Very impressed with Jon my consultant. He has been very responsive throughout the auction process. I consigned about 1,000 bottles of wine and over 55% were sold in the first week. We are now closing out the second week auction and just sold another 15%. Thanks Jon and WineBid!

As a first time user to ship Napa wine internationally to Australia, it was very easy and quick with WineBid. Thanks! Yes, it was very expensive to have the wine sent using FedEx plus customs costs, but that was my choice.

First time using the pick-up option, it was very quick and easy! I pulled in to the flagged area and someone came out to help me within a few seconds! They asked for my name, and retrieved my order in about one minute! Very convenient, will use that option again.

For truck drivers that deliver here. I've delivered here several times. I usually come in late the night before and park in the dock overnight. Staff is friendly, super quick to grab their few pallets and I'm gone.

Too many issues, big waste of time, including that they lost my order. I auctioned some wines on their site, and scheduled a pick up in Napa. The day before the pickup day, they informed me that my appointment time was actually outside of the business hours, and I need to changed. I agreed. As I arrived, they simply could not find my items. They suggested to complimentary ship it to my house. After a few days of not hearing from them, I reached back to them, and they have to cancel my order and refund. Overall, this is a bit waste of time from bidding, scheduling, and travel to pick-up, and dealing with customer service.

Have been purchasing wine with them for a decade so have tens of thousands of dollars worth of experience. First the good news. The website is excellent and easy to use. Help desk always very helpful. Description of the bottle has always been accurate. Of the hundreds of bottles purchased I can only remember 2 being flawed. Now for the other side. Probably the most important thing is to know your prices. Not infrequently the starting price is higher than what you would pay in the store and that's before the 17% fee. Not sure why they allow sellers to do that as it diminishes the idea of an 'auction'. Before buying be sure to check your wine on wine searcher to assess value. They list reviews from wine magazines but do not include the date of the review which is important on older wines. They do not include negative reviews. Pick up at their facility works well although they changed their policy and now prohibit use of the facilities which is rough on their bushes. They previously stored wine for 6 months without charge which worked well for those of us coming from some distance but now charge $100/yr for that service. You judge the 17% buyer's fee. Certainly higher than K&L's 5% but less than Spectrum's 21%. So overall their product is very good but be sure to check for value before purchasing.

I purchased and cellared two cases of wine over the last few years from WineBid. I used their in-house shipper and received exceptional customer service and good value. The wine arrived to Atlanta without incident, but UPS then lost one case of wine and cooked the other case before delivery. The customer service and shipping teams communicated with me through the whole process and eventually refunded my entire purchase price, shipping and membership fees. No avoidance or casting blame for the issue, rather 100% accountability for a problem that was completely out of their control. The incident was unfortunate but WineBid has earned my future business and 5-star review.

NEW review: I have been buying a lot from them for over a year already, 99% of the bottles have arrived in perfect conditions and as described. I think they have amazing capabilities and features like, high resolution photos for each bottle, accurate descriptions, and professional scores with notes, value and sales prices history. You can sort your searches by scores, popularity, do a price range, country, regions, style, you named it. But what I’m more impress with is their costumer services. I have interacted with a couple of people there and they always find the way to help, my favorite contact is Debbie, so far there has been NOTHING that she can’t fix, she has always made it right even in the most strangest situation created by myself (errors). OLD review: This review is already overdue but it’s better late than never. Also, I had a few more month to play with the website and iPhone App. As far as the functionality of both they are fantastic, super high quality photos of the bottles, so far all I have gotten has been properly described and in very good shape. You also get professional reviews, scores and you can sort and filter by regions, country, price range, scores range, popularity, you name it. It’s a pretty good and functional site/app. For those that have used wine.com this one works much better and prices are most of the time lover. My experience calling them for shipment creations and a billing issue has been handled perfectly so far, I have interact a few times with Debbie Holbrook and she is a star! My only criticism of the whole site is that 17% commission on top of the wine cost is a little high when you are looking for high end wines like Harlan, Chateau Mouton, Penfolds Grange, etc. So until now I have stayed below the $200 mark for the most part. I which there were a lower commission bracket for those that order higher value/volume…

Yelp
Bad customer service. Avoid. Will not use them ever again. Drove 1 hour round trip and was not given correct order even though Brian was questioned and confirmed order was correct. Got home order was shorted. Had to drive back and pick up rest of order

Yelp
I find so many great wines on here. I stopped by the other day to pick some up. They bring them out curbside. They will store what you don't want to take.

