Ice Cream & Sandwich Window Review - Central District - Seattle - The Infatuation

"No, it’s not a typo. This Central District takeout window from the team behind nearby Temple Pastries serves both ice cream and sandwiches—not ice cream sandwiches. But the combination of velvety soft serve and egg-stuffed bread works for a morning meal and afternoon snack, respectively, worth going out of your way for. In the case of the ice cream, flavors like tangy pandan and tart mango almost get overshadowed by the toppings. (Almost.) Crunchy mini croissants make a great spoon alternative, and a coconut almond crunch that tastes like granola took a trip to Oahu and won’t shut up about it. But the breakfast sandwiches are the best thing here. For the fancy folk, there’s a fluffy milk bun with french ham, fried eggs, paprika aioli, and pops of acid from chopped pickled asparagus. And for the hungover, a springy english muffin sausage-egg-and-cheese slathered with smoky hickory mayo. The next time your friends want a box of pastries from Temple around the corner, leave them and grab one of these beasts." - Aimee Rizzo

Google
A charming shop, good vibes and unique flavors. I am glad I got the sample flight with my one time visit to full appreciate the diverse takes on ice cream. Even when the flavors I wanted before the visit were out. There were others that had me curious. You can tell the owners care for the craft. Thank you for the charming visit. Good work on the flavors and names.

Google
Perfect way to end a dinner in Chinatown, Wing's has both traditional and highly original flavors in their cute hole in the wall shop. The Mexican Chocolate was both sweet with a little cinnamon spice. Will definitely return.

Oh man, what a gem. If you are a biiig ice cream nerd (like me) or just love unique flavored things, this place is for you. Regret going on our last day of the trip—but I will most certainly be back for the Hurricane Popcorn flavor and just about everything they put out. I adore their bold, daring spirit and creativity! Sidenote: I just read about the power outages affecting a lot of Chinatown businesses... Please please go support if you can and keep them alive so I can return for more crazy yumminess 😭 Wing Ice Cream, you are truly inspiring and a trip highlight to me!!

Google
Both flavors were amazing! I had the mango (dairy) and chocolate (non-dairy) on a waffle cone. The chocolate was was something like Mexican or Mayan chocolate (I forget the name). It was slightly spicy and had a hint of cinnamon. The mango was perfectly creamy and smooth. The waffle cone was fresh, crunchy and not too sweet. What a treat!

I came here with some friends after dinner and was very excited because they have coconut based ice cream. It’s tough to find dairy free ice cream in Honolulu. When we arrived we took a peek inside the ice cream case and found 3 available flavors. Two of the flavors were obscure and I had no idea what they might taste like. I believe one was called “pandan leaf”. One of my friends asked to try a taste of one of the flavors to which the told us that they do not offer any samples. They also said that we were welcome to purchase a tasting flight so we could see what all of the flavors taste like. It would be great to be able to try the flavor before committing, especially if it is a non traditional flavor, so you know what to expect. I think that’s part of the fun when going out for ice cream, tasting things you would have never considered and finding a new favorite! It would go along way in terms of customer service and customer satisfaction and I think people would want to purchase more knowing they will like what they ordered. Thankfully the flavor I chose tasted nice, even though I had no frame of reference of what it might be like.

I recently stumbled upon Wing Ice Cream in Chinatown while wandering around the fascinating streets of Oahu. This tiny ice cream shop is an absolute gem! Wing Ice Cream’s decor is chic and minimalist, with bright neon lights adding a funky touch. The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it the perfect spot to stop and refuel after a bustling day in Chinatown. Their ice cream selection is out of this world! Their unique flavors showcase exciting and adventurous ingredients, from matcha green tea to Thai iced tea, black sesame, and banana caramel. I could barely decide which flavor to get! Each scoop of ice cream is creamy, dreamy, and packed with flavor. They even offer a dairy-free option for those who are vegan or lactose intolerant. The service at Wing Ice Cream is fantastic, the ownerhimself scooped the ice cream! You can tell he's passionate about what they do! If you find yourself in Chinatown, do not miss out on Wing Ice Cream. It truly is the coolest ice cream shop in the area, maybe the island! Their creative ice cream is a work of art, and their interior design is on point. I would definitely recommend this hip spot to anyone looking for an exciting and delicious ice cream experience!

