Winnie's Bar Restaurant

When you come on a quiet night, it's pretty cozy. The music is nice. The mocktails are great and well priced. The pizza is basic but still tasty. The servers are very friendly. We've been back twice now. It's one of our new places for date night.

This is an amazing bar with rooftop patio in one of the prime locations on cresant street. Went for drinks and lunch with a group of friends and liked their food drinks and food. Service was good and quick. Tried their veggie pizza, club sandwich, jambalaya rice with chicken and some cocktails. Worth visiting this place

Nachos: basic but good Rice: super gooooood Tortelini: creamy, filling, not particularly special but good Calamari: gets soggy really fast. The red sauce is literally red sugar. Fried cauliflowers: interesting dish. A bit expensive. Koolaid cocktail: SO GOOD, like a melted pink mister freeze. As an person thay doesnt like the taste of alcohol, I highly recommend. Make sure you mix well! A but pricey to my taste, but great service!

First time here and will definitely be my last. I'm vacationing Montreal with my husband and thought we would stop off in a pub with a familiar name. Food was okay but our issue was with our server (happy if you reach out I will name them- do not want to plaster their name over the internet). Our server complied with basic service which was fine, didn't go over the top or come back often to check water etc. so very basic which was fine. Our issue was when asking for the bill, my husband gave a smaller tip that I guess they were expecting, they STORMED away like a toddler and began huffing about it to their colleagues and staring and glaring at us. I am gobsmacked that we witnessed that as we are both fairly travelled and have never seen a server or anyone working in hospitality act so petulant. We always tip well for exceptional experience which we have done in numerous places in Montreal. Would not recommend.

My wife and I cane here on a recommendation from a friend. The food was fantastic (fish and chips) and the service was excellent as well. Great ambiance as well. I highly recommend.

First time visiting Montreal from Vancouver and Any & Raquel were serving us. Chatted a bit and found out we were visiting, they were so hospitable and welcoming. Made my girlfriend and I feel comfortable and so attentive. Thank you for making our night out enjoyable and the vibes reminded us of our home night life! Also the bouncer, I did not catch their name, was very sweet and friendly, and the security staff is attentive and does a great job as well!

This bar is good I guess, but the bartender really makes the experience. Khara is so social and really sweet and she makes the best drinks, totally will go back for the service 100%

Had a great time, relaxed lounge experience two bars. Great staff and a really good happy hour! On the list for every visit!

Went for new year's eve party and had a great time. It's on the 1st floor of a 3-story complex having different bar/longest on each level. Ground level has Winston Churchill Pub and top level has Karina lounge. We bought NYE ticket with access to all 3 levels and it was worth it. All 3 levels had different atmosphere with DJ playing in Winston Churchill and Karina lounge and live band in Winnie's. Winnie's has 3 bars with ample bar seating, dining area and space for live music. Had a great time, will definitely recommend this place.

Don't waste any time of your trip here. That is my most honest review on this place. We arrived after dinner, we wanted to get a seat in what looked like a lovely patio/terrace. I wished we weren't fooled by looks. We were seated right away, ordered drinks to our very obnoxious waitress. She was just so weird about everything we asked for. Everything was okay, until the table next to us decided to pick on a little verbal dispute with the way we were looking over their table. Full disclaimer we were looking out to the street from our side of the terrace. Just goes to say what type of crowd goes here. Greg's brother was charged twice for a double drink. He ordered a mojito and they shared him $15 X 2 since we ordered a double. Make sure you order your drink with a side shot, you might have to be brutally stupid when communicating with the staff here. We didn't try any of the food, but honestly happy we didn't. Any ways... no stars are worth this place for me.