Yelp
Tried Winebid recently for the first time. Purchased a 1991 Dominus that was cooked. The bottle showed leakage, which wasn't disclosed when they listed it for sale. Suffice it to say, I won't buy from them ever again. Wouldn't give any star if allowed.

Yelp
Purchased a 2004 Leoville Las cases on their site they sent me a completely different bottle of wine and now tell me they never had the correct bottle that was pictured on their website and they offered me the ability to keep the one they sent me for full price or they will send me a shipping label and hold my funds until I return the other one. The customer service rep made me feel like it was my fault somehow and they don't need to take any responsibility for their screw ups. Never again.

Yelp
I have had only a single (last!) experience with WineBid, buying from a couple of auctions and then arranging "temperature controlled" shipping. The issue is that the wine came A WEEK EARLIER than they indicated when arranging shipping! Early is good, right? Not when you're out of the country and arranged a shipping date based on when they told me it would arrive. I emailed them and it took DAYS to get a response while the wine sat in a hot warehouse baking. I asked for a refund and they said no because "the wine arrived when expected" except -- (i) the wine never arrived (it was undelivered and returned to sender), and (ii) it was expected a WEEK LATER. "Molly" of customer service was neither understanding nor polite. Some of the wine in the shipment was 50 years old so shipping conditions and timeliness matter. But apparently those things (and customers) don't matter much to Wine Bid.

Yelp
I was disappointed to discover for myself that the negative reviews here are justified. I pulled the inspection sticker off of a bottle of 1998 Chateau Haut Brion that I purchased from WineBid and found that the inspection sticker hid a flaw in the bottle. Someone at WinBid deliberately concealed a flaw in the bottle with their inspection sticker. What kind of business does things like this?

Yelp
This is nothing but a scam. They knowingly put off condition up for sale and then sit on the money after the final bid before they ship. If you want to be conned, then by all means do business with them

Yelp
I just made my first purchase from Winebid and had a great experience. They are very responsive and have an excellent selection.

Yelp
Winebid is an auction house for wine. They carry a lot of wine that they get from various sources that are selling the wine. This review is for their customer service and business practices and not their wine. I bid on and won an auction in early August for some wine that I normally get through an allocation but had missed. Before I bid I checked their shipping policies and also talked to customer service. They stated that they would ship within 1 to 2 weeks of auction close. I won the auction and expected the shipment in a couple of weeks. It did not happen. After a month I called them and they stated the shipping was held because of the temperature in Napa. It had gotten hotter so I waited again. In September multiple weeks passed that met their 'shipping criteria' but they did not ship. During that time I received an email that said the Auction Cycle was closing and that the wine would be shipped the following week, That did not happen. Finally after the second week in October I called again and forced a shipment. I received it 2 days later, even though it was next day service. Supposedly I was not home at 9:20 AM. Since I was cleaning my gutters in front of my house all morning that day I have no idea how they could have missed me. My take away from this experience are that I will probably never deal with winebid again. Their policies and their customer service responses do not reflect their actual practices. They have a higher premium than others, but I knew that going in. However you cannot count on them shipping in a timely manner or believing what they tell you.

Yelp
I used Winebid 3 months ago. If you are thinking of selling your wine, do not use these guys. Winebid is unethical, does not communicate and would not give me a copy of the contract I signed. I had to contact the BBB regarding their practices. There are plenty of wine auction houses out there that are fair and ethical. Please do your research
