Wiston Estate Winery and Chalk Restaurant

Delicious tasting menu on a Saturday night... we recently celebrated my fianceé's birthday at Chalk and we had a fantastic time. All the staff were very friendly. The food was fantastic and the wines were delicious too. The trout and the chocolate dessert were the star dishes for me. Also... definitely add the cheese course as they were outstanding. We will return! Thank you!

The food and the service is the best I have had in years. Thank you so much for a great afternoon lunch. We turned up 3pm just as lunch was service was finishing at 3pm. Not a problem for the chef or the Maitre d. Everything was perfect. Not many places do you get both amazing food and service. Thank you

Well, we were excited to go to Chalk and I’m now thinking why did I leave it so long before I did? This place is next level. We organised a lunchtime meal to celebrate the hard work of the staff in our Sales team. Having pre-ordered, we sat down at 1:15 and the food came out which was absolutely stunning and totally delicious. Our waitress was highly trained and very friendly and the entire team looked like they were enjoying giving great service. As you would imagine, the Wiston wine range was available and we enjoyed the sparkling pink NV. We also highly rate the Valpolicella, which was good value for money and delicious. For any occasion or a special occasion, Chalk is undoubtedly a place to celebrate your occasion.

Went to a wine tour and tasting with my wife on my birthday. £30.00 per person for 1.50hr session. The guide and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Interesting introductory talk about the history of the family-owned Winery and vineyard followed by a tour. This was followed by a tasting of 4 sparkling wines. Very good value. We then went to the Chalk cafe for a light lunch.

Absolutely amazing experience at Wiston Winery - the most beautiful setting and team of people. The tour itself was both fun and informative (Candice is such a brilliant guide), wonderful wine tasting and finished with another bottle (couldn’t get enough!) and some delicious bread / olives at Chalk. Couldn’t recommend more!

What an amazing experience. We did the tour and tasting followed by lunch at the Chalk. We also had the chance to do one of the self guided walks in the area. Very informative tour and lovely family story. Very delicious wines during the tasting. The whole winery is decorated really nicely. The Chalk is such a nice restaurant. Great local produce, beautifully presented and just delicious. My favorite ones were the focaccia (must try) and the trout. The service was great, super friendly staff, very helpful and we sat across the kitchen, so we were lucky to see how the dishes were carefully assembled. Such a great gem!

Good wine, food and drinks. Food was well prepared. For most fine dine restaurants, a basket of bread could have been served in the beginning, I pondered. Quality of food was marvellous and it is, therefore, worth re-visiting.

The winery, tour, and wines are absolutely fantastic, and their gin was one of the best that I've tasted. To compliment the tasting I arranged to have lunch at their restaurant Chalk before driving back to the city. Located in beautifully remodeled stone building at the sparkling wine house of Wiston, Chalk has a star chef creating beautiful dishes from their garden and neighboring farms, all pairing beautifully with their wines. The bar program and extensive wine list offer a lovely opportunity to venture beyond their wines, although after driving all that way it seems a shame to not exclusively drink their offerings. Highlights include the Hen of the Woods gnocchi, Chicken liver parfait with Wiston Rose and Elderflower Jelly, and the white peach and almond tart with lemon verbena ice cream. 50B
