War Su Gai, aka Almond Boneless Chicken, Is a Michigan Favorite | Eater

"Founded in 1970 by the owner’s father, this Columbus spot seasons the gravy with star anise and, distinctively, tops the dish with peanuts rather than almonds; local variations around the city range from a darker, ginger-forward gravy to simpler fried-chicken-and-gravy preparations." - Missy Frederick

The food is inedible… general tsos chicken was the “chicken” that they use for what seems like sweet and sour chicken and it’s stringy and hard. The sauce was gross as well. The rice literally has a crunch to it. Literally couldn’t even finish the food I paid for. Take this as your warning

Google
Food and service good+. Food a little on the salty side. Traditional decor and lighting that you’d expect in an older traditional Chinese restaurant. Last two pics of the chicken lettuce wraps, good, but different than other restaurants (I prefer diced with water chestnuts and a darker sauce) - the one thing we ordered I would not get again.

Wing’s never disappoints. From their eclectic design to phenomenal food, would wouldn’t you continue coming back? Hands down. The best spring rolls in Columbus. So many food options with many vegetarian options. Plus at a really good price! Cheers!

Google
I had higher expectations for this restaurant. The chicken wings had no flavor whatsoever. The Sesame Chicken had a bed of Beansprouts underneath them, which was an interesting concept. The Sesame chicken was good though. And I enjoyed the Chicken fried rice. If I went back it would just be for the fried rice.

Google
This is the second time we got takeout in last few months. The first time we got shrimp pad Thai and Mongolian beef. The pad Thai noodles were so overcooked and stuck together and the beef had terrible flavor. This time we had chicken wings which were hard and dry with absolutely no flavor. The pot stickers were supposed to be pan fried but they were deep fried. I got fried rice with my shrimp egg foo young. The rice was hard and had no flavor whatsoever. The gravy was also flavorless. Extremely disappointing and will never go back. We wasted our money cause we couldn’t eat it. Don’t waste your time and money on this place. Worst takeout we’ve ever had from anywhere.

It’s no wonder that Wing’s has been open for as long as I can remember (my whole lifetime, and yet I’ve never been). When you walk in, it’s like an American Chinese version of Cheers “where everyone knows your name”, except with typical red and gold Chinese decor 😅 It was obvious that they have regulars who frequent here (and they know each other’s names and families too!) Menu is typical favorite Chinese dishes. The Wor Su Gai was the best I’ve had in a long time; However, the first batch I had to return to the kitchen and ask for another because the batter was crispy, but the chicken was dry and overcooked. They apologized and replaced it promptly with a piping hot dish of much more tender inside-crispy outside chicken. Unimpressed with the Mongolian beef, so I did not take a picture. Extensive alcohol menu, especially scotch and whiskey, but we didn’t get any drinks from the bar. All in all, long-standing cozy Chinese restaurant good for dinner on an unusually rainy, soggy day in Columbus.

Beef mushroom. Onion entree old dried up meat virtually no mushrooms in it watery gravy. Hot sour soup full of vinegar. Will Never go here again

I had sesame chicken, egg roll and crab Rangoon. All was so yummy! Friendly staff, brought us everything we wanted in a timely manor. Authentic Chinese food and the portions are very plentiful. I recommend Wings as your favorite Chinese restaurant.

Yelp
5/21/25. Spouse and I ordered spring rolls, shrimp fried rice & pepper steak. Pepper steak came out with rice, green peppers, onion and NO TOMATOES along with sauce being wattery. Waitress tried to tell me there was tomatoes underneath until I stirred to show her NO TOMATOEs. HOW YOU GOING TO HAVE A COOK IN KITCHEN WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT INGREDIENTS GO INTO A DISH???? She went back to kitchen & came out with;3/4 of a in a bowl with a little sauce. Totally unacceptable!! I would appreciate an email to receive a free meal to make this right!! Rest of food was great. I'm looking to hear from someone to make pepper steak order right. Thanks in advance.

Yelp
I hate writing negative reviews. I love good Asian restaurants. There are so many good choices in central Ohio for Chinese, Nepalese, Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, etc. This east-side institution is sadly not one of them. The food was nearly inedible. The regulars come in and belly up to the bar - even at noon. It is a sad, dark, bar-type Chinese. I am so sorry but it is just so. Someone needs to shake the owners awake.

