp
I've been a Wine Cellar customer for over 30 years and their food has been deliciously consistent. I remember when Steamers used to be just steps away (sad they went out of business). My top three Cellar favorites: #1 Fondue, #2 Grilled Artichoke and #3 Chicken Marsala. All of their dishes are really tasty. Dine outside under the canopy of heirloom oak trees or at night with their twinkling lights. If you dine indoors, it feels like you are in are real wine cellar, because you are! Very cozy, underground, romantic, dim lighting, music and a wide selection of wine and cocktails, great place for a first date or anniversary. I hear people complain there's no parking, it's tight in the Old Town lot but go across the street there's plenty. I park in underground lot across from St. Luke's Church - your car stays nice and cool. Now, go get you some!

Yelp
We, a party of three, were welcomed by Coby even though the restaurant wasn't officially open. He escorted us to the "upper level" where there are extremely comfortable booths. We started off with glasses of delicious wines, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, from a great wine selection. Our meals consisted of Caesar and Wedge Salads, French onion soup, split pea with ham soup and fresh & clean mussels & clams. For dessert, we shared the chocolate fondue, with which I had a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. All were scrumptious! Our waiter, Charles, is charming, efficient and fun. Jaina kept our water glasses filled and checked in with us while Dennis ("The Menace") ensured all used plates were removed quickly. The elegant ambiance and the wonderfully hospitable wait staff made us want to linger. Definitely on the repeat list!

Yelp
I had the classic French dip sandwich for lunch. I thought it was great. The service is excellent. Recommend

Yelp
Consistently good food, and excellent, experienced service. The patio is special with good weather, and the cellar is cozy and even a bit romantic.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with some friends as we all have been wanting to try it... always eye it when in Los Gatos, but never visited. It is a cute location and underground, I guess hence the name, cellar, but it was smaller than I expected. Service was good and the drinks are mediocre, I did order a dirty martini, but it wasn't dirty so they had to bring me olive juice. I did order the stuffed pork chop and it was really good, but pricy... I think it was around $42, but it was cooked perfectly. Overall a good experience, but not sure if it is worth the Los Gatos pricing.

Yelp
Great wait staff. My favorite is the Soy Glazed Salmon. It's the best of any restaurant in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
Kevin the bar tender is amazing! Great service friendly nice atmosphere. Salads are my favorite fresh and tasty.

Yelp
I was taken to the cellar since it was hot outside. I sat at the bar. Wine was very expensive. When I sat down the bartender was eating behind the bar. Then the downstairs staff was eating at the bar. The grilled artichoke sounded like a great idea, but not. The middle was hot, the outside was cold. Covered in bell peppers. Sitting on a mound of produce. I was unsure what the sauces were. The stems should have been cut off.

Yelp
I love the Wine Cellar Restaurant! I love the outdoor patio seating, with umbrella tables, little lights at night, and fresh air, even though you are basically in the parking lot. Indoors, there is a very quaint ambience that feels a bit like Tuscany. There is a raised area with some tables, and a lower floor, as well as a few tucked into corners. And, for those with mobility issues, we found out there is a little freight elevator that can be used to get you down the stairs if eating indoors. One of the highlights is the cheese fondue. We had that in Switzerland for the first time many years back, and this was one of the few restaurants that served it in our area. It is delicious, although, there is not enough cheese to cover the variety of things on the platter--usually bread cubes, red apples, green apples, broccoli, & cauliflower. I wish they would give you more cheese so that you could finish off your platter. Instead, you end up wasting food. But just having this, with a glass of wine, with a friend, and you have a nice appetizer! The Old Town Harvest Salad is very good, as is the Seared Ahi Salad. I was recently here with people who tried the Chicken Marsala, the Grilled Artichoke, and the French Onion Soup, which were also said to be good. They also have a nice selection to drink: we recently tried their Old Fashions, which took me back in time. It was tasty, and came with a fresh cherry (vs. a Maraschino), and their wine selection is also nice. It just has an enjoyable atmosphere to have a meal. I would give it 5 stars, but had an incident one time with one of the waiters who has been there a long time, where some people had left from another table that we didn't know, and he hadn't charged them for part of their order, so he put it on our tab. When we pointed it out, he said, "Well, those people have already left..." That does not ever mean that you should charge someone else for their meal. So very unacceptable. Since he is still there, I would always check your tab. I also had some issues in the past in trying to get them to cook my ahi tuna to medium rare, rather than just seared, and then having them way overcook it, so that it was inedible, so there have been a few issues, but overall, it is one of my favorite local restaurants to enjoy a meal.