Google
Get the flight so you can try three flavors and save yourself some stress trying to choose! Interesting and delicious flavors, really good plant-based options. All the ice creams and sorbets are made in-house, from scratch. If you find a favorite flavor, get a pint to take home because once it’s gone, it might be gone forever!

Google
If you are used to European flavor just skip it! Cute place and welcoming server but if you know gelato as I know it, coming from Italy, this is a very much watered down version.

Yelp
So first off this shop is very cute and everything I want from a neighborhood ice cream shop. Secondly, to see the little girl praising and calling out to her dad behind the counter was helplessly adorable and, again, everything I want from a neighborhood ice cream shop. Friendly, fun, and sweet. Those are the vibes! My husband and I each got different flavors and liked them both, including his, which was dairy-free (coconut-vanilla). I wouldn't mind coming back and trying the other flavors, for sure!

Yelp
Homemade ice cream with unique flavors -- if you're in the mood for a sweet treat in Chinatown, this is the spot for you. It's Chinatown, so yes parking is going to be a bit of a challenge. If you don't have luck finding a metered street parking, keep an eye out for municipal lots. Half of the selection of ice cream here is dairy-free made with a coconut base-- and that's what I'm all about. No samples here-- so you really just gotta pick a flavor and hope for the best. I went with a double flavor single scoop- which was honestly the perfect amount of ice cream for me. The blue hawaii and black sesame is what called to me. Blue Hawaii was a coconut and vanilla flavor that reminded me of haupia and the black sesame had this nutty flavor that reminded me of peanut butter. It's a cute spot, a bit on the small size so you might have to enjoy your ice cream outside. I can't wait to try out the other unique flavors they put out!

Yelp
My friend first introduced me to this cozy artisan ice cream shop that serves homemade ice cream (dairy and non-dairy) that are uniquely flavored and named, plus shave ice. Today, I picked a keiki-sized yummy, creamy flavor called "Brie Pre-Peared" with a lovely Brie flavor paired with carmelized pears - get it? Such a cute name! Love it! You must check this place out! You can taste how much care goes into each scoop!

Yelp
Wing ice cream is true to taste. Their ice cream is homemade. Creamy and tasty. Their menu changes some of their ice cream flavors often. The names for the ice creams are cute. Because the store is small, customers can be seen waiting outside. The atmosphere is nice inside. They sell lactose tablets too. Sadly, there are no tables inside or outside to sit down and fully enjoy the treats.

Yelp
Got the matcha Oreo and Black sesame split scoop. They had house made waffle cones which is an extra $1.25. The flavors were unique and fun to try, although they unfortunately don't do samples. Next time I come, I want to try the sampler because there were flavors I wanted to try but couldn't this time. I would return again to try other flavors!

Yelp
Love this place, talk about unique flavors. Mind blowing for sure. Small inside but makes it fun for easy in and quick out. Look around for the cool decor and fun art and postcards for sale

Yelp
I love black sesame ice cream, milkshakes, cake, almost anything with that flavor. I finally scored some from Wing Shave ice & Ice Cream and it was so delicious. Service is always great there and I dig the music and the drum set and posters. The black sesame was so good that I never got a photo. My partner got the Cookie Monster and it was also top notch. I had the rose the week before and it was the essence of a rose and so creamy.

Yelp
Not only does Wing's Shave Ice & Ice Cream have some of the best ice cream I've ever tasted on the island, but it also has some of the most creative flavors I've come across--ever! Their menu is a constantly changing masterpiece, full of delicious and unexpected flavors. The Ice Cream Flight ($8.50) As someone who wants to try it all, the ice cream flight was a dream come true! Three generous scoops of ice cream, and each one brought something completely different to the table. Here's what I tried: Yuzu Apple Sorbet: The Yuzu was bold, but pleasantly delicate and refreshing! I didn't pick up a lot of apple, but honestly, no complaints--it's like a pure yuzu delight! Chocolate Avocado: ORich chocolate with a creamy avocado twist! The avocado makes it extra smooth, and there's this subtle, but pleasant avocado aftertaste. Salted Caramel: I'm not usually a caramel gal, but Wing's salted caramel is the exception! It has that perfect burnt-sugar depth without being overly sweet. Can't wait to see what flavors they'll have next!

