Woggy's Fish n Chips

Woggy's was unbelievable! They had the kindest owners, who gave us t shirts and hats. The food was incredible. Best fish-n-chips, fish tacos, and burritos ever. AND THE FRIES 😍 Would definitely recommend 100%. My son is super picky and he couldn't get enough of the chicken strips and fries!

We came 30 minutes before closing, and even though they were really busy, but they stayed open until 6 pm to finish all the orders. The service was friendly, the food was fresh and delicious, and the fact that they catch the fish themselves makes it even better. A wonderful spot with great people and amazing food. Highly recommend!

By far the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! Ordered it one time and had to keep coming back to try the whole menu. IT DIDNT DISSAPOINT. The owners are very friendly and the fish cooked is all caught by them locally! Baja tacos are really great or get the Finacho. Grace and Ivar are amazing people, definitely make this a first stop if you’re eating in gold beach!

Close your eyes and savor perfectly fried rockfish w cocktail sauce accompanied w delicious fries. Free lemon water. Add bacon laden clam chowder if you please. Indulgent? Add 2 slices of bacon for a dollar and coffee for $1.50. Oh and cranberry coleslaw w the fish and chips.

Incredible. Super kind people and they catch their own fish! Highly recommend the fish burrito. So flavorful! Great with food allergies too. Update: we came back the next day to get the same thing!! So so good. Blackened burrito this time, just as incredible!

The wait took a bit long, around 40 min but we got a free bowl of chili, clam chowder and free lemon water. 10/10 recommend. The fish burrito was super tasty and fresh too

I've been traveling for the past 6 months. This was one of the places I visited during my travels and I still talk about it to this day. The fish tacos were fantastic! On par and better than I've had in San Diego. The sauce and slaw on the tacos was delicious. The rockfish was fresh. They catch what they cook. When they run out, they catch some more! I also had their clam chowder which was thinner than I'm used to but I really really liked that. The fish and chips were also great. The tartar sauce was absolutely the best tasting tartar sauce I've had. It was not your classic tartar sauce. It's house made and delicious. Long wait (30+ minutes) but worth it. That's the only negative to it and would usually bring it down a star for me but the food was so good have to give it 5 stars. You can walk around the harbor to look at the ocean if you like. The day I visited, they also had a friendly dog that many customers played with while waiting. The dog was very cute and friendly and had toys nearby you could use to play with them. They have an outdoor hand washing station for public use. Only outdoor seating available. I ate in our van with a nice view of the water. Many people ate on the flatbed of their trucks. They also had some picnic tables.

I wanted some fish and chips and I've always wanted to try this food cart out. Nothing fancy. Outdoor seating and business shares a parking lot with a U-Haul rental business. Other reviews mentioned that their orders took a long time. Perhaps it's because I was there at 11:30 my wait time was o my 5 minutes. The weather was fantastic so it was easy to wait at a picnic table. The fish was good and tasted fresh. The breading was light so it didn't have the crunch usually associated with battered fish. I liked the fact that the fish wasn't just batter. The coleslaw and tartar sauce was fresh tasking. I'll be back.

Awesome portions super nice people and fantastic flavor. I'm not sure if the Cole slaw, the fish or my fries are my favorite... like it was all good!

If you have a long time to wait (35+ minutes when not busy during the week) - the food is good. The fish sandwich was excellent - it had too much sauce though and was extremely messy. The service wasn't great.

Let me start out by saying that the food was not 5 start but the fact that i enjoyed it so much made me give it the review it gets. My wife and I usually split an order of fish and chips and still never end up eating all the chips, we ordered a large fish's and chips to split, the folks seemed to be a husband and wife couple and playfully bantered. When my wife went to grab the food the lady mentioned that her husband had "big" hands since we were splitting it. We took it a few minutes up the road to a view point to eat. WOW, not only big hands but they had doubled all the extras even extra slaw, a few normal sized filets and a JUMBO piece, also loads of fries. My wife will only eat fried and battered fresh fish, it has to be crispy, the fish was pretty soggy, with that being said she eat it and could not believe that the fish was so good she could eat it even not being crispy. Delicious, kind, I'm going to be back and just ask for a little extra crisp .

Customer service bad attitude chased us away forever! Use to be our favorite place to eat. When I asked if they serve their tacos cold. I got jumped on by the blond lady with a rotten attitude coming unglued towards me. I could have over looked our cold tacos after waiting 45 minutes and driving from Brookings and back. The attitude was completely uncalled for! NEVER to return!!!!