Yelp
What a neat restaurant with good food and service. I have driven by this location for years and can't believe I have not stopped here before. My partner and I were in the mood for some Chinese and I saw the reviews on yelp and asked if he wanted to try someplace new out. He agreed and off we went. We were greated and promptly seated in a booth next to the bar. The autmosphere was really cool, not like a traditional restaurant but had that vibe mixed with late 80 or early 90's decor and a full bar area. Not a drinker any more but would have loved to just sit at that bar and had some drinks. Menu has lots of offerins and I started with the spring roll. It was good and so fresh. My only negagives i had with the entire meal was that the spring roll was really super greasy and the hot mustard that came with it was watered down. It was still good and ate ever bite so you know it wasn't that bad. For my dish I went with the Orange chicken with fried rice. Rice portion was not that large but no complaints on the dish. The breaded chicken and orange sauce was perfect and loved the pea pods, onions, and peppers. The breaded chicken and pea pods sold me on the dish. Service was great and the food was tasty. Definitely looking forward to adding Wing's Restaurant to our rotation and trying some more of their dishes.

Yelp
Every thing is delicious but a couple of my favorites are any Fried Rice as it's one of the few places left that actually cook with soy sauce to brown and flavor the base rice. Also highly recommend either Mongolian Beef or Chicken. Spicier than many others and great portions.

Danny B.

Yelp
I haven't had the food there but they are super friendly and have the best scotch selection in town.

Yelp
Food was good but the waitress was the rudest waitress I've ever encountered. Prices good but I wasn't planning on dicks last resort treatment.

Yelp
Work was supposed to have a speaker event @ 3 pm, then I was planning to mosey down to that evening's Yelp Elite event, but the speaker's plane got delayed, so his talk was cancelled. Figured I'd kill time, so I came down to Wings for an afternoon snack/leftovers for tomorrow. Interesting inside, reminds me of The Top due to hardly any light coming in. But, my my trusted Yelpers in general have given this spot good reviews, so I had to follow suit. Since it was around 3:30 PM, their was one older lady running the bar and one waitress manning the tables. I took a seat at the bar, and she was pleasant. Didn't rush me and chatted with customers when she brought out Their menu is got a little bit of a lot, even an "American Menu" with traditional diner-style sandwiches and sides. Read Mike G. and Mark K's reviews that Wing's homemade egg rolls are quite good, so I went with one. I got their "Minced Chicken" - aka Chicken Lettuce Wraps - to try since Mike highly recommends them in his review, too. Best. Egg. Roll. Incredibly fresh, easy to cut in half and drizzle with their homemade sauce, which, is lite and does NOT overpower the egg roll guts - HUGH plus. There's popcorn shrimp as well as pork, best of both worlds. Mike, Mark, Sandy, Hannah are all spot-on: this is a must try appetizer! High praise for the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, too! I think I got them not spicy, which was perfect, as the mix still had a faint hint of heat; it left some heat on the sides of my tough but didn't overpower the excellent flavor. Yep, I even ordered a second egg roll to go with my leftover minced chicken mix!! Price is very reasonable. $2 per egg roll and $9 for the chicken mix and green leafs. Ambiance isn't exactly over the top, but customer service and food are always most important on my list. I'm really glad I found Wings on Yelp a few months ago - I've seen the building for 22 years, but I always assumed it was a gentlemen's club, ha. I work half a mile away, so if anything, I'll definitely keep this place in my bookmarks for a lunch-time stop.

Yelp
Staff here is the best ever. Each visit they treat you like you are the only person eating there. The service is beyond exceptional and the food is delicious. Homey atmosphere and very well maintained establishment. Egg rolls and soups are delicious as well as the War Su Gai and any pork dish or egg foo young!! Shout out to Kenny for keeping this establishment alive!

Yelp
First time here. Ordered mild general tso's chicken it was overly salty and weird. The crab rangoons tasted like they were bad like old cream cheese was used. I ordered wontons and it was mainly noodle/dumpling with a SLIVER of a piece of pork. Even my husband's fortune was awful..... PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE!!!! We were highly disappointed. ‍ Next time I will drive to Eastern Wok on S High St Wayyyyyyy better and better portion!

