I had a great experience at Wok Wok. We made the reservation last minute but were seated fast. The food was very good, service was quick, and very worth the value! The portions were very big and filled us up. The Calamari is a must try. Always a must come when in Chinatown!!!

On this evening I met up with two good friends of mine and one of them recommended this place for the quality of the food and price. We all got our own individual dish (not all pictured), I had the green curry with a side of white rice! Talk about delicious 🤤, veggies were fresh and just the right amount of protein (I chose chicken). All three things, plus 3 lychee drinks we all tried (delicious too) under 70 dollars! Super happy with this find and will definitely be coming back again

We came here after a quick Google search. The food was so fresh and delicious. The spicy food was really good, but you could still taste all the flavors. We got the roti with curry, calamari, chicken lettuce wraps, & the mango sticky rice. Thai iced tea was on point. David helped us choose dishes and was so friendly. All the waitresses were attentive & helpful. Food was fresh and made to order. Also this restaurant is very affordable. Highly recommend!

The food always brings me back. Although it is not as hot 🌶️ as i’d like for it to be, it’s still delicious and I can’t seem to avoid getting more than 1 entre for myself.

My first time here ,**Nasir Lawmakers: A Malaysian Gem** Nasir Lawmakers is a must-visit for any Malaysian food enthusiast. Their *roti canai* is a crispy, flaky delight, perfectly cooked and served with a variety of delicious dipping sauces. The *laksa* is another standout dish, with a rich, flavorful broth and a generous assortment of toppings. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal with friends and family.

Absolutely loved all the items we tried. Everything seemed fresh, and seasoning was on point. It is a simple restaurant, so don't expect any fancy seating but if you are looking for some good Asian food then this is definitely one of the places to try.

Great value for what you get. Place is a gem. Roti canai - one of the better ones I've had. 4/5 Nasi lemak with rendang. Initially tasted great but then a bit too sweet to my liking. Think it needed a salty sauce to it like sambal. 3.75/5 Wok wok bee hoon mee with shrimp. Very flavorful. 4.5/5

Ate here for the first time last Friday. Really amazing and authentic Malaysian food! We started with chicken satay which was flavorful and cooked with perfectly (not rubbery like some places). The oyster omelet) similar to Taiwanese oyster omelet), was flavorful with fresh oysters. The Hainan chicken was a generous portion, and also very good. The chicken rendang was soooo flavorful and spicy! It's down a short flight of stairs, but decor is nice- reminds me of an updated country side restaurant/corner store. Service is fast and friendly. They even have buttons on the table to call for the waiter silently. Great idea! This will be my go-to restaurant for Malaysian food when I am in Chinatown.

I'll have to come back and try their entrees. I stopped by and honestly wasn't super hungry so I just got appetizers that I didn't even finish and had to takeout. The mixed satay skewers were really good. I wished the roti was thicker though.

Back for more - this time tried out the golden fried calamari and the Chinese noodles (with gravy) as something different to try. All so good as expected!

I love Wok Wok because it is such a neighborhood staple in Chinatown. They accept card and cash (cash is cheaper) and they have the coziest space downstairs. They have a diverse menu with dishes from Malaysian and Thai cuisine. The Thai Tea here is also one of my favorite! It's sweet and milky and will keep you wanting more. Honestly all their dishes are delicious here. I got the Thai pineapple fried rice and my friend got the Char Kway Teow we loved it!

A casual spot for southeast Asian cuisine. We visited a couple times, and the nasi lemak and roti canai were our favorite!

Wok Wok is one of the hidden gems in Chinatown tucked away downstairs on Mott Street. It's not overly crowded but does fill up at times so try to go early! We ordered the mixed satay skewers, fish balls, pineapple pork fried rice and the chow kway teow. Everything came out quickly and the service was on point with the server constantly refilling our waters and checking in on us. My favorite was the skewer appetizers as it left such a flavorful taste. It's a must order. Even though we were not a big party, they seated us at a long spacious table. Appreciate the hospitality and will be coming back for more soon!

Great food all around, especially the char kuey teow! Not 100% like it is in Malaysia, but probably the closest I've had in the US! Great service, too.

One of my go-to spots in Chinatown! Everything is affordable and the owner is chatty/friendly. The menu is extensive, with plenty of options from rice, to stir fried noodles, to noodle soups. Went on a Fri night as a party of 6 at 7:15 pm and there was ample seating. The restaurant filled up shortly after though. We got a few orders of Roti Canai and Chicken Satay Skewers for the table to share - great, standard apps to start. You also can never go wrong with their Pad Thai or Hainanese Chicken - both solid, classic Malay/Thai entrees. Overall, everything was delicious and yummy. Great place with no reservations needed!