Yelp
Overtime, this place has become one of my favorites. The service is always good and friendly. I've been there for both lunch and dinner, and I've never been disappointed with the food. Some of my favorites are the ahi tuna and ribs. They have some rotating specials and you can never go wrong with one of those. They had a pork tenderloin in a peppercorn sauce in one of their previous specials that was amazing. I tried to recreate it at home and failed miserably. They also have a great cocktail menu.

Yelp
Something has definitely changed! and not for the better. From the taste and quality of the food to the customer service , everything seems to have gone downhill. We used to come here often, but our last visit will unfortunately be our last. The food lacked flavor, and in the dishes that did have taste, the sugar was so overpowering it made them inedible. The meat didn't seem fresh, and while the service was okay, the staff all looked unhappy... which added to the unpleasant atmosphere.

Yelp
Love the food! Definitely try the calamari its one of the best! Place has really nice setting and the service is always on par.

Yelp
Getting together with our very generous friends! They texted us a few days earlier insisting on treating... My wife suggested we not fight for the bill and we made sure they knew it would be our treat next time we get together. Quality/Quantity - Appetizers family style Steamed Mussels & Clams - Glad someone chose this for an appetizer, because I wanted some. :) Cheesy Garlic Bread - Couple of orders. Good, but NOT $6 good. Monterey Bay Calamari - Okay, I could NOT taste the horseradish in the cocktail sauce. Which was weird because you could see they gave a generous amount... Crispy Crab Cakes - Couple orders for the table, one of my daughters favorite. I was worried when it came out because it does NOT look appetizing. But wow, it was really good. Actually, the cole slaw that came with the crab cake was my favorite out of ALL our appetizers!! And I don't usually eat my veggies, so that says a lot! Soy Glazed Grilled Salmon - I thought the salmon was cooked perfectly, medium rare. See picture. Chicken Marsala - Sorry, but the chicken was a little dry. Although, the sauce was good. I think it might have been the same sauce as my dish, the Bistro Steak. Bistro Steak - My steak was also cooked to perfection, medium rare. I felt like I was eating filet mignon. Grilled New York Steak - Generous portions, our friend had to take half home. Or was he saving room for dessert also? Special Sea Bass - Half the table got this, that says it all! Overall, a very extensive menu. We also did not take advantage of the wines... next trip. I am trying to drink less, but then again, I am going to a winery after I finish writing this Yelp review, LOL. Rich Chocolate Fondue Dessert - My daughter craved this, she sacrificed eating a smaller entree so she could have dessert. Key Lime Pie - Good, but really nothing to write about. Atmosphere - Located in the Old Town Mall. Good size restaurant, kind of like a maze...? Private rooms available, hidden away. Indoor or outdoor seating, no reservations for outdoor seating. Table, booth, or bar seating. They have stairs and an elevator to the entrance. Semi open kitchen. Limited mall parking. Open 6 days a week, see pictures, Yelp, or website for hours. Cut and pasted from their website: "If it's busy, we often stay open later... Or if it's slow, we may close early, so please give us a call!" Service - We closed the place, and they stayed almost an hour after closing to wait for the last customer to leave. Our friends tipped accordingly! Price - Expensive, but our generous friends paid. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1966!

Yelp
I have been going to the Wine Cellar for over 20 years. It is the place to go in Los Gatos for American food. I usually come here once per month for lunch. I came here for a birthday dinner here recently. Everyone in the party enjoyed their food.

