The lunch special was amazing and low priced! I got a lunch special, includes free soda can and it was all for less than $10 and still had some leftovers to go! Highly recommend especially for college students on a budget and looking for a tasty meal even if it isnt a lunch special!

Helen

Google
I got it delivered and really liked the lunch combo. It’s only $7.99 for an entree, rice, and a drink. Super good deal. I got the beef and broccoli. Portion was solid, could’ve used a bit more meat but for the price, no big deal. Beef was nice and soft, broccoli was cooked just right. Flavor was a little bland but honestly, it hit the spot. Great option if you’re looking for cheap, reliable Chinese takeout.

Google
Hey there and welcome... If your looking for basic american Chinese food, your in luck. There's nothing special about here, at all not unique... I literally ordered Mongolian beef because I wanted something spicy, but yeah I just got beef and vegetables. Finally I had to order the ragoons, not worth it, they just taste like fat free cream cheese

Michaela Starling

Google
🥡 This is definitely some bomb Chinese-American takeout! First time here, and I was super excited because they have an amazing lunch special that you can order on Saturdays. I ordered the General Tso's lunch, which includes your choice of steamed or fried rice and a drink. FYI: Their steamed rice is actually white rice, not that weird yellow rice some places serve. The chicken came out hot, fresh, and perfectly crispy. The lunch portion was perfect for me, I couldn't even finish it all. I also ordered a shrimp egg roll which was an old school egg roll and huge. Don't sleep on the egg rolls. ⭐️ 5/5 stars - Highly recommend if you're in the area for the lunch special alone.

Google
It took me at most 10 minutes to enter the restaurant, pay, wait for my food, receive it and leave. It was really quick! The best part? It was delicious! My orange chicken, pork fried rice and egg roll were exactly what I was expecting - what I mean by that is that it was up to standard. This spot has to be one of the better quick Chinese food spots in the Archer/34th area!

Google
I got the house lo mein; it was a lot of food, delicious, and freshly cooked. I would definitely recommend this place and they are not expensive for the amount of food you get. I also really like their bourbon chicken and egg rolls.

Alice Gray

Google
Eat here every Friday night since I live next door and usually get a house special or the general tso's chicken. The egg rolls, soups, and the fried wontons are delicious. The best Chinese and the service is always fast. Prices are very reasonable- especially if you catch a lunch special.

Google
Food is decent and good prices. Also quick, friendly service, and food was piping hot. I got the teriyaki beef on a stick and they're good. I also think their egg rolls are above average. For my main dish I got sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was typical and taste like it should. Lastly, I ordered wonton soup and I can be hard to please with wonton soup but I give them 5 stars. Wonton soup flavor was on point and very good. I only knocked 1 star because the rice is pretty flavorless and could be better. Otherwise, I would recommend this place.

Yelp
This is definitely some bomb Chinese takeout! First time here, and I was super excited because they have an amazing lunch special which you can order on Saturdays! It's basically like the perfect amount of food, because from what I saw online their portions are definitely giving. I ordered the General Tso's lunch special, which includes your choice of steamed or fried rice. (FYI: Their steamed rice is actually white rice, not that weird yellow rice some places serve) The chicken came out hot, fresh, and perfectly crispy. The lunch portion was perfect for me, I couldn't even finish it all. I also ordered a shrimp egg roll which was an old school egg roll and huge. Don't sleep on the egg rolls. I actually ended up saving it and reheating it later in the air fryer. (IYKYK) 5/5 - Highly recommend if you're in the area for the lunch special alone.

Yelp
I ordered house fried rice chicken wings and fries, I wasted $17.00 the rice tasted like detergent the chicken was refried the French fries were awful my grands will never turn down fries it's all sitting in my kitchen, We tried we were very disappointed. I ordered after 8:00 so maybe that made a difference and it was delivered and the tip was included in my payment I have never had this experience with Wok and Roll they were always satisfying, I will never do delivery again

Bige C.

Yelp
It's your classic hole in the wall Chinese spot, it ain't perfect and it ain't fancy but it's salty sweet and feel good while being cheap enough to afford every other day when you're feeling bad, it's definitely helped me when I've felt down

Meadow P.