Delicious, affordable AND friendly. Please come here and eat all of the things. Shoutout to David for providing such amazing insight (along with waitresses for being amazing as well) on the entire menu. He was not kidding when he said everything was tasty. It the cutest and cleanest little spot in Chinatown. My friends and I ordered drinks and a bunch of apps to share and the total was only like 60 bucks. That's so cheap for the city. Go and get amazing Malaysian food.

Good spot in Chinatown for some Thai food. I have came here before but not recently, I decided to try something new and got the Thai basil stone pot bowl, which was good, but can be better. There was alot more rice compared to meat. The meat was a thin layer covering the rice. The minced meat had so much of the flavor, but when mixed there wasn't enough of the flavor. The mixed satays were delicious, you can't go wrong with ordering those. As for the laksa noodles, they were tasty and I loved the egg noodles and soup combo, it paired really well. Workers were nice and came around to refill our water, however the food took pretty long to come considering there were only a few tables occupied.

For the price, this restaurant, slyly located in the basement level of a building in Chinatown (easy access & discoverability from the street though), is fairly priced and features a cool atmosphere to visit with friends. The food is good and portion sizes are decent, and each person can expect to pay $20-40 with tax/tip, not bad for the good service and vibes you're getting in Chinatown. It's pretty chill most weeknights (unsure about weekend rush) so getting a table isn't hard, and the staff is friendly and pretty attentive. Visit this place for lunch or dinner!

The food usually hits, but today the flavors felt watered down. I will say, the roti always hits, 10/10. If you order one thing, it would be that. It was busy around dinnertime. Kind of loud and a few tourists came in.

I was a solo customer and ordered the pad see ew yesterday and the dish has no flavor and every other bite had an eggshell!! I originally thought it was crunchy peanuts but NO! The noodles are all broken up and the chinese broccoli was not sweet and fresh--it was borderline bitter. The dish was edible, but not good. I would not recommend it unless they change up the recipe or at the very least check if the egg had shells in it before cooking. The only good thing about my visit was the malaysian halo halo dessert. That was good, but I didn't come here to eat dessert.

The food is decent. The menu has changed a few times and it is now smaller but I think quality is a little better and food comes out a little faster than it used to. They speak English so no problem ordering.

Hidden gem! Delicious Malaysian food at a very reasonable price. The popcorn chicken had a subtle coconut fragrance and flavor that I found intriguing. The Roti Canai was flakey on the outside but soft on the inside. The Beef Rendang had a rather unique flavor that set it apart from generic Southeast Asian curry. Down in the basement in Chinatown, but rather modern with vibrant decor. The ladies waiting tables didn't speak much English but were attentive. I especially appreciated the cleanliness of the place!

Came here on a recommendation for the beef/chicken skewers which were great. Satay sauce paired very well. The popcorn chicken wasn't the best, mostly because of the lack of crisp, but could be due to the fact that I ordered takeout. Seasoning was on point, wish there was more basil added. The Roasted Hainanese Chicken was great too (it does come with bones though, to my dismay when I bit down at first). Wide variety of cuisines available, seems like a mix of Malaysian, Thai, Cantonese, Chinese, etc.

Penang Assam Laksa - texture is more watery than the regular laska but flavor was good. Complex with fish, tamarind, lime spicy flavor. Hope this dish would actually has protein, we didn't pay attention when we ordered. It came with raw cucumber and onion is chunky slice which feels a bit out of place and just filling the bowl. Bacon Crab Cheese Ragoon - not surprised can't really see/taste any crab, mostly bacon and cream cheese. Also very thin filling. Service was attentive and friendly. 4%+ for CC payment.

Delicious food. Friendly manager. Efficient service. Lots to choose from on the new menu with helpful photos. We started with the chicken satay and roti canai. For entrees we had the kue teow, grilled chicken over rice, and basil and chicken clay pot. Everything was good. We stuck to mostly the Malaysian dishes but you could also do Thai and Chinese dishes.

Food/Drinks: The food and drinks here were absolutely incredible. Everything was packed with flavor and balanced really well with each other. The shrimp rolls and the roti were some of my favorite appetizers, while the Indo Mee Goreng was by far the best thing I've had there. For drinks, everything was just so good. The Iced Milo Vanilla Float and Passion Soju Cocktail were nice and sweet and paired perfectly with our meal. It was so good that I even took extra food to take back home for my family. The mango sticky rice also had a good contrast in temperatures which was interesting but somehow favorable. It was the perfect thing to end off our meal with. Service: The server would could by and check on us and there was a call button on every table. They would run over as soon as the button was pressed and we didn't have to wait long for food either. Ambiance: It was a nice and cozy spot downstairs in Chinatown, and the decor was honestly pretty cute. There was warm and somewhat dim lighting which we all liked and we were all talking about how much we liked everything.

