Google
An absolute must when in Lexington, KY. Great place for fun ciders and gluten free foods. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful when selecting cider flight and when ensuring food order was gluten free. They were very generous with samples and they were also so much fun to talk with. We met the owner Greta and she was so great. Wish we were local to support them more often. Great patio and lots of seating choices. Kid friendly outdoor space. Lots of games to play and air hockey table.

PNW

Google
Friendly staff. Many ciders available to try and they offer unique cider cocktails. Lots of places to sit both inside and outside. They have games and an area for little ones. Their food truck was great and offered some gluten free options.

Google
I've had the cider around Lexington, but it had been quite a while since I'd stopped into Wise Bird proper. We tried a couple of flights last night and it was a great experience! We were able to ask some questions and learn a bit, have delicious cider, and enjoy the great atmosphere. With indoor and outdoor seating, games, and tasty food options (gluten free), it's a great spot to hang out.

Brian Curlin

Google
Very nice place to relax and grab some homemade cider. They offer a wide variety of delicious flavors, and the BBQ is absolutely incredible—tender, juicy, and melts in your mouth. Highly recommended!

Google
Wow. Ya’ll need some new employees… The guy working Saturday night 4/19/2025 wearing a camo shirt and a safety pin nose ring was extremely rude, unprofessional, and very unwelcoming. We came in at 10:20, he said last call was in 10 minutes so we went ahead and ordered a flight. We went back 2 minutes later to order one that we enjoyed, he would not serve us anymore. The hours on Google and the door says 11:00 PM. He would not serve us a cider slush because he said he turned the machine off 30 minutes ago. He also said after we were in there for 2 minutes he couldn’t serve anymore disregarding the fact that he had just told us 10 minutes.

Google
This place is pretty cool! I really enjoyed the Pomme Pomme drink of theirs! Chill atmosphere with really nice staff.

Google
Really enjoyed the different ciders. We loved sitting outside by the apple trees. What a great experience!!

Google
Excellent cider and vibes in the distillery district. All three of the ciders I sampled were delicious, and the staff was incredibly helpful and kind. They even walked out in the rain with an umbrella to get my food for me from the food truck when I got caught without my own. The fries and cider cheese were delicious. A must stop if you love ciders ❤️

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch and started with two cider flights. Tried three of the dry ciders and three of the semi-sweet ciders. We only liked a couple of the ciders, the Pomme Pomme and the Royal Red. The Pommeau was pretty good, but even for a dessert cider it was super sweet. The ones on top were mainly drys, which we do not lean towards. Did brisket tacos and a smashed burger with fries for lunch. Tacos had nice cuts of brisket with really flavorful barbecue sauce, which wasn't too thick, along with corn, onions and poblanos. Fries were really good. They were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a nice seasoning. Smashed burger was one of the best I've ever had and moist without being greasy. The bun was soft the lettuce and the pickles were fresh and the sauce was really flavorful. There were seats at the bar and all around the rest, along with a few games to play. Outdoor seating was plentiful, but it was rainy and cold, so we sat inside. The bartender was very sweet and friendly.

Yelp
Great place to come sit down with friends and enjoy some food and drinks. Staff is friendly and service is timely. Definitely love their Burger Week Burger it was a great combination of sweet and savory, also loved their sangria.

Yelp
Lots of options for cider lovers if you need something different than the bourbon trail. Large space, inside and out. Only bummer outside is that the wasps love cider, too! My daughter and I shared a 3-taster flight since we were stopping in a road trip. We tried the pomme pomme, the royal red, and the browning orchard. The browning orchard was my least favorite. I preferred the semi-sweet pomme pomme. If we'd had more time, I definitely would have sampled more. Service was efficient.

Yelp
I love Wise Bird cider, but also really appreciate they have non/alcoholic options! Always great service and love the outdoor, dog-friendly patio!
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
Great spot to enjoy with friends. I had a cider flight including the cherry and rose. Lots of seating options including some comfy couches and chairs in the corner and patio. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
google avatar

Jaewon K.

Yelp
Ciders are refreshing, taste great, and the selection is diverse. They have a great indoor and outdoor seating area with a nearby food truck as well. I would argue the volume you get is pretty small compared to the price. Trivia on Sundays is always fun

Yelp
Service was amazing! It was quick and we had a nice time chatting with the bartender. The inside had open doors since it was warm out and created a nice environment. We also had food from their food truck which was the perfect snack to have while enjoying our drinks!

Les R.

