The best Korean food I’ve had in decades!! Nice and spicy while also being flavorful, and excellent soju cocktails. The staff were super friendly and the vibe inside the restaurant is so cute. 10/10 we will be back!

I've been coming here for a couple years now but never actually posted a formal review, so I figured I'd leave one now. Although the menu has changed a couple times, the food never fails to impress me. For the price, portion, and quality of the food, there are few and far between that I could say even hold a candle to these wonderful folks. On top of this, fantastic service from those working here! The front of house is super helpful and kind, especially if you are not familiar with Korean cuisine and don't really know the "lay" of the menu. I will say that if you come in when it's busy, understand that these folks are working 6-10 tables at a time, so you may need to get their attention! That's not bad service, that's recognizing that you're not the main character of the story! Learn to raise your hand and politely ask for a server rather than just angrily staring at them, wondering why the server didn't read your mind. All in all, great food, great vibes, great service, and great prices. Always a pleasure coming back here.

Really nice ambience inside: good lighting, music, decor, nice servers. We were seated pretty quickly on a Saturday night even with it being pretty full inside. My boyfriend and I shared tteokbokki, which had great flavor and was very filling. FYI, the spicy is not too spicy. There’s also a photo booth inside! Wok&pot name isn’t visible from outside for some reason, so if you navigate to a place called “Sot”, don’t be confused :)

Location itself is great and servers are great too. But air quality in the restaurant was so bad and it seemed like something burned and old oil feel. Jjambbong taste was not what I expected but I don’t mean it is bad, just not taste like Jjambbong. And other soup also same, not bad but it didn’t feel Korean food. Creamy shrimp was too sweet even I could feel sugar in my mouth. If you are not Korean, please don’t believe that this is Korean food, if you are Korean, then do not expect Korean taste. Again, taste is not bad but different from what food name is.

The food is awesome so far. I hope to keep it that way any time if i ever pop in again someday. Music sucked. The server was nice, tho she seemed a little down. Stress living is unfortunate. Maybe a random bonus for her work for so long can help her in these times of stress. Alright, Bento Box has arrived!! AHHHHH, it's Sooo GOOD!! Everything on my plates is quality prepared and quality presentation. Was spicy, but not too spicy. And the taste is on point. Now, match the music with the type of restaurant this is, then we got ourselves a 5* review. I'll be back with my gf and potentially family someday, not sure when. Might be soon, might a few months.

I went to Wok n Pot in Providence last weekend, located at 333 Westminster St, Providence, RI 02903. 🏙️ First off the drinks here are so fun! Everything from flavored soju to popsicle drinks. I don't think you’ll be disappointed with the selection here. We had the japchae for an appetizer—these are glass noodles with spinach, mushrooms, carrots, and soy sauce! Loved trying this for the first time. 8/10. 🍜 We also had the mala tofu—these were so creamy and delicious, almost like an egg even though it was tofu. 9/10. 🌱 For main dishes, we got stonepot bibimbap with a fried egg and chicken. This was pretty basic; I wish it had more flavor, but overall it was good. You can choose your own sauce between mala, gochujang, and sweet teriyaki. 7/10. 🍲 We also got to try their rose-flavored tteokbokki with ramen. This was so creamy and delicious and not too spicy. I love tteokbokki, and the rose flavor is amazing. 9/10. 🌸🔥 We also tried two off-menu items: their new shrimp appetizer, which was fantastic—I loved how creamy and fresh the shrimp was. 8/10. 🍤 And finally, their upcoming wing competition. You have 10 minutes to eat giant spicy chicken wings! I could barely have a few bites…this competition is not for the faint of heart! TLDR: Wok & Pot was a really great new experience for my party. The drinks were refreshing and the food was more than delicious. Service was quick but there were a few things forgotten. I can't wait to come back with more friends and enjoy the food again! Food & Drink: Walking in I had never eaten Korean food before. The waitress gave us a very helpful picture menu which made decisions much easier. Appetizers were delicious and came out pretty quick. My party all got drinks and no one had any problems and loved the drink selection. The waitress gave us a very good suggestion to try the Budae Pot and I was astounded at how good of a suggestion that was. The broth was spicy and delicious and the vegetables and meat were perfect. I would recommend 3 people for one pot. The rest of my party had not a single complaint about our food and we though roughly enjoyed our meal. Service: Our waitress was very attentive and made a great suggestion for our food. She was nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The staff adapted to a menu change for someone in my party with no problems. Very well done! Atmosphere: The restaurant has a pretty modern feel, with a bar right in the middle of the room, disco ball, and photo booth to the side. There is nice window seating with a view of the avenue. Everything was clean and in good condition. I will absolutely be bringing friends back to Wok & Pot. I had a great experience and the food was a great new cuisine for me. You will see me again!

I love this place. I ate here last weekend and am back on Friday night. They've won many awards -- I can see why! Such good food. I had soft tofu jigae on a really cold winter day after lots of walking -- so perfect! And tonight, stonepot bibimbap. They have tteokbokki, wok dishes, Korean barbecue, etc. Will be working here for a while and plan to keep coming back. I love the atmosphere ... a huge screen scrolling beautiful images. The service is excellent, too.

