Wok It Out

Ever since I was introduced to this place 4 years ago, I have been a very happy customer. The employees are very nice. The owner is a very hard working, gentle and firm man. Sometimes there are specials he offers when you buy a certain amount of plates: love it because we are a big family. Food quality you can see, cooks are present and visible as you order your food. Smells amazing every time I go in. My favorite 2 items that I always have to have is the coconut shrimp and the house special green beans. Ooouf so yummy 🤤. Thank you for having your business open and I love this place for lunch and dinner.

First time here , and to be honest good quality of food , fresh food and they give you 8 shrimps if you spend $25 dollars . It takes 17min if there's a choice that is not there but good and fresh . The Mango boba tea is really good

Have been a happy customer for years but they really need to change their make to order policy. Came for a quick orange chicken and chowman/rice and then needed to make both on the spot. I saw them scrambling to get e everything made and had to wait 40 minutes for something they should have ready. I love small business but take the strategy of panda and the big box places.. keep the common items ready to go or I'll just need to go there next time.

The dirtiest restaurant and the worst service. I went to pick up my DoorDash order. They didn't give me my order for 20 minutes and this is their job every time. They have never given my order on time. The worst service. Useless restaurant in Bakersfield. And employers doesn’t know how to talk with customer. He talked with rude. I don’t care.

So we been coming here for years!! And today 08-03-2025 @3:20 and for the first time we went and litterly waited 40 min for our by 4:10pm for our food it’s not even a restaurant and the lady I guess she is new. She is Asian and we saw her using no gloves putting her hands inside the bin to restock the foods area and Kuz she dirtied her fingers she licked them and continued to handle the pans to with the licked fingers. And also the lady had no good communication if she had lots of orders or anything like that we wouldn’t waited that long either. Ewww ewww thinking of her licked fingers touching inside the food are is so nasty!!! never again sucks us being loyal customers for years!! Years!!! and having the new lady work there being so dirty and took forever too. For the first time ever too sucks :/ and it was hot inside too.

This is a nice little gem. Food was good and nice portions. Best part is your favorite dishes are made to order, so not sitting there for long periods. The eggplant was a standout. And you can boba there as well.

Great family owned restaurant. The portions are decent. The food is delicious. Most food is prepared when ordered. The prices are reasonable as well. It’s a better alternative to Panda.

This is mom and pop shop. They are nice and friendly (what actual customer service used to be). Their Coconut Shrimp is E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G!!! The glaze goes into the cabbage bed or is added onto before the Shrimp and then the cabbage has a dressing to accompany the shrimp (not just for looks cabbage). It's no nice! 🤤 #supportsmallbusiness

Best Chinese food in Bako hands-down. Don't think about it twice, just try it and you won't great. Also, the owners are awesome and truly care about their customers.

Amazing hot and sour soup! Service however, is slow. Soda machine is never working with watered down Brisk. The constant frying, popping, and scraping sounds are extremely grating. Very loud. 2010's music is blasting along with it. Had to yell over the constant scraping to tell my family my fortune. If you have somewhere to be, don't go to Wok It Out. It's so slow! I'm not getting any younger! It has a bunch of employees bustling around, yet the minutes it takes to get food is to the tenth power!! Sure, it's delicious like fast food, but fast just isn't in the picture. I would recommend the fried rice, orange chicken, and hot and sour soup, that is if you've got the time, patience, attention span, and can keep your cool over the like 2020's kid trying to get their Spotify playlist bigger to seem like they know music. Clean up your act, Wok It Out!!!

I have only ever ordered the hot and sour soup and its always been for take it. The little old man presumably the owner is always pleasant and the soup reminds me of the great hot and sour soup from the old Peking Palace on the corner of Auburn snd Fairfax. If you know you know. The rest of the food looks pretty good as well, but cant comment on it..

Very limited on veggies and food portions are good and the food is delicious too so just need to work on veggies

This place is great! Love their salt and pepper chicken wings! Everyone is very nice. It's a nice, chill location.

Ordered a tray of salt and pepper wings for Super Bowl Sunday and they were able to accommodate me within 30 minutes from when I called in the order. Those wings are soooo delicious! Full of great flavor, garlic, small amount of heat and huge wings! We couldn't stop eating them! Definitely will be back for more! My only regret is that I did not take a photo.

Worst Chinese food I have ever had! Went there for lunch (12:00), everything they had on their steam table, looked like it had been sitting there for weeks. And, they opened an hour before I got there. It's like they cook everything with sugar. The rice was a big pile of mush, and the noodles were equally disgusting. Absolutely the worst Chinese food ever!!!