Yelp
Always a good time at Wise Bird. I hung out for 3 1/2 hours while my wife visited a friend in the hospital. The staff was really helpful and very friendly. The cider is fantastic - and I drink a lot of cider. I got to try some new things that I hadn't had the last time I ordered dinner from the food truck that they run out front and it was excellent. It's a good place to be anytime but the best time to be there is when the weather is warm and you can sit outside with cider slushies.

Yelp
I scoped out the businesses in the Distillery District to see if I wanted to check any of e before the show I was attending at The Burl (across the street). Of the several breweries and distillery, this cidery piqued my interest. A historic rickhouse (place you age bourbon), the space has an airy, industrial feel. You order at the bar and can either sit there or take your drinks to a nearby table or outside space. Traveling solo, I sat at the bar and chatted with the bartenders who were very friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings. They were out of mulled cider which was a let down for so early (7:30 pm) on a cold, rainy night. So I went with the Somethin' Sweet flight for $12. I enjoyed trying out the four offerings and liked all but the seasonal sangria. The cran-apple-ness wasn't my thing. Plenty of parking (except on a sold out site night at a The Burl) and close access to several other places to eat and drink. I'll definitely return to check out a few of their neighbors and have some more of their delicious product!

Yelp
Since my wife and I are avid "Birders" we had to check this place out with a name like Wise Bird. Located in the Pepper Distillery District, a small family run business that believes apples make great ciders. My wife is gluten free and cider is what she generally drinks. She had the Pomme Pomme Sangria that had notes of baked apple and vanilla. Nothing great but still refreshing. I am not a cider lover I ordered a beer. I was surprised how reluctant the server was and kept pushing me to try "their " cider which is unlike any other. I did and still wanted a beer. She finally handed me a can of Ol Buddy Lager not even asking if I wanted a glass. You pay at the bar and sit wherever you like. There is no music or any kind of atmosphere inside that made us want to stay. There are many other places in the area that I wish I would have chosen over Wise Bird.

Tyson M.

Yelp
THEY HAVE A FULL SERVICE BAR IF YOU DONT LIKE CIDER! Amazing food, even better staff/welcome to ALL, and delicious cider that makes national brands put to shame. If hesitate, you should try if you have a taste for white wine. A very chill place that can get loud when busy, but has lots of chill creek vibes if you need a break from the noise. If you don't know what to order they have numerous flights/staff recommendations!
google avatar

Hannah E.

Yelp
Walked here in terrible weather only to find out they're closed (I think?). There's two signs on the door with different opening hours, and the hours from there vary to both Yelp and Google... When I tried to open the door, three people inside just stared at me. So I guess they're closed? Really wish someone could've had the courage to come apologize to me and tell me they're closed. Even better, update your hours so people don't waste their time.
google avatar

Carson C.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere of this cute cidery. Also as someone that is gluten free, it's nice to have a cidery that I can go to that's local! Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Brian V.

Yelp
Good place for cider. They use Buffalo Trace Distillery barrels to age some of their ciders. The aged Rose is tasty and 10%! That's some strong cider. The server Ryan was very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting.
google avatar

Evan F.

Yelp
Looking for a relaxed, chill vibey spot for drinks and made a light nosh? This is probably your groove! We ordered a couple of cider sampler trays, a charcuterie board and my wife got to play "pyro" for a spell as we sat outside enjoying the crisp air, a warm fire and some good eats and drinks. Fun place and we hope to return on a future Lexington trip!

Sarah C.

Yelp
Y'all. Listen, I have spent YEARS in the service industry, lived all over the east side of this country and traveled the world, and let me tell you, this place *knows* how to not only make a DELICIOUS high quality product, but honestly even more than that THEY KNOW HOW TO GRACIOUSLY TREAT THE FOLKS WHO GIVE THEM MONEY. This little thing called excellent customer service is sadly a *rare* and precious gift these days. And for a place to be nailing it at both? Well, that's gold, baby. Update: specifically Heather and Tim are absolute gems.

