The Best MICHELIN Guide Hotels in Istanbul

"While other Istanbul hotels emphasize the city’s ties to antiquity, Witt Istanbul Suites is every inch the ultra-modern contemporary-design boutique hotel. Formerly an ad agency HQ, it’s close by to the central business district, as well as some of the best shopping, dining and nightlife in this modern quarter." - MICHELIN Guide

"With only 18 rooms and a room-to-staff ratio of one-to-one, this funky design hotel offers personalized service that makes guests feel as if they’re staying at an ultra-stylish friend’s home. Outfitted to feel like a slice of New York City loft-apartment living, Witt Istanbul ’s rooms have snubbed the Ottoman aesthetic in favor of retro-modern furniture that showcases the best of Turkish design. Beds are covered with luxurious local Denizli linens, while oversized gray marble bathrooms pay tribute to the traditional Turkish bath and also feature walk-in rain showers big enough for two. Breakfast here is an organic feast of local produce that includes handmade jams and honey from the hives of Bodrum. Guests are encouraged to indulge in a lazy morning with the hotel’s breakfast-in-bed service. Some rooms also have small kitchenette areas, while any guest who’s suffering from restaurant fatigue can order from a local restaurant for a quiet night in."

Well-appointed room, exceptional views, attentive service, tasty breakfast, all in a great location. This hotel is situated in what seemed like one of the most charming neighborhoods in Istanbul, with lively restaurants and cafes and within close walking distance to public transportation and key sites. We had a long panoramic, which was huge and had amazing views of the city, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Galata Tower, and Bosphorus. Breakfast was varied and tasty. One word of caution: the hotel is situated on a steep hill, so if you have mobility challenges it may not be the best choice for you.

We stayed twice in Room 62 for 8 nights and then 3 nights, with an interim trip to Malta. The view over the strait and towards Galata Tower, the old town and views to the Asian side from the terrace were amazing! King Panoramic suite with Terrace is the name.|The room included a comfortable bed, sofa seating, cutlery and mini bar area and a large bathroom. The hotel is kept spick snd span and all the staff work hard to keep the place happy for visitors. We loved the location close to the tram stop at the bottom of the hill, and surrounding narrow streets with small shops and businesses. It’s a lively more residential neighborhood and hence much quieter than being in Sultanahmet. We walked everywhere, clocking up regular 10-15 km daily! We booked the hotel’s airport transfer, while more expensive than a regular taxi, the man waiting for us at Istanbul Airport was on time and the trip relatively quick at 45 minutes.|I would recommend this hotel as it’s convenient walking access to the major sites, quiet and very well maintained. Thank you to all! |.

A boutique hotel up the hill from Istanbul but easy to get into town and cross the bridge to see all the sights - Mosques; Palaces; The Grand Bazaar. Lots of great restaurants and bars close to the hotel at a pretty good price. The room in the hotel was quirky and good, and the service very friendly and helpful. A good breakfast! Would definitely recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Witt. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, surrounded with good restaurants and in an exceptionally good location to all the sites. The view was fantastic from the Bosphorous, Hagia Sophia up the Golden Horn to Galata Tower. Even more fantastic was the exceptional service and staff. Warm, always helpful and very customer oriented, it was obvious they worked to make guests happy. Breakfast was better than wonderful with extensive buffets as well as made to order eggs and coffee drinks. Highly recommend this well run and beautiful Hotel.

What a lovely hotel. We stayed there 5 nights and were sad to go. We were there in the off season but the hotel was very quiet we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The breakfast was great, I looked forward to it every morning. The hotel is stylish and hip, the room is very spacious. The neighborhood is great. It is the hip, artsy neighborhood of Istanbul. Like others have said it is on a steep hill, I’m a runner and it got my heart going. That being said I saw locals pushing strollers up it and older folks powering up it. Next time I am in Istanbul I definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located in nice area where there are a lot of young local people, cafes, shops, restaurants. It’s not 100% tourists which is what we were looking for. We walked everywhere and there is a tram close to the hotel. Our room had the most beautiful view on Istanbul. I could not stop staring at the magical scenery from morning to evening. If you can pick a room with a view it is really worth it. The hotel is clean, modern, lovely staff and delicious breakfast. We loved it. You need to climb the street to get there but the cardio was good after all the baklavas we ate.