For an early Sunday dinner, I decided on Wok & Pot given my penchant for Chinese-Korean fusion. At 5pm, the establishment seemed at 1/4 capacity. I received a seat immediately and made my order - the spicy seafood noodle soup / jjampong ($16). Before my noodle soup arrived, I received a bowl of rice and 2 sides - radish and cucumber. The radish, julienned and pickled, seemed saltier than the usual cubed radish kimchi; I prefer this one more. The cucumber, in addition to the usual soy sauce and pepper flakes, also had some sesame paste - a novel addition. Both seemed satisfactory. The noodle soup itself seemed stuffed to the brim with both seafood and beef. At the price point, the portion size provided a strong value proposition. I would have liked less cracked mussel shell pieces, however. Also, a signature aspect of jjampong seemed missing - the smokiness from wok-sauteed vegetables. The establishment itself looked quite modern and well decorated. Each table had a summon server button - an innovation I wish would spread to the wider industry. The place could use some better ventilation - my clothes smelled like kitchen afterwards.

I've been to this place few times and when I visited recently I noticed that they did an overhaul of this place. It always has been a solid Korean restaurant in RI. Menu was updated and they got rid of some dish while adding others. Now there are hot pot and grill option and newly installed tables with hotpot/grill set up. We tried the seafood hot pot, kimchi fried rice and bulgogi kimbap. Bulgogi kimbap and kimchi fried rice were both good. Very flavorful and can tell they were freshly made. Seafood hotpot was good. Definitely got great seafood flavor in the broth after cooking for a while and we added ramen noodle to finish the dish. Service was good but bit slow at times due to how busy the place was. Overall I liked the place and new overhaul. Definitely would come back to try other food to see if anything changed about them. Only down side was that seafood hotpot was a bit hard to eat with crab shell intact and no tools to open them to eat. I ended up actually injuring my finger trying to pry open the crab shell with my fingers and gave up after a while lol. They definitely should provide a tool or open it up for customers. Maybe I'll try other hotpot next time.

RI Food Fight- Wings 2024 review: We came for the wings but found a cool little spot! First off my husband and I loved the Korean beats playing here and the huge screen along one wall that had interesting things gliding across it the whole time we were in for our wings and extras. Instagram photo booth? That's cool. We sat at the bar. We ordered soy garlic spicy wings, potato pancake, a Melona popsicle cocktail and my husband grabbed a beer. I want to tell you I want just the popsicle! It was delicious, but the drink, in my opinion, not so much. The potato pancakes were burnt. I feel like you need to know we were the first customers of the day. There was no rush but the pancake had a burnt taste. My husband liked the burnt taste but I could have done without it. I did like the mayo and teriyaki drizzle on top of the pancake for a little extra flavor. The wings: Crispy, meaty and nice flavor. Reminds me of Den Den's sauce. I wish the sauce was a little more sticky and the person making it had a heavier hand- I just like a lot of condiments! True score: 3.5 (would have been higher if it wasn't burnt.)

Tucked away in an unassuming corner of the city lies this hidden gem of Korean cuisine: a nondescript restaurant that you could easily walk right by without a second glance. Within these unassuming walls awaits a culinary adventure that will tantalize your taste buds. Despite its humble exterior, this Korean eatery boasts a delectable menu. The wings are to die for. Dumplings...well, they were equally incredible. Lots of lip smacking sauce with crispy edges and soft on the inside. Oh Lordy. We were given complimentary Korean appetizers of kim chi and other pickled veges which were very good. Now, I don't want to get your expectations up too much because maybe you'll find this isn't your cup of tea but we sure enjoyed the meal. We'll be back.

We arrived early on a very cold, winter afternoon to try the wings as part of the RI Food Fights Lord of the Wings competition. We sat at the small bar & took in the fun environment. A HUGE screen takes up an entire wall, showing super cool pan- Asian images. A photo booth beckoned from across the room & would be a blast after a few cocktails with friends! Cocktails looked very interesting- many fun selections & sake & soju available. As we arrived shivering & could use a warm up, hot sake was our choice. The popsicle cocktails sounded fun had it been a tad warmer. Service was a bit slow, but we were not in a hurry, enjoyed the vibe & it seemed they were busy getting started for the day. We were pleasantly surprised when our server brought a small tray of delicious salad, kim chi & pickled cucumbers - wonderful. The sweet chile wings were fabulous! Everything we'd expect from a Korean kitchen - Shatteringly crisp with a sweet, savory, spicy glaze. Perfect! The smiley face fry garnish reflected the fun atmosphere. The potato pancake was crispy, delicious & filling. We look forward to returning to try more!