Yelp
Wing Ice Cream in chinatown is an OG ice cream parlor with an ever rotating selection of classic and unique ice cream flavors. You can get a keiki, single, double or triple scoops or a flight of different flavors if you're super indecisive, and since they don't do samples, you're gonna have to trust your gut with the flavors that are calling out to you We got the blueberry lavender and "14-up" which was a combination of lemon lime, kafir lime and lemongrass, which were both SO strong, velvety, smooth and rich. the kinako and black sesame flavors that we got were dairy-free which i loved because you wouldn't be able to tell, based on how creamy it was. They even have dairy pills if you're lactose intolerant but still wanna enjoy the dairy ice creams! The service by Kyro was fantastic and since the flavors are always rotating, you can always try something new and different!

Yelp
best part about this place is that its open pretty late! went to grab ice cream after dinner because we didnt like the dessert selections where we were. and my bestie said the waffle cones were amazing soo many selections, and amazed to find non-dairy options too. and not just 1 or 2, there were quite a lot! i got the mint cookie, which is my standard go-to selection, especially because then i can compare apples to apples. got the single in the waffle cone, which is not actually just one scoop, its just 1 flavor. so it was A LOT of ice cream. super tasty, minty, oreo cookie bits, not choco chips like normal. waffle cone was pretty good too upside about this place is that if youre lactose intolerant they actually sell off-brand lactaid for 25cents!

Yelp
The shop has been open for about 11 years, but this is the first time I have gone into it. They make their ice cream inside in their small kitchen. There are multiple non-dary options for those of us less fortunate people. The flavor I had was papaya (nondairy) it had floral notes that were a bit stronger than I would have liked, but it was a well made ice cream and not so strong as to be off-putting. The papaya was better than I thought it would be as a dessert. I was quite surprised! Inside is very small. So if it isn't busy, it is quite cosy. A bunch of people came in while my friend and I were finishing up, so I finished mine and left so the rest of their group could enter. The person there was very nice and engaged in conversation when another customer wanted to talk about other things. I admit, I listened, and that is how I heard that they were around for 11 years.

Yelp
It's hard to find anything open downtown that isn't a bar, pub, or lounge. I scoured Yelp and Google maps for anything else that would be open and found this spot. After a short walk, I almost missed the entrance. This is a very small shop that has a comfortable feeling inside. There are a few seats and 1 couch like furniture for enjoying your desserts. There are several choices of monthly changing flavors and shaved ice syrups. I ended up getting a 1 scoop cup. Very Berry: 8/10. I love Acai. More often than not, I end up going for Acai. This Acai was interesting as it had hints of coconut as well as the strawberry and acai flavors. I think they used coconut milk to make it nondairy. It was an unexpected flavor pairing that had me slightly confused at first, but it grew on me as I ate. Also, the scoop may seem small, but the whole cup was full and had the rest of the scoop outside. It was a pretty generous serving. The owner mentioned that he has been open for over 11 years now! Buy local and support hawaii businesses.

Yelp
Four and a half stars. Loved the different flavors offered. I finally came here because of a friend who suggested it. I got myself a half and half keiki ice cream cup. However I heard he makes his own waffle cones so I got one to go. Definitely get a waffle cone if you get your ice cream. You cannot go wrong. The flavors are bizarre but in a good way. They blend. I had a taste of black garlic for instance and it was delicious. Of course you don't get the pungent garlic flavor but it comes through perfectly and with the richness of the ice cream it just works. I also tried a Thai basil sorbet that had the flavor of basil but it wasn't overpowering. There were other flavors that I tried but of course I don't have pictures of the actual ice cream because I was too excited to eat it. lol.

Yelp
Located on Pauahi Street in Chinatown this little gem of small batch ice cream is a must stop. Flavors very weak to week and are usually made with local ingredients. Try them all!