Wow! Wok it Out!! My first time into this spot and we were impressed! We walked in to see a great special offer, it was about 45 minutes until closing and they did not have much left out, so they made almost everything for us fresh! The service was great and I would recommend the egg flower soup and the salt and pepper chicken. Will definitely be returning!

Another stop at my favorite Chinese food spot. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. If you have not been here, go as soon as possible. Pro tip... pork chops are on Monday. Dont forget the greenbeans

Never disappoints. Their food is always piping hot and fresh. The owner and staff are super friendly. They keep their kitchen/food warmers extremely clean and sanitary, so you know they handle your food super safely. They have a special going on where you get 8pc fried shrimp if your order is over $25. Go get it!

Every time we visit family down in Bakersfield's; we always make time to drop by to pick up our favorite Chinese food in town. Our favorite is the honey walnut prawns and the green beans with the twice cooked pork! It's delicious. Everything is made to order now so it's fresh and good.

i came late, probably last customer. There was not much meat left from the day, but they took the time to cook me some fresh Orange Chicken. Food was great. A very nice spot to check out!

This was actually my second time visiting Wok It Out. The first time I visited, I forgot to leave a review. This time around I visited around 1:30 in the afternoon, which was well after the lunch rush when I entered the establishment it was completely empty, but I was greeted right away by the very friendly employees she quickly took my order which consisted two 2 item plates. One of my plates I ordered orange chicken and beef and broccoli. The beef and broccoli that they had in the serving tray was low so the employee asked if I mind waiting just a few minutes and they would make me fresh bread and broccoli which I very much appreciated . My other plate consisted of orange chicken and mushroom chicken. Both were fresh tasting and full of flavor. For my two plates, it ended up coming to a total of $20 and just a few cents. For the amount that we were given, I definitely believe that that's a fair price and I will definitely be back if not for the customer service alone. The restaurant was very clean and up kept. everything seems to be well organized.

The food here tastes incredibly fresh and is full of flavor; the orange chicken being one of my personal favorites here. Not to mention that the service is great and full of polite people who obviously work hard to keep the place clean and in order. It's also never too crowded around 12pm which I find convenient for my lunch. Also, I hope they bring back the hot chili pepper sauce. It was oversalted for a couple weeks and was then never seen again but I miss it and am willing to forgive.

Best cow main in town. Egg rolls didn't have any flavor. Service? EXTREMELY slow. I wanted to go back and get the food myself.

Me and my family have been going to this place for a while now, and it's always been great! The workers are kind, the food is phenomenal, and it's never too packed. If it weren't for today, I would rate this place five stars. You see, today I saw a significant decline in quality. * My soda had an ant in it, which was really odd. When I rinsed and refilled my cup, the Crush soda I got didn't taste the same anymore. * The chili sauce we typically get was super salty even though it never was before. * Our mushroom chicken was just chicken fat and no actual chicken. * It's kinda hot in here. This place could use a better cooler. Despite these setbacks, I still love this place. The food never disappoints, and the free fried shrimp was very nice.

Ive been here several times, but I went yesterday and wow!! The food is much better than I remembered. I got the black pepper chicken and it felt hearty without hurting my stomach. I did have steamed rice with some noodles on top, and the food tasted fresh. The service is very good and the workers are attentive. I get the sesame balls every time I come in as well and those are very delicious. HIGHLY recommend! Support local.

Wonderful service... One of the most respectful businesses I have encountered... They are considerate, and willingness to include promotions... When I first was serviced here, I stopped going to Panda Express, Wok it Out is far more exceptional...

This was the first time visiting as a family. We were on our way back from the Kaiser Sports Park, and seen this sign we had never seen since (we do live on the opposite side of town). Turns out to be very similar to other Chinese Fast Food, although they were making several main dishes they ran out of (always a good thing in the restaurant business). We ordered (2) 2-item item plates, and they LOVED IT! Orange Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, beef with broccoli, and mixed veggies to go with the rice and chairman.

I always get the same thing, white rice, steam veggies, coconut shrimp and green beans. I like that those items are cooked to order versus the food on the line. Portions are great, not too expensive and the owners are very sweet.

This was our first time visiting Wok it Out. Some items are available in trays and others are made to order. We tried multiple items- fried rice, chow mein, teriyaki chicken, green beans and orange chicken were all very good. Like other reviews, I agree, you must try their green beans! I would skip on the kung pao chicken and fried pork next time though. Overall good experience, the staff was nice and the restaurant was clean.