Yelp
Just came back from a wonderful experience here. It's pouring, but we wanted to enjoy and live it up since I do not plan on being out tonight. This restaurant is located next to Anthropology, walk down the staircase to the "cellar." We did not know what to expect since it's NYE, so I made reservations via OpenTable prior. Service was impeccable. Charles, our server was such a delight and so friendly. Food came out quick, my water was refilled, and our empty platters were taken away almost instantly. A very intimate and rustic place to dine. Prices can range between affordable to expensive depending on what you want. I've had steak two days in a row so I wanted either the spaghetti bolognese or the Philly cheesesteak. It comes w/ a side of mixed green salad and fries (I opted for sweet potato fries). He ordered the grilled ribeye, medium rare. It comes w/ mashed potatoes and vegetables. For our appetizer, we ordered the cheesy garlic bread and the french onion soup. The French onion soup was flavorful, beefy, rich, and sweet from the caramelized onions and Gruyère. The cheesy garlic bread was light and garlicky. It was toasted perfectly w/ a slight crunch. My Philly was served on a toasted pita bread. The sliced steak was juicy. The garlic aioli and the warm pita gave it the element no other cheesesteak can emulate. The sweet potato fries were delicious, subtly sweet and salty. The side mixed green salad was fresh and crisp. I had a bite of the ribeye and boy, was it tender! Cheers to Charles and the rest of the staff who made our lunch a great and fun atmosphere. Everything we ordered was delicious. I cannot believe I have never been here. We will be back next year!

Yelp
Tonight my family went to the Wine Cellar in Los Gatos for dinner to celebrate Mother's Day. We ordered the Steak and Frites, the Filet Mignon and the Parmesan Crusted Alaskan Halibut. First, the restaurant was understaffed severely. While the ambiance was great as it usually is, except for some yelling in the kitchen as we left. We were seated at 4:20 for an early dinner. Our order was taken at 4:45 and our food didn't come out until after 5:30. For the price of the food the wait was extremely too long. For the steaks while the flavor was delicious the sear was crusted a little too much making it hard to cut. As for the halibut, the cook on the fish was great and the crust was great but I didn't taste any Parmesan in the dish. Parmesan is the first word in the dish name so it should be present in the dish taste.

Yelp
Always fantastic! We ordered the Crab Cakes and they arrived on a plate of pickled cabbage, pickles and pickled ginger what a nice surprise they snuck into the appetizer. It was a true traditional crab cake bursting with crab. Dynamite! We also ordered the Pear Salad. It arrived with two different kinds of pears, candied walnuts and a nice aged blue cheese. It all combined nicely. And a nice shout out to our server Chris! We talked him into trying the Crab Cake dish this evening on his break. That's how much we loved it! He was personable and professional. Thanks Chris! It has been a bit since we have been here, what nice welcome back. They still outperform expectations.

Yelp
I have dined at this restaurant since the early seventies the food is outstanding the alcohol selections are numerous, you must try their cheese fondue. The service, ambiance and food selection is first cabin, for sure. I don't mind the prices because this is a first class restaurant.
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
Our server was awesome but the food is really not good, no seasoning , and tastes very bland. Would not recommend.
google avatar

Ross D.

Yelp
Please bring back the cheddar fondue. We love the chocolate fondue and the outdoor seating.

Yelp
I highly recommend the Wine Cellar! It's an intimate, rustic, peaceful environment. What a wonderful dining experience I had. I definitely plan on going again. The staff were kind, courteous, engaging and fun. The service was great! Everything we ordered was delicious. Quality ingredients, beautifully plated and delectable! Plenty of parking. Choice to eat outside or down the stairs in the "Cellar". I don't recall the entrance having alternate ways to enter, other than stairs (something to consider if anyone in your party is disabled or has bad knees). Overall, it was a delightful experience! I can hardly wait to go again. If you're in the area, go! You'll be glad you did.
google avatar

Yelp
I went to the Wine Cellar last week for a surprise bridal shower for my cousin and I could not recommend them enough! The service was excellent throughout the afternoon and the hostess did an excellent job helping with the surprise. I had clam chowder and a burger and both were very delicious. I did not get to eat the appetizers as I am allergic to shellfish but they looked very appetizing. I hope to come back here with friends or on a date night, well done Wine Cellar!