We always order JjamBbong because it is the most amazing thing on the menu!! We also bring our friends to this restaurant to try this noodles. The broth 10 out of 10, always amazing, always flavorful, never disappointed. But lately the noodles are terrible because they are overcooked. After they changed the noodles from the thicker ones to the skinner ones it has been always soggy. I asked many times don't over cook the noodles, but it came out over cooked anyway. I don't know what is wrong with the noodles cooking time, but you need to fix this! This is my favorite thing and I want it back to how it was.

The good: vibes and decor, service (ring the bell if you need someone!), the photo booth - so much!, and the budae pot (feeds 4 people!! includes lots of meat, free broth refills, very flavorful)! The not-so-good: the other food we ordered including the tangsuyook (it was very very dry, mostly breading, and the sauce was already on the chicken), stone pot bulgogi bibimbap (beef was dry, everything was pretty dry, even after mixing the sauce in), parking (street parking because downtown) Overall: I would come back with a group of friends just to share the budae pot! Otherwise, if you're craving other Korean foods - might go elsewhere.

I've been here twice, and what keeps me coming back is their seafood scallion pancakes. The first time I ordered the jjambong (regular spicy) with a side of noodles, Korean wings, mandu and seafood scallion pancakes. The second time I had the stone pot bibimbap and seafood scallion pancake. I was satisfied with the jjambong because it did have a generous amount of seafood. It was a bit spicier than I anticipated (but it was not too overwhelming). I would go with less spicy next time just to enjoy all the flavors a little more. The broth is thin but rich with flavor and a deep red/orange color. The serving size is big. I did not finish it all so I took the rest home. The mandu was yummy. The outside is crunchy and the filling was very tender and flavorful. I wish it came with a sauce to dip it in besides soy sauce. The Korean chicken was good but it was not nearly as good as the best Korean fried chicken I've hard. It did have the traditional property of being crunchy but the flavor was lacking. I was not impressed with the stonepot bibimbap. I thought the flavors were a bit weak and the toppings were scarce and did not contribute much. I was not expecting the chicken to be fried which was a pleasant surprise but I do think it was a bit dry and bland. The seafood scallion pancakes are chefs kiss though. They're unlike the scallion pancakes I've had before. They're moist (in a good way) while being crispy on the outside. It has a good umami flavor and the seafood is generously scattered throughout. The shrimp does still have the skin on it but it creates for a crispy experience. I wish it came with a dipping sauce besides sweet soy sauce--something creamy and spicy would be amazing. The pieces melt in your mouth for sure. It can take a bit to get your food if you're ordering in advance online or over the phone so I would recommend factoring in some waiting time. Sit down service is a good pace though. One advantage of this place is that they are open late on weekends (Friday and Saturday night) which makes it an excellent option when you're not sure where to go, want good food, and everything else is closed. Parking is a bit tough because it's located right in the downtown Providence area but if you circle around for a few minutes, you'll eventually find something.

I've been here various times, and this time around was another great experience, I wanted to share more about this place. The tteokbokki is always chewy, savory, and spicy~ it's the perfect amount of chewiness where my jaw won't hurt after the dish cleared out. The spicy Mayo kimbap was a delicious, and the seafood pot was a perfect shareable dish for two. Definitely leave the crab legs and shell in for the soup to grab those flavors! Downside was how it was impossible to break the legs without tools or even with brute force. It felt like a crime, leaving the legs in the dish since our hands were covered in soup juice and we wanted to be presentable after dinner. I would order again but maybe sneak my own crab cracking tools~ order some sides like we did, to add into the soup since you'll be felt craving more knowing you left perfect good crab meat still in the shell, impossible to grab Staff were prompt, kind, and attentive to our empty dishes. Our dishes also arrived right after ordering! I think they went through a makeover because the tables look new, and something about it was more inviting with the projection of what looks like the cinematic credit scene of a kdrama. Satisfied date night

This is a Cool Korean spot downtown with great prices. The two of us split a soon tofu and the osam bulgogi and definitely had enough for tomorrow's lunch. The service is great and we'll be back to try their extensive selection of drinks.

My husband and I came to dinner here looking for a new place. Ordered potato pancakes that came after the main course. . When I went to drink my water, it smelled like bleach And I spilled it on my shirt when I jerked the cup away from my face. Here's a picture. The manager kept saying that there is something wrong with the dishwasher... My husband water was fine. We paid full price and left didn't even want to take the left over good. No stars! Many wrong things here ! Waiter said the food is not spicy and it was too spicy for us. Not a nice place!

We heard great things about Wok & Pot and couldn't wait to check it out for ourselves. We typically order a bunch of small dishes when we visit a new place, so we can try a bunch of different things, but after seeing some pictures of the Budae Pot we knew we had to try it. The food was amazing and our server was very kind. It's a small place but there's so much to take in; from the disco ball above the bar, to the Photo Booth in the corner, to the large projector screen along the wall, and the open kitchen - which makes the restaurant very interactive. We're excited to return again to try a few more things.