Yelp
My kids love this place. I love this place, we want to go back again. Walked by the shop going to dinner and saw that it was open for business so we had to save room for some ice cream. Vaniller is creamy, OG and hit the spot. Guinness Stout w chocolate was delicious, But the one that really was great was the pandan flavor ice cream! Shop owner is personable, friendly, laxed and easy to talk to. Says that he plans to open up in the evenings for those looking for something sweet after dinner. Ambiance is a mix of curiosities, oddities, punny items and eclectic, my kids already asked to go back and visit uncle. Thank you! Van and gang

Yelp
On huge hype from a trusted friend, we eagerly came looking for this place which supposedly has "the best ice cream on the island." Saw that they were open from noon to 6pm today and since we were nearby in Kakaako, we decided to give it a try. Got there at 2pm, only a couple of hours after they opened...ginormous disappointment...almost nothing left. So as much as I would like to leave a good review, I would have nothing to base it on. It says they've been in business since 2013, you'd think a seasoned establishment would have enough product for the day...or enough for at least the first couple of hours of business. IF I decide to try this eatery again, and honestly it's a BIG if, I will be sure to update my review.

Jackie K.

Yelp
They have a wood-infused ice cream that was completely inedible. I have never spit out and thrown out ice cream before but I had to with this. My husband and I had an immediate visceral reaction to it - like a chemical burnt rubber poison flavor. Had to toss out the whole thing.

Yelp
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! I've had my first taste of Wings Shave Ice & Ice Cream about 3-4 years ago at a friend's wedding and it was yummerzzz!!! After dinner with friends and coworkers tonight, we walked the night in Chinatown and headed to Wings Shave Ice & Ice Cream. Website said they were closed but I'm happy that it was still open. I got a scoop of chili mangoes sorbet with a scoop of creamy regular mangoes ice cream! And let me tell you, it's the perfect way to end the night! Homemade ice cream is the best of the best! I have to come back soon for some more chili mangoes sorbet and ice cream!!! 2 scoops was not enough! If you haven't had Wings Shave Ice & Ice Cream then you better get out and make a stop there! You won't regret it. Miller works by himself but he moved quickly and with a smile! The place is sooo cute with drawings in the background and the pink couch, which I forgot to take a photo of! You'll find Wings Shave Ice & Ice Cream at 1145 Maunakea Street Ste 4 Honolulu HI [entrance on N Pauahi Street].

Yelp
Great little neighborhood ice cream shop that I had no idea was there, and I've lived near Chinatown my whole life! They often have interesting flavors like calamansi cardamom or Christmas flavors in July. One of my favorites was apricot ice cream and secretly hoping they will bring it back. There's also dairy free flavors that have a coconut milk base which are yummy too. Service is fairly quick and the owner usually works at night as well. This place is quite small so getting a seat to enjoy your ice cream might be a hit or miss sometimes.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice little family owned ice cream shop in Chinatown. We had the 4 scoop sampler and we felt that was the way to go if it's your first time there. Limited counter seating and a small sofa area which seats about another 3 or 4 people. Be sure to check the address as you may walk right by the shop as we did. Super friendly service and a nice spot to catch a dessert after trying some of the amazing restaurants in Chinatown.
google avatar

Sherrie K.

Yelp
Miller....nice proprietor. Happy to be making ice cream and happy where he's doing it-in Chinatown! Have passed the shop a few times and it was closed....but tonight it was open, and we found that the shop opens on some nights till 9 pm! So stop in after your dinner in Chinatown for a sweet, palate cleansing treat. I like that in addition to ice cream made with dairy milk, he also has coconut milk options. We really liked the peanut butter, chocolate and banana flavor. I'd like to try all of the coconut milk options! Parking on the street or underground in the municipal lot. Enjoy!
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
Went here 3 times in one week. It's good--the rotating flavors are always spot on. They don't give samples, so you have to trust that you will like it. So far, everything that sounded and looked good was on point. Definitely some interesting propaganda art inside, but nonetheless, everything tasted amazing.
google avatar

Marlene Y.

