"A friendly and modern restaurant in the tastefully done out hotel of the same name. In summer, it is a treat to sit on the Mediterranean-style terrace. The kitchen serves tasty Baden dishes prepared with precise craftsmanship and based on choice ingredients. When it comes to the wine, too, the restaurant has a clear penchant for the region. There is also the Weinstube – a traditional rustic-style wine bar." - Michelin Inspector

Hotel rooms superb, but it's service and restaurant? Few points: 1) Two asian waitresses very kind However 2) Probably the worst wiener schnitzel I ever had, extremely fat-soaked, almost un-eatable 3) The restaurant opened till 22:30 but kitchen closed at 21:00. After 21:00 you can drink only. No chips, nuts, simply nothing even small to eat. 4) A large fridge at the reception offers different wines and non alco drinks, same in minibar, but again, nothing to eat, just drinks 5) The wine list consist from only very local wines... I'd accept if focused to local but not in 100%. ... I do not understand the hotel's policy. Why to close kitchen 90 minutes before restaurant is closed. What should the guests to do? To sit and drink only? I believe that a chance to buy something small, both in the reception and restaurant (+ some choice in minibar) would represent an easy profit + would increase evening consumption of drinks. (The same is valid for the afternoon hours, you check in at 3pm and no chance to eat anything till the dinner time.)

The place itself is very nice. Rooms are nicely renovated and the location is in an idyllic surrounding.||||It started with the check in. We requested an upgrade. Already here we were given a higher price than initially indicated. We were shown a nice and large room (208) and had to wait till it’s ready. However, we were given a much smaller room (207). We actually didn’t have the energy to argue.||Towards the evening, we noticed some symptoms with my wife and decided to do the COVID test. In all transparency, I called the manager and explained the situation. She was extremely rude!! She almost threatened to throw us out. She refused to send us food to the room. She indicated, that she will charge us with extra cost. All this was even before we got the results!! I did not even hear a word of curtesy or hope for a negative result or wish recovery (also after the positive result).||We checked out after one night. We had a reservation (not pre-paid) for 3 nights.||She insisted on charging us for the 3 nights in full.||I had other worries than to argue. We paid and left under extreme psychological pressure.||Upon my return and checking our reservation form, we were entitled to 80% only.||||Very traumatizing experience!

The hotel is very well situated in the town, but just far enough off the main road for the rooms to be quiet. Plenty of dedicated car parking outside. We were in the original building, so cannot comment on the new (much more expensive) block next door. Four flights of stairs (no lift) took us up to our room on the top floor. Very clean, spacious, nice big bathroom but rather hot. No air con and opening the windows gave the unending roar from the kitchen ventilator system. (I imagine rooms at the front, although overlooking the road, might be better.) Disappointed to find that the very stylish coffee maker produced only a "shot" amount of undrinkably strong espresso, although I guess some coffee addicts might like it. Staff were all very friendly, but they all looked a bit unsure of what was going on. We were told that the new owners had only recently taken over, so that might explain it. Certainly the restaurant was having problems. The menu was very limited and was certainly not we expected for a 4 star. We then waited 1 hour 20 minutes for our meal to arrive, and it was a very poor affair; poorly cooked very cheap asparagus, lousy hollandaise sauce, a quite nice schnitzel served bare on a plate with a thin slice of lemon. We imagined that the chef must have resigned and one of the kitchen porters had been pressed into service. There were only about 15 other diners, so it was not down to pressure of numbers. Just one waitress was doing a lot of running around and apologising. In fairness, they did knock quite a good bit off our bill, but the whole thing was rather expensive for what we had.

Ihringen is a pleasant little town, with wineries and a few interesting buildings. Externally, the Winvzerlube does not enhance the picture, with a traditional external building masked by its terrced restaurant and its modern bedroom wing. However, its very efficient, silent air conditioning, comfortable spacious rooms (ours was no 108 on the ground floor), excellent bathroom facilities and hotel bar, it was a godsend in temperatures soaring above 40 degrees. Buffet breakfasts were tasty with a good choice. Unfortunately the restaurant did not open in the evenings and we chose to eat in its associate Hotel/Restaurant Holzofele, about 200 metres away. Service was friendly and efficient both at the Winzerstube and the Holzofele.

Nice little town, but, sorry, to say, this is certainly one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Spending more than 100 nights in hotels per year for the last 10 years, I think I do have some comparison. And this is anything but a four star hotel. I would rate this 2.5, at the most and would highly recommend to the German Hotel Association to re-check. Paying almost 100 Euros for such a horrible room is outrages. Windows don’t close properly, located right at the main street of town (main street in terms of speed way with trucks passing all night, not in terms of nice little shopping street), the most basic furniture, uncomfortable beds. The pictures shown on the website do not reflect the reality in the hotel at all. Also, keep in mind that you don’t know if you’ll end up in the actual hotel or some 5 minute walk down the street in a separate building – that has neither a reception nor service nor breakfast nor parking nor anything. This could all be compensated by good service – unfortunately also not the case. For example, towels left on the floor (needed as the shower leaks massively!), where not replaced but hung back on the hanger (which actually also places the towels almost right into the toilet). As much as I would like to, but no, sorry, I can under no circumstances recommend this hotel. You are much better off, finding something nice in Freiburg and driving those 20 minutes.

One of the nicer Restaurants in Ihringen. The kitchen produces nicely done dishes. You can try yourself through the local wines. Sitting outside on the Terrace in the summer provides you with a holiday feeling. Great rooms. #spontago

We started with a lack of foresight – late September is grape harvest season and hotels are very busy. After stopping at a few hotels we were getting desperate, the TI was closed, and this hotel had a room available. The room was fine, nothing special, had lots of windows and a door to the deck where we enjoyed our wine and vegetables. A walk in the vineyards was a few steps away and the smell of ripe grapes hung in the air. The location was nice and the road at the front was not too busy. There was good space in the room and an effective desk and comfortable chairs.||No mini fridge or kettle but they provided us a wine cooler when we asked. The bathroom fan was a bit noisy.||Staff English was limited but we got along fine and they were all smiles and tried their best without resorting to rattling off more words than I could understand.||Breakfast was a bit mixed – it was not very well maintained but was refilled with a reasonable selection. The food was good and we had some fruits that we had not seen previously in our trip (blueberries, grapes, red currants).||They provide a free small bottle of wine on departure which was worth about what we paid, but a nice gesture for the train.

Modern hotel in Ihringen. We used this place for a corporate retreat. The meeting room was great. Lunch was served in the restaurant and always had an interesting selection. Super clean, very enjoyable.
