The 15 Best Vegan Restaurants in Tokyo, Japan - Eater

"Move over, banana split: The ever-so-tempting, towering, intricately layered, and decorated parfaits of Japan have you beat. Though they may seem out of reach for vegans, the parfait-shaped void in your life can be solved with a trip to the Lumine 1 department store (directly connected to Shinjuku Station), home of Wired Bonbon. While the shop does have a lineup of vegan cakes and a few savory lunch plates, stay on target with the parfaits, which come in varieties like matcha azuki, caramel apple (a favorite), or berry chocolate banana. The desserts here are created in collaboration with vegan patissier Haruo Okada, who has more than 16 years of experience creating egg- and dairy-free sweets, with a particular genius for whipped “creams.”" - Chiara Terzuolo

The menu is great for lunch or a sweet treat with your Omni friend if you’re vegetarian or vegan. All the vegan options are clearly labeled and I’m happy to have multiple choices. I had the soy meat platter and it was really tasty. Sauce of the soy meat was good flavored. Since we ordered the set menu, we also got a little dessert. The roasted green tea tiramisu was heavenly! Would recommend and come back to this place. Paid 3600 in total for 2 persons.

Adorable spot with delightful atmosphere. I came on a Wednesday afternoon and didn't have to wait long to be seated. Many desserts were vegan (maybe all of them?). We were able to order a variety of things to suit the plant based diet for my family of four. My dream is to live close enough to this place to come every week!

Sooo good! I am from LA where there are lots of yummy vegan options. I was surprised by how absolutely delicious everything we tried was. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the creme brûlée ;( but we ended up ordering the soft cream, berries crepe, and banana crepe. メチャメチャ美味しかった!Total came out around ¥3000 At the end, I dropped my coin purse and the server helped me pick up my money :,) <3 ありがたいよ〜 <3 will definitely be back. Also!!! Looks like it could be a good place to get some work done, which is huge bonus :,)

Five stars for the plant based parfaits. Dessert is the star here! My sweet tooth was satisfied with the chocolate mocha banana. It was the perfect amount of sweet, and I loved the amount of cream added. AND THEY ARE HUGE! I could barely finish it. I also had the fried soy plate, which was pretty yummy too! Note: Line up using the chairs next to the entrance of the cafe.

Still one of the best vegan restaurants that satisfy both your savory and sweet tongue. And their drinks are both beautiful and tasty. I was worried the mexican dish wouldn’t match my tastes but it was great.

Delightful vegan parfait! I’m biased because it’s my daughter’s first ever parfait. She has food allergies and the staff were careful and attentive to that. Friendly service too. THANK YOU for putting a huge smile on her face!

The desserts were okay, given that vegan options are hard to find in Japan (although the parfait had too much cream to my liking). Be careful that you cannot share a set, so you need to order separately and eat all the items in your set by yourself. As for the service, the staff is polite but struggle with English. They also don't confirm what you have ordered. In our case, the server billed items in our dessert set (dessert and drink) separately even though we clearly specified we want the set option (that's cheaper than buying separate items). She said that we can order one set for one person only so I decided to not eat anything there (not everyone can eat a dessert and drink something sweet at the same time by themselves). I told her that the set is only for my partner and I'm not having anything. She said that she understood the order but when we received the bill, we got to know that she billed the dessert and drink as separate items (not as a set) and we had to pay more. She looked apologetic and said sorry when I pointed this out but she didn't reissue the bill with the prices of what we actually ordered, even though there was a misunderstanding at her end. Eventually, we got another staff member to correct our bill but the whole experience left a bad taste. Will probably not visit again.

To this day, still my favorite plant-based dessert place in Shinjuku! I’ve pretty much had everything on the menu at this point and nothing has disappointed. Parfaits are beautiful, balanced and delicious. Not too sweet and has great textures! Lunches are also flavorful and menu changes all the time to keep it interesting. Awesome spot!

Yelp
This place was SO good! I was on the hunt for a vegan parfait, and came across this place on google. To my surprise, they had full vegan set menus. So we decided to get dinner there that evening. We went more near the end of the night, so we got seated right away. I am unsure if you would need a reservation at busier times. My husband ordered the soy meat plate, and I got the vegan curry option. He was a huge fan of the soy meat, it was tasty and really well flavored. The consistency was really nice and left him feeling really full. My vegan curry was delicious and just what I was looking for after a long day of walking around. Our group had non-veg people in it, who ordered some of the other dishes and really enjoyed them as well! But the main reason we came to Wired BonBon was for the parfaits. And, wow, am I glad we did! My husband got the berry parfait, and I got the matcha. His berry parfait was filled with different berries, and delicious add ons. The presentation was beautiful and the parfait was so good. The matcha that I ordered was one of the more enjoyable desserts I had on my trip. My mouth is watering now as I think about it! It was so good, there was jellies, soft serve, vegan yogurt, wafer crackers and more! There were so many little goodies that made each bite so fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend stopping here! And even if you're not a vegan, you should definitely try these parfaits!

Yelp
My favorite go-to-cafe for desserts with large group of friends (or by myself)! They have a few vegan options on the main (savory) menu: Vegan Curry and Truffle Fries. The dessert menu on the other hand, is ALL vegan-friendly. My friends, if you have not tried this cafe for their parfaits, you are missing out- vegan or not! If you are lucky, you will be seated with full view of the kitchen where the chefs create works of delicious art. I highly recommend the Matcha green tea parfait as it is loaded with rich matcha goodness, mochi balls, jelly, ice cream, and sweet red bean paste! Bring your friends or a sweet tooth. This place is open until 10:30pm with the last order taken at 10:00pm. Great place for meet-ups, dates, and just self-love!
