Wing Hing Chinese Restaurant

I love the food but it's not worth it. Ordered off Ubereats the last few times, home style bean curd & white rice, broccoli & white rice AS LISTED ON THE MENU and then they charge you more when you say to remember the rice. Frustrating.

Just ordered off Grubhub and got dumplings and chicken and broccoli….it’s inedible !!! The sauce for the dumplings taste like fishy soy sauce? And the chicken and broccoli taste and smells like it’s been in the fridge for a week too long. I gave it a try as it was suggested but big regret. Has to go in the trash since no one will touch it, not even my dog. Highly recommend anywhere else.

Do not order from here!! The food is nasty & they don’t even give white rice with pints/quarts of food. Nor do they give egg rolls with combo platters like any other Chinese restaurant. Them when I questioned if they tried to charge me another $10-$20 to deliver just rice & an egg roll, They are literally ripping people off by over charging for regular meals yet not supplying the full meal!! I spent over $30 on chicken/ broccoli & egg foo young.. no rice no egg roll.. nothing!!!

The food straight up sucked no taste & dry. The Egg rolls n Shrimp roll was burnt and threw in 2 for free all burned up. Thank You but no they should have kept those I will stick to what I know and this isn't it. This is my 3 rd time trying the first order was good the 2nd orders No Bueno .

So I have going to this place well before the renovation. I just came back with my post renovation order. Not the same 1- no more combination dinners. Now you pay extra for the egg roll. This place has to be the only take out Chinese restaurant with no combo. And, the egg roll is 1/3 rd smaller and very hollow inside. 2 . How about this. The dumplings, if you want fried dumplings, not steamed, $1.00 extra. That’s like being charged extra because you want your steak medium rare. 3- Chicken with garlic sauce, I’m still looking for the chicken. Could they cut the chicken pieces any smaller, to the point of shredded. They just lost a long time customer. I’m done with this place. To the owner, “Bad Moves” Lenny

I order from her tonight, food was not cooked all the way. It was the WORST Chinese food I have ever had. Now my whole family is sick to our stomachs. We called this business to make a complaint and all was said was of I give you free dumplings next time. THERE WILL NEVER BE A NXT TIME!!!!!

The person delivering my food was rude because I didn’t give a tip . He pointed two times on the receipt that I did not give tip and I said yes I know I don’t have it. Every time I ordered from them I always give a tip . This is my first time not being able to give a tip but needed food due to being stuck at work. I was very disappointed in the service because of the attitude I received . I will not be ordering from here ever again .

Where do I begin, to tell the story of how horrible this place is. There looks like a dead insect but I couldn’t verify because it went straight to the garbage. Very salty and again when I see what looks like roach leg, I couldn’t even look at the food. Please dept of health check this place out before it makes people sick. I don’t usually write 1star reviews but I think the public needs to know for safety reasons.

We have lived in this area for almost twenty years searching for a good Chinese takeout place! Finally we have found a place equal or better than what we are use to in NNJ and NYC. Wing Hing is delicious prompt in delivery and has excellent customer service. If you are looking for great pickup Asian in the area Shanghai Bun still number one but wing hing delivers so they are our new go to spot for takeout!

Ordered food for delivery via Uber Eats. It wasn't edible. Won't order from them again.

Order here regularly. Typical take out spot. Not the prettiest but the food is by far better than most places. Don't understand the hating and negative reviews from people, food is always very good and more of an authentic flavor than most other "American Chinese" style restaurants. Best dishes here are the Broccoli Dishes, General Tsos, Singapore Mei Fun, Lo Meins and the BEST Hot and Sour Soup! Quick Delivery.

Not sure why all the hate. I just had lunch and am still at a table. The food was good. The ambiance is that of a takeout fast food Chinese restaurant. It shows it's age but not deserving of the negative comments. I eat at a fair amount of these types of restaurants and this is good. I would come back again if I lived in the area. Stop trashing the place because you didn't get your rice or a fly was hitting the window. And as far as the kid playing video games, have you paid for childcare? That kid grows up understanding hard work and how to make $$.

Great food and service, plus the girl behind the counter is a cutie patootie. Would very much recommend worth the money and price.

Ordered 2 Egg Rolls got 1 Boneless spareribs look nothing at all like ribs just left over small pieces of pork overcooked. Egg Foo Yong was msh laying in broth I asked for oyster sauce got something flavorless, etc... WON"T GO BACK

Ordered a General Tsos Combo, it had no fried rice and no egg roll. I will never order from there again. Terrible

Ordered chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce. Dish was underwhelming, but food was fresh, reasonably priced and staff was friendly.

The sesame chicken came out completely dry my sauce on it at all... also never gave white rice when asked for in the order.

Don't understand all the negative reviews, I guess that's due to reporting bias, but Wing Hing is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area! I highly recommend!

Find it funny how they have such a bad review, they always answer the phone, food is always quick, and we have never once had an issue or sub-par food in probably 20 visits. It's not going to blow your mind but it's solid Chinese.

My husband is a NYC Chinese food snob but Wing Hing won him over! It's one of two places in NJ that he'll order from. I've been there for pick up since the COVID outbreak and they had barriers, guidelines for distancing, and safety practices in place.