Absolutely awesome fish and chips. Best we have had on the coast. Super fresh, super crisp, great fries, and an interesting person at the window. She was very friendly and informative regarding the business (how it got started, who is running it, etc. The wait was worth it and it was a beautiful day to sit outside by the beach. Highly recommend Woggy's. Worth the trip from Port Orford to Gold Beach just to have lunch there.

Amazing food, all the fish is fresh caught and you can taste it. The best fish I've had in a while, tender and tasty. The fish tacos were phenomenal and full of flavor, my partner got the fish and chips and even the fries were amazing. Incredibly friendly people who run the place and right by the water. Highly recommended.

We stopped for gas in Gold Beach and then asked for a lunch recommendation. Woggy's was at the top of the list and it did not disappoint. The Fish and chips, caught everyday, w/ a delicate batter and the most delicious tartar sauce made with sour cream and dill along with another home made cocktail sauce. Then coleslaw, again fresh and sweet and savory. So good. The owners are very friendly and offered for us to taste the clam chowder which was delicious, too. Not too heavy, but so flavorful. My husband got the tacos, which he said were amazing! We will stop back by on another trip through Gold Beach. You should too!

The fish was amazing! Really tasty and piping hot. I ordered 3 pieces for the two of us. The 2 piece meal would have been plenty. Portions are generous. Be prepared to wait though. It took a looooong time to get our order

The food is fantastic on this food truck. No matter what you get, it's going to be better than what you would get in any of the coastal restaurants in our area. I personally recommend their fish and chips, their fish tacos, and their shrimp tacos. That's what I order. Mostly. The slaw and the sauce that accompanies their dishes is fantastic as well and could be marketed in its own right.

Oh my goodness- in the past I have eaten fish tacos because my husband likes them- but at Woggys I went back for thirds! Grace made a recommendation for my specific diet restrictions and it was soo good! The people around me were amused as I are first lunch, second lunch and early dinner! I ordered 6 fish tacos because they were soooo delicious! I loved the grilled and the baja tacos with everything on it! We were visiting from california, even lived in San Diego known for taco tuesday and its fish tacos. San Diego fish tacos were okay- but these tacos took it to a whole new level! I had to come back again the next day and order them all over again! You wont believe this! The cook is the fisherman! His name is Ivar! He catches it and cooks it and I ate it! So fresh, so good! The locals recommended it and I am so glad we tried it! Only regret is not eating it everyday we were in the are. Grace is a sweetheart and knows everyone by name- remembers your order. Food is fresh and there is a line- because it is good- so good! My husband also had the fish and chips and clam chowder! If you like fresh fish and awesome fish tacos check it out! So affordable and so delicious. Dont take my word for it! Just try it!

Hands down the best fresh fish and chips ever!! We're from Florida visiting Oregon for the first time! Looked in Yelp for a good fresh fish place and WOW did Woggy''s come thru!! You order and you wait don't complain because this is the place for the freshest, hottest fish! The fries were beyond delicious too!! My daughter had the burger and that too was AMAZING!! If I can give them 10* I would! Don't even worry that it's a food truck--wish I lived here year round--I would be bringing take home everyday!!!

This establishment is a gem!! First and foremost the food is outstanding. Nothing soggy or cold. It's hot and fresh fresh fresh. We had the fish tacos, fish and chips and clam chowder. Everything was 5+ stars! We're from Monterey and we know seafood. Kudos Woggy's !!

Our culinary exploration of the Oregon coast continues. The other afternoon we hit up a popular food truck in town called Woggy's. It was our first time trying 'em and it will definitely not be our last! They catch their fish fresh every morning, sea to table in one move, it was so flaky and perfectly battered, in fact everything we ordered was top-notch, their clam chowder was so buttery and delicious I could've drank a quart, their pommes frites were probably the best I've ever tasted, paired with their house made tartar sauce? Chef's kiss! Not to mention the coleslaw, which was definitely the best I've ever had, it had cilantro and lime in it, it was so refreshing and summery. In fact we went back the next night just to pick up some fries, tartar and coleslaw to go with the fish sammie's we were making at home, in an attempt to recreate the meal. Yum and rahr!

Okay what a very nice surprise. This was by far the best Fish and chips I have had in a long time. The fish was crisp and so fresh lasting. Coleslaw relish as well. Fries we good also... maybe could have been crisper. But honestly a great meal. I would recommend finding this place. The staff were very friendly as well. I am looking forward to returning and trying something new. But could be I would go for the fish and chips again.