Yelp
I understand that it's Christmas Eve, they're on about an hour wait (no big deal). My husband went in to ask if bar seats were included in the estimated wait time and the bartender said "I guess if seats open up you can have them" and was extremely rude for a simple inquiry. My husband said, no thanks and said we'd go somewhere else. The bartender proceeded to be rude by saying "maybe you should have made a reservation." That wasn't really a necessary comment and he continued to yell at him on his way out the door telling my husband he had an attitude problem. Honestly, we are two adults (who have spent YEARS in retail and service industries) without our kiddo on Christmas Eve trying to keep our minds off of that by enjoying a meal together. We were completely understanding of the wait, but had never been here and didn't know they took reservations. In hindsight, probably should have asked. However, we were completely understanding of it being a holiday, the wait (and were perfectly fine to wait, we just were fine with sitting at the bar if it was an option) and the bartender was a complete jerk. We will take our business elsewhere now, and in the future.

Yelp
Wing's is a great Chinese restaurant on Main Street in Bexley! The owner and his family regularly work in the restaurant, and you can see the pride they take in the establishment. My favorite food dish is the Mongolian chicken. It comes in a spicy brown gravy with a healthy portion of white rice. Simple and delicious. The business also has 2 fully stocked bars, and an incredible scotch / bourbon list. Don't be afraid to ask for anything on the menu, if the suds aren't upstairs, they're willing to go find it elsewhere in the building.

Yelp
I'm still in shock because this was TERRIBLE. Everything was terrible. When I walked in the place was empty and I should have followed my rule that if no one is there then leave! Well I didn't follow my rule so now I'm out of $43 but I have a review to write. I ordered spring rolls and they were so crispy that I couldn't even enjoy them. Also the filling was so small that when I took a bite all of the filling came out. Terrible!! I also ordered vegetable lo mein. What I received was more like ramen with vegetables in broth. My friend ordered mussels s and half of them were closed. She said that they were okay but def not worth ordering. Also the cutlery was dirty and lastly the waiter was very pushy I think because she was more interested in watching whatever was on tv. I don't understand how this place has good reviews because this was absolutely terrible. Stay away you have been warned

Yelp
Fantastic atmosphere, food selection and quality is over the moon, staff and customers remind me of the atmosphere of Cheers especially when you sit on the "bar side" !!

Old school American Chinese giving us all those #fridaynightvibes ! Taiwanese Scotch, Cold Beer, War Su Up (Duck Breast), Sautéed Bean Sprout and Spicy Beef Chow Fun ! #bexley #americanchinesefood #614eats #columbusliving #foodie

Yelp
The Mongolian Beef was average. The ribs good. The portions are too scarce. Too little food compared to the early days. Great scotch selection. More food, greater portions.

Yelp
So a friend of my husbands come every year for his birthday for the past 14 years. This was my first time. I had pepper steak, and a egg roll. My husband had the orange chicken and a egg roll. There was a appetizer( ravioli with this curry sauce) the sauce was Amazing dipped the bread in it after the ravioli was done. Yes , you heard me right Bread. They bring you a basket of bread and butter. Odd for a Chinese restaurant but I won't knock it can't go wrong with bread and butter. The bread was soft too. If you decide to order make sure you ask for extra sauce. There dinner menu was huge, had lots of options but the drink menu had tons more! Service was great.

Yelp
I offered to take a friend out to dinner after Mass on a Sunday. He picked Wings and I will admit I was hesitant. One time we had Wings catered to a church event and I barely ate any of it because I disliked it so much. But because it was his bday, I went with the flow! We went here around 6p on a summer Sunday with 3 other friends. They were telling me that Wings has been around Bexley for years, since they were kids. Oddly enough, my dad lived in Bexley for most of my childhood, so Wings was one of the only establishments I wasn't familiar with! You can tell when walking in that it's been around awhile. A little more "upscale" than other Asian restaurants, but also probably in need of some updates. I judge every Asian restaurant by their Sweet and Sour chicken, so I barely looked at the menu. However, it did look extensive with many options! Our server was Wa and she was great. Attentive and fast. The food came out in about 15-20 mins. I enjoyed my meal! I give them a 3 because it wasn't the best Sweet & Sour Chicken I've ever had (Ugh San Francisco Chinatown, how I long for you!) but it was better than others I've had in Columbus. I personally preferred it over Billy Lee's, which is also in Bexley. However, others in my party said they preferred Billy Lee's over this. Oh well! Bonus was that I had enough for lunch the next day and really enjoyed it! I would go back, but there are other restaurants in Bexley I'd prioritize over this one.