Wing Hing is our usual go to Chinese take out restaurant. The food is always great, and served relatively quickly. We absolutely love their dumplings, wonton soup, and boneless spare ribs. The atmosphere is just like any other Chinese take out that I've ever been to. And I've been to many! So all of the negative comments about cleanliness are irrelevant. If you are looking for a nice, sit down restaurant, this is not the place for you. If you want great food, reasonably priced, while being served very quickly, Wong Hing is it!

Just finished eating take-out from Wing Hing. How completely disappointing. I ordered Roast Pork w/String Beans and it was absolutely disgusting. It was greasy, tasteless, and the string beans were over cooked and shriveled. My stomach is bloated and I'm nauseated. Needless to say - never order food from this establishment.

We've been in this area 2 years and never tried. Usually not attracted to a storefront takeout . I must say the food was very good. Typically American Chinese but fresh and nicely prepared. Prices are very reasonable.

I was really surprised by this place. I was concerned about the reviews but my kids wanted Chinese and we were right there. Its COVID times and they had everything you would want to see going into a restaurant. Protective shields, everyone wearing a mask, cleaning supplies. I felt safe getting food from there and it all looked clean. They mixed the egg drop and wonton for use, sesame chicken was on point, and my kids loved the low main. It's not a 5 star restaurant but it is a 5 star Chinese takeout place with great food.

Ordered food today and had a sharp bone in my daughters sesame chicken. Called the owner and was told "chicken has bones" yes I know they have bones but I ordered sesame chicken because it is supposed to be boneless. My daughter could have choked on the food and the person on the phone had no remorse. Will never order from them again! Would give them no stars if I could!

The windows in the restaurant are just filthy...after seeing the dirty windows, what else can one say about the quality of food....

Delivery takes a century, food isnt anything special. Very bland and watered down chinese food. Brown rice was especially disappointing. Was hoping for so much more.

Great to support this local establishment, which is one the only Chinese restaurants still open locally. My family has now ordered twice and we have been entirely satisfied.

My wife and I love Wing Hing. We usually get the same dishes (General Tso chicken, veg fried rice, shrimp lo mein, mixed vegetables with garlic sauce, egg rolls) and they're always perfect. We've also had the pu pu platter a few times when eating with others in the family, and we loved that too. My mom lives in Matawan and she's the one who turned us onto Wing Hing. But even if we're not having Chinese with her, we've travelled from our place, 25 mins each way, in order to to pick up our food and eat at home. That's how much we like their food. Always tastes fresh, as well as delicious.

If I could give it no stars I would. I ordered 4 lunch specials and dumplings to have an early dinner with my family. The dumplings were overcooked and tasted bad. I ordered chicken and broccoli with fried rice. The chicken was slimy and I found a huge piece of metal in the rice. It looks like a rusty paper clip. I'm sick to my stomach and threw out all of our food. It's grilled cheese for dinner.

I do not know how the place is paying the rent. The food is awful, the place is dirty and the menu is way way over priced for the food. The windows are filthy and you can see the raw chicken sitting on the counter in the back by the sink... Go somewhere else.....

Matawan Health Department wrote back saying I was right, and ordered them to clean up, giving them an unsatisfactory yellow health certificate.

We love Wing Hing! The food is tasty, the delivery is super fast. If you get home late from work and want a hot, filling meal delivered quickly at a reasonable price, they are a great choice.

I usually order the same thing every time. The last three times, they have charged me something different. My normal order is strictly soup, mostly because the entrees have zero flavor. Major thumbs down

I don't understand all the negative reviews. Yes, the place is not the cleanest, but what Chinese takeout restaurant is? The prices are more than reasonable and the portions are tremendous. The food is never greasy nor is it too salty, a rarity for a Chinese restaurant.

Horriable place .. Should not be open .. Food was hardly cooked and the place is dirty and gross .. They were actually cleaning the floor w strong cleaner n cooking at same time .. Food was the worst i ever tasted

Hot and sour soup could be a meal! So delicious. Some of the best Chinese food we have had delivered in years. Food is fresh, portions are good. Stay away from the fried extras like scallops and boneless spare ribs. Stick with the classics and you won't be disappointed.

Make sure you visit this store-front before ordering from here. It doesn't seem so clean and the food is not great at all. There are much better Chinese food restaurants within a mile radius of this disgusting place.

Not great Chinese. I ordered from here once and the rice was really hard. Either it wasn't cooked properly or it was old. Either way that's not a good sign.

I thought the food was mediocre. It tasted like they put too much sugar in it. Hot and sour soup wasn't even spicy. Also, it tasted like the quality of the ingredients wasn't very good. After eating about half my meal, I ended up throwing the rest out..

Might want to consider closing or investing money to become a real food service establishment. Improve the food quality and your sanitation practices and people will come.

I just tried the food in this establishment. I should have known better, the place was empty, the facilities were dirty. You can tell they are not doing well because they are cutting corners. Did not get soy sauce packets that would have helped the bland food. The worst chinese food ever. The place was cold, they have dangerous illegal heaters hanging from drop ceiling over the tables. Will never return. Place should be closed down. Freaking disgusting.