Walking around downtown Montreal looking for someplace to eat and I really don't have a taste for anything specific. So I wander down Crescent Street (Rue Crescent) and I decide on this place after checking out the menu. Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: The 2nd floor balcony and lively aura is what drew me in. Who doesn't like to sit above the street and people watch? So Winnie has a series of personalities, which I did like. There's a restaurant portion downstairs then the exciting bar area upstairs. I walked past the cook lighting and around the multiple bars to hang out on the patio in the lovely weather. There's also a nice stage for live music which happens very often. Service: Viviane took care of me and she did a pretty good job. Either I drink water fast or she took her time checking in on me for my water refills. I actually had to stop eating and wait for her to come back before I continued eating again. (I don't eat unless I have something to drink to wash it down.) Oh well. Food: I decided on the Quinoa & Salmon salad. I added an extra piece of salmon and some bacon.The salad typically comes with the protein over a bed of quinoa served with orange vinaigrette dressing. It was very, very good. It was a protein-packed dinner after a good day at the gym. Value: All prices are in $CAD. My standard salad was $16.95, the addition of bacon was $1.95 and an extra piece of SALMON was ONLY $2.95. That is a STEAL! An awesome salmon with that much meat on it for only $25.12?! (After taxes.) It was a very good deal. In conclusion I only gave this place 3 stars because it just didn't wow me. It was cool. I'd come back for sure to try something different, but I think this place is better when it's in its lively bar mode. I'll be sure to come back for that.

Went for happy hour and the free buffet. Food was disgusting and the staff disrespectful. Overcharged us for the drinks. Place is not worth it at all.

We went in there simply because they were playing 80s music. Our phones had died as we have been taking great photos all day. We asked the bartender for a charger and she said she didn't have one. She asked the other three bar men who all said no. We explained that we were there to scout for a venue for our son's wedding. He is from LA and his fiancé is from Paris, We thought Montreal would be a great half way point for the huge crowd. Once we told them that, we get about ten chargers. We said no thanks and took our business elsewhere. Really a bar with no chargers?

Bad service , waitress bad talking , food not as described , a lot of bad words in the t'arrêtes so if you're the kind of clean person who doesn't love bad environment near u when sitting to chill that's not the good place for you

Me & my girls came from America; such great service & atmospher. BEST DINNER EVER!! Casandra was the sweetest server I've ever had & she was so accommodating. MUST COME !

We were greeted immediately by the maitre-de. We requested balcony seating. Tight seating on the balcony but we made friends with our table-mates from Ottawa :) Perfect weather and a lots of sunshine, which explains why it was so crowded. Excellent service. It was great to see such team work with the waitresses and also the maitre-de, who was bussing at times. You could tell this restaurant cares about their guests. Arrived during happy hour 2 for 1 drinks, free chips/salsa, popcorn, chili, etc. Had Pizza Strips and Jambalaya. Extremely reasonable - especially at Happy Hour!

We stopped in here on Saturday night for a few drinks and a bite to eat. Unfortunately we only received one drink and never did see the waitress again so we were unable to order any food or more drinks. When we attempted to pay, the hostess had to track down our server and then she (the server) actually had the nerve to chastise us for not trying harder to get her attention to place an order. I'm pretty sure that's not the definition of providing "service". It's really too bad because the atmosphere was very fun, the drinks were tasty and the view was killer! The lack of service and attitude really put a damper on our visit to this establishment.

Comfortable atmosphere - friendly service. Try to get a table on the terrass. Great view of the street from there.

We had 7 people and the service was good!!! The food I'm the other hand was not bad. Just the steak was poor quality. The pasta and other dish was very good. Atmosphere was great too. I would come again!!!

At first all was ok. Had a great waitress for our party of 6 and even though the table was crummy we thought the food was pretty good (although not amazing) and were happy. Then our waitress left and the new waitress was unbelievably bad. She stopped at our table when she started and then never came back even though we tried flagging her down several times. 45 min we finally caught her attention and her reply was "What? I'm really fu*&%ng busy." Unbelievably rude. We left immediately and will not be back.

Nice fun tradational bar with great service and plentiful space. There are three bars and a big area to sit and have a meal. Plenty of TV's to watch the game. About 7+ beers on tap and the prices are really good. Great place to hang out and I will be back next time I am in Montreal.

Let me start this review by saying that I am a die hard Montreal Canadiens fan. I was born and partially raised in Montreal, the greatest city in the world. Winnie's is a place where I always go when I am visiting my birth city. The space is large, which is perfect for the raving Habs fans who couldn't get tickets to the game. Despite the space it feels cozy and warm. I can't say I have gone through their menu extensively. I stick to the Winnie burger and a few pints of Alexander Keiths. Service is always excellent. If you happen to be in Montreal stop in on a night when the habs are playing and join in the fun!