Yelp
Not awful, not great. I got a large chicken lo mein for $9.34 before tip. The portion sizes are good, but it tasted reheated and smelled a little bit like wet dog. They use chicken thighs so that's prob why but still off putting. Not sure if I'll go here again. If I do, the veg lo mein might be a better choice.

Yelp
Tasteless, bland, cheap and stale. I have gone here off and on for the last five years, as i live right by it. I don't know what happened, but some time ago i noticed there was less and less flavor in all of the fried rice and all the lo-main. I hadn't eaten there for about 6 months, so i figured I'd give it another try. I got sweet and sour chicken dinner combo. Chicken was fine, obviously the sweet/sour sauce was fine. The rice tasted like nothing at all. Literally no taste. I ordered a side of shrimp lo mein, also no flavor what so ever. To add insult to injury, i decided to have the fortune cookies, just for some taste after that. The first of the two, was rubber. I knew when there was no crunch on the first bite there was a problem. I could not even pull it a part to get a bite. The second had a hint of a crunch and then rubbery. I got a piece off and promptly spit it out. How long does it take for fortune cookies to turn essentially stale, and rubbery? Too long. I used to love this place, it was a good 'go to'. But times must be really tough if they are trying to pass this stuff off as decent. The lights were not on and no ac, so i assume they are struggling. Either that or they are just cheap.

Yelp
The house lo mein is sooo good and so are the steamed or fried dumplings. Really good crab rangoons as well. Continues to be one of our favorite Chinese to go spots in Gainesville!
google avatar

Anabelle R.

Yelp
Amazing food, so cheap and quick food. Exactly what you're looking for in a Chinese take out.

Yelp
This is one of my all-time favorite Chinese places in all of Gainesville. Even though I am about to be moving about 20 minutes away from this place, I'm thinking I'll still be a regular here. The food is always ready between 10 to 20 minutes depending on your order size, And aside from some select few occasions, the food is never dry. The steamed dumplings, chicken teriyaki on a stick, and lo mein are all excellent quality, especially the dumplings. By far the best dumplings in town! The price is right for those in the flavor even more so. They also have seating available and a pleasant, friendly ambience in case you want to grab a small bite and eat it there on lunch. Truly going to miss being so close to this gem.

Yelp
It is obviously family owned, but that's what makes it special. The food is some of the best Chinese food I've had in Gainesville, and the prices are low, to the point where it seems TOO low (but in a good way). Their proportions are good, at many times you can make two meals out of it. Also, they provide you with silverware and many sauces for takeout. Would recommend.
google avatar

Gaby M.

Yelp
Best chicken lo mein ever!!! I ordered the chicken lo mein and I also got wonton soup for ~$10. There was so much food and I was so satisfied! Best Chinese food in Gainesville. I also appreciated their safety measures for picking up the food - they were all wearing masks and no one was allowed inside.

Yelp
Wok N Roll has been a standard restaurant for basic Chinese food in Gainesville. The menu has an arrangement of these typical dishes, including beef with broccoli and sesame chicken. However, the cost and portion sizes of the meals make the experience worth. For a $7.99 dinner, you receive your entree, a scoop of pork fried rice or white rice, and an egg roll. My favorite dish here is the steamed/fried dumplings, which costs about $5 for eight large dumplings. I would note that the dumpling wrapper is rather thick, so it is more chewy and less meaty than other locations. However, you can tell that the dumplings are made in the restaurant, rather than store bought. Moreover, the preparation time for their food is about ten minutes, and they take orders very close to closing time, which makes it very convenient to get late night meals. Since Wok N Roll is mainly a delivery/pick-up restaurant, there is limited seating inside. Moreover, the smell of food is very strong in the restaurant, so I prefer to pick my order up anyways. The store isn't necessarily spotless, but it isn't filthy. Like I mentioned, it is a standard, dependable Chinese restaurant.

Donna L.

Yelp
Nasty shrimp fried rice. It tasted like it was a week old. The beef in the beef and broccoli was like trying to chew on a leather belt. I won't be ordering from them again.

Yelp
This is my favorite Chinese place! Only the one in Tallahassee. It is very clean always great service food is hot and also they have yum yum sauce in different sizes. I love their chicken and broccoli, chicken and cashew, bourbon chicken, and crab Rangoons.

