"This classic Mid City dive bar always has the game on, serves some of the best wings in town, and offers all kinds of beers on tap. What’s not to like?" - Eater Staff

"This classic Mid City dive bar boasts a game-changing menu of wings that dare to be baked, not fried. The accent is Italian at Wit’s Inn, with pesto wings as one of the more unusual flavor combos. The wing flavors cross over to the pizza menu, with Buffalo chicken pizza a perennial favorite. Plus, the game is always on, and there are all kinds of beers on tap. What’s not to like?" - Beth D'Addono, Clair Lorell

They no longer have pizza, wings or anything on the menu I saw online before going. They have a catfish basket and maybe chicken fingers and THAT'S IT. Sad. Looked good. But not good and very empty. And the waitress had on a P-Diddy shirt!

Google
Food was fantastic, and a decent value for the money. Had the muffaleta, Cajun pizza, and two specialty drinks. Pizza was loaded with toppings and the mufalleta was perfectly toasted. The Witmaker beverage is SO tasty! This was a delicious low-key meal. Highly recommend if you are looking to pay less and still eat well. Staff was super friendly, too. Thanks Wits Inn!

We were drunk and craving pizza in the middle of the night and this place solved all our problems. Was open pretty late and the pizza was delicious and didn’t disappoint. We will come back.

Google
Was ignored by all the employees. Bartender was on her phone she looked right at us shook her head and went right back to her phone. I can now see why all the bad reviews. We definitely did not feel welcome here at all. There are way to many other establishments in New Orleans to deal with that. Good luck hope you succeed.

Wit's Inn has a relaxing atmosphere. Everyone was kind and attentive during our dining experience.

Google
Friendly neighborhood bar, pretty good pub food. Service can be slow at night if 6 or 8 in your group, but, good bar.

Chuck Patch

Google
This bar is close to our home. It is extremely loud, and its patrons routinely carry on tailgate parties throughout our neighborhood with very loud music, loud arguments and sometimes fights until 4 AM on 2 to 4 nights a week. Please don't patronize this neighborhood nuisance.

Google
We stopped in for a quick drink. We didn’t realize they weren’t quite open yet, but they were nice enough to serve us anyway.

Dana G.

Yelp
I enjoyed my time with family and friends here !! I would recommend if you want to watch the game and listen to music

Melissa S.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years but it's been about year since I last came in. Food was just as good as ever. Bartender was the worst I've ever had - too busy on her phone, hanging out outside or with her friend at the bar to do anything resembling her job. Don't know what happened but I won't be going back inside. I'll stick to Uber eats!

Thomas B.

Yelp
Two very small shots of Crown and two Miller Lites in the can, $40. Who bought Wit's in? This is horrible, I used to love coming here.

Marisol D.

Yelp
Went here for the first time the other day for dinner & they had these 2 DJs. They was rollin so hard had to ask them they names. Hope that's a regular thing because it definitely made me a returning customer. Great environment. Pizza was great too!

Yelp
Yet another mysterious disappearing review Yelp has unleashed on me so where did my old review go...??? This is a dive bar and grill type joint in Mid-City that can get pretty rowdy during athletic events. Thursday is $5 pizza night and that is a popular time in here as well. I have only sampled the pizza here and honestly it isn't my favorite pizza but it is edible so for $5 it is also a good deal. The service has always been relatively decent here and they get your drinks to you fast enough. There always seems to be a decent crowd in here and they serve food later than most other joints in the area. If you are in Mid-City this is a decent spot to check out.

Sherrie H.

Yelp
I've looked up the hours and you are supposed to open at 11:30am. I just went by at 1pm and the door was locked. I'm sick of trying to eat there. You people are never there.