It's been a year since I've revisited Wok & pot. There is a Photo Booth (for purchase) now and the tables have been renovated. I came with a friend and we ordered the soft tofu jjambong pot, jjajangmyun, and a few drinks. The Han river, soju latte, mango coco, and Korean soju. Everything was great as I remembered it to be. The food was very filling and flavorful. The drinks were great. There were only 2 servers on a busy day, but they were attentive and pleasant.

RI Food Fight - Wings 2024: Got the soy garlic and spicy sweet chili wings. They came with cute smiley face potato fries. The breading was definitely on the thicker side (which we're personally not big fans of when it comes to Korean fried chicken). Very grateful that it came with the sides to balance out the heaviness of the wings. Overall very nice atmosphere with the popping Kpop music and cinematic display on the wall. Would be interested in coming back another time to try out some other dishes.

We came in for dinner on a Saturday night (3/25/23). It was a little odd at first because no one greeted us at the host/hostess stand, despite workers walking right by us and not acknowledging us, not until we flagged someone down. When we sat we were again not greeted by the gentleman working the bar for quite some time, so it took awhile for us to order our food. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees. One appetizer and one entree came out at the same time. Also for the appetizers, they did not give us any plates to share. It was truly an awkward dining experience as one of us ate their entree and the other sat there waiting. Then the second entree came out after we inquired about it, but the second appetizer never made it to us. After we had finished our entrees, we canceled the second appetizer because at this point it wasn't worth it anymore. The food was delicious though and of excellent quality. The restaurant is spacious and clean, and the bar area is nice. It felt like the restaurant was a little understaffed and there seemed to be coordination issues in the kitchen with items being forgotten and entrees/appetizers not being organized accordingly. We noticed some guests getting up and leaving because of the frustration. Overall, we're giving the dining experience 3 stars. The food is excellent and very tasty, but the service can be optimized with more attentive servers and better coordination with the food coming out.

Food was decent. Definitely not the best. I ordered a Bulgogi plate. I will rate this plate a 4 out of 10. I had order this plate in many different restaurants and I can tell you that it is not the best, nor the worst. Service was good. I like how you ring the bell in order to get their attention and the ambience was good.

Ordered to go - Kimchi Kimbap$9.95, vegetable kimbap$8.95, and Jjambong$15.95, Makgeoll The flavor is a bit below average for all three dishes. Both Kimbap had more ingredients than rice which was good, however the lack of flavors was disappointing. Jamming surprising had lots of pork and not as much seafood. Flavor was alright. There is a Photo Booth once you walk in to the left! Thought that was cute to have.

I ordered the cream shrimp and the mondo pork dumplings. The cream shrimp was the worst fried shrimp I have ever had. It was simply bland and disgusting and gave me stomach issues immediately afterwards. The dumplings are a solid 6/10. They were crispy but the pork was super minced but packed so they were okay and it came with white rice that was cooked fine. The ambiance was nice inside but the service was horrible as anything you ordered would take years to arrive to your table. I would not go back as their is nothing that would make me want to

The atmosphere and service is good but the food is so so not very authentic Korean food. Bulgogi is so dry like eating a rug meat, no sauce at all, tangsukyuk taste like Chinese general tso chicken except it's super hard to chew. Their drink from the bar is good. Food from kitchen is so so, not ideal for kids eatery. We end up have to do second stop to order food for kids again.

Totally satisfied my tummy. So delicious! We ordered the Takoyaki as an appetizer as well as the Tteokbokki. The food came a bit slow, but it was definitely fresh! The side dishes were not bad as well, which came for free. The interior and ambiance of the restaurant was so cozy and aesthetic; I've included a photo of the cute disco ball! The takoyaki was steaming hot and was solid. It was my first time trying tteokbokki and it definitely did not disappoint! It was quite yummy and the texture is very nice as I live rice cakes. We also ordered the beed bulgogi, which came with rice. The rice bowl they gave was really small, and definitely not enough for the big plate of beef. We asked for another rice bowl, which costed $1.50, but it wasn't too much of a big deal. Overall, service was friendly and food was delicious. Will definitely return to try the other options!

Had lunch here on Saturday and it was very slow - only 5 other people in the restaurant. Was seated after about a 4 Minute wait and no acknowledgment from the waitress who saw us. Once seated we waited over 5 minutes for someone to come over and ask if we would like drinks. We placed our order including an appetizer - waited over 20 min and one of the dishes was brought over , appetizer came with our meal and still had to wait several minutes for the other meal. Our waitress had her earbuds in the whole time - and no other people came in - so still very slow. Meal was great but service horrible.

Overall a great experience! I got the JjamBbong and my friend got the soft tofu stew. Both were delicious and left us feeling satisfied on a cold winter night. The portions were huge so I will definitely get a second meal out of my left overs. The overall ambiance of the place was also good. The staff were nice and we were able to get our food in a timely manner. My only complaint would be the banchan. We were given two daikon radish dishes and dressed lettuce but they didn't add to the experience. I could have done without them and would instead appreciate more traditional banchan.