Yelp
Oh my ... Wing ice cream still rocks with great unusual flavors like kinako, li hing mango, plantain with kumquat candy and lemon lavender. Try something totally new like plantain with kumquat candy bits. It was like a caramel smoothie in ice cream format. The li hing mango and kinako were spot on good. The owners always come out with new flavors and weekend evenings see a steady stream of customers. Husband, wife and young boy (owner in the wings[ha!]) run the shop with great enthusiasm. There is a board to suggest new flavors of ice cream as well. It's a bit full at present. Add a post it note! Nondairy options are also plentiful! Stop by after dinner downtown.
google avatar

M.K. C.

Yelp
Fun fact: some ice cream shops use a ready-made base mix and just add flavors to it. Not here! It can take a couple of days for a batch of ice cream at Wing, made right there in a tiny kitchen. Infusing flavors into cream, making mix-ins, churning - it all takes time. Try having some patience and grace if the shop is running low on some items or is unexpectedly closed. This is literally a "mom and pop shop" making things from scratch with local, seasonal ingredients.
google avatar

Patrick H.

Yelp
Yum! Great flavor selections of high quality ice cream. We got a double scoop...hubby did Pumpkin Spice (non-dairy) and Hawaiian Vanilla bean. I got Apple Pie a la mode, and Black n Tan (stout beer and caramel). Great service. Love the counter-culture vibe of the interior with a feeling that would be right at home in Portland. Quick Tip: there is paid lot parking around the corner.
google avatar

Kai L.

Yelp
First off congratulations on the third baby, wild to be a mom and grandmother in the same year. Great icecream, I will always support, hope you can make it to PA to see the grand baby's
google avatar

Cindy Z.

Yelp
What a unique ice cream shop in Chinatown. They have various flavors that you don't see everyday. But you also don't know what to expect, so it's unfortunate that they don't give samples. We got the 3 Scoop Sampler ($8.50) and chose the Pandan & Jasmine, Dankey Kang (banana & peanut butter), and Matcha & Oreo. The pandan was super refreshing but the matcha and Oreo was the absolute winner for me. It was a strong flavor from both combos, which worked very well together.
google avatar

Irene M.

Yelp
The uniqueness is definitely special here!! Wing Ice Cream is like a hidden gem as the address is Maunakea but the storefront and entrance is on Pauahi Street and giving them a visit it the late afternoon hours was a great benefit with ample parking to choose from made it an easy stop for something cool. Walking in the vibe here is unique and it doesn't stop there are you gaze over their chalkboard menu as I decide on either a homemade waffle cone or maybe a Wing Fligh which is three lucious scoops! Known for their exotic flavors they really didn't disappoint as the dairy selections were... - Chocolate - Chookeis n' Cream - Kona Coffee - Chrysanthemum Non dairy selections... - Blue Hawaii - Tom Kha (Thai soup) - Coconut Lime - Sup Palala - Black Sesame Now isn't that an impressive selection for homemade Ice Cream!!! I guess I really didn't feel that adventures as it was the homemade waffle cone with a single scoop of Kona Coffee lol! That single scoop was a heavy handed scoop and what a smooth treat as it wasn't sweet at all and the gentle flavor of the Kona Coffee was just perfect. I can see why many flock over to this place for a treat as they also have Shave Ice which can you just imagine adding ice cream wow!!!! The gentleman there was a humble quite fellow but was very nice as I started the conversation with him asking how he's doing and to the response better as his a/c had been broken up until just minutes ago so it's not me that got the cool treat and thank heavens for that! Thank you!
google avatar

Heidi N.