Yelp
Main takeaways: -Tasty. -Dry. -Great service. Let me expound: My favorite way to spend a day is a long hike, followed by refueling with greasy food while day drinking. I also love trying new things and new places. So after a few hours at Raven Run, and a brief stop in at a winery, we were ready for some hard cider. There are a couple cider breweries in Lexington, and I had yet to visit Wise Bird. Also, I recognized the area where the address was and I knew there were some food options in the Distillery common sort of area. After a stop to get some food, we made our way across the parking lot to Wise Bird. Currently, Wise Bird seems to be the only business in the strip of storefronts it inhabits, so it wasn't nearly as busy as the rest of the spots in the area. That shouldn't stop you from going in! I opted for a flight of what appears to be their flagship offerings. There was confusion here because there were some options that were out of stock, and the menu listed a different price on the laminated paper than what appeared on the chalkboard menu, and both were different than what the actual price was when I asked and was ultimately charged. If you are concerned...pay attention, notice, and ask before you order. That said, I got to try 3 ciders. Theirs run on the dry side, which is not my usual preference. But I love trying new things! Our server was great! Friendly, happy to explain the difference between the ciders, and full of information on upcoming offerings and soon-to-open restaurants in the area. $9 for a flight of three seems a bit price-y, and full glasses are a little on the higher priced side. But the samples in the flight are amply sized, not just tiny little sips. We enjoyed our visit here, despite the price confusion. And I am keen to visit again, having heard of their upcoming collaborations with the nearby distilleries and breweries. Particularly if you like dry ciders, this is the spot for you. If you prefer sweeter ones, or more variety...Pivot is a nearby option. But this is a decent option, and a great addition to the selection of things in the general area where it is located.
google avatar

Olwen C.

Yelp
Honestly, I think Pivot is much better as far as cider goes. I don't really know anything about cider, but they don't have very exciting flavors here. The pours are on the small side, 8 oz or so, and still like $6 or $7. Again, pivot has them beat by far.
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
Interesting concept with the food truck parked outside. I love this area, I wish I lived in KY, because I'd visit here all the time. There is so much to do and different places to eat at. The food was very good, especially the fries. The sauce on the burger was a bit much, it's a large portion for a small burger so you probably need to adjust based on your taste. I'm not a huge fan of a can of coke for the drink, but it is what it is. I assume they just want everyone to drink their Cider. It's a good family atmosphere and worth it to check out.
google avatar

Rai A.

Yelp
So accommodating and nice! We enjoyed our time here for a date night. They have warm drinks, cocktails and a food truck. The seating is indoors or outdoors, fair prices as well.
google avatar

Dee H.

Yelp
Popped in for a quick drink after dinner and dessert. Echoing others who have said that the vibe is cool and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Outside space has lots of games and tons of room to spread out. Don't be shy - ask questions, get recs, and try something new. Tons of fun options and something for every palate. Looking forward to a takeaway bottle at my next visit.
google avatar

Brittney K.

Yelp
I've been to Wise Bird a few times but the most recent visit was my first during Covid. They are offering table service and have a small sign that you flip if you need anything, which I thought was a great idea. My friend and I ordered the hot mulled cider and it was delicious. It was the perfect winter drink! They currently have a heated tent for anyone interested although I'm not sure how long they will have it. I've tried a flight of ciders on a previous visit and hope to do this again on my next visit.
google avatar

Alexis B.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by for some cider while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. We got a flight of everything that wasn't sold out, and we really liked everything. I definitely prefer cider on the drier side, and I really enjoyed three of the four ciders in our flight. This was also a very different experience from other cideries I've been to go because their ciders were all apple-based! No other fruit-based cider. It's a big space, and the cider was good! A fun place to kill a little time waiting for a table!
google avatar

Janet S.

Yelp
Happy to have another local cider offering in Lexington! This venue is right by Fusion brewing, right in the distillery district. I had a flight of their ciders and all were great, we even got a growler to go! They also have a few local beers from other breweries on tap, and even cider mimosas and cider slushees! Really cool place!
google avatar

Mariya G.

Yelp
I am so excited that there's a new cider place in town! Tonight was their grand opening and they had a live band outside which was so fun! My husband and I split a flight of their flagship ciders ( 4 of them for $11); Harrison was my favorite. They also had cider slushies which is a perfect summer drink (adds some raspberries to the drink). They also have some board games and outside seating (dog friendly) definitely check it out if you're in the neighborhood!
google avatar

Jeremy R.

Yelp
Wise Bird is a wonderful addition to the distillery district. If you're like me and don't like beer, but love cider, then this is the place for you! Granted, for beer lovers, they do have some beer offerings as well. Wise Bird ciders selection are terrific. I tried the Hidden Creek and it was delicious. They offer flights as well so you can sample a variety. There is plenty of seating for groups. They have garage doors that open up during warm months which makes it even larger. Also, they have a magnificent patio area!
google avatar

Meghan G.

Yelp
We love craft beer but decided to stop on and check this place out. The variety Of ciders were amazing and they are really, really well done. I love that there are a lot of dry and semi-dry options. The space is gorgeous as well. We can't wait to come back and try more as they come online. And don't forget to check out the frozen cider, too.
google avatar

Nicki H.