Summer M.

Yelp
I loved the ambiance and the fondue cheese but I was hoping there was more fondue options.. other than that I loved the beef pasta I ordered And the service was amazing very kind It was my boyfriends birthday, they had brought out ice cream but didn't sing
google avatar

Tiffany W.

Yelp
Overall our service was not bad! We went with a group of 8 and our server was incredibly kind and loved that he made us laugh a lot so nothing against him. Food: I'm giving it two stars because both our orders filet mignon and ribeye steak were wrong. We asked for medium rare and it was well done. This is a no no especially since both were each $63 per plate. Once you over cook meat, there's no going back to fixing it without wasting the meat so we ended up just eating it which is frustrating because we paid $150+ for the food but because we don't like to waste food we just did with what we got and because we were with friends we didn't want to damper the mood by complaining about especially since we had just waited 40 minutes for our plates to come out. The veggies were also over done. Super soggy and tasteless. Didn't taste fresh at all! We also got a few appetizers and desserts. not a huge fan of the berry puff pastry dessert but the banana sundae dessert dish was absolutely delicious!!
google avatar

Khiet E.

Yelp
Came here with a group of people for a going away lunch. Customer service was good. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Tartare. It was not good at all. It was soaked in soy sauce, way too salty, and too much wonton and not enough tuna. Honestly the best part about my lunch was the banana sundae, omg this was so good.
google avatar

Linh L.

Yelp
Great place for outdoor seating option, with fresh food and classic dishes. They fill up quickly so we made reservations and outdoors is first come first serve. A perfect spot for girls birthday lunch celebration! One downside is the parking is limited and you may have to circle around or go further away. We happen to come on a Friday 13th, and their computer system was down and a few other issues. Our server seemed to chalk it up to the day. The service was slow and they did not get our friend's order correctly. We had to ask them for water refills and it seemed like they were probably short staffed too. Since it was my first time eating here, I will give it the benefit of the doubt that my friend likes this place enough to come here for her birthday lunch. I get it, they could be having an off day. But this review is based on my experience. The food I ordered was good. Since I don't live nearby, not sure if I would come back, but maybe I'd give it another chance if I visit my friend.
google avatar

Zugey K.

Yelp
Mid at best. Los Gatos (to me) is low key Orange County so I come into these spaces with that mindset. Great service, accommodating to the disabled (the wheelchair elevator NEEDS someone to operate from downstairs OR ELSE). In my 2-3 times, food is good for what you're paying for. Because if my party & their capabilities, I have always eaten upstairs. Extra restrooms are downstairs thru event space. Good for grandma and grandpa type eating

JoeandKari C.

Yelp
We went for dinner last night. The staff was great as always and worked as a team. We enjoyed a cucumber bliss and a hibiscus spritz. The Hungarian goulash was fabulous. The duck confit and ban roasted breast were once again perfectly prepared (yes, it has become by go to dish). And for dessert, we enjoyed the key lime pie. Presley and everyone else too, thank you for the service.

Yelp
Yummy place! The food was good, portions are huge which I appreciate. My favorite was the seafood pasta and the bistro steak. Everything is pretty well seasoned but it took a while to come out. Their calamari is super yummy too! I love the batter and the sauce, the horseradish gives it a great kick. The drinks are great and are pretty strong which is always a good thing! Everything is decently priced and the ambiance of the restaurant is very relaxed and I appreciate the dim lighting. Definitely check this place out! It checks a lot of the boxes for me.

Lisa A.