This hotel|Has it all! Great location (close to tram which is 10 mins from main sights) surrounded by fabulous restaurants, antique shops, Turkish design shops. We had incredible views from our room (from our bed). The attention to detail on the room was fabulous (molten brown toiletries, well stocked minibar) cool furniture. Will recommend to all our friends.

A really great hotel in a terrific position. In Karakoy between Istanbul Modern and Pera areas. The surrounding streets feel very local. Great restaurants nearby and easy walk into Pera. Staff are so kind and lovely. Breakfast is great. Rooms are spacious and have everything you need. Very good value for money.

Yelp
I should probably branch out and stay in another hotel in Istanbul but the Witt is pretty perfect so it's hard for me to consider straying from it. The rooms are spacious and feature plenty of room to work and eat and socialize. I dig the Molton Brown bath products, complimentary mineral water and the tiny little brownies they leave for you each day under a glass housing. There are many reasons to love the Witt, here are a few of mine: LOCATION The Witt is located in Instanbul's chic Cihangir neighbourhood (full of cafes and, incidentally, homeless cats) and within striking distance to Taksim Square and the Old City. BREAKFAST Even if you don't take a morning meal at home, you'll want one the one included in the room rate here. The choices are boundless - eggs, fruit, cheese, toast, yogurt, fresh juice, coffee, tea - and you can eat either in the lobby or have breakfast brought to your room (at no extra charge). STAFF Everyone who works at the Witt is kind, helpful and friendly. They assisted me with all sorts of requests: a car to the airport, a cup of tea, directions, food delivered late at night. And always with a smile! LOBBY I took countless meetings in the stylish lobby of the Witt. It's a really comfortable spot and I always felt happy to be there. I'm sure the staff wondered about my revolving door of guests but they never let on and offered each one a beverage upon arrival. I stay in lots of hotels for work. The Witt's one I'd be happy to spend my own money on, and a place I'd refer to any friend visiting Istanbul.

Yelp
I have been to Istanbul three times now and during my first trip, I stayed at the Witt Hotel, which came highly recommended. The other two times, I stayed at other hotels, just because I had the urge to try out new places, but I have to admit that nothing was as good as the Witt Hotel - not even close! (In fact, I have recommended this place to three other people by now and they all liked it as well.) What I really like about this hotel is the amount of space that you have in each room...and that for about the same price as in other hotels, where you get tiny rooms! On top of that, the rooms are really nicely decorated and have all the amenities that you could wish for: nice toiletries, coffee maker, kitchenette, etc. Additionally, the staff at the Witt Hotel is extremely helpful and goes above and beyond to make you stay as comfortable as possible. One minor thing though: while the Istanbul summers are really hot, I found that they overdid it with the AC in the lobby a little. I always had to bring a light sweater, when I wanted to sit there.

Yelp
An impeccable property - from the well-executed lounge breakfast we received upon arrival to the reliable shuttle service for our departure. There are just little touches that many others have mentioned that really made an impression on my hubby and I: - Nespresso machine and pods for guests' enjoyment - Complimentary glass-bottles of mineral water - Multiple turndowns that include refilling the mineral water and the Nespresso pods - Bar alcohol is very reasonably priced per bottle - 23" iMac downstairs for everyone's use - Molton Brown shower products Add all those to a very comfortable bed, clean linens and fluffy robes, and you are looking at an excellent stay in Istanbul.

Yelp
Spent a week here during Thanksgiving holiday. The hotel was recommended by friends and we owe them a dinner for it. What a great place. The rooms were spacious, the breakfast buffet fresh and local, the staff so helpful and friendly. Advance emails to arrange airport transportation and other questions were promptly answered by Volcan. The location is just a short walk to many great restaurants (Mellow, Journey, Colonie). A short walk to Taksim Square and Itikslal Street for shopping. Also, an easy 30 minute walk to Sultanahmet. Location - check. Friendliness - check. Boutique luxury - check. When I return to Istanbul this will be the place to stay again.

Yelp
Beautiful morning, amazing view from the top floor balcony rooms. Service is nice. Location is central, but on a very steep street. To catch the train across to the old town is long climb down and back up to return.