A real hidden gem of a spot Head off the main road and you will find the best fish and chips in town!! Really everything is good but I always get the same. Wonderful people who make great food! Even better on a sunny day.

Absolutely the best fish you'll have in gold beach hands down. It's a husband and wife team, the husband catches the fish and the wife fries it up. We eat here every chance we can.

Woggy's is one of the best food experiences you'll have on the Oregon coast. First, they have the best clam chowder of all the places we tried while traveling down the Oregon and California coast. Exceptional. The Baja fish tacos were on par to what you'd experience in Baja proper itself. The owner, Ivar catches the fish himself, (and sometimes works the fryer) while his wife Grace works the front counter and grill. The fries are fresh cut and better that what you get at In-N-Out. If you're in Gold Beach, go to Woggy's, you will not regret it.

Service was good. I had the fish and chips it was very good. I would have liked a little more spice but I know they are cooking for the general public and spice accordingly. Also be aware that it's a food truck setup with picnic tables so if you are adverse to eating outside then maybe not for you.

Let me start by saying my go to is definitely not fish and chips. But this place, is so dang good. I can't wait to come back. The fish and chips are lightly battered, not greasy whatsoever and just simply delicious. The fish is super fresh and is worth the wait. Also, the tartar sauce is bomb.

In such a quiet and pleasant place, you can eat a delicious burger and burrito. I really liked the service and maintenance. And I really liked that they make individual dishes for me. I don't eat fish, and they made me with chicken.

I really thought the fish burrito was delicious, I skipped the white sauce that supposedly makes the burrito all come together. They added cocktail sauce to mine , my brother had it as it came. We both loved it, another plus was the flour tortilla wasn't thick and nasty and you had fish in every bite. The wait was worth it.

Food and service are great ambience. You can go right to the beach very close to the Port Square.

I had the clam chowder & fish tacos. It was a delicious lunch and the outdoor seat was nice as well. I wouldn't call it spectacular but was pretty delicious. The chowder was fair, but the tacos were pretty amazing!

Woggy's is such a gem. This was my favorite stop on the Oregon coast thus far. The fish & chips were DELICIOUS! The homemade clam chowder was also immaculate. Solid flavor and beautiful aroma. The employees were very friendly, the pricing was fantastic, and the food was incredible. Absolutely recommend paying Woggy's a visit, just keep in mind everything is FRESH so it takes just a bit longer than the McDonald's drive thru. Enjoy!!

Saw all the great reviews so thought I would give this a try while in town. Had the fish tacos and chowder...wife had the fish and chips. Fish tasted bland...almost no seasoning in fish or batter. Tarter sauce was also meh. The chowder was good...but also light on flavor and seasoning. Not a horrible lunch but with all the previous yelp reviews we expected a lot more.

The fisherman who catches your fish may be cooking it. And it all happens within a day. This place is fresh af. Don't argue with me... order "FINACHOS". It's been a long time since I have had fish this FRESH! When u don't smell the fish, it's ultra fresh!!! Best slaw, not too wet and just the right flavor! Fries also excellent! MUST try if you are in Gold Beach or drop by for lunch if passing through......

Really wanted to love this place based on reviews but our clam strips and fish n chips were VERY bland. While we typically follow a low salt diet for health reasons, it was like they simply forgot to add seasoning! The fries had a very very light sprinkling of seasoning but the fish was unseasoned and the clam strips tasted like I was just eating batter. Four stars for large portion size. Coleslaw was actually the best part of the meal.

WARNING*** do not get food to share, get your own portions!! This place is the BEST BEST hidden gem I've ever come across. The fish & chips are so unique and fresh. My boyfriend & I were are on a road trip to Cali and I needed fish & chips on the coast, he found this place from google after I passed on other places because I wanted to have a good fixing. Honestly we ended up getting in a bad fight over the food, not joking (didn't talk for hours after we ate). We got a portion to share of the 3 fish and chips and typically we are both really generous with sharing but something happened where we didn't want to. Fought over who was eating more and it wasn't fair lol Point is, you will want to eat it all and not share your food because it is that good. Tip: They only took cash when we were there maybe they take card now but be prepared with cash.

I had the fried shrimp tacos. Probably the best tacos I've ever eaten. Friendly service. Not fast, just really good.