(Overall: 69% | D) - Overall, there is a lot of variance with the quality of takeout here so it is hard to say, but there are a series of notable flaws of note. (Roti Canai: 92.5% | A) - The roti was well made -- texturally soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The coconut curry was fragrant and had a spicy backbone with tender chicken and potato. (Mango Sticky Rice: 45% | F) - This dish was very small and overall really disastrous. The rice is too mushy. There are claims of pandan coconut flavoring which sounds great but none of that flavor is coming through. Finally, the mango was underripe. (Pad See Ew: 70% | C) - I ordered a a mild version but it was very spicy. I found that flavors to deviate too much from what I was expecting from a Pad See Ew. Additionally, the noodles were lumpy. Great noodles! Got the noodles with beef off classpass, and picked up. It was quick, and an open restaurant. Lots of space and clean bathrooms. Service was super kind. The noodles were really soft, and it was flavorful. Comfort food

First time here, Service was great and fast food: all of the food are pretty good from roti to vegetables to beef the only thing i thought was just ok was white curry, didn't know there was noodles inside, where the curry soup was nearly dry up. other than that, it was great.

Came here for lunch after a coworker suggested it. The place was nice and intimate. Nice decor. The staff was very attentive and even suggested what I should get. I ordered the Spicy Basil Rice with Chicken. It was served in a sizzling hot stone bowl that kept my food hot the entire time. The food was very flavorful and was overall delicious. I also ordered a Thai Iced Tea, which was good. I will definitely be back.

What happened to this place? It used to be decent. Looks like the menu has expended. Ordered take out of pad see ew. It was Ewwwww.. the veggie was not even green, turned yellow already. Do not get the Thai food.

I went during a less busy time. The food recommended by the serve was phenomenal. I keep remember the Nan I had. OMG it was incredible. Had some Indian inspired flavors. I will be coming back.

This place was delicious!!! Wandered in looking for food after other plans fell through. There were 7 of us and we needed a place that took card- so we hadn't had a lot of luck. David hooked us up with great seats and made it work and then provided great service. Left with a full bellies and lots of laughs. Only complaint was that food came out at different times- but that just demonstrated that it was all freshly made. :)

Lovely little underground restaurant. The owner is so sweet and friendly, he goes around to each table just to have a chat with everyone who enters. It feels very welcoming! Food was delicious as well. It was my first time ever having laksa, so I didn't know what to expect, but it exceeded my expectations. The Beef Curry Laksa was tasty, filling, and perfect for a cold rainy night. Highly recommend!

Phenomenal food. Hainanese chicken was delicious. Bee Hoon Mee noodle dish hit the spot! Cozy atmosphere and delicious hot tea. Halo Halo was delightful and worth eating on a cold winter's night. I cannot wait to come back and try more on the menu! Service was impeccable - all the water and tea refills.

Pretty awesome that Wok Wok is still so fabulous after so many years. Super regulars from years ago, and take out occasionals during the pandemic. Great to be back inside for great food made with heart. Highest recommendations. Every dish is a dream to the senses. Wonderful service & drinks too

One of my favorite favorite FAVORITE Malaysian restaurants to eat at. Especially in Chinatown when I have no where to go eat or don't really have much cravings, this is a definite go to spot. Their Thai iced tea is a must get every time (it is a bit on the sweeter side so I usually add some water as I drink: pro tip you can drink more like that too ;) My friend and I roti canai always get at least 2 orders of the roti canai and we ALWAYS demolish within the first 5 minutes. The beef satay is SUPER delicious as well as the peanut sauce they give makes me drool as I type this right now. (These two are MUST GETS!!) Other dishes are super good and authentic as well! Pad thai (classic), nasi lemak, dry Pearl noodle, etc! These dishes are also great choices for entrees! Atmosphere is great as well, staff is super super friendly and very nice! There is a button you can click once you need service if you don't see them around which is a great bonus that I think more restaurants should implement. They also have a QR code you can scan after your experience with them and you receive a FREE appetizer of choice on your next visit! (They highly encourage you to scan it- who doesn't love free food?!) This restaurant is on the lower level, so be careful when walking down the stairs (it is pretty steep)!

