A touch of the Adirondacks in Sugar Hill, Harlem. Winnie Said, a part of the extended Harlem Public family, is a delightful departure from the standard sports bar one finds in this area. There is ample space to kick back on a coach and relax in this charming and family friendly spot. The decor is distinctly ‘mountain lodge’ and while there are tv screens through out (creating a chill spot for sports), they do not dominate or overwhelm. The food is exact right ‘step up’ from bar food without loosing the homey yet indulgent vibes of their sister spots on Broadway. One dish not to miss: The double smash burger. Decked out for ‘burger of the month’, the ‘cabin melt’ rocked double smash patties with the right mix of char and juice, spot on caramelized onions, bbq ranch(!) and upside down buns. I was not sure about this last bit, but getting this inside of the bun onto the grill did, in fact, add to the texture and the flavor. I had mine with maple bacon and a runny egg. It was soul satisfying. The sub’d in kale Caesar was a nod to my cardiovascular health and was very nicely dressed. 12 beers on tap, un-fussy cocktails and a warm welcoming staff pull the experience together. Great place to take family, groups and out of towners.

Love this place! We came in Saturday at 6 and were able to find a table immediately. The food was amazing! We got the burger of the month (elote smash burger) and it was incredible. I was pleasantly surprised by the cheesy grits with short ribs. SO GOOD. I am going to be coming back just for those to be quite honest. They have a front dining area and back dining area and can accommodate larger parties with advanced notice. The drinks were strong so it makes the price worth it. Overall I really have no critics. Check out their funky wallpaper in the bathrooms, it made me laugh.

I had a nice first visit here. It took a while for us to get serviced, but besides that, it was a great visit overall. I love the vibe of the restaurant and really enjoyed the food and drinks! Great happy hour and our margaritas were strong. Will definitely come back!

The portion sizes for the entrées here are very very small. I ordered the shrimp roll, and it was about a four inch sandwich. The roll itself was unusually thick, which made the amount of shrimp inside feel minimal. For the first time at a restaurant, I felt like the fries-to-main ratio was around 75/25. That dish was $21. The other person in my party ordered the steak dish, and the proportions were similarly unbalanced. Flavor-wise, everything was just okay and the shrimp had a Cajun-style seasoning, and the steak came with a chimichurri-style sauce. On the positive side, the space is interesting and unique. The cabin theme is nicely done and gives the restaurant a distinctive atmosphere.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Winnie Said is an absolute gem in Harlem. The food, drinks, and overall vibe are all top-tier — it’s the kind of place you want to keep coming back to whether it’s for a casual night out or a special occasion. Vanessa was incredible to work with when helping me coordinate my birthday party. I was able to rent out the entire space, and she made the whole process seamless from start to finish. Despite the large crowd, the service was fantastic — attentive, organized, and genuinely warm. My guests and I are still talking about how well we were taken care of. I’ve since helped host another gathering there for a friend’s going-away, and once again the service was stellar. It’s rare to find a place that can handle big groups so effortlessly while still delivering great food and drinks and maintaining such a fun atmosphere. This spot is truly a Harlem standout. Several friends who hadn’t heard of Winnie Said before my events have since gone back on their own — which says it all. Highly recommend for both everyday hangs and private events.

My wife, two-year-old daughter and I went here for lunch and it was phenomenal! The decor reminds you of a ski lounge but with an addition of several TVs dedicated to sports of all sorts. My wife had the Grindr Salad which shes had to-go a few times and she loved it as usual. My daughter enjoyed the smash burger, but she mostly enjoyed the fries (as two-year-olds do) which were crisp and perfectly salted. I took a chance on the fish sandwich and was blown away. It's cod fried in some sort of magical potato chip batter?! I highly recommend it! It also came with fries which unfortunately my daughter finished for me. Ray was our bartender/server. He was very polite and very attentive. My wife and I had beers from the extensive draft selection and Ray got them to us almost as fast as we ordered them. Overall it was a great experience and Winnie Said is great spot for all restaurant goers who enjoy good food and good people!

This place is awesome! The atmosphere is pretty chill, perfect to hang out, catch up with your friends. Food was outstanding! The crab fries I’m obsessed and my best friend couldn’t stop talking about the burger! Definitely making my go to spot for a good time!

What a great new neighborhood gem! My friend and I stopped in for lunch and once we saw there was happy hour from 11am-7pm - it quickly turned to a boozy lunch. They also have food specials from 11am-4pm. I started off with the s'mores espresso martini (not on HH) bc it sounded too good & WAS! My friend opted for a Guava mimosa. Ray was a wonderful bartender and we really enjoyed our time with him. Drinks and recommendations were on point. We then moved to margaritas ($8 on HH) they were very good and as I always love to point out I am a margarita connoisseur. For food we did buffalo and lemon pepper WHET. I enjoyed both with the house made ranch. My friend thought they were just ok. The smash burger was EXCELLENT. Even the fries are the good psoriasis kind lol. Love the cozy vibe in there as well. It's giving cabin upstate.

Let me tell you what Winnie Said... We ordered a few cocktails, Trippin Balls, The Bivvy, and Morning Wood. The cesar salad was classic, nothing to rave about. The burger was delicious, perfect comfort food! The wings were juicy and butter and so much flavor. The ambiance is so cozy and cute! Like a cabin vibe. The music was also really good this night lol. I highly recommend. A great upgrade in the neighborhood for a chill night out!

This place is fantastic! With all due respect to its predecessor Grill on the Hill, this location was in desperate need of some love and the owners Jared and Vanessa have done an outstanding job. Fun, homey cabin decor, delicious and fresh food, excellent cocktails and draft list, and the owners themselves are very hands on and very welcoming. We live in the neighborhood and will be hanging here a lot! :)

Soft Opening!!! Woot Woot!!! I had to come and support a new local businesses love having a place walking distance from home. Two things that are a bonus and we will return- Jack Daniels and Cider Beers. So far so good. I will follow with an update. Cheers!