David N.

Yelp
Been going here for 40 years and never had a bad meal. I specifically like their wor sue gai as their sauce is so unique to any other place in Cbus. Enjoy!
google avatar

Lawrence U.

Yelp
Very friendly service and great food! My son who is a very picky eater really enjoyed his too! Good prices and large portions.

Amanda B.

Yelp
The ambiance is really cool. The bar has about ten seats and there is a large bourbon and scotch collection that Kenny, the owner, has accrued. The service is excellent. Woody bartends Mon-Fri after 4:00 and will take good care of you. They have mostly Chinese/Asian cuisine but they have some American items on the menu that are quite good. The food is Cantonese so it's a little different from most of the Asian restaurants in Columbus. Their chow mein is superb and I haven't found good chow mein since I moved from Chicago. And, on top of all that, the prices are very reasonable. This is a little gem in Bexley and I highly recommend the whole experience.

Yelp
I wanted to give it 2 but after ruining the already below average dried noodles, with the yellow paste of horseradish, they gave us. I wanted to give it a 2 but the crab Rangoons felt like I was biting into a hornet beehive. Burnt to a rocky external with little delicious interior. The hot and sour soup tasted like gel water, with mustard, pepper, salt and idk was inside, there was was no flavor It's a below average "chinese" restaurant in Ohio. Look somewhere else.
google avatar

Brian E.

Yelp
Great ambiance and service. The food was great! Perfect place for a chill date night or place to catch up with friends .
google avatar

Jim M.

Yelp
A rock solid three. Don't expect to be offered more water or another cocktail. Too bad. Killer scotch and bourbon list. Good prices. Food is good. Skip the ambiance and try some takeout. Trust me on this. I'd love to take a video to share but I don't have the opportunity. The only thing quick about the service, I was picking up the receipt. I am certain this place is probably a better local watering hole than a restaurant. High point: the bathrooms are very nice.
google avatar

Patrick M.

Yelp
This was the worst restaurant meal I've had in 30 years. The egg roll was good, but the hot mustard sauce was RIDICULOUSLY hot! It permeated my sinuses, and eye sockets INSTANTLY. I had to run to the bathroom to spit it out. As far as the meal went, I HAVE NEVER HAD GENERAL TSO'S CHICKEN, THAT TASTED LIKE THIS! It was like, a combination of orange sauce, and vinegar. I don't know how else to describe it. It was HORRIBLE! Chinese food is my favorite cuisine, but this without a doubt, is the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Maybe other items on the menu taste much better, but I won't be back to find out.

Yelp
Always a win with any of the lunch specials . I got the egg foo young needed a lil extra gravy but a win for sure
google avatar

Yelp
Oh man...was this bad. I mean...bad. Ordered through Door Dash. Everything was hot and delivered well. But the food...awful. The egg rolls tasted like old fryer grease and the cabbage inside was weird tasting. I ordered the Cashew Shrimp and Chicken. 3 sad, rubbery pcs of shrimp and hardly any chicken. And the chicken was stringy and tough. NO flavor what so ever to the dish. Tons of RAW celery and cashews. Just terrible. The "lo mein" was like skinny, buttery noodles. Didn't taste like Chinese food at all. Waste of money. Very sad. Not authentic, low quality ingredients, no flavor...just not good.

Tadd C.

Yelp
ordered dinner portion of beef and broccoli and a wet gym sock would have better flavor then that did. the fried rice tasted like it was from the day before. would never order again from this restaurant.
google avatar

Precious B.