Yelp
horrible restaurant I place an order for delivery on their website Fill out all my information pay for it Then get a call from them with the guy sounding angry saying we don't go that far Excuse me why would your out of date website let me fill out all my info pay for it and then you call me angry wow
google avatar

Yelp
I would not recommend this Chinese restaurant. When I ordered my food it was ready in less than 3 mins, which I thought was awesome. However, the food was not fresh and was barely warm. The cashier did not give me my drink nor silverware or napkins with my meal. I will not be returning so please do not waste your time.

Yelp
Decided to give this Chinese restaurant a shot after I found out they have tofu (*listed as been curd.) Got a 7.99 dinner special- the bean curd with veggies and gravy (honestly don't remember the name but it's the last option in that category) and the guy taking our order was super nice about answering questions. Told us it'd be 15 mins. We hit Winn-Dixie in the mean time. Almost exactly 15 mins later, we're handed this heavy bag of food. We only ordered two dinners so we knew, without looking, it'd be a good amount of food. It was. And it was so, so delicious. My friend didn't much care for her orange tofu but I thought it was great. I think it's because it didn't come with a lot of veggies and did need a bit more sauce. We got a nice size of white rice and she got crab ragoon. This is our new Chinese food place, for sure.

Yelp
Their health standards are super high and I felt safe picking up my food, which was hot and good as always!

Olivia S.

Yelp
Wasn't great but wasn't awful. Don't think I'd go here again before trying somewhere else.

Carlos F.

Yelp
This place is the best to go to when your craving Chinese food. The food is delicious. Very clean. Very good customer service. Loved the food and place will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Sam M.

Yelp
Fairly cheap, quality food, I'll be back. Easy College Chinese food! Shrimp Lo Mein and sesame chicken dinner meal

Sanchina C.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars I would. The customer service was sooo bad! They were extremely disrespectful and rude. The guy answering the phones and taking orders was the worst. He basically threw my food at me throw the glass window. Not to mention, I observed a few very unsanitary things while waiting for my food. There was a plastic container at the window full of plastic utensils for customers to just grab freely without sanitizing their hands. There's also a small table near the window with a tissue box on top for people to wipe their noses which isn't a problem until you look down on the ground and see a open bucket full of used tissue/snot rags almost filled to the top . This a major issue because of the rapid spread of COVID-19. That was my 1st and last experience at wok n roll. I would NEVER order anything else from them. Just sad!

Meg R.

Yelp
Great food and good prices and serving sizes. I requested to have all the food in the white take out boxes to get the full romantic comedy feel and they did it! Very happy with service
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
This is by far, my favorite Chinese takeout. You can order online and either pick it up, or have it delivered. I ordered in store and waited less than 10 minutes. The food here is great! I have been coming here for years!
google avatar

Hetty H.

Yelp
Very typical Chinese takeout. You have the same menu. The same prices. What sets this place apart? Perhaps the chicken wings are a little less oily and more crisp. Definitely more back staff presence so food comes out a little faster.
google avatar

Gigi A.

Yelp
Love them they're really fast and really yummy! The service is always friendly and it's reliable consistent good Chinese food though I suspect the owners are of some other Asian descent Good all around!
google avatar

Himanshu V.

Yelp
The food here is good and tasty. I had egg fried noodles. It was good. But the place needs an upgrade. The ambiance is not that good. When I went there, they served the food without the fork or spoon. They just gave me the food. When I asked for the fork, the server pointed and said it's over there. I think if you are serving food to the table, you need to give utensils to eat with. Otherwise this place is good.
google avatar

Caro P.

Yelp
Never ordering here again. They called to tell me that i had to pay 2 dollars more in order for them to deliver. Chomp Menus and their online menu says the minimum total to deliver is 11 dollars. My total was over 20 dollars and they needed me to buy something worth two dollars to deliver. Funny how 2 dollars will cost Wok n Roll not only me as a customer but all the people I know as potential customers. I recommend bento's!

Jessica C.