Yelp
Wildly disappointing experience. Was really looking forward to eating here and for me it was a total fail. Our server was the worst I've had in ages. She was frazzled, left the table before we finished ordering, rarely came by to check if we needed anything and when I pointed out that my appetizer didn't come the way I ordered it she sort of said oh yeah, oh well, and walked away. The main course was served in a big messy pile and I gave up on it a few bites in. My husband enjoyed his but I wouldn't consider returning here.
google avatar

Yelp
The Wine Cellar Restaurant is in a great location in downtown Los Gatos. The restaurant is large with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Overall, this restaurant fell short of expectations. We visited for lunch and the service was pretty slow. The food was okay but it didn't have the freshness and quality we expected for a restaurant in the location. I ordered the Thai salad and the shrimp tasted like it was previously frozen then heated up. It was way too fried. Someone else at our table got the ahi salad and the ahi wasn't fresh. The salad was mostly wonton chips and the lettuce was disappointing. We probably won't be back.
google avatar

Sunil R.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner here. It was in large part due to the company but the restaurant was really good too. It reminds me of an old-school restaurant but in a good way. The staff was very friendly and familiar. The menu was also old school but the quality and flavors were great. I enjoyed the tuna tartare but it could have used a little less wasabi. The garlic bread was sinfully good. The ahi tuna with rice, bok choy was excellent and the sauce was yummy. The chocolate fondue was a good way to end the meal. The cocktails were good too! I hope they do well and are around for a long time. They are heavily overshadowed by their new neighbor Barcelona Teleferic which is the new belle of the ball.
google avatar

Karen A.

Yelp
This is a great restaurant to go to in Los Gatos and enjoy the time, the area, and the ambiance of a small town. They have a nice little outdoor eating area to enjoy your little feast. There's great wine, wonderful small bites, such as calamari, and some lovely entrees... You can't go wrong here!!
google avatar

Gina O.

Yelp
Came here for an elegant and intimate gathering and it was amazing! I ordered the salmon entree and it was savory and delicious! My friend order the ribs and it was very tender! The service was very tentative by refilling drinks, taking orders and bringing the food. Parking: limited but I was lucky to find parking in the front I would recommend this place!
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
This is the place to go to if you want fondue!! Was delicious, comes with bread, apple, and veggies to dip. Pasta was also tasty and generous portions! Our waiter was funny and treated us well. Received a free birthday ice cream sundae which was also delicious! Would recommend for a date night or any celebration!

Yelp
That lunch was over the top excellent. French dip was really good. The presentation of the salad was amazing. Definitely recommend for a group. Tip included with party of 6+. Excellent service

Angelo A.

Yelp
We have eaten dinner here on numerous occasions and the food is fantastic, the service is great, and the ambiance is very good.

Nick S.

Yelp
I'm posting this in hopes that anyone who visits with food allergies doesn't have the same experience. Unfortunately despite being very clear about my food allergies with my server and asking it be noted to the chef, my salad was mixed in the same bowl as the regular salad and this cross contamination resulted in me experiencing an allergic reaction the rest of the day with severe stomach pain, hives and wheezing. We notified the restaurant in hopes that they will take allergies more seriously. What is frustrating is their response is I should have noted these were severe allergies. I'm not sure why that makes a difference but if you are going and do have allergies make sure to note that. Unfortunately my allergies are not a preference and are a medical condition and I was very clear with the server in asking them to note the allergies.

Yelp
This is our go to restaurant whenever we visit Los Gatos. Whether it's in the summertime and you can sit outside or in the winter when you have to sit inside, they've got great food. Personally, I like the French dip. I also love the roasted artichoke, delicious. I look forward to our next visit. And the wait staff is awesome!

Leanne ..

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to celebrate my birthday somewhere new, but we were both very disappointed with the quality of the food for the high price. It was mediocre like an overpriced Applebees. The babyback ribs and braised short ribs were nothing special and lacked flavor. The fries were the worst we've had anywhere. We did enjoy the Caesar salad and coconut fried prawns. Our server was nice and understanding, but we won't be coming back. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and great food with indoor and outdoor seating. I like to sit in the bar area - the staff is very friendly and attentive. My friend and I were there yesterday and ordered drinks and appetizers. When the food arrived we realized we had mistakenly ordered the wrong appetizer. Without blinking, both of the staff delivering the food said "Not a problem, it will just be a few more minutes". Nice! I highly recommend the abalone (appetizer portion is a nice size), grilled artichoke, lamb chop lollipops, parmesan truffle fries, and, of course, the Swiss fondue. Will return very soon!
google avatar

Cindy H.