Recently had my first dine-in experience late night at wok&pot. My boyfriend and I ordered a Sapporo, Melona popsicle cocktail (midori sour + soju), and Yakurt Soju (yakult, triple sec, soju) for drinks. The cocktails were DELICIOUS, especially the Melona popsicle cocktail! Would definitely recommend. For the appetizers, we ordered beef Mandu with spicy sweet soy garlic sauce and Bulgogi Kimbap. Honestly, both were nothing to rave about.The ingredients in the Kimbap kept falling out and the Mandu didn't really have a lot of flavor. We also ordered the Osam Bulgogi, which was basically Korean surf and turf with bulgogi and seafood. It was really good! Very filling. The star of the show, however, was the Tteokbokki. We chose the original and added ramen and cheese. (additional $2) They also have rose, mala rose, and sweet sauce as well. The tteokbokki had fish cakes, quail eggs, AND fried seaweed roll. (gimmari) CHEF's KISS. 10/10 recommend ordering the tteokbokki here. We definitely ordered a lot, and we also had plenty of leftovers for the next day. Service was fast and friendly. Vibes felt like I was actually in Korea, maybe because it was late night. Would definitely return, one of the more affordable options in downtown.

The boyfriend and I called ahead to ask about the wait and we were told 20-min... we arrived and he dropped me out front so I could put our name in and he could go find parking. Much to my surprise, I was seated immediately. Wonderful. The hostess immediately brought over two waters... ok, this felt like a great start. I texted my boyfriend to let him know I was inside and seated and about 5min later he joined me. . . . Over 20 min later (which I verified based on the timestamp of the text I sent him before he walked in) we still had not been acknowledged by anyone at our table. Nothing. With the tables on each side of us being serviced by the same person - they just seemed to . . . not see us. At about the 25 minute mark we started talking about how much longer we should wait before just walking out. But we'd tried multiple restaurants and the waits were so long and we were really hungry at this point so we wanted to try to stick it out just. so. we. could. eat. Finally, an employee was cleaning a table behind us and I managed to get his eye. I didn't know if he was a server or busser but I figured I could at least ask how we could learn who our server was so we could put in our order. He came over and we gently let him know that we thought we had been forgotten about. (There was no real acknowledgment of that issue but I think it may have been due to a language barrier - no worries.) Annnnywayyy...he took our order and that was that. We ordered several appetizers (the corn cheese to share, the oriental salad for me, and an order of wings for him) as well as an entrée for each of us, plus a beer and soda (told you we were hungry, lol). So the food came out very quickly but in a strange order... My salad app came out first, followed a few minutes later by my entrée, then the corn cheese. . . finally his entree came out. The wings never arrived... The salad was tasty enough, a nice size for the price and the dressing was yummy if you enjoy a strong sesame flavor. My entrée (Bulgogi) had almost no flavor and was warm at best. I even said to my boyfriend "this seems like it was made before we even ordered it and has been sitting there cooling off." The corn cheese was steaming hot and packed with flavor, no issue there. My boyfriend's entrée (which I can't find on the online menu to name - it was a spicy pork dish) was ok, but nothing he'd order again. Still the wings never arrived... And for the amount of time we had been sitting in the restaurant, not once did anyone come to our table to ask us how our food was or offer to get re-fills of beverages. I finally had to flag down our server to ask for another Diet Pepsi because it felt like we were invisible. (Side note: we also both thought it was customary in Korean restaurants to bring those little dishes of small portions to the table at the beginning of the service, but nothing ever arrived. Maybe you have to order something special for that here?) Anywho...we just resigned ourselves to the fact that the wings probably didn't get put put into the computer...We were done eating at this point and we flagged down the server to ask for the check and he brought it over and - we were being charged for the wings. Just as we were trying to re-flag him down to let him know that the wings were on the check but never arrived, someone from the kitchen arrived to the table with the wings - long after we'd finished eating our meal. We explained to him that we were now ready to pay the bill... He said he would have the wings removed from the check and then whisked the order of wings back to the kitchen. They had looked/smelled lovely from what I could tell. Now, from a customer service / hospitality perspective, I think it would have been a nice (and memorable) gesture for them to have offered to box the wings up for us to take with us even if we didn't want them right then and there, and perhaps still remove the wings from the bill since they never showed up during any part of our dinner service...but that didn't happen. I just hope someone enjoyed them and they weren't just thrown away. But, boy... I really would have remembered fondly that they did their best to make it right but, nope. The whole experience was just so meh - we felt invisible, the food was inconsistent, and no one really seemed to care about our presence there and we had ordered a nice $ amount of food. Unfortunately, this isn't a place we'll be going back to - not when there are so many amazing options (including other Korean) in Providence. We'll just make sure to make our reservations ahead of time for the next date night.

The food is a 5/5 for me. Service is also 5/5. Place & cleanliness is 5/5. My ONLY complaint is they took too long. Also I didn't want my yolk cooked but they cooked it. Good flavor and taste overall.

Went for lunch on Xmas Eve. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. We had fried chicken in garlic soy (delicious and crunchy with perfect sauce), spicy ramen with quail egg (very spicy but great texture), chicken fried rice and bulgogi (great sauce and delicious). Would definitely go back.