Yelp
I don't get out to downtown very often and Wing's doesn't always have vegan options. So when I am near the area and they have vegan choices, I'm getting them. Lol Their scoops are generous and the flavors are amazing. I snagged the last of the black sesame at the last visit. One of my favorite flavors. I love freshly made ice cream.
google avatar

Yelp
You scream, I scream, Wing Shave Ice & Ice Cream! Ahhh, who doesn't love a good cup of homemade ice cream? If you need a fix for a hankering of something sweet and delicious, then come to Wing Shave Ice & Ice Cream. Located on the corner of Maunakea and Pauahi, this little whole in the wall is a gem. They have very little seating for this joint, so if they're busy, you'll feel better eating on the go. Parking in this area is either street parking, municipal parking, or the small pay to park lot near by. As mentioned, this little whole in the wall is tiny and so are the selections, but whatever they have is onolicious. Can't really remember the flavors I had, but they didn't disappoint, and to me, as long as you don't screw up ice cream, I'll be back. Like many ice cream parlors, their flavors change from time to time, and they do have non-dairy options for those that have this need. I've never had their shaved ice, and just the ice cream, but I'm sure, on a bright sunny day, the shaved ice is still a winner. They also have waffle cones, and regular cones to eat from, but I like mines from the cup. Just let me taste all that was put into this flavor without any hinder from a semi-sweet cone. ;) So, if you just had dinner in town and need a sweet, or just need ice cream, then come to Wings for some of their flavors and leave with a smile. Till my next stop, Grind On! Pau!
google avatar

Hiram M.

Yelp
Great hole in the wall ice cream spot with a vintage skater aura. They have non dairy coconut milk flavors as well. I suggest you try the blue Hawaii coconut and vanilla. If you're feeling frisky there's even a box of lactaid on the counter $0.25 a pill. They also have shave ice and the flavors are natural. There can be a wait but it's so worth it.
google avatar

Bethanie C.

Yelp
Delicious! I've been wanting to try wings for so long but am always in Chinatown too late or not enough. They had some live music going on the night we stopped by. I had the coconut Kona coffee, black sesame, and smoked bourbon flavors. My favorite was definitely the black sesame, which took me by surprise. Only complaint is I wish the scoops were bigger! The location is definitely a whole in the wall and easy to miss if the sign wasn't lit up. It's street parking nearby or lots a couple blocks over.

Yelp
Great service! Miller is an awesome guy and he took very well care of us! Thank you! The ice cream was delicious

Yelp
We were out at the beach watching the sunset and decided to get ice cream on the way home. I discovered this restaurant on Yelp with good reviews so we decided to try it. It took me a minute to find a parking spot as it's located in Chinatown with limited parking option unless you pay for a lot. It also took us a minute to locate the business as we walked the street, discovered a sign with the address, although it was for another business. A little farther down the sidewalk and around the corner, we discovered the ice cream shop. It looked sketchy from the outside as I was looking for a line of people waiting to get ice cream, only to peek in the window and find not a soul visible. I even asked my wife if she still wanted to get ice cream here and she said yes. Upon entering, the staff came out from the back to greet us. I saw maybe 8 types of ice cream which Yelp reviews indicated is homemade. I wasn't impressed with the Chocolate Haupia flavor in a homemade waffle cone that I had. It was rather bland in my opinion, and the waffle cone was on the hard unflavored side. Now that I look at the pics I took, I see it was non-dairy ice cream and they used coconut milk instead. It would seem they offer dairy and non-dairy options and I'm probably used to the dairy version. Something to consider during your visit. My wife is a shave ice snob and looks for the best (powder consistency) everywhere we go. She had the shave ice and said it's #2 on island which is quite the compliment but said she would likely not return just to get the shave ice. I didn't get a good answer why but assumed it was the challenge of access and shadiness of Chinatown. It's an interesting business but we would likely seek alternate options before returning.

Yelp
Went there to have a quick treat after dinner around the corner! They have many unique favors Ice cream. I ordered the tea and cookies which was very good. They have blue hawaii which is coconut and vanilla. I love their creative name for the ice cream. There are also rose and sesame favor but they sold out when I was there. Small store located in Chinatown. They have cute decoration. Parking is a challenge and expensive if you park in the lot.

Yelp
Love the music and the ambiance. And the owners are very nice. Try the Turtle Dog! It has peanut butter, chocolate strips, pecans and caramel. It's my new favorite!

Yelp
Stopped by after dinner for some unique flavors and we all left happy! This hole in the wall gem will def be one of my fave ice cream shops. I swear each time stop by there's a bunch of new flavor combos. The quality and service was terrific. Will keep coming back for more!