Yelp
We went here on a Saturday to watch the kentucky game, and were so surprised how much we loved the place. Such a fun weekend spot to come play games with friends. They had a few TVS playing the UK game, and then lots of games you could bring to your table. We played Jenga, but we saw other tables playing Uno, board games, and cards. We all got their flight deal, 3 pours for $8. This is the best deal! They are very generous on the pours and you can try tons of different ciders. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Jeremy M.

Yelp
I want to start by saying that, while I can appreciate a cider, I am a beer drinker instead. Wise Bird has greatly impressed me though. I have tried all of their ciders and can say that I am a fan. The taste, but also the quality, of their ciders is above what I imagined possible for a new cidery. They are a place you definitely want to try!
google avatar

Aaron K.

Yelp
Tim and his crew are serious about the craft of cidermaking: single varietals, blends, pommeaus (pommeaux?), and even a rosé slushy if you're feeling festive and summery -- which, aren't we all during this joy of a pandemic summer? Well, you might as well. They have a taped off distanced taproom and a LOT of outdoor seating, all of which is marked with a green or red label to let you know it's been sanitized between patrons. Nobody likes the "new normal," but man is it refreshing (and comforting) to be able to go out and enjoy a drink or two without being consumed with paranoia. So yeah, thank you Wise Bird crew. OK, all that said, the ciders are great. They have Annie Proulx's book behind the counter. They actively source apples from multiple states. They have a bottle subscription model (that includes 2 free drinks in the taproom per month). I mean, how many cideries are there out there? Think about it for a few minutes... Well, Lexington has one, and it's a serious operation in a beautiful space in the Distillery District. If you haven't gone yet, get yourself out of the house (mask up!) and distance yourself on Wise Bird's patio with a cider or two. You won't regret it.
google avatar

Nick H.

Yelp
The most amazing cider house only surpassed by their unbelievable bartenders. Not only were they able to help us with our incredible selections, they gave us in depth descriptions and history of the cider house, owners, apples used and more. It was like a guided tour with drinks. They also educated us on Lexington and other surroundings. We were so impressed, that when asking for merch, our bartender went around looking for a hat I had requested. When finding zero... and potentially striking out, he gave me the hat off his own head! I swear... he removed the amazing hat I wanted, gave it to me off his head and apologized for not having anymore. Who does that? The customer service here has to be the greatest I've ever seen. We felt welcomed. We felt like a warm Kentucky Hug. This is the greatest damn cider house around, don't miss it. You'll be forever regretting your decision. I wish I could give Wise Bird 6 stars...
google avatar

Savannah H.

Yelp
Wise Bird is one of my favorite spots in the Distillery District- delicious cider and super friendly and knowledgeable staff! If you want to learn about cider and apples, they are here to teach you a lot! If you just want to drink some cider, you can do that too. The inside is gorgeous and the light fixtures and big garagey windows are very instagram friendly. Try a flight if you've never been here and you can taste the difference the apple varieties make. They also make frosé slushies, sangria, and mulled cider, season depending. The cheese board is a great value and we always have to get one when we hang out! Plenty of outdoor seating right now and they do offer pickup and delivery if that's more your speed!
google avatar

Christian C.

Yelp
My fiancé and I love Wise Bird! Such great ciders and friendly staff! Every time we show up the staff knows us by name and really make us feel welcomed. We also come every Wednesday with our coworkers to play trivia! Great place to meet friends and relax. My personal favorite ciders are the pomme pomme and the rosé.
google avatar

Allie M.

Yelp
Cider is great, a good variety of dry and sweet. I really liked the rosé cider slushee too! Went for Schitt's Creek trivia and had a lot of fun. Ordered wings (photo included) and they were so good and crispy with really delicious Asian dipping sauce. Plenty of outdoor seating under shade tent or in the sun.
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
Wise Bird is so good! The cider and food are delicious and they're currently selling mulling spices to make your own mulled cider at home. Definitely try the Pomme Pomme and the apple grilled cheese sandwich-you won't be disappointed! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, too!
google avatar

Tamika J.

Yelp
Friday I met up with some friends and I really didn't know what to do expect. I looked on yelp and saw slushes, but they no longer have the slushy machine. I saw sangria, that was not an option either. I opted for a raspberry cider and it was good. It was on sweeter side and I enjoyed it. They brought in a chef. I didn't purchase anything, but the people in my group said they enjoyed it. Very bare bones place.
google avatar

Austin S.

Yelp
This is a cute new cider bar in the distillery district! I love the space and the big tables. The staff is very friendly and the owner is super knowledgeable about their ciders. I personally am not a huge cider fan but most of their ciders are very dry which I love! On the other hand, my boyfriend who loves ciders didn't particularly care for them because they weren't very sweet. I love the location, the staff, and the space. Definitely check it out if you're in the distillery district
google avatar

Bhavik G.