Went by for dinner today, their grand opening that I'd been highly anticipating after their months-long hiatus for renovations. Some of my criticisms might be specifically due to the fact that it's their first night open and shaking out the kinks, so take my words with a grain of salt. Also, they changed their name to Sott, no longer Wok & Pot. That being said--man... my heart is broken. Where to start? Let me say this--the food and service is really good. Some people might be confused with the service if not accustomed to Korean restaurants, but you press the button at the edge of your table to call your waiter over. Wait staff were all very attentive and professional. My main complaints are with the general experience which has drastically changed since pre-renovations. My girlfriend and I ordered the bulgogi sottbap and the seafood jjambbong, respectively, and split a tteokbokki, requesting to add cheese and ramen. They didn't have ramen, which was bizarre to hear on their opening night, and when the tteokbokki came out, instead of the cheese being served on top of the tteokbokki, it was served separately in a small skillet. I think the idea was intriguing, but as soon as it came out the cheese had already started to cool off and coagulate and it was a pain trying to scoop it onto the actual dish itself. The tteokbokki sauce, as opposed to being a usual thick sweet/spicy sauce, was very watery, barely there. Again, it was still good, but it was just not quite the way I have experienced and loved as a Korean American. The jjambbong was delicious, save for a few clams being undercooked and slimy. My girlfriend stated her bowl was good as well--however, in the past, the first thing we'd be served in the restaurant was the banchan (little side dishes like kimchi, etc); today, the banchan was served specifically with her meal. It also came with instructions for how to eat and "prepare" the dish; which, again, as a Korean American I knew what they were trying to do but I think that someone who hasn't had too much experience in this field would be very confused, as we witnessed another couple fumble around their meal. Basically, the bowl your meal comes in comes with another empty bowl that you're supposed to put the contents into, and then they give you a small vase of hot water to pour into the first bowl and make nurungji (sorry, I don't really know how to explain this one--look it up). In addition to ordering a beer for myself, tax, and tip, our total for the night was nearly $90. Maybe it's just me but this seemed like a LOT. I recall the first time I came in to Wok&Pot earlier this year, I was surprised and delighted that I wasn't breaking the bank to have a good Korean meal. Although the food and service was good, it just didn't feel like it was worth that much when it felt like there was so much effort incumbent on the customer in order to enjoy their meal. Maybe the renovations were due to business reasons, maybe they were struggling--I won't fault them for doing what they needed to do. However, personally, it felt to me like they were trying to change their target audience and make Korean food something of a spectacle and something to experience rather than just sit down after a long day, enjoy, and be on our way. I have similar criticisms of Mokban down the street, where they overcomplicated what I believe to be fairly simple cuisine. As the kids say, it felt like they were "doing too much." I have hope that W&P, or Sott, as they're called now, will be able to come back and that perhaps their opening night will bring some lessons to be learned. I think if you're looking to try Korean food for the first time this could be a cool spot, but for someone accustomed to Korean food that just wants to enjoy a meal, this might not be the best place for you. Edit: Just compared pictures of pre-renovation menu with the prices from tonight. Tteokbokki with cheese and ramen before was $13 ($11 for the main, $1 for each topping). Tteokbokki tonight, if I recall correctly, would've been $19 ($12 for main, $3 for ramen, $4 for cheese, but no ramen). Jjambbong had a $6 jump in price for essentially the same thing I used to get. Girlfriend's bowl had a $5 jump in price for what seemed to be significantly less. Again, I understand that inflation is in play here, and maybe they HAD to increase prices, but it generally just left me a bit disappointed knowing that my previous experience will not be replicated. I'll still return (and hope they don't remember me...) because the food was good, but I might wait a while to see if anything changes.

My friends and I loved the meal we had here! We tried several appetizers and some main dishes (including a soup with a ton of vegetables). The food was outstanding. And friendly service too.

The food here was pretty mediocre.. the soup was pretty good, the service wasn't terrible but they weren't too attentive. But honestly I felt sick towards the end of the day, and I really think it was the food. And me and my friends all smelled so bad after getting out of there even my hair stunk to the point that the smell was making me sick to my stomach. The odor was so strong that I washed my clothes that I wore by itself when I got home immediately because I didn't want that smell to stick anywhere and I had to wash my hair four times. I don't know what exactly that smell was but the thought of it literally makes me gag.

I'm always on the hunt for good ramen. My husband and I came here for lunch the other day and we were not disappointed. The lunch specials, to start, were incredibly priced at under $10, which is almost unheard of for downtown prices. We both ordered the lunch ramen on the mild side, which was just the right amount of spice for me. (If you like things spicier, the standard order is up a level.) We paired our ramen with the scallion pancake, which was also delicious, along with two draft Asahis. It was the perfect mid-day lunch, and the server was so helpful and friendly. I don't know if this is a new restaurant, or if I just hadn't noticed it before, but they could definitely use some love if you want to check it out.