Yelp
Another recommendation that I'm so happy I tried! We ordered a lot of different things and we were satisfied with it all! My only complaint would be the fried rice not having any veggies in it. Just onions and egg. I shouldn't have to order protein in my fried rice for it to have carrots and all the extra veggies. My favorite part was the spring rolls. Usually when I get spring rolls they are skinny in comparison to a egg roll but these were just as big and stuffed as a egg roll without the meat. Very crunchy outside which I love and the veggies on the inside still had a bite to them! I like sweet and sour sauce with mine so make sure you specify because they don't give that. The shrimp lo mein was pretty good. Had a lot of vegetables and flavor. Crab ragoon was also tasty and I'm not big on cream cheese but theirs I could handle. Overall we all enjoyed our food and would definitely return!

Angela M.

Yelp
I wish I had read some of those one star reviews before we went here. It was absolutely horrible food. We used DoorDash or would have sent the food back to the kitchen and asked for our money back. The lo mein was lo mein only in theory: weird skinny noodles and no sauce. (If you look at Sonja C's photo of lo mein, you will get it.) The cashew chicken was really indescribable, except to say it was awful: tasteless grey stuff. Most of all of that food went right into the trash. We won't be back.

Yelp
Wing's restaurant is a great place to get delicious old school Chinese food. Super cool vintage vibe about the whole restaurant, a place that you want to become a local at! I had the shrimp fried rice and it was delicious. Tons of veggie options, seafood, chicken and beef options. Super great and quick service. Finished off the meal with a sweet treat of an almond cookie for $.50! Who knew you could get anything at a restaurant for $.50 anymore? Excited to go back and slowly work our way through the menu.
google avatar

Kim W.

Yelp
Wish I didn't have give any stars! This place is horrible - ordered the pork lo mein and chicken lo mein and their noodles are mei fun not lo mein. Just not the quality I remember them having long ago when I went there occassionally! Beware!
google avatar

Bruce W.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food was excellent as usual and the service was impeccable. I had the lunch appetizer and rice. The hot tea was included with lunch. The spare rib was very tasteful and the shrimp and egg roll were great!
google avatar

Kyle B.

Yelp
Not sure what other folks are talking about but the lo-mein is quite delicious and fresh!

Yelp
Possibly the best scotch whisky selection in Columbus can be found at... this Chinese restaurant. Odd, but it's true! I ate here last week with my in laws for a birthday dinner. Half the people in my group showed up expecting chicken wings so they were a bit confused at first when they realized "Wing's" isn't a chicken wings place. But they love Chinese food too, so we were all excited to try out a new (to us) Chinese restaurant! Their menu is pretty extensive, and they also have some typical American fare like BLT sandwiches. The prices are quite reasonable for a sit down Chinese restaurant. In terms of the food though, I would say that this is more of an Americanized Chinese food than authentic Chinese food. They serve complementary bread with their meals for crying out loud. I love bread, so I thought it was great. But you can't say authentic Chinese food when you're eating it with a side of french bread! The Sichuan Seafood that I ordered came in a brown sauce, which also took me off guard since Sichuan/Szechuan is typically a spicy red chili sauce. It tasted good. Just wasn't what I was expecting. Overall, an good meal and a good deal but not something I would rave about.

Yelp
Always enjoy a meal here, great service and good food! Hope to attend on the patio some day soon!

Yelp
SEVEN WORDS: TRADITIONAL UPSCALE CHINESE / COMFY ATMOSPHERE / BOISTEROUS BAR. . Located in Eastmoor for over 50 Years, Wings Restaurant is a mainstay and staple to the near-east side. No wonder, with the only nearby Chinese restaurant over a mile away and no formal sit-down Chinese Restaurant until youget to Reynoldsburg or Downtown. . Still, Wings holds it's own against a handful of great restaurants In Bexley and Just East of I-270. . We ordered the General Tsos and Kung Pao Trio - and selected an appetizer of Calamari. . The Calari was middling to good, with a full plate of smaller octopus babies Fried up in a savory but light breading. We gobbled it up in a flah. . When the main courses came out, the servings were a little larger than average and the sauces were both better than average. The Kung Pao trio was a dish similar to Triple Delight or Triple Phoenix - with healthy portions of Shrimp, Beef Strips, and Chicken mingling with all the usual Chinese Vegetables in a Hot Brown Sauce. I was thankful for the absence of both Green Peppers and Onions, which I feel ruin Stir Fry. . My wife's General Tsos was a definite upgrade from most traditional recipes. Wing's version had a great mix of both hot and sweet elements, with a light dusting of Sesame Seeds covering the Molasses-soaked Chicken and Split Black Peppers. Woo Whee! Good Stuff! . The only drawback (and a mild one at that) was the $43 bill, but that's minor considering we added Calamari and I had a dish featuring sizable portions of 3 meats. . Over and above the huge portions of good food, the ambience is mellow: blue-green walls warp around dark walnut furnishings in a cool white light. . So, while the price is a small bit high, theres a lot of value to go around.