My husband and I decided to go to Winnie said for a low key anniversary date. Winnie's did not disappoint! I love a dim light setting. It is huge space there's a front room and then a back space. It was busy and bustling on that Friday evening. The servers were nice and attentive. The Winnie smash burger was BOMB! It's all i can think about lol. It came out hot, fresh and delicious. The fries were crispy. I had an espresso martini that was a play on s'mores. Delightful. Winnie said is my new favorite bar in the area. Reasonably priced and if you go to happy hour you'll get a deal on food and drinks. Definitely a great spot to go on a date or with your friends.

Checked out Winnie's on Saturday night and as someone that once visited the old establishment here, to call this spot a glow-up would be a complete understatement. Wont go into drinks as all I had was Montauk on draft (which is a major plus) but I'll speak on the food. We tried four things off the menu. The elote with pork rinds, the popcorn chicken, the buffalo wings and the smashed burger (not in the picture) and every single one of them HIT. Wings were crispy and perfectly cooked, popcorn chicken was hella tasty with the aioli dipping sauce, double smash burger and fries were perfect but the star in my mind was the cheesy elote and pork rinds. It's not something you'll find on a menu too often but when it's done right, like this, it's an automatic order. Very much looking forward to going back to Winnie's and trying more food, as well as diving into their vast beverage selection.

I had high hopes for this place since it was recommended by friends. The ambiance is great. The food and service not so great. The bartender wasn't knowledgeable of the drinks at all! I ordered a seltzer and he gave me the wrong drink three times then gave my friend the wrong drink. They need to properly train their staff on their products. We ordered a few food dishes to share asked for app first and everything came at once. We ordered buffalo wings, which were not buffalo wings. They had a weird cumin taste in the sauce. Disgusting! We couldn't eat them because buffalo wings don't have cumin! They should call the sauce something else, so misleading. Especially for people with allergies. Lastly the bartender took away the full plate of wings after we told him and who we think was the manager, who also debated us on the wings, how bad the wings were. They never took them off the bill. I've been working in the industry for over 20years and grew up in restaurants. And I never write bad reviews but this place needs to listen to the negative feedback and make proper changes, if they want to stay open. If the wings were taken off and if the person who was acting like a manager didn't sit there and argue with us about the weird tasting wings. Then I probably wouldn't have written this review. But the restaurant definitely didn't handle the issue properly at all.

I love this new spot uptown and I will absolutely be back. I hope to make this a regular spot. I had the s'more espresso martini which was a fun take on a popular cocktail. The food was great. I was also so excited to see they hade Great Lakes Brewery's Christmas Ale on tap! Fun vibes. It feels like being in a slightly irreverent cabin upstate. The servers are friendly too.

I came here on a Thursday night to try this place. First this place is quite beautiful and I would definitely come back. They recently opened and they are playing around with the menu so my review will be updated. I went with a friend and we order two drinks each an appetizer and shared a meal. First the two drinks I ordered were the marshmallow espresso drink and a cinnamon drink. The drinks were ok; the marshmallow coffee drink would have done better if they would have had a smaller marshmallow or more of a toasted version of the marshmallow. The cinnamon drink was ok but I don't remember it so that means; I would not get it again. I enjoyed my friend drink he had a mescal with hibiscus and I thought his drink was quite good. We ordered the pork rinds which were quite tasty and the dipping sauce they came with was delicious and I would hope they use that on more dishes. We also ordered the chicken sandwich and that was ok. The chicken was overcooked and it needed more of a sauce. I would recommend they try to incorporate the dipping sauce of the pork rinds to the chicken sandwich. I did see someone order a cheeseburger and it looked really good. I know I went very soon after they opened so I would definitely go again. I know they were working out some kinks and it can only get better. The space is lovely and the manager Vanessa is amazing and very friendly. She really cares and welcome all feedback.

The wings were fried too hard but everything else was excellent. Great burger. Outstanding service. Decor, C for the front part of the restaurant--it's unclear what it's giving. The back area is like a cozy cabin, A-.

Cozy, welcoming and exciting atmosphere with the best staff. Food and drink menus are thought out and well executed. Both the front and back rooms are such a vibe. Back room is ideal for a private party! I want to come back everyday!!!! 10/10 must go!

Fun bar with chill vibes and delish food. Hugeee back room for events and parties. (I want them to add a pool table lol) and tons of tv's for watching men in tights

Winnie Said...but let me tell you! The staff at Winnie's is amazing, friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The pride and comfort in the staff make it hard to distinguish who is the owner versus the server. The food is elevated and approachable. The description of cocktails matches the execution to the T. Winnie's is comfortable, laid back, and has a sexy ambiance with an amazing soundtrack. It's my go-to place uptown.

The vibes are AWESOME the staff are SOOO NICE. And the food and drinks are reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. Also i'm a college student and i like to come in during the day to study in the back room. It's just absolutely incredible im so glad this spot opened up

Best burger I've had in a long time -- double patty, good sauce, good brioche bun and crispy fries! Drinks were good, had loudish music but totally able to carry a conversation, and I liked that there were two separate areas. Lots of space and well used. Seriously the burger was really good.

Wow wow wow , amazing vibe cold beer what more can I say the bartenders took great care of us , shout out the kitchen staff for hooking it up lobster rolls going crazy. Great attention to detail and a great addition to the hood.

great food, fun place to watch some sports and have a couple beers. absolutely will be coming back as frequently as i can. just need to not drink so much next time cuz this place is a trap. never wanna leave