Yelp
IGNORE ANY REVIEWS PRIOR TO NOVEMBER 2022. THIS BAR HAS NEW MANAGEMENT This is a long review. The bottom line is that this bar is now poorly run. The food isn't as good, the Hip Hop music extremely loud, and the staff (one person in particular) is unfriendly. Nothing seems to run smoothly. This neighborhood institution is a shadow of what it once was. Everyone loved Witt's Inn. We used to have events and week night happy hours. These were well attended. That won't be happening again I had a poor experience on both recent visits to the bar. Both were pizza pick ups. What could go wrong, right? The first time I visited, the bar was almost empty. I made eye contact, and waved to the bartender when I arrived. She was deep in conversation, with another employee. I figured that it might be a management meeting or something. So I took a seat, and waited. Both employees actively ignored me. Glancing over a couple of times. After about ten minutes, I got up to leave. The bartender (the one with strange hair, one side blond, the other brown) finally came over to see what I needed. She was openly annoyed. Weird. I told her, and she came back with my now room temperature pizza. I didn't say anything, but I left pretty annoyed myself. I withheld writing a review. New owners, and one unfriendly employee. I didn't want to trash them. So I let it go. Give them some time to pull it together. Second visit. I was watching LSU women's Elite Eight game, with my family. I tried to call in a pizza order by phone, but no one was picking up. Their web site said that their preferred ordering platform was the Slice app. So I downloaded the app, and placed my order. I tried to time it for a half time pick up. I was texted that the pizza would be ready at 7:07 PM. Perfect timing. I headed over. The two toned hair bartender was there, and seemed to again be in a foul mood. I avoided her. I grabbed the other bartender, (a very nice young African American women) to let her know that I was there for my pick up. While she checked, I receive a text that my pizza was ready. I passed the time by counting how many times F*** was said on the blasting sound system. After about ten minutes, there seemed to be an issue. The young woman came out, and said they were confused. She said something about it being the fault of a new cook, and then something wrong in the app. But told me that all was okay. As she walked away, I asked if they had even started making it. She kept walking. So was it the app? Was it the "new cook"? Was it all a lie? After hanging out for another half hour, I gave up. I canceled on the app. The nice young woman had left by now, so told the Two Tone woman that I was canceling, and why. She shrugged dismissively, and said "it sounds like you arrived when I did" No apology, no explanation. She seemed annoyed, and she didn't want to hear it. So I went home. I missed watching almost the entire second half with my family. All told, I was out of my home for about an hour. And came back without a pizza. So I ordered one from restaurant across the street and picked it up after the game. Simple. Never again. This place is so disorganized. I don't think it will last. There weren't that many folks there. It shouldn't have so difficult. And the attitude of the two tone bartender is a little puzzling. My wife and I are nice people. We try to be kind to everyone. But this woman doesn't seem to realize that she is in the "hospitality" industry. I haven't experienced this kind of angst since my daughters were young teens. But at least they grew out of it. The new management has to realize that the wait staff is the face of your business. Some people in New Orleans will even follow a favorite bartender from bar to bar. What affect is her nasty attitude having on your business? It can't be helpful. Since the new ownership, there have been only a few reviews. Several with one star, and more with two or three. Two mention staff. Another mentions this same particular bartender. Coincidence?

Yelp
Loved this place. The atmosphere and food give you lowkey, neighborhood bar feels. The wings and pizza are a must if you go!! Trust me. Great place to hangout, pregame with your girls, or go out on a date- especially Friday's. That's comedy night and karaoke night!!

Yelp
May 18, 2023 - WARNING!!!! An employee made an unauthorized charge of $45.13 on my husband's credit card using the chip reader. We paid our bill using the same credit card, it was swiped and we signed the receipt and left a 20% tip. We have a copy of that receipt. No one ever answers the phone. They do not reply to FB messages. We have addressed with credit card company and have to file a police report because the "management" is not addressing the issue. There was a tall male and two ladies behind the bar. The tall male waited on us, we sat at the bar and had a pizza. There was a really creepy vibe in the place, but my husband wanted to do something different and revisit an old Thursday night pizza/watering hole, so I put on my big girl panties and pushed thru. The pizza took forever, which allowed me to really scope out my surroundings and notice the really sketchy people hanging outside the side door that would venture in and out giving us a whiff of weed with every opening and closing of the door. So, if you like being the victim of a thief, like smelling weed while you eat a mediocre pizza, like very loud music, and like testing your sixth sense - this is your place to visit on a Thursday night.

Yelp
Ordered the bbq shrimp po boy and that's definitely not what I received. Instead I got plain cold baby shrimp with big chunks of garlic that's not even edible. I'm from New Orleans and anyone from the city knows dam well this is not a bbq shrimp sandwich y'all need to shut down for this bs

Pam J.

Yelp
I had a grea time here the other night with friends . The drinks were on point and the food was just as delicious! Cant wait to go back , gonna put this place in heavy rotation every time I'm in the city

Yelp
Delicious pizza and great vibes! Good service as well. I will definitely be going back.

Coco C.

Yelp
Good food. Great atmosphere. Friendly service. I will definitely return for comedy night and karaoke!

Kamelya H.

Yelp
I had such a great time at comedy night I stayed out past my bedtime for karaoke. The wings and pizza are amazing and the best bartender in the planet was serving drinks. It's giving....weekly hang out spot for locals. Very diverse and welcoming,

Duane R.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere, great food, and great service. Uptown Monsoon... cold beer, great pizza.