Yelp
What's the most dangerous thing you've done for delicious ice cream? I have an answer to this question after trying Wing yesterday. Located in the thick of activity on Pauahi and Maunakea, Wing may be found a few doors down from leis, bubble tea, and unholy sights. You will need quite the reward to justify risking your new white shoes to find this place. After hearing about Wing and it's no samples policy, I was curious to try their ice cream. Interestingly, the stories were all the same; "delicious ice cream, no samples, located in a sketchy place." I have to agree. There are "samples". You just order the entire scoop and try it. So, there's that option. Flavors tried: black sesame (smooth like jazz), Waianae Gold (crunchy like the former Senate President's Bob cuts), chocolate haupia (predictably delicious), and blue hawaii (vanilla + coconut; as safe as wearing an aloha shirt to a wedding). Verdict: delicious, memorable, and probably better to get a pint than deal with the trek and parking.

Yelp
My siblings-in-law took me here on a hot and sunny day. Such a perfect day for ice cream! It was my first time here and we got there around 3pm and they weren't busy. The place is tiny, and you have to close the door behind you. They have some unusual flavours such as Roasted Garlic and Calamansi Cardamom, which I'm not brave enough to try. My sister-in-law and I both got Tea and Cookies -- basically matcha and oreos. I loved this! Not overly sweet and lots of oreo pieces! My brother-in-law got the Rose Petal one. I tried some of his, but I'm not a fan. I'm not into flowery flavours and I found the rose flavour a little strong. I'll definitely return for the Tea and Cookies! And maybe one day, I'll find the courage to try something different!

Yelp
This place is a hidden treasure in Chinatown. Ice Cream is fresh and delicious. How did we miss this all these years...

Yelp
Nice to see something original in town. Homemade ice cream flavors are very unique so I don't mind spending a little more for some flavors I won't find anywhere else. The pineapple Thai basil is something special and worth trying ; my gf was won over her first time trying Wing with this flavor. Wing is actually an artisan shop and is one of the good reasons to stop through Chinatown.

Yelp
$7 plus tax plus tip for a small 1 kid sized scoop on a basic wafer style cone. $1 extra for a waffle cone. Higher prices for bigger sizes. No samples so you must "commit to your choice". Points for being a small business and for offering unique flavors. I tried the brie and pear and it was ok but I wish I had a sample before getting that as my pick. I ate about half a kid cone and was done with it. The store is dark, cluttered and definitely not worthy of the 'gram. I did not take photos. I did not even finish my little scoop. I do not want to go back. Shrugs.

Yelp
after a long day from the Westside to Southside outing, Destin craved for Ice Cream, Yelp it found this gem of Ice Creamery in Downtown Honolulu, who would've thought Wing Ice Cream has been in business for 9 years, if you want to see what others' comments go ahead and Yelp it.... we loved it and plan to go back for more.... however owner said business has been slow since pandemic and hard to keep up with costs, from the natural fruits he uses and the cost of rent. Let's help this small business stay afloat.... go take a ride and get some really good homemade ice cream with awesome choices of flavors @wingicecream will be closed on June 13-20th but will be open thereafter

Yelp
Honestly 10/10 ive been coming here since 19' and have never been disappointed in quality, service, and atmosphere. The quality of the shave ice is phenomenal, it was so fluffy and light it melted in my mouth like cotton candy but it stayed pretty solid while i ate it unlike most shave ice that melts so quickly i get a brain freeze trying to eat faster. They also have crazy flavors that you cant find anywhere else! I got a chocolate mayan ice cream, completely vegan and has a nice kick of cayenne to it! oh and also they have both dairy and vegan options!!! love this place!!