We loved sitting on the terrace drinking martini's with the great views of classic Montreal architecture. Fun loving crowd, bar food is decent, atmosphere outside is top notch.

I had a great time at this place. The bartenders were awesome. I was there for quite a while and had 2 different tenders. Both were really cool, they knew how to keep yoyr drinks filled and were great conversationalists. The happy hour was really good. 2 for 1 bottles and $2 off tap. The food was amazing. We got a cheese plate to start, it was huge. It actually took us a few hours and many drinks to really want dinner. I had the steak sandwich. It was spectacular! A large piece of steak with brie, lettice and tomato. If you get into this area go! It was a great spot. It is the cozier upstairs of Winston Churchhill bar.

I didn't go to the other venues in this building but I did visit the Winnie's section. Winnie's is the upstairs bar portion. It's quite nice. I was impressed with the interior because from the outside it doesn't look like much. However when you step inside you'll find not one, but five, elaborately closed-loop wooden bars (ie: think Cheers style) and you'll also find lots of table seating. There's even several slot machines in the back room. Maybe I lucked out on a good night because the place was fairly empty and the atmosphere was very chill, with a mixture of young and old patrons. The bar staff was terrific and I had zero complaints with my drinks. I would return again but I would probably return on a weeknight again, because I can imagine this place getting really crowded on the weekends. After all, they don't have five bars for nothing.

Nice service and decor but they can't make cocktails to save their lives. Order a beer instead...

Awful service, got order wrong and didn't offer to remake it or comp it on the bill. Food is less than mediocre at best. Do NOT come here if you want decent or even good service. Felt sick after leaving here. This place is a waste of money

The service was great especially for it being so packed. I was told they had the best happy hour, but was less than impressed. I also got the poutine, which was okay...not the best but not terrible. I didn't stay for long, but it seemed like a fun place to go with a bunch of people for expensive drinks.

My boyfriend and I were bored on a sunday afternoon so we decided to go terrasse hopping. We came to this place and I can't really complain. We were served instantly, the waitress was SUPER sweet, the food looked good (we didn't eat), the drinks were 2 for 1 and the sun was out. What more can I ask for?? Oh! Yea.. vodka! And they had it! And Sabrina was happy. The end.

Very busy, but a cool and relatively inexpensive place to have a drink. We went twice, sitting outside both times as it was nice out. The patio is great for people-watching! Beers were 3.50 each (at least Coors Light was; probably not all beer), which was pretty cheap compared to some other places on Crescent. The bar inside seemed like it would have been a lot of fun - cute bartender who was very friendly, and quite a lot of room to sit. The menu had a lot of meat on it, so vegetarian dining was a little bit hard, but they had a couple salads and noodle dishes you could get without the meat (though I would just recommend eating elsewhere cheaper if you're a vegetarian). Winnie's is a good place for drinks though, and would definitely go again for more!

Good restaurant. Excellent wait staff. Great selection of microbrews and the fish and chips is fantastic. I really liked the relaxed vibe here. It felt like you were hanging out in a well stocked living room watching the hockey game. It is very easy to make friends with the table next to you here.

Great Fish-n-Chips, steak sandwhich as good as well. We went early evening on a Tuesday, first waitress we had was great, second one pretty much ignored us. Worth the food, though.

We arrived and asked for a table for two on the terasse - the waitress asked if for drinks or food, we said for drinks. After getting a table in the half empty terasse , we didn't even have time to order our drinks that another waitress told us that we have to move inside if we don't consume more than 6.50 dollars per person!!! What a unpleasant welcome - will never come back!

We were here on Sarurday night, live music coverband no entrance fee. Recommend it for a laid back sing along to Eric Clapton leyla kind of night. We had a nice time and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Great friendly place excellent service and cool Happy Hour. My only problem is the music could use some up dated a bit more 90s. We love our classics but not blerring so loud at 6:00 people need to chill after a long week at the office. Keep it Rolling and past the love to one of the greatest bartenders Margo .