Yelp
An old gem!!!! Wings has been around longer than I've been alive. They have good food and nice staff. Their restaurant hasn't changed and it brings me back to my childhood every time I come in!! Their wonton soup is amazing!!! They give complimentary hot tea when you order an entree. Their egg rolls are fantastic! They have a party area in the basement and a bar on one side- restaurant on the other!

Yelp
The lunch menu is really nice! I had the General Tso Chicken, and I truly enjoyed every bite! The prices for the lunch menu are fair and the portion is just right. Give it a try!

Yelp
First visit. Sunday, 12/30/18 Early New Years celebration for 6 adults. I've heard the rave reviews of Wings for years. Every time we roll down Main St. through Bexley, we point and say "we need to go". This time I made the reservation, and told my friends where we were going for our New Years gathering. I was skeptical at first. You read reviews, stare at photo's. I was worried I had just booked a special occasion at a wood table with paper placemats, and napkins. Those photos are all from lunch. Dinner is white linen tablecloths and napkins(see pic). The flowers on the table are fresh. The bathrooms were remodeled and expanded in 2016(see pics). The menu and furniture is a bit dated. There is a respectable amount of parking in the private lot. The wine and liquor list is extensive. We did not have a Scotch drinker in our party, but the list displayed many brands that this former bartender had never heard of. We were immediately greeted upon entering, by a friendly, smiling woman at the hostess stand. Our table was all set up and waiting. A chilled bottle of Plum wine and champagne flutes were shared. Next came the cocktails, followed by appetizers. The hand rolled egg rolls were crispy, golden brown, and stuffed with shrimp & pork(see pic). I must say I was jealous of my friends Hot & Sour soup(see pic). It was so thick, and hearty. Like a stew. He said it had a great flavor balance as well. The condiments were spicy mustard and a sweet, tart lemon sauce. Red sweet & sour sauce was available upon request. I asked our server what the house specialties are. There is no "Chef Recommendations" on the menu. He said "it's all about the sauce". I wanted spicy, so he suggested the spicy brown. Choosing my proteins and some vegetables... led me to the Sichuan Combination(see pic & description). It is a tasty sauce, but I could use some more heat when warning with a colored red pepper on the menu. My meats were a hit and miss of tender and chewy. There was a generous portion with steamed rice. Others were pleased with their Kung Pao, Sesame, and Mongolian. The Prime Rib Special was too far medium for a medium-rare meat. These are also guests who don't believe in sending the plate back, to give the restaurant a chance to make it perfect. They could have sliced from a different part of the prime rib. Great service for the most part. When we loitered over drinks and conversation, our server was a bit more scarce. **In Conclusion** We will definitely return. The food was good, and priced right. The service and atmosphere are also good. I want to work my way around the menu, and update the review as I go.

Yelp
Ordered shrimp lo mein... Received something else!... Ramen noodles with vegetables and shrimp... The Ramen noodles were so nasty I couldn't even eat them... sent it back and got shrimp fried rice instead... Something easy to cook... After a few bites I bit into something that tasted like sand was mixed in with it... And the shrimp was the smallest shrimp I've ever seen... If I could give these guys a zero I would... Absolute worst Chinese I've ever had!... I used to drive truck... I've ordered Chinese in over 1000 restaurants across America.... don't waste your time going here!!!..... they do have a bar... They should close the restaurant and just serve booze!
google avatar

Jon B.