Mira P.

Yelp
Quaint dive bar with great service! We came here late night during the week for some wings and love the fact that they are baked! The jalapeño bbq flavor was the best on the wings. And we were surprised about the pizza, wow, talk about delicious sourdough like crust! It was so good and we found out that it's made daily in the am at an off site location. Next time we will be doubling up on the meat toppings. Love the fact it's open late night and they serve simple bar food. They also have a great bartender who can make some good drinks, we also got a couple of bottles of wine which were affordable. Great dive bar ambience with some cool jams playing in the background and if you feel like throwing some darts around they have a board in the back along with some video games. All about the wings, pizza and drinks here! And the service.

Gwen G.

Yelp
Have had two horrible experiences at this place prior to this. Someone said they had new management, and since we live around the corner we decided third time may be the charm. Terrible service. Took over an hour to get two pizzas and two appetizers, one of which was a Caesar salad. Food was mediocre at best. Two of the four of our group have woken up with terrible stomach pains. Never again will I eat here.

Robert F.

Yelp
First and foremost I love wordplay... so the name in and of itself got me to go here. The town in New Orleans... and finding some delicious food... just ain't hard! Everywhere you turn... but! I am from the mid-west and occasionally all that Cajun food makes me wish to take a step back home... to the days of hanging out at a bar and watching the game... and wings... delicious juicy chicken or Buffalo wings. Wit's Inn is the one and only place I have found down in the Big Easy that can give me that taste of Sunday afternoons. The beer pours great here... and the staff has always been not only attentive and helpful... but talkative. They treat you like you are a friend. The menu is bar food... but they ensure that it is all delicious before it comes from the kitchen. Stop by this place... play a round of pool... watch the game. And enjoy the wings... then tell me all about it. I don't get to make it there near enough as I am not in Saint's land often. Thanx for reading and keep eatin!

Lauren N.

Yelp
Hour wait for an undercooked pizza. Charged an extra 75 cents for the coke in a vodka diet. Really, y'all? Not to mention the musty smelling window AC and sticky table tops. Hard pass!

Brandon H.

Yelp
If you're looking for a cool place in New Orleans to eat pizza, wings, and bar food while watching sports or enjoying comedy or karaoke, then this local bar is the spot for you. The food is really good and they have big screens to watch sports games while you eat. They also have comedy nights and karaoke, so you can have fun with your friends. The people who work there are friendly and the whole place has a great atmosphere. Overall, it's a great place to go with your friends for good food and good times!

Paisley M.

Yelp
Went in for pizza and it was pretty good. I got the Buffalo chicken pizza with a salad. The bartender was pretty nice as well. Only thing wrong was the fact that that I didn't taste enough of the Buffalo flavor.

Rico S.

Yelp
Ordered the Meatball Sandwich for delivery, description: "Meatballs, mozzarella and marinara" - pictured was what came (minus a bite for good measure). Very disappointing, if you have a problem with deliveries then don't offer them - if you have a problem cooking what's on your menu then close the kitchen. The side pasta was nice so 2/5 stars, will not eat here (or from here) again. Edit/Update: I ended up getting a bad case of food poisoning on top of all this, so avoid this place like the plague

Taryn V.

Yelp
Always a solid spot. Diverse crowd and good food & drinks. Pizza is always solid and the servers are friendly.

Anthony Z.

Yelp
Great neighborhood bar and pizza place. Their specialty pizzas are high quality. Although pizza is their claim to fame, they do have sandwich options as well.

Eureeka S.

Yelp
I wandered in during lunch for a different dining experience in Mid-City. I wound up being pleased with what I found. I started off with a simple, but yummy Caesar Salad (standard fare), then followed up with Baked Buffalo Wings & Pesto Wings. The Baked Buffalo Wings had some sort of rub on them & were decadent. The Pesto Wings were pretty good, too. Will definitely revisit for lunch, as I'm sure that, being primarily a bar, this place gets rowdy at night.

Geneva H.

Yelp
Great spot to hang with friends. I just had the buffalo pizza....A-MAZ-ING!! I'm drinking the Monsoon, it's the bees knees! I'm half way through so I can't write an in-depth review. So buy one!!

John L. H.

Yelp
Wit's Inn is a cool, laid back bar. It isn't often that I get to go out in the city anymore. Thankfully my local bar expert suggested this bar. It was late on a Saturday night and the bar was nearly empty. While smoking is allowed, it wasn't overpowering considering how few people were in the bar. The bartender was cool and attentive. He did refill my beer without me asking, but that's better than the alternative. The bar wasn't too loud and would be a good place to hang out and talk to others. Loud bars are overrated anyway. If I am in Mid City again, I would return.

