The 30 Best Restaurants in Munich, Germany | Eater

"This easygoing pub in the hip district of Westend stands out for its drink selection. Working with some of Munich’s best craft breweries — including Tilmans Biere and Hopfenhäcker Brauerei — manager Johann Eder offers an ever-changing selection on tap and in bottles. You’ll also find single-malt whiskey Slyrs, which is distilled in the Alpine foothills. You can pair your booze with some comforting grub, including veal goulash or fleischpflanzerl (pan-fried meatballs). If you turn up when it’s busy, you may end up at a shared table — an ideal opportunity to exchange notes on the different beers." - Kate Mann

we had dinner here with prior reservation and were very pleased with both the food and the atmosphere. We ordered the local dish gröstl and vegetarian option the tomato dumplings, and both were served with a side salad. We were very happy and satisfied with the dishes.

Fantastic food. Great service (even for tourists!). Wish we had time to return again. It was a local recommendation for us and we are so grateful!

WOW!! There is an authentic German restaurant back in Phoenix, Arizona but that can't touch this place. Not only was the best German food I've ever had in my life, it was truly one of the best overall meals I've ever had. I've been to a couple of Michelin stared restaurants in Ireland and I would choose this place over those any day. I'm impressed with the service as well, the guys were super nice and accommodating to me being an English only speaker. Thank you all so much.

Friends make everything better. What a comfortable restaurant serving up amazing food. Their beer offering is unique and so tasty. A great mix of traditional Bavarian favorites with enough character to have this place stand out.

A cozy Bavarian Wirtshaus offering delicious, hearty food with a concise, meat-heavy menu complemented by 2-3 vegetarian options and a fish dish. The Fleischpflanzerl were juicy and perfectly seasoned. The pretzel dumpling had a great consistency and was ideal for soaking up the creamy mushroom sauce it was paired with. The standout dish was the fire-smoked salmon, which had a rich smoky aroma and warm, earthy flavors - truly memorable. The restaurant was bustling and fully booked, and unfortunately the service didn't seem quite able to cope. Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive despite being asked for our order multiple times by different servers. The food, though, was served promptly after ordering. Overall, a great spot for authentic Bavarian cuisine, but be prepared for a potential wait during busy times.

Very nice place with a good range of food and drinks on the menu and all of it tasted really good. Nice staff, fluent in both German and English. We got four meals between five people and it was a good amount of food. Really nice location with lots of outdoor seating in a quiet street.

A local place that we happened to stumbled upon. Very cozy atmosphere, and you can tell most people there are frequent customers by the vibe. The wait staffs are super friendly and nice, always smiling and eager to help out. We tried the classic Bavarian food - i had the schweinebraten which is pig with very crunchy skin, eaten with potato dumpling and gravy, while my friend had the 2 wurst and classic Germany pickled salad. They are sooo sooo delicious, and you can tell it's local and homey and on point. This is such a precious little place with good food and good people and you feel right at home with the locals. So nice.

Yelp
Neighborhood restaurant and traditional food. Tried the roar pork and pork and potatoes. Very filling and very good. Also really enjoyed the beef broth and cheese spread. Good beer as well.