Yelp
I recently celebrated my birthday in Wine Cellar and this place lived up to my expectations. Their Library Room is gorgeous, staff were very attentive with very good customer service. The restaurant owner, Lisa, who helped coordinate my event even checked in to say Hi and made sure things are going smoothly. I'm so Thankful for the lovely experience! Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Every time that my family and I have attended this restaurant, we are always beside ourselves! They have such an elegant way of presenting food that even me, as a semi vegetarian is impressed with the display of animal parts, elegantly placed as a design on a plate in front of us. Well, somebody else in my family. Lol we had one of their private rooms at this particular family dinner, and it was perfect! Completely within the wine cellar we had our own music, and we could hear everyone at the whole table of 12! all of the plates were delicious and eloquently presented, and our surfer was simply adorable!! I forget her name, but she was from Chicago, which is great, because my boyfriend and I are going to be traveling there in the spring! She was younger and came out here for a new start, and it was lovely to see such a young college student be so personable specially, with my parents as well as myself and my boyfriend! We will definitely be back at another family gathering! And if you ever get the chance to go to the wine cellar, you have to get their strawberry shortcake dessert!! I'm pretty sure it's seasonal, but it's simply wonderful! The perfect amount of elegant, crispy, puff pastry, and the freshest strawberries, with the perfectly made whipped cream, it Hass to be done all in house!!

Andrea S.

Yelp
Disappointing because we came for a birthday celebration and were charged $22.- for a Caesar salad consisting of romaine lettuce and dressing!! I had only requested no anchovies. On top of that they brought out a surprise birthday dessert for which they charged $7.- and the birthday girl is vegan!!!

Yelp
The food is excellent and the offer Gluten Free options which is what I need. The service was better than average. You have to go down stairs (maybe 20 to 30 steps) to get to the front of the restaurant which is fine. The ambiance is alright (a bit dated but still acceptable). It can be VERY loud in there when there are large parties. There was a table of 8 ladies having dinner and they were so loud that we couldn't hear each other. The noise level got so much better after they left. I have to eat gluten free and they have several GF options marked on their menu which is helpful and we were able to modify a couple of things for me. I ordered the warm beet salad with goat cheese. It looked pretty and tasted good (although there was only a hint of goat cheese and I was hoping to be able to taste the goat cheese but it was not really detectable). I enjoyed the salad. For entree, I ordered the short ribs with wild rice and asparagus which was delicious. My hubby ordered the salmon w/mash potatoes and veggies. He got a good size salmon and it had a white sauce that he really liked. Their entrees are about $38 to $50+, Salad was $19. I think when you charge about $40 for an entree, then if bread is offered for the table, you should not be charging separately for it or at least mention that there is additional charge for bread. The waiter offered bread for my husband (I am GF so I can't eat their bread). My husband said ok, sure. He had one slice of their bread and there was $3 charge for bread!!! $3 is not going to make or break anyone who is spending $40 on an entree but that was an absolute turn off and I thought how cheap of the management to sneak in a charge for bread!! I would have given then a better rating if it was't for that.

Yelp
Not what it used to be. Wine by the glass is outrageous. French onion soup had almost no cheese and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. Extra, little container of cocktail sauce was $2.50!! They didn't even take the cost of the soup off the bill. The Abalone was tender, but sliced extremely thin . They should not be charging those prices for food that is no longer quality. The place is not what it used to be .

Yelp
Food was good, server was very nice. They rushed us through the service and. Couldn't wait for us to leave. Dinner arrived about 5 minutes after appetizers. They've packed too many tables in. Super crowded. Felt like a cafeteria