Cat B.

Yelp
Sadly my nursing friends & I arrived to grab some food & play some music. Every black artist except Michael Jackson & Whitney Houston had been filtered out of the jukebox.... ok cool. Prior to our arrival we called & were told the kitchen stopped taking orders at 10:30. At 10:20 We approched the bar to order our food before it closed & were told the kitchen was closed. I even showed my watch & stated we called prior to coming so we could order food. The bartender refused to take our order. I overlooked the jukebox (maybe the owner doesn't like r&b, jazz, soul......) but there was no excuse for the kitchen to close on us early. Im sorry but I would never return. Im sure they wont care but I will be sure to pass this on to my family & friend as well. Smh.

Ronnard G.

Yelp
BUYER BEWARE! I AM CERTAIN MY WHISKEY WAS FAKE OR CUT WITH SOMETHING For the second time I have visited this establishment against my personal preference because I have friends that love a good neighborhood dive bar. However, this isn't really either of those. This is the second time I've ordered a premium level whiskey and received something I knew was "less than". I know my whiskey and I drink this at home enough to know what it smells and taste like. The Blanton's Single Barrel that I ordered and tasted back in October and again in January is not Blanton's Single Barrel. Either the bar bought a bad bottle (doubt it) or someone poured a lesser costing bourbon in it to make some money. When I asked the bartender all he knows is that he poured it from a Blanton's Bottle. Buyer Beware!

Dominique C.

Yelp
Great place to go and have a drink . Their signature drinks are pretty strong. I had two of the signature drinks- forgot what they were called but I was good that whole night lol

Mariana P.

Yelp
Yeah go for the service, anthem late night Amazing food! I've tried a lot and reviewed this and that. look Don't think barbecue pizza is barbecue freaking pizza with barbecue sauce it is not we are in New Orleans it is barbecue freaking pizza barbecue shrimp pizza our way so deal with it and ask questions if you don't know or look at the photo and get a grip. Period

Nick L.

Yelp
Great place to watch a ball game. Great place to get a drink, if you drink. They had root beer, which I enjoyed. The bar food is not something I would go for again. It took the food a long time and I could tell it was pre-packaged food. I had the spinach/artichoke dip and a pizza. For a city that is known for food, I would happily go there for the bar scene.

Emily L.

Yelp
Ah Wit's...you're such a wonderful staple bar. Easy to hang out, great drink prices, enjoyable and varied menu, friendly staff...and you'll never run out of toilet paper! One of the best things about this bar is that on your birthday, you get a free bar tab. Seriously, free. (Just no shots.) Bring a bunch of friends and let them relish the fact that they don't have to buy your drinks! My favorite menu item is by far the chile con queso. The chips are ample and the ingredients that top the warm cheese are fresh. The chicken tender fritters are a close second (get 'em with the buffalo-blue-cheese sauce). The pizza is always a hit as well. You can get giant beers, in their souvenir cups for amazing prices. They have plenty of TV's, so you'll never miss a touchdown. Outdoor seating, and plenty of room for groups. Fun chalk-board walls in the ladies room...and did I mention you'll never run out of toiet paper? This is one of those bars that has become a favorite since the smoking ban.

Kenneth S.

Yelp
Pesto Wings and pizza are the best! Sometimes the kitchen closes early but still a good place.

Marielle S.

Yelp
I could have sworn that I had reviewed Wit's Inn, but here we are. Anyway, I love this place! Not only is it a fantastic place to watch a Saints game, but they make delicious bloody Marys and have fantastic pizza. The crowd is more of a neighborhood krewe, but I have always found people here super friendly and fun. Whenever I go I usually sit at the bar, but they have plenty of tables and chairs if that isn't your thing. The crowd gets rowdy during Saints games, so come with your game face on.

Daniel D.

Yelp
The bar and atmosphere get four stars. The bartenders get only 2 stars. Came here to watch a playoff game and this place wasn't busy at all, yet the bartender(s) seemed to be WAY out of their element. Food that was ordered during the first quarter was brought out during the fourth. Food that was ordered before everyone elses was brought out after everyone else ordered and recieved their food. Drink orders were totally forgot and still charged to the card and they just left my buddies atm card on the bar for 30 minutes, which was asked for to start a tab. You should probably treat this place as a cash only bar. On a side note, the sliced meatball poboy and the pesto wings were really good. The chips and queso were garbage though. The exact same stuff you find at the gas stations, except you pay double.

Arielle N.