Yelp
I've been ordering delivery from here for years, but I'm officially in the market for a new Chinese place. I've never had a real problem with the food, (although they could work on their rice). But the lady who answers the phone is SO rude. Got my address wrong, didn't apologize for it, and then the delivery guy acted shocked when I didn't tip after he showed up two hours late. And no fortune cookies, both times :( Two words they should learn: Customer. Service.
google avatar

Alison A.

Yelp
We love Wok N Roll! Their tofu options are delicious, especially the sesame bean curd. If you are vegetarian I recommend this place!
google avatar

Parv S.

Yelp
Ordered fried dumplings & fried rice. Definitely the worst dumpling I ever ate. The dough for dumpling was so think that all you could taste was dough & super oily!! Fried rice was under cooked with no flavor/ taste at all! NEVER AGAIN!
google avatar

Livy S.

Yelp
This is by far the most disgusting vile restaurant I have ever been to! Please do not go here just keep reading on what happened. Like the other person who wrote their review I ordered the honey chicken for lunch and also ordered steamed dumplings. The honey chicken was so gummy and inedible oh man I thought I was gonna choke and was feeling sick after the first couple bites. No chicken whatsoever just bread and gunk. The fried rice is so bad it tasted like tap water had been rinsing the fried rice after cooking. I had to drive over 10 minutes to go back for a refund considering I live on 39th, and once I got there the so called manager was like this kid who kept telling me " never had an issue since the 8 years we have been here". This so called "manager" actually had the audacity to say they never had an issue for 8 years? What kind of joke is that? The dumplings is another story, and once I opened the container they were so thick and undercooked that I had to come and sit down here to write this review for everyone in Gainesville to read. Please and I beg each and every one out there who reads these reviews do not go to this place! This is the most disgusting chinese food in Gainesville, and with all the other amazing chinese restaurants to choose from just stay away from this place! I promise you will regret it....believe me!
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
The food is pretty good for cheap Chinese food, but keep in mind that's what it is: cheap Chinese food. Delivery is free as long as you spend $10, which is the real winner for me. The steamed dumplings are good if you like thick dumplings and are clearly home-made. The bourbon chicken is a miss but definitely try the sesame chicken.

Yelp
Geez with 6 six check-ins and Dukedom, it's about time I write a review for this place. Since I've been living in Gainesville (i.e. away from good Chinese food), I've developed a bit of a broccoli beef addiction. And I know plenty of people that say beef broccoli, but the Chinese way is broccoli beef, so I'm gonna keep saying it that way. Anyways, the broccoli beef is all I ever order from there, and it's the best I've ever had. Fortunately, I've gone with other people and so I can say I've tried other things they have there. Their special tofu dish looks good and my friends ordered it but I didn't get around to trying it. I've also had some of the chicken dishes but none worth mentioning. I did try their dumplings once and heed my advice: it's absolutely nothing like what the picture shows. They give you this picture of some nice potstickers, but in actuality, you are presented with a round lump shaped dumpling. The actual taste of it was fishy, and by that I mean it tasted like fish to me. It was just weird overall. Now whenever I walk in here and see more or less the same people, it's hard to keep a straight face because they're probably thinking, "Dis guy again." -- And yes I can be racist because I'm also Chinese, that's how it works right? I'm wondering how long until I can just march up to the counter and be like "Yeah, I'll have the usual"
google avatar

Yelp
We ordered to go and waited in the restaurant for the food. They were friendly and fast! Got home and I was impressed with the shear amount of food...we had leftovers... I had the bourbon chicken with fried rice and an eggroll. Excellent!!! My husband had no complaints about his sweet and sour chicken. We had ordered crab rangoons and fries dumplings to try them... My husband loved the crab rangoons but we both LOVED the dumplings. They were the best I've had anywhere. And usually you get 8 small dumplings for the same price...but these were BIG dumplings and they were awesome!!! I hope to go back to try some of their other dishes. The dinner combo plates are about 7.50 and you can't beat that for what you get! Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
We have ordered from Wok N Roll for years and it has gradually down graded. I understand that this town is filled with traffic but every time it ends up taking an hour to have the food delivered. When we get the food its nearly cold. My family got sick the last time we ate the food from Wok N Roll. So, if your interested in paying full price to eat cold/old Chinese food- This is the place for you -- Good Luck.