Stopped by this Korean-Chinese restaurant Downtown for dinner one weeknight, and liked it so much I ordered again later that week. So far I've tried the jjajangmyun, the dry jjambbong, fried mandoo, and the pork tangsuyuk and they were all incredible. The flavors here are really authentic and the portions are huge. I think my favorite was the jjambbong, but would happily get any of these again. Service here was also pretty quick, and delivery took about 20 minutes. When I went the restaurant was not crowded. The issue is free parking around this area is difficult to come by. I did notice they don't serve banchan with the meals here. Not sure if this is a Covid related decision, since I saw they had it in the past. I would have loved to have picked radish with the jjajangmyun. Regardless, everything I've had here was fantastic and reasonably priced. I'm looking forward to trying more things on the menu and already planning my next trip!

I decided to give it another try maybe the server was having a bad day the first time I came but no she was still rude as ever. I don't know her name but she wears glasses. Again we were seated right away then had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come over even with water then take our order. Our chicken which is an appetizer came LAST after all the food. She had gave another table a discount when their appetizer came last so why weren't we given the same? I mean I get it chicken takes awhile to cook especially kfc but it's about the customer service that's horrible

The Korean food scene is growing in Providence! Called in for a outdoor seating reservation on a Saturday night. Got there and there was barely anyone there at 6 pm. Guessing the party doesn't start until later? There's only like 2 tables of 4 available for outside dining on the sidewalk, so don't expect to be able to bring a big party out there. We ordered the tteokbokki with cheese and ramen to make it a rappokki and it was pretty good. Definitely not as spicy as some really korean restaurants that I've had in NJ and NY. Maybe more catered to the population in RI. But perfect for me. The seafood pancake was strangely very thick but pretty good. The seafood pieces were actulaly quite large. The stone pot bibimbap with bulgogi was also very good. We also ordered the Soondubu with pork and another with beef that was also solid. The sullongtang was ok. The broth is lacking a little flavor so you had to add a bit of salt to it. Usually sullongtang places that I've had in NJ don't require any salt because the broth is already so flavorful on its own. Some staff members were wearing masks while others were not. Very cute place to hang out and solid food overall.

Great place for Korean in an area that has quite a few Korean places. Nice welcoming interior not crowded at all. The service was excellent and the food ? Everything we tried was out of this world. I had the JjamBbong wich had tons of shrimps and mussels along with excellent noodles in a very tasty soak e broth. Also a good spot to try some traditional Korean drinks

Definitely Do Not order the ramen. There's only one option on the menu, and it's legitimately ichiban noodles straight from the bag. The ichiban seasoning too. They didn't try to hide that they are serving ichiban. The apps were decent. Korean fried chicken was ok. Doughy inside but crispy outside. Service was great, which is the entire two star rating. Hard to enjoy a 11 dollar ramen bowl that costs 99 cents at the grocery store.

I have been to Wok and Pot A LOT this summer. Like arguably way too much. Today, my internship ends, and so too do my frequent visits. So it felt only serving to reflect on my summer of wok and pot. When I went, I always got one of two items off the lunch specials menu, the ramen (less spicy) and the bento box. Both were delicious and an incredible value (which I appreciated with my low paying internship). I also highly enjoyed the little side dishes that came before each meal (kimchi, pickles and peppers, all in interesting and flavorful sauces). In terms of service, I want to highlight the work of one server, who, although was not working every day, quickly learned that I was a regular and learned my order. He was incredibly warm, attentive, and service was fast (even if the restaurant was busy for lunch, which, while he was waiting seemed to be the norm). The ambiance in the restaurant is nice, and sort of what is expected in a restaurant like Wok and Pot. I should add that it does get pretty cold inside, so I recommend sleeves for sure. Overall, if you're in the area, I highly recommend Wok and Pot as a quick, cheap-ish, and delicious lunch spot. I'm sure dinner is good too, but I've never been for dinner... Thank you Wok and Pot for great meals all of this past summer!

First, the food is great. No complaints. The atmosphere is casual and the prices very reasonable. The staff is actually very friendly, but incompetent is too forgiving a word. We ordered a beautiful spicy seafood pot. I'm sure the crab would have tasted awesome, except that we couldn't get to the meat with the little crab leg cracker they gave us. No seafood fork nor shell pick to use. We attempted to dig out the meat with a chopstick, but were unsuccessful in obtaining anything substantial. It was like enjoying the tender meat of a sparrow cheek. I looked down to find the lost and empty eyes of the crab itself staring at me as if to give me his last F You of karma. The attempt to open the crab legs did leave us with a nice orange residue on our hands and because we had to share the three napkins they initially left us, my kids walked away with oil spots, battle scars if you will, of defeated cotton. We sheepishly asked for more napkins and perhaps an empty bowl to discard the shells and tails. I say sheepishly because we did so with head bows and shame lest we be branded as Karens and end up on TikTok. The table was so full of crap, we didn't notice the little sign that read "ring bell for service" until the end of the meal. We rang to get the check and a person came over and alerted us that "we add 20% gratuity on parties of 5 or more." My husband and I both worked in restaurants for years and whole-heartedly support restaurant workers and local businesses. Do I love the Modern Love shirt I bought today? Yes! Is my son psyched to read the urban revolutionary poetry book he bought at Symposium? Dig it! Would we have left our traditional 30% if someone would have shown the slightest bit of interest in their job? Yes! But the lack of service (I should've read the sign to ring the bell), and the assumption the distracted 20-somethings deserved anything more than extra side work at the end of the shift, left us really and truly disappointed. It was also not fun to have my 8-year-old daughter be mid-pee then hear a man's voice in the next stall. So on top of everything else, this restaurant has me contemplating voting for Trump over a genderless bathroom controversy I didn't want to be in in the first place. All this place needs is two good waiters and a lock on the bathroom door and it would be awesome. As it stands right now, we will never return.