Yelp
I've eaten at Wings for over 35 years, not all the time but a few times a year. Three stars is ridiculous...4.5 for sure. Accommodated our party of 9 last minute on Sunday night...service was great and food was too. Tried Beef with oyster sauce...delicious. Crab Rangoon was good.

Kimberly H.

Yelp
This was the absolute worst representation of chinese food. The people were very nice but I got very sick from thr food Herr. It's not authentic in any way. You don't get bread and butter at a Chinese restaurant...lol. That should have been a clue!
google avatar

Rochane F.

Yelp
Food was not that good. Did not taste authentic. Portions were a good size but food was not great. Won't be back.

Leslie W.

Yelp
Order through door dash the problem was the go food was plain from the restaurant and I mean plain I spent $50 on food what was the point of spending $50 worth of food when it was super small portions the crab ragoon they tasted like I never tasted before witch isn't a good thing I never in my life will order from here again!!!!! waste my money and appetite
google avatar

Karen H.

Yelp
Meh on the chicken lo mein - no vegetables, four pieces of chicken, no taste. What's up with that Wings? Per your reviews it's supposed to be good food. Maybe because it was an after work on a Friday take away order...? My husband is saying he'd rather go to a hole in the wall Chinese place. My shrimp chow mein wasn't bad. The only things really tasty were the egg roll and the spring roll. The wrapping was crispy and fresh. Just wondering what happened with rest of order. May try again. May not. Not too happy with our first visit.

Yelp
This is a Bexley institution. One of those restaurants that have stood the test of time. The same family has owned it for decades and it's still going strong. Take a seat at the bar with the regulars or have a seat in the dining room. The servers and bartenders have been there for a long time and they know their stuff. Service will always be friendly and well paced. Kenny, the owner, will remember you if you've been there a few times. Got a special request? They are glad to custom make your order if you have something you want to leave out or you want to tweek a dish a bit. Some of the things I've tried are their Eggrolls, Potstickers, Kung Pao Chicken, Chow Fun See, Lo Mein, Hot and Sour Soup, War Sue Gai and Lettuce Wraps. All are good, but you really need to check out the Lettuce Wraps. It's an appetizer but you can really make a meal out of it. Don't know what it is? Well, it's minced chicken, flavourful but not spicy and served with iceberg lettuce leaves. Put the chicken in the lettuce, roll it up and eat. If you are a Scotch drinker, you may have already heard of their stellar selection of Scotches. Kenny knows his Scotch and he tries to get ones that you don't see here very often. They have a full party room with a bar set up downstairs. Got a party or large event? They can handle it there. Wings also has a patio on the side of their building for those days you need Chinese al fresco. TIP: If you are a person of size you will need to be aware that their restrooms are much smaller than most people's closets and the short hallway to get to them might be a well, challenge. You'll see. Great classic Chinese American restaurant. Worth driving to for a great meal.

Yelp
Just when I thought I'd seen everything, Mike G takes me to a place that's like noneother. Wings is like stepping back into the past. When's the last time you saw Chop Suey or Ham Fried Rice on the menu? Well, you can get those and more at Wing's. I ordered an eggroll (not that hot) and Orange Beef (pretty good). This was the first time I'd gotten onions and pea pods and they were pretty good. The meat was well cooked and tender. And while I'm not a scotch drinker, this restaurant is well known for having an excellent collection of scotches.

Yelp
Finally got here. I was in the area for something else, quite a bit off my normal routes. And I practically drove right past it, so I had to stop in. Besides, I wanted Chinese, and how often does that happen ;) It's in a fairly nondescript area, but it's a nice little building and the inside is pretty fancy. At least, I felt out of place in my t-shirt, though they had no problem with it. Service is efficient and friendly. And fast, but then they're weren't busy. I had crab Rangoon to start. Pretty good, very crabby- as in, real crab. There's a big, interesting menu, but I went with a special: garlic chicken. Tender meat, in a black bean sauce that subtly but definitively showcased garlic. Some green onions added variety. Prices for lunch were good. Portions were fine. The staff and decor were, well, old-school but clean and modern, if that makes sense.