The food was good, proportions were big and the staff was so friendly. The amount of food we got for the price was well worth it.

Chinese food cooked to order and a clean restaurant. The owner has been cooking and know's how to make good Americanized Chinese food. His food has not been sitting and drying out under a food lamp. It's not yesterday's warmed up feed, classics made to order.

If you haven't been to this hidden gem in the south west of town you need to run, I repeat run! The owners are by far so sweet and make the yummiest and freshest food. I always get the coconut shrimp and their garlic green beans. The green beans are literally food crack. They come in 16oz and I believe 24 oz. I eat a whole 16oz. They're literally the BEST green beans. You won't regret it. They make everything to order and fresh. When you're picking up a Togo order they show you each plate while packing it up to ensure you leave happy. Great customer service. Go support this local business!

Yummy Yummy food!! Amazingly friendly service every time I come in. Each staff member I encounter has OUTSTANDING customer service. The hot & sour soap is DELICIOUS!! I've had the regular egg flower soup and it was also good -for a little extra flavor go with the hot & sour soup (you won't regret it). I usually have the orange chicken, pot stickers or the Teriyaki chicken with fried rice! All very good. Each time I come in they suggest to make my order fresh and make me feel super appreciated. Everything is freshly made and the food tastes great every time. Highly recommend this place for some good Asian food.

We went in on Monday evening, our 1st time. Everything looked very dry, like it had been sitting there all day. We decided to pass, and only ordered green beans since they are made to order. The green beans are sooo good. Definitely recommend the grean beans. Sucks that all of a review I can give, I had high hopes since there are so many great reviews.

OMG. This place holy cow. It's so good and To top it off the owners of this place are the owners of Chinese Buffett. That shut down. They opened a small Location and Tastes the same. Love love it. So glad I found it

This is a small business with a large menu. They do have items prepared when you walk in, but some entrees are made to order. This is our 3rd or 4th time driving across town to have some good take out. You can order a bowl, or multiple items, even family packs. If you like shrimp, get the coconut shrimp. The shrimp has a thin batter and is in a thick creme sauce that is slightly sweet. This item is made to order. We usually order 3 items, 2 being the shrimp. I like their vegetable egg rolls and the cream cheese wonton. I really enjoy and appreciate that your meal includes 2 sides which could be steamed veggies, rice, fried rice, or noodles. The veggies were not overcooked and included carrots, cabbage, broccoli, zucchini. We haven't found another item we really like yet, but will return when we crave that shrimp. They also sell Boba drinks.

Where do I begin? There are so many good things about this restaurant! They always get our order right and the service is impeccable. We are usuals and love getting the coconut shrimp and orange chicken. Today we tried the sweet and spicy wings and they were AMAZING! Servings are always very generous and never skimpy! The owner's dad who is always there is super friendly and always makes sure he gets your order correct (make sure you tip them, they deserve it!) Great ambience and great food that can't be beat.

What's the point of having a Panda Express style food experience if no food is ready and you wait longer for your food than a sit down restaurant?! Stupid irritating, I could have driven to Panda Express, gotten food, and been back here before my food was ready.

Took me 7 years to come back to wok it out and give it another shot. Last review I left an average review with a bare 3 rating. Never really craved it since. Come today I wanted some Chinese, I see reviews are better and I came during a soft opening so I decided to give it another chance. I'm SOO Glad I did. The food was miles better. Got a three item plus potstickers. Chow mein, jalepeno chicken, salt and pepper chicken and green Beans. Chow mein was good, but the salt and pepper chicken and green beans were amazing. A definite pick up! Potstickers were also good for a fried potsticker. Jalepeno chicken was good as well. But those two dishes impressed me so much and I will be coming back. Fast service l, still a nice place. Try it, it's much better than panda! A solid 4.5/5

I do not normally even post but this was ridiculous. I called in my order which was not large or specific changes at all at 5:34 and was told 15-20 minutes, no problem. We went to go pick it up and were there at 5:55 (the time that was supposed to be the latest). The food is not even close to being prepared and 10 plus of us are sitting waiting for our food and it's 6:33. I rarely post because I like to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, but 2 entrees, two sides, and soup should never take from 5:35 order placed to 6:36 after being told (20 minutes) at what is considered "fast casual". I am never one to complain, but waiting after over 30 minutes after calling 20 minutes before is ridiculous. Me being the honest person I am will update this after eating the food. Unfortunately everything did come back cold, but I luckily had a microwave so, problem solved. The coconut shrimp had great flavor, enjoyed the green beans very much, and the hot and sour soup was decent everything just had to be heated back after we waited an hour from when we placed the order was frustrating. (We do not live far from the location and it was cold cold) will give them 3 stars because maybe it was an off night. The other two dishes were alright but those were my three favorites. Hopefully it was just a busy night. And yes I understand it's made to order which is why I called ahead at 5:34 and was told 15-20 minutes from that time and it took over an hour.