Yelp
It seems that my wife and I always visit this place when they are not busy and it's raining outside. We actually came here for a collaboration they had with IP&J Cuban Food but also got a cider each. I like that they had all their ciders listed on the wall along with their dryness level. If that didn't help they were also more than willing to let you try a cider.
google avatar

Kim N.

Yelp
Did you even know that you NEEDED a cider slushee this summer? I didn't, until I tried one here yesterday. It was delicious and now I think I am going to want one every day. Lexington's newest cidery is awesome - they have a beautiful, modern aesthetic that is warmed up with jars of fresh flowers on all the tables. They also have a huge outdoor area with covered tables and game areas. And they are dog-friendly (inside and out) which means I will be back a lot for sure. Their house-made ciders are a little different than what I'm used to - they are very dry. But they are interesting and I like the ones that resemble a light wine. You can get a flight of four of their house ciders for $11 and this is a great deal for the pour size and the high alcohol content of the ciders. But my favorite is the cider slushee which is made with a sweeter cider and topped with raspberries and basil. SO refreshing! Love that they have a small selection of food (the charcuterie plate is great, but it could use a few more crackers) as well as food trucks outside. Service was great and everyone was friendly and willing to explain what their ciders are about. Can't wait to return!
google avatar

MaryChris F.

Yelp
What a cute little place!!!! They have about 8 ciders to pick from. They also have sangria as well. Some of their ciders are very sweet while others are dry. It's like a wine tasting with a twist! I got the traditional flight that is pre picked and loved it. You can also pick your flight though! cheers!!!!!
google avatar

Leah T.

Yelp
I stopped by wise bird cider and tried their flight all 3 of the ciders in the flight were delicious you can't go wrong. The staff was fantastic and gave great suggestions! And the have a fantastic space and patio area!
google avatar

Annie M.

Yelp
Went here on Sunday with a group of friends. I tried the cider flight, sampled the slushie and shared a few carafes of sangria with friends. Everything was phenomenal. They had games and a water table for kids. The service was top notch and the bathrooms were clean. Neat indoor and outdoor spaces. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Jen S.

Yelp
This new spot is a really nice, adult hang out space. The atmosphere is casual, but slightly upscale. I love the murals on the wall and the bar looking out the open windows. The people are great and very knowledgeable. My favorite thing was the cider slushy...what a great idea! It was a hot day when we visited, so it was a welcome treat on a hot day (and it was delicious!). The only complaint I have is the wine sized pours that they do for the normal ciders. They charge what others charge for a pint, but you don't get anywhere near that much. If they fix that, then this place will be perfect. Either way, though, I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yong G.

Yelp
I agree with the previous post that the atmosphere and space are both very nice. The space is very open, seating is plentiful, and it has a very calm, relaxing vibe. My issue is with the price of the cider. I was very surprised at how little cider you get for the $6-8 per glass price. I certainly didn't measure, but while the menu says 8 ounces, I would say that no more than 6 ounces were in the glasses we ordered. I'm sorry, but $12-16 for a pint of hard cider is just too much for me.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere! Came here for a kids event and I'm glad we did. Served goodfellas pizza, delicious and serve different cider wine.
google avatar

Sarah O.

Yelp
What a neat cider brewery! Ambience/cleanliness is great with indoor/outdoor options to sit. Went next door to Goodfellas for pizza and brought it over to enjoy with our cider. Tried a flight and the slushie #whatcouldbetter. Would love to see sweeter options in the future!!
google avatar

Ali A.

Yelp
This place was great. I haven't tried many ciders before and this was a great experience to broaden my horizons :p I love everything I tried! It was also a clean, cute, and unique environment. Definitely recommend
google avatar

Megan W.

Yelp
The space is great- super relaxing and beautiful, and the outdoor area is perfect to enjoy drinks while kids play. I had the cider slushee, which lived up to my expectations. My friends got flights, which they didn't love. I love cider because I have to- I have to go gluten free, so I'm always happy to find ciders. Unfortunately, all the ciders on the flight today were pretty dry, and mostly tasted the same. I like flights that offer a little more variety. Still, the staff was super friendly and the space was great. I'll definitely go again.
google avatar

Miranda Y.

Yelp
Do you like cider or wine?! RUN to Wise Bird. We came here for a friend's birthday and I was in love! The pomme pomme and the rosé slushie were aaaahmazing and they had good pretzels too