Yelp
Carmella was such a welcoming bartender. Overall, great place to have some brews. Have the pizza and add ricotta, you won't regret it!

David G.

Yelp
I'm a sports dude so I love the array of tvs to watch whatever game floats your boat. Strong drinks and pretty darn good bar food. Really enjoyed my pesto salad. I bet the pesto wings are the bomb, sauce is made in house. And they got darts, love me some darts. I'll be back (Schwarzenegger voice)

Danon H.

Yelp
I still don't know why I haven't reviewed this pizza place yet. I have been here several times already. But anyways here we go! The food here is pretty good. This place specializes in hand tossed pizza. They got all kinds of options as far as pizza goes. Veggie options for all you veg heads out there. Of course they serve meat too for omnivores like me. I noticed that this place serves sandwiches but I have yet to try those. The service here is alright. The bartenders I dealt with were pretty cool. One of the bartenders looks sort of like guitarist Kerry King from Slayer. I will admit that the food prep does take a while though. They got a full bar here as well as lots of TV's to watch sports events. The drinks are in the medium price range. The pizza on the other hand is pretty pricey. I mean $13.95 for a 10 inch pizza. But I guess you get what you pay for. In short good food, decent service, but a little on the pricey side.

Jessica R.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by this bar. Can't remember the last time that's happened... They have Blueberry Stoli, and, I believe, food. What more do you need? Pool table? Sure. Best part: it's in Mid-City.

Tiff D.

Yelp
The pizza is delish. I got the Hawaiian (see pic). It was loaded with toppings, the crust is perfect. The center was a bit wet and soggy. Other than that it was a perfect pizza.

Regine M.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem on on Carrollton . The atmosphere is great filled with laughter and good times. In my personal experience, the customer service is good. The bartender was really nice. The bahama mama was really good. The pineapple on top really adds sweetness to the beverage. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves pizza and drinks.....it is awesome!

Stacie D.

Yelp
This is a place I would walk by and wouldn't realize how much of a gem this place is. The signature long islands are great and the pizza! The meat meat and more meat might be the best pizza I've ever had. All my friends ordered food in drinks that they very much enjoyed also.

Aaron M.

Yelp
Very gangster wings. Delish BBQ shrimp sandwich. Excellent service. I would definitely recommend.

Rick F.

Yelp
We have been back in New Orleans for almost six years, and had heard of this place. Finding ourselves nearby and hungry, we parked on the side-street and walked up to the door. An employee opened the door, and this massively horrible odor hit us from inside. I choked and inquired "Is there smoking inside?" The employee nodded in the affirmative, and I immediately backed-out. This odor seemed a mix of old tobacco smoke, grease, urine, and I can't imagine what else. I wouldn't ever eat anything which came out of such a hell-hole ! I say, try Venezia, right across the street; or, Mandina's, three blocks away on Canal. We won't ever go back to Witt's Inn ! Rick

Tara F.

Yelp
This is definitely a "where everybody knows your name" type of bar. Nice space, not smoky. Just overall a great feel. We sat the bar with Mat helping us. He was very nice and attentive. We had the famous monsoon and the Whitmaker. Both drinks were Devine with the monsoon being the strongest one. We also tried the buffalo chicken pizza. It was quite easily one of the best pizzas I've had. Honestly speaking, I looked at a few other people's dishes and was thoroughly impressed. I can't wait to get here for another grown person's night out!

Lisa M.

Yelp
Great place to go if you love wondering if you are on Punk'd. There is a uniform story among many of my local friends who have stopped going there of a beyond inhospitable bartender who serves horrible tasting wine and beer then debates you when you say there's something wrong with it; food orders taking forever then being wrong when they finally get to you, then more debate from the bartender, then you are just, like, check please so I can get the heck out of this bad dream, then the guy disappears for 10-15 minutes (mind you in an EMPTY joint) - I actually had to go find the bartender to ASK to pay, while he reamed out the kitchen staff - and no joke, a woman friend of mine was actually PURSUED by the bartender INTO THE STREET because she didn't tip him - until she got in her car and he banged on her car window until three guys got him to leave her alone. Btw this was early on a week night and no one was drunk.

NewOrleans 1.

Yelp
Well this is no fancy place at all but there is a large menu and the food is good ,Very laid back atmosphere . Patrick is the bartender and he made the best Long Island Tea I have ever had and OMG I had to go back twice just to have another. Way 2 Got Patrick. It's a good place for good drinks at reasonable prices.

Sean O.

Yelp
I went back here for the first time in almost 20 years and it was just as great as I remember. Very friendly crowd and a great bartender. Got a pizza to go and it was amazing.
