Great coffee, not so yummy chai latte. Very friendly girl attended us - always good to have positivity specially at hard times like these. We love sitting by the window to grab a frame of the bypassers going to/from Candem Passage. Pastries were tasty and fresh. Stop by and watch this part of the world go by. Coolness alert: they have a SWAP BOOK station - take your already read books to their store, and swap it for new ones. They have nice titles, make sure yours are good as well;-)

AVOID at all cost! While having a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon I’ve decided to grab myself a cup of coffee before heading home. I looked online and walked past a few that were incredibly busy. Eventually I walked past appestat which was about 70% full so I thought I’d get myself a drink and possibly a bite and sit for a bit. The cashier’s service was close to none. While I was greeting her and saying please and thank you, she didn’t even put on a smile or respond with equal manner. After I paid for my flat white I decided I want a salted caramel brownie as well and she said £3.65. I was quite shocked and asked “oh the brownie is £3.65 itself?” And she said “yeah” with a look like what do you expect? Anyway I paid for it and looked to a seat. She later sent my coffee and I also asked for a take out bag as I can’t finish my brownie after finishing my flat white in three sips. She had not smiled, or even said no problem and bye when I said thank you and please. Brownie was the fudgy type and was of good quality but it’s just ridiculously expensive. I could make a dozen of those with £5 using top quality ingredients. Flat white was okay and tinier than in other shops. The environment is dark and not very comfy. Am I too spoiled by other cafes I’ve been around london? I don’t know, but I would not recommend this place and would never be back. Service and value for money is a lot better even in chained coffee shops I’m not kidding.

It is an amazing place and the service is great. Unfortunately, they dont have wifi internet and I had to use hotspot to connect my laptop which was really slow. The environment is very cosy and engaging. Loved the chamomile tea and the tables. I was surprised they do offer table service although it requires order ahead. Totally recommend for either a quite day or an entertaining one. Its a place for everyone

Great little Cafe. The owner and staff are genuinely beautiful people. The clientele are super interesting- a cross section of musicians, film makers and writers and of course a cast of other characters. A warm welcoming environment. I know for sure they are planning to do a lot of exciting events after lock-down so this is a place to watch. Places like Appestat are what make Islington and for that matter London special. Wonderful reminder of how great people can be in a time of so much anger - love this place (tap the picture to hear the great music these two proper gentlemen improvised)

Food was tasty but portion was a little meagre. My complaints are that the poached eggs were overly done, and my iced mocha was tasteless as it was diluted. Otherwise, friendly staff, chill cafe and good choice of music.

Very nice cafe and an excellent breakfast. Staff are very nice. The seating arrangements could be better.

Consistently great coffee prepared with care by the owner. In a competitive area for coffee shops I keep coming back here, enough said.