It's like a little hole-in-the-wall because you have to go downstairs to the restaurant. I like their Malaysian "street food" theme. Their service was great and reasonably priced. It was just my 2 of us and since they weren't too busy, they seated us at a 4 seater instead of making us sit at a 2 seater table, which I very much appreciate in Chinatown. PanFried Seafood Noodles- did not like it as much because they put a little too much soup in it so the taste was bland and the too much soup made all the noodles soft and I usually like to have a little bit of crunch in it. Chicken Satay - probably my FAVORITE. such good flavor. It was like a mix of a sweet and savory taste. I actually preferred it without the peanut sauce on the side but if u like peanut sauce. There's a sight twist to the peanut sauce too. Char Siu Wonton Noodles with clear soup on the side - not sure if that's the name. Reminds me of me making dry ramen noodles at home and mixing it with soy sauce but their sauce was obviously better. It is a strong salty flavor but I still liked it. The clear soup was just a plain black pepper soup. Roti Curry - so they have 5 different varieties of this. We chose to try the scallion pancake one. But they had the original Roti, cheese quesadilla and another one that I can't remember. Only thing is I wish they gave us 2 pieces of chicken for the 2 of us. It had 1 potato and 1 chicken in it and other places I've been to give you 2 so that it's a good app for sharing. Overall, would definitely come back again to try other things on their menu.

Nestled in the basement of one of the storefronts on Mott St, Wok wok is a great place for good Southeast Asian food. It has been around for a few years, so we were surprised when we were the first ones dining in on a weekday night. Later in the night, more diners did come by and they do quite a decent amount of takeout. We got: - Penang Char Kway Teow - mild Malaysian style stir fried rice noodles. These noodles had enough wok hei - a Cantonese term for a specific charred food aroma - to satisfy our noodle cravings. - Black pepper stone rice bowl with fried egg & chicken - Roti: I will say I've had better roti elsewhere in Chinatown - the bread felt a bit stale although the flavors were there. A decent place for tasty food - it was not the best food, but for no wait and fast service, it is a good spot!

Easy to get reservations if you want to eat in, but there's mostly takeout. There's a button at the end of the table if you want the waiters to come, which was easy. It's very crowded in the basement, but it's Chinatown. Food was incredible. Everything we got was great food. We loved the stone pot rice and laksa. Highly recommend coming with friends and sharing dishes.

Pro tip for this restaurant: first things first, check in on Yelp for a free Thai Iced Tea! It's a yummy and refreshing way to start the meal, especially during the summertime, and gives you something to sip on while deciding what to order. To start off, the appetizers we got were popcorn basil chicken and roti. To be honest, I've had better popcorn chicken with less batter, so this item personally is lower rating. Roti was very solid and crispy, and the curry dipping was a good compliment. For the entrees, we ordered the hokkien char mee and the char kway teow. Both noodle dishes have shrimp, chicken and beef, but the first one was slightly more flavorful and salty since they use dark soy sauce. Both are highly recommended dishes. The other popular to order from here are the beef chow fun and hainanese chicken. The service was impeccable, and they were very kind to us even though there was a small language barrier when we asked questions about some dishes. The interior of this space when you walk in is a lot bigger than expected, since you need to go downstairs from street level.

Came to wok wok to get some comfort food and decided to get the eggplant with chicken and salted fish. It was very delicious and the eggplant and chicken was cooked just right. The service was great and even added a egg on top that compliments the meal very well. Ambiance was pretty chill with some locals and new comers coming in but definitely a great spot for a quick lunch or comfy vibe.

I ordered Pad Thai and grilled chicken satay. The "rat on a stick" was actually tasty, though the peanut sauce that came with it was the worst that I've had. The chicken Pad Thai was ALSO the worst I've ever had. The chicken was overcooked, kind of dry and tasteless. The noodles were totally stuck together and clumpy. They had some taste. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Not awful, just not exciting. The pork with Chinese brocolli was really soggy pork belly, not crispy at all. The pineapple chicken was bland and disappointing. Not the worst but not great either.

Might be easy to overlook the steep stairwell as the restaurant is in the basement. The curry beef stew was really good and the stir fried basil pork has enough ginger flavor to make my ancestors proud but was way too overwhelming for me. Perhaps it's due to the takeout packaging. But had many better versions of this dish. Hard pass next time. Their weekday lunch & dinners are pretty quiet, so there may be no one to help you if you just stand in the front trying to get your food. Overall, the flavors of the curry beef stew was fantastic and I'll probably be back to try some of their other dishes.

Food is good but the service is shit. We were seated immediately but waited 40+ minutes for our food to arrive. People who were seated after us got their food, both appetizers and mains before we got our first appetizer. When we asked what was taking so long, they said it's because we ordered a lot of appetizers but we only ordered 1. Horrible service. Would not recommend.

Came here to catch up with a friend after work and was not disappointed in the food! After walking down the stairs, I was greeted by a cozy and warm area with a good amount of seats and some spices/sauces in the back for sale. We got a Stone Rice Bowl with Chicken, Eggplant Dish, Pork Chops, and a bowl of white rice for the two of us. All the dishes were quite tasty; my personal favorite was probably the Pork Chops because of the seasoning and crisp! For two people, this was surprisingly quite filling and not too expensive for a Manhattan dinner. Would definitely come back to try some of the different Rice Bowls and dishes!
