A complete scam. We paid €250 each for the Christmas Brunch. For this price, one expects exceptional products such as a little bit of caviar, scallops, fine pastries, or at the very least truffles. There was none of that. Furthermore, the products displayed (a poor selection of pecorino, 4 or 5 types of ham, breads, awful pastries, fruits, shrimps, and hot dishes) were a disgrace for such a high-end place. The cooked dishes were of very low quality as well—I had the worst pasta of my entire stay in Florence. The coffee wasn't great either.
The service was very nice and attentive, but not in line with the supposed standard of the hotel. Overall, what we had was worth no more than €60 each—and I’m being generous here. On our way out, a waitress kindly gifted us one panettone to go, wrapped in some "fancy" fabric. The panettone didn't have any fruit in it, and the brioche was dry. This, again, speaks volumes about the "care" the restaurant puts into satisfying its customers.
I wouldn’t mind as much if we hadn’t paid €500 and if the restaurant didn’t market itself as very high-end. For comparison, I recently had brunch at the Peninsula Paris (a palace). Their brunch costs less and is incomparable to this farce.
I would advise going there just for a drink—the staff is nice enough, and I must admit that the dining room is magnificent. Otherwise, do not go there.
