We had a 5.15pm booking for 4 people. We had 3 courses. The food won’t blow you away, it was average for the prices they are charging. I expected a lot better. The most bizarre part was the service. It was very poor. The restaurant was 1/3 full and we waited ages for a drink, then ages for our starters. After waiting 40 minutes for our mains, we politely started to make enquiries only to be told that our food was being ‘plated up’. Fast forward 20 minutes and it eventually turned up. The plates must have been some distance from the Chef. We then had desserts and whilst finishing said course, the waiting staff had the people who had our table next stand by us, which made us all feel quite uncomfortable. Clearly, something went wrong but nobody spoke to us about it and they made their problems, ours. Which was not on. The waiting staff then thought it was acceptable to put a 10% service charge on our bill, which we refused. As we went to leave, I tried to catch the attention of one of the waiting staff to discuss the matter, but at that moment they all made sure they were very busy. We had a booking for New Year’s Day but we didn’t bother going back. We found somewhere much better and that’s what I’d advise you to do.

Location good for a base if you have car to get out and about. Very few footpaths due to country lanes so be mindful if you planning on walks. |Room comfortable and had all we needed, mini fridge with fresh milk lovely touch. Access to room via outside stairs which were well lit. A table and chairs outside room overlooking garden lovely views. |Food we booked dinner b and b very limited menu. So recommend you check before booking . For me the beef wasn’t cooked enough and the overall temperature of my meal was a little on the cool side, I like my food hot, it was a good selection and well presented, my dessert was a bit tasteless again personally opinion. Breakfast good quality and freshly cooked. |It was a bit chilly in the bar and very quiet, it was my birthday and had intended having a couple of drinks but didn’t stay after eating. |Staff all polite and professional. |Value - a little overpriced compared to others in the group. |I would stay again but check the evening menu before booking .and wear an extra jumper.

Lovely place to stay in a super location and very dog friendly with excellent breakfasts. The White room was a good size and although above the bar you didn’t hear it, you did hear the road which was a little busier than expected at times. Room itself was in good condition and super comfy bed but some of the paintwork was tired and the shower although nice could do with a deep clean around the tiles and door. We ate twice and the food was very nice but the menu was limited and most things with chips. I would stay again and recommend but it could do with being just a little cheaper so more comparable to other places we have stayed in the area. Also after looking at my receipts back home disappointed to see both a £1 donation and 10% service charge added to all food and drinks.

Fabulous stay at The Wiveton Bell My husband and I stayed at the weekend joining my brother and his wife and another couple to celebrate my brother’s 60th birthday. From the moment we arrived on the Friday afternoon we experienced a warm welcome, friendliness and “can do” attitude from the staff. We ate both nights in the restaurant and the meals were delicious. On the Friday, Niamh and Eva looked after us and everything was en pointe. Saturday morning, my brother and wife were late to breakfast but that did not throw the staff. Mikey was fantastic in topping us up with tea and coffee whilst we waited and we never felt that they were anxious that we were at breakfast at the end of the service. Lisa too took our orders and 6 delicious breakfast were served. In the evening, Holly and Eva looked after us and again nothing too much trouble in the busy restaurant. Our three bedrooms were lovely. Everything needed for a comfortable stay. A fridge in each room with fresh milk and a carafe of fresh water. We slept well both nights. Our thanks go to The Wiveton Bell staff for making the weekend so special. You were Outstanding! Kerry and Duncan

We are regular annual visitors for many years and have previously always been very impressed. However, today’s Sunday Lunch left us dissatisfied. Multiple dishes didn’t come as described but with no mention they would be different. Service lacked warmth and was slow - we ordered starters and mains, and each took 40 minutes to arrive, without notice of a busy kitchen or apology. The food was fairly tasty but not enough to make us inclined to return.

Came for an anniversary meal, sat waiting in the crowded bar looking at our vacant table for 15 mins. Was told it wasn't busy 'just a normal sunday' we ordered starters and mains, the staff asked if we wanted the children's food to come out with the starters which was a great idea! However after starters we were sat waiting for around an hour to get our mains so the kids were getting restless anyway. Food was okay, not worth the wait, expensive for what you got (one slice of beef?!) seems like they need more staff especially in the kitchen anyway. Not worth a visit, not on a Sunday anyway.

One of our favourite places in the world, has a real cosy homely vibe whilst also providing exquisite food! Never been disappointed with a meal or a stay there and always look forward to our next - a real sanctuary. Have recommended to many friends and all have loved it 🫶🏻

We've stayed in this area, numerous times over the past few years but have only just come across this little gem of a place. We had a wonderful dinner here. The food was delicious and could tell it was cooked to order. Service was excellent with great staff. We booked for a Monday evening, mid October but don't think we needed to, however, I can imagine this place gets fully booked up well in advance of school holidays and local festivities so take this into consideration. We will definitely come back and will book a room next time as they look fabulous and well worth the price in comparison to other local establishments in the area. Thoroughly recommend 👌

Yelp
Visited as part of a large and free-spending group of mum's and dads in the area for a 40th. The menu read promisingly, but a number of items proved a disappointment- for example, the lobster croquet on the special was pretty unspectacular ( £7 ) , visibly containing lobster ( good so far) but basically tasting of herby mash not shellfish ( the end effect being supermarket fish cake) . Burgers were solid - a bit too solid, truth be told, and could usefully have been lightened with a bit of onion to make them more friable and less like a hockey puck. Caesar salad was pronounced good. Fish and chips ( haddock or plaice as I recall) looked pretty good. Didn't much like the evil looks we got from the waiting staff, having had to wait a while for some members of the party.

Yelp
Me and my fiancée went here tonight for her birthday, all I can say is that it was well worth the 30min drive!! I won a voucher for a meal for 2, and was blown away by the friendliness of the staff, and the quality of the food. The starters were prepared to perfection (the haddock/prawn fish cakes were amazing). The steak for my main was cooked exactly as ordered (medium) and melted in the mouth, and the accompanying peppercorn sauce was delightful. For desert the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream was warm, moist and very sweet but not too sickly!! Perfect! I would highly recommend going here, I plan on coming back but will also bring my family and my fiancées family when they visit from London. Well deserved 5 stars.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Norfolk. The food is very good and excellent value for money, the place itself is in the country side and has a nice outdoor seating area. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience. All the ingredients are locally sourced, had both the cod and the pork belly which were delicious.

Yelp
My wife and i have recently returned from holiday in Norfolk, for a change we went to the bell for the first time, we were very glad that we did The food was excellant as was the service even though it was a busy lunchtime the staff were very attentive and he resturant was light and airy. The prices were reasonable and for a change from many pubs these days there were not lots of children running riot, perhaps we were just lucky. I wish that we could go back to the old days when children under 14 were not allowed into pubs but we can't unfortunately. I would advise all people that enjoy good food to try this place out and i would highly reccomend the sea bass

Yelp
Had 2 meals last week at The Bell. Affordable prices and decent Yetmans Ale as well. There is no problem if you just want to go in for a pint or two either, unlike some pubs you dont feel obliged to eat A better pub than some of its competitors.