Very good food. Several vegetarian entrees. Entrees are made to order. Szechuan eggplant rocks and the garlic green beans are to die for. Braised tofu with onions and bell pepper has lots of flavor. Decent prices that don't break the bank. Two item plate $9.25 and big portions.

It's been a long time since i've been here but tonight i wasn't in the mood to cook and 2 things i remember being excellent here are those Green Beans which my god are like Crack LOL!! So my son is a hater of the green bean and he fought me for them literally he couldn't believe how good they were Hah!! So to me they are so delicious i could eat them as a meal with nothing else!! And they are fresh! You can watch them picking the beans by hand, cleaning them properly and preparing them. Twice cooked pork omg the pork is so tender it almost melts in your mouth, so flavourful so savoury and the cabbage in it is perfectly cooked and tender with a bit of crunch soooo freakin delicious!! Jalapeño chicken Ooooo again tender as hell chicken, spicy but not crazy spicy, sweet onions that are cooked perfectly and fresh jalapeños lots of them Lol. Geez for the price i got so much food a 2 item combo is $8.25 and look at how full my container was! I thought... Tina there's no way you can even make a dent in this! Hahaha well i'm almost ashamed to admit this but it was so freakin good i ate like 3/4 of it Hahaha!! My son finished his and mine off. Do i feel like a damn pig Yes!! Do i feel guilty Nope i've had a crap day and for some reason this food made me feel better even for the time being :D Super sweet owners/employees, very polite , very generous, fresh food being made and replaced often and VERY CLEAN!! You could lick the floor kind of clean. I am so happy to update this review and i will be back for damn sure!

Boss ordered us food from here. It was okay. The portions seem quite small & the beef with broccoli, kung pao chicken was super dry.

The garlic string beans and coconut shrimp are delicious! The service was great! The orange chicken was not my favorite but the teriyaki was surprisingly delicious!

If you want some authentic fresh Chinese food and you're out on the Panama Lane area it's in the Winco parking lot stop by give this place a try made fresh so you got to wait at least 10 minutes but number one on my list excellent

The general tso's chicken is made to order/ off the menu and is always cooked perfectly. If in a rush call and order ahead of time.

Chicken wings!!! Omg ... so delicious. I love the fact that they are made to order. It's reasonably priced too.

Solid 3 for me. Chow Mein noodles, and both jalapeño chicken and teriyaki chicken tasted fresh. Jalapeños added good heat but not too much. Teriyaki chicken was a bit bland but was tender and juicy. I'd go back again and try some other ones and review them. I love that it's fast, ready to order, and on my usual route.

Was ordering food from doordash but there was no option of adding a soda. Placed the order, call them and asked if I could add a soda. The guy said it's only a dollar so don't worry about it it's free.

Amazing food and amazing customer service. I have know this family for years!!! I think I was 5 when we would go to the restaurant they had. I go here once a month to load up on soups for my parents. I would prolly eat there like once a week if it was closer to my house.

The food was good but the salt and pepper chicken was amazing! It had such great flavor and it was crispy. Highly recommend this specific dish.

Our friends got several items catered and everything was fantastic! The noodles and shrimp dish was my absolute favorite! I crave it at least once a week.

Almost everything is made to order so it's fresh! The chow mein is so delicious!! The broccoli beef and mushroom chicken is so so delicious and everything tastes authentic. My picky eater LOVES the spring rolls and the service matches the food 10/10!!! You don't experience service & food like this very often

The only issue I had with this place was the lady was scratching her face and scratching her head. Didn't have on gloves and didn't wash her hands, then proceeded to making peoples food. The young lady that made mine was very nice. The food was really good but the best thing I had or the green beans they were flavorful. They were fully cooked but not overcooked. The beef and broccoli was good. It just did not have enough meat and it was a little bit dry, the orange chicken tasted pretty good as well