Fernando M.

Yelp
This place is really good in my opinion. I always order for delivery and they come about 5.5 'Miles to reach me. The food is always hot and delicious on arrival. Great Asian food!!

Cam M.

Yelp
**READ THIS** Do yourself a favor, and never order from this poor excuse of a "restaurant." My girlfriend and I tried to place an order of 20 dollars worth of food, and the restaurant proceeded to call my girlfriend 5 times in the span of 10 minutes, asking for incredibly personal details. For the first call, the restaurant called my gf then proceeded to hang up saying "wrong number." Then 2 minutes later a different person from the same number called her saying her credit card was expired (which it is not), yet we gave them a different card anyway just hoping to get food at this point, and we were told our order was being prepared. Then a couple more minutes later the manager called her saying ID was required upon delivery. When my gf asked why that was necessary, the manager began to scream at her over the phone in Chinese, and we proceeded to cancel our order. This has been the literal worst ordering experience I've had in my short 20 years of life, do yourself a favor and do not give these slimy people your money.
google avatar

Krystie N.

Yelp
Egg foo young for me, bourbon chicken for my partner, both dishes were not the best. Only ate 1/3 of my food. It's quick and convenient, but don't expect the best Chinese food in town.
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
Pretty good chinese take out place, I would say one of the tastiest in town. the food is pretty fresh and they make the food fast. You can also order their food thorugh campusfood.com and they will deliver (but this is only for people who live fairly close to the restaurant, if you live too far out they won't deliver).
google avatar

Helen R.

Yelp
Their wonton soup is the best! I also like their sweet and sour chicken. The people provide great customer service and are nice people.
google avatar

Ed B.

Yelp
After reading some reviews on here I couldn't believe people actually liked this place. This restaurant must pay yelp a lot of money. Out of the "recommended reviews" they have ten showing and most are four stars or so. I recently found out about the "not recommended reviews". Out of the ten that were hidden 9 of them were one star. Seems a bit odd. Gotta love yelp
google avatar

Abbi R.

Yelp
This is the best Chinese food we have ever had. My boyfriend and I have ordered from here several times and have never once been disappointed in a single dish. Delivery is always super fast! We've enjoyed both meat based dishes and vegetarian dishes and love them all. Their Lo mein is amazing!!!
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
Rude no manners. Come in thru the door I say hi, hello, nothing! Food is a 4 on a 1-10 scale. Large order fail. Still looking for a take for our take out Friday's.
google avatar

Jennifer Z.

Yelp
There are certain dishes that are good. Stick w the beef and broccoli or the shrimp and broccoli...very cheap lunch specials great for college students
google avatar

Melinda H.

Yelp
I am utterly surprised that I have yet to review this place! It sounds really strange, but when I go to Gainesville, this is one of the places that I MUST STOP BY. I love the food there, and sure you might look at it and think to yourself, wow this is some pretty generic Americanized Chinese food, but I still think it is amazing. You have to get the dumplings. They are fresh, made to order, and handmade, they put dumplings at other restaurants to shame, and it comes with that I like to call crack sauce. It is very thick dough wrapped around juicy pork. Definitely something that everyone should try!! Best generic Americanized Chinese food you'll find.
google avatar

Gabriel R.

Yelp
OMG I couldn't image my life without their Homestyle Tofu! And YES I have spent THOUSANDS on it over the years.. worth every penny!! Hands-down the BEST Chinese in Gainesville, bar none, especially for vegetarians like me! I have travelled far and wide, and have not yet come across a better recipe for crispy delicious homestyle Tofu like they make here. Its incredible, and yes I am going there today to eat after I finish my review!! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

Cole K.

Yelp
Ridiculous is all I can call this pathetic Chinese place, my friend is allergic to Broccoli and request no broccoli and was rudely told NO. Never have I been to a place that you can't request something to not be in your meal, I asked to speak to a manager and was once again rudely told NO, this pathetic place won't be around for long at this rate

Cali K.

Yelp
I usually enjoy their food very much, but the past three times I have ordered delivery from them, the food has been hard and not appealing. I am very disappointed that in just one year their quality has gone down so much.
