I’ve never had an issue with the store itself—it's generally clean, well-stocked, and the staff inside have always been polite. However, I had an extremely uncomfortable experience in the parking lot that has made me decide not to return unless it is resolved.
While I was loading my groceries into my truck, a man approached me identifying himself as a Jehovah’s Witness. What started as a conversation quickly turned into him telling me that my religion was false and that his was the “true” one. While I remained respectful during the conversation, I found his comments inappropriate and offensive.
Before leaving, he told me that Winn-Dixie employees allow him to witness to customers in the parking lot and that he helps with collecting grocery carts (I am not sure if this claim is true). Either way I find it very concerning that this kind of behavior is seemingly accepted or even potentially supported on store property (if the staff is aware of it).
Telling people their beliefs are false is not only disrespectful—it’s deeply inappropriate, especially in a public space like a grocery store parking lot. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this Winn-Dixie unless this issue is resolved.