The Korean food is really authentic and the price is cheap compared to others on college hill. Definitely recommend!

The food here is REALLY good and I've never had to wait too long for my meal to be ready. I've gone to this restaurant 4 times in the past 6 months and it's been satisfying every time. It's a very unassuming-looking place that is much better than you'd probably expect looking from the outside. That being said, the interior when I last visited (and a bit less so the previous times) was pretty filthy. The paper menu's were ripped and splotched with dried sauces and looked disgusting. The windows I sat up against were stained with food sauces, grease marks, and flies were all over the place. I've lived in many places abroad so this can be overlooked by me most of the time. However, around 24 hours later after eating here, I was in the hospital with vomiting and diarrhea. I traveled nowhere out of the norm in this time, worked remote all week, and ate nothing out of the ordinary... Aside from coming here 24 hours prior. So, due to these facts, I am concerned that I may have contracted food poisoning from this location. I would suggest eating here with caution... and if you do, make sure you feel comfortable that it's clean enough to dine-in in the first place.

Amazing Korean place in downtown Providence! There's probably 3 restaurants in the same row but I'd say this one is the best of the lot. Got the Jeyuk Don and the spicy yakisoba with chicken for lunch. Jeyuk Don is basically spicy pork over rice and vegetables in a stone pot. The dish had amazing flavors, not too spicy and was perfect for a cold afternoon. The lunch deal is pretty good since it came along with house salad and miso soup. In addition, the kimchi and the bean sprout sides were great! The yakisoba was quite delicious as well and had great flavors. Overall good experience and good ambiance, would definitely come back. The only neg is parking but it's the same anywhere on that street.

Service was horrible! I would leave zero stars if I could, because they deserve it. The waiter and hostess is very rude.

Best lunch spot downtown in my opinion. Nice variety. Very reasonable. Pleasant atmosphere. Good service .Some of the preparations are a little different from what I'm used but I enjoyed all the same. Worth a try.

By far the worst food of our trip. Service was incredibly slow with only one server for the entire restaurant. It took an hour and 15 minutes to get our food and hour and 20 for water refill. The prior patrons meals were never cleaned up from 8 different tables. The food was mediocre at best. No apology from server. Pick somewhere else for good Korean.

Very average. My favorite was the mandu. I wasn't expecting it to be fried. I feel like mandu is usually steamed unless specified otherwise? While the portion sizes seemed generous, the quality and flavor of the food was lacking. Not pictured is the bibimbop my friend ordered. The egg on top didn't have a runny yolk at all and he said it was mostly vegetables and not a lot of meat. The jjajamyen was okay. Nothing crazy and very average. For the jjamppong, there was a generous amount of clams but my friend said it was just okay. Service felt slow. Took forever for the check to come. We got some of the soju drinks. My friends enjoyed their yogurt one. I got the mango one and it had a strong liquor like taste and honestly didn't taste like mango. Also the table was awkwardly large. No good ambiance whatsoever.

love the shin ramen wowzas, also i big fan of the creamy rice wine dwink deff come here alot for my ramen fix... sometimes w tof, sometimes w veggie, its all good dont get me started in the tonkatsu tho, huge piece of schmeat, perfectly crispy and tastes gr8

So bummed - I ordered Bibimbap- a staple of Korean cuisine cooked in a stonepot so the ingredients develop into a carmelized bowl of yum. I returned the food twice - the ingredients were cold including the fried egg (which should have been actually cooked in the stonepot), the 4 pieces of bulgoki - clearly precooked, assembled, and microwaved. I was offered a free dessert but not an apology - why would I want more of your fake food? Also, the cost was extra for the bibimbap "cooked in a stonepot." When you want heartwarming rich-flavored Korean food lovingly made? Don't come here.

We stopped by and tried the Budae Pot!m, which was tasty and a great value. However, the service was quite poor - we were seated for almost 15 minutes before we were brought waters. I had to ask for a set of utensils, and after we got our food no one checked in for the rest of the meal. To top it off, I had to flag down someone for the check - when I asked, they said "ok buddy" in a sarcastic and condescending tone. Not sure if it was an off night or not, but realistically would only consider getting takeout considering the horrible service.