Yelp
After dining at Okims, my friend and I walked about two blocks to Wing. The left side of the case contained dairy selections, the right side, non-dairy. My friend and I both selected from the non-dairy. The coconut milk, non dairy base, overpowered the Matcha- Kinako flavor of my scoop-- tasting primarily of coconut. I'm a fan of coconut so I enjoyed it. The waffle cone --yum! I'd definitely go with the waffle cone. Hold the napkin on the bottom as the ice cream starts dripping if you're a slow eater. Or if you don't want to deal with dripping do the regular cone--flat at the bottom and fully enclosed. Or the cup. My friend had the Blue Hawaii and Black Sesame. She said she really liked the Black Sesame flavor. The friendly owner and ice cream maker served us our scoops. If you're lactose intolerant, you can purchase a digestive supplement for 25¢. There is a four stool counter to dine in. Jazz music plays in the background.

Yelp
After years of constantly forgetting to come here or it being closed when I finally remembered I got to come here on a whim! I had to wait for my leis and I was walking around and ran into this shop like it was fate. I was ECSTATIC when I saw the open sign on. I was immediately helped and I was very happy with the nondairy options provided. I ultimately decided on the green tea and cookies and the biscoffee. Wow. Just wow. Each had very distinct flavors and were delicious with every bite. It didn't taste like other vegan ice creams I've had. Sometimes they're too icy or you can taste it's an alternative. I literally wouldn't have known it wasn't regular ice cream lol. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
Delicious flavors. That's why we went because a lot of my colleagues frequently visit this place. I thought I'd try it for the first time with my partner. We really wanted ice cream because the last time our favorite ice cream place was out of good flavors. I'm giving this place a 2 because the guy serving us ice cream had his hands all over our waffle cone, meanwhile I'm staring at a full box of gloves where their t shirt merchandise is. It's common sense. Wear gloves!!! Also have you ever been to an ice cream parlor and was denied samples? I have never but today was our first. He said they don't do samples???? Okkkkk!!Would I go back? Not if he's there serving the ice cream. I will make a comment and walk right out. Who knows where his hands have been.

Yelp
I moved to another island before this shop opened. But I just saw Wings Shave Ice & Ice Cream on a local station, Island News. Mrs. Wing was explaining their business operation after a power outage had caused disruptions, while Mr. Wing was hand crafting his speciality ice cream in stainless steel pots. I had to watch it twice because after having lived on Oahu, visiting China Town frequently, I did not recognize this tiny, hole in the wall ice cream shop. That was because I have never seen any Oahu food service shop this Spotlessly CLEAN! Or was the 6 o'clock News AI?

Yelp
I honestly didn't know this place existed. It's been open for 9 years now. I know that because I asked the owner. At first, I was gonna complain about this establishment because I walked across town to try them out and when we got there, they were closed. The sign said that they open at 12 noon. I didn't bother to look at the open times I just figured they'd be open. So I went to the Feng Shui store down the street before returning a couple minutes before noon. We waited until 12:03pm and I was getting antsy. I could see the dude in the store walking around. It bothered me that he didn't seem pressed to let us in... but when he unlocked the door and let us in, he immediately went behind the counter. I told him that we're first timers and he seemed excited about that. I think. He's quite a mellow fellow. I asked him for his recommendation and he offered up his sampler called the "wing flight." That's when I asked him if he's the owner. And I guessed right. And lemme tell you... he's a skinny ice cream maker/owner and I think I know why. He's probably lactose intolerant. Half of his case of ice cream is no dairy. He even sells dairy relief caplets! I got the coffee & donuts, mon cherie and the strawberries with toffee and Oreo in his homemade waffle cone. He was thoughtful to ask me in which order I wanted my scoop flavors... and lemme tell you... the coffee & donut was so yummy. The first bite of Mon Cherie was flavor packed but the scoop was kinda small in my opinion and disappeared too quickly. However, I didn't expect too much from the strawberry but it was my favorite. I couldn't really taste the toffee Oreo though. Oh yeah, his waffle cone was good. Was kinda on the thick side and not as buttery as I would like, but it was substantial and not the kind of cone that gets soggy on you or leaks melting ice cream from the bottom. I hate when comes so that. One thing that really disappointed me was eating it outside with all the crazies and bums walking along Maunakea Street. Its just that it's hard to enjoy the ice cream in that environment because basically I wolfed down that triple scoop cone like I was late for a flight. So overall, was super 'ono and I'm going back for sure. Like the owner told me: I have 9 years of catching up to do!
