Where To Have Breakfast For Dinner - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Witness is a Southern bar with delicious cocktails that feels like it belongs smack in the middle of Georgia - just with less pollen and sweet tea going on. They also happen to have the best chicken and waffles in the city. You want to fight us on that one? Back off." - Aimee Rizzo

Where To Eat When You’re Having A Bad Week - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Witness is slightly more upscale than Fat’s, and serves the best chicken and waffles in the city - only downside is, it takes more effort to get in. Once you’re here, though, you can also eat honey butter hush puppies and pimento cheese poutine with bacon gravy. We’re jealous already." - Aimee Rizzo

Amazing. I had the fried pickles and chicken and waffles. Everything was made to perfection. The breading on the pickles was just perfect and the tender chicken with the perfectly browned waffles was something I will be back to order. Great service and cocktail from the bartender. It was a warm, sunny afternoon so they had the front of the restaurant open which made for great people watching.

Great cocktails, great food! 4 stars vs 5 just because it’s not the “best” shrimp & grits or chicken & waffles I’ve had, but still pretty good. The beignets were hot and fresh though!

Really enjoyed our dinner here tonight. The service, food, and drinks were really good! For what you get, it’s definitely a good value. I really like how they have happy hour all week 4-6pm! While it was good, it wasn’t out of this world which is usually what I reserve 5 stars for. I would come back and recommend it to others, but it wouldn’t be at the top of my list.

Witness might actually have some of the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever eaten. The chicken is extremely soft on the inside but the crust is crispy and well seasoned and delicious on the outside. Not to forget the light, fluffy waffles that go surprisingly well with the chicken. Fantastic. We didn’t have to wait and service was quick and efficient. Must try place

Wow I must say I’ve been craving chicken and waffles for a long time. I’m so glad I tried it at Witness! No reservations were needed on a Thursday evening. The place had a nice vibe and the staff were very welcoming. The menu was easy to read, very simple. The food took longer than expected but when it came I was ready to eat! They have big portion sizes and everything was great, from the fries, the chicken, and the waffles. I don’t know who could finish all of this! The chicken was not dry, definitely had great seasoning and the outside was perfect crispy. Waffles were soft and delicious. I’d definitely come back!

A Pleasant Surprise on Capitol Hill! My friend wanted soul food last night and he’s from The South. I just kept my mouth shut and let him pick from a list I found on The Google. I’m glad he chose Witness. The vibe of the place was really nice with our comfy booth that looked like it was made from a church pew. The rest of the place was well appointed as well even with the plexiglass dividers used between booths. Service was friendly and not rushed. Even though we had to wait a tad for our food (pandemic time, folks) it was worth it. Our food showed up and fed us well. Chicken and waffles were plentiful and delicious. Mac and cheese was creamy and good but a bit too gooey for me (not a huge issue though). The brussel sprouts were amazing. Just enough of everything on them to make you want to eat them every night. Beignets came to end the meal. Delicious and fresh. For the 2+ hours my friend and I spent there, it felt like a great night out with a new friend.

Wonderful brunch experience here today. Friendly professional staff and great food. Chicken and waffles we're wonderful. Light crispy hash browns and homemade breakfast sausage. I'll be back soon.

As they don't take reservations and wanting to have brunch pre-Sounders, we arrived on a Saturday before 10am. We were quickly seated when they opened and within 30 minutes it filled with other Sounders fans. We had a house made mocktail, Sazerac and the Cards Don't Lie cocktail to drink. The presentation was impressive. Note: the card is yours to keep if you order "The Cards..." 🍹! The server and bartender were upbeat and friendly. We each enjoyed our order of biscuits & gravy, shrimp & grits and BLTs which had a nice garlic aioli. The grits were not abundant, but the sauce was flavorful. . Positive experience overall. Paid street parking in the Capital Hill area.
