Beautiful park set on the edge of the river. From there, you can watch the boats float by and the sunrise ripple on the water. The place is quiet in the early morning with just a few joggers and walkers. A nice stretch of riverwalk lets you stroll for quite a while, and the whole area is pretty clean and cared for. If you go further north/east along the water, you can find some beautiful murals. All in all, sunrise there was one of my favorite parts of a day in New Orleans.

Google
This was a nice park. I didn't see much of the park itself because I was attending the French Quarter Festival. The waterfront view of the park was really nice as well as being able to take a stroll in the boardwalk. If you're waking a dog or just out for a leisurely stroll this would be a great place to get away and enjoy. If you're visiting the area and need a break from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street this could be a great opportunity to take the trolley or even take a walk and get a little peace and relaxation with a view of the ships and other scenery.

Google
Lovey walk along river and when French quarter festival on it is great! Well set up but still plenty of path to walk. Seeing the steamboats is great.

Google
Perfect! Love that there’s a place to walk by the water in NOLA and enjoy the scenery

Google
Was a very nice park well taken care of, had a little concession stand had a lot of good stuff there, I definitely would visit this place again

Google
The place is okay but not really much to do. There's a nice long Riverwalk path for you to go down. Starts from the French market and takes you through the park and all the way to the aquarium and the outlet. The bridge lights up at night but other than that, I don't think there's much going on

Yelp
Woldenberg Park is right next to the Mississippi River and is a great place for a nice stroll. It is named after philanthropist Malcolm Woldenberg, who founded what is known today as the Sazerac Company. If you're in the French Quarter you'll most likely walk through here as you go up or down along the water. On one end is the Audubon Aquarium and the Riverwalk Outlets. On the other end is the French Market, Cafe du Monde, and the middle of the French Quarter. There's a lot of green and space to roam and lounge around. One cool art installation along the park is the New Orleans Holocaust Memorial which is worth a visit. Woldenberg was active in New Orleans's Jewish community which could be the reason for the memorial's placement.

Yelp
A small but lovely park along the river. We paused on our way into the aquarium to watch the steamboats do their lil dancey dance. I really liked the haunting circus music, but my companions did not lol. We took in the sculpture garden and more river-side views on our way out of the aquarium and back into the French quarter. A cute little park with a bit of history attached, you can read some of the details along the way.

Yelp
This is another of New Orleans nice parks. It is located right off of the Mississippi River and named after its primary financier, philanthropist Malcolm Woldenberg. There is even a statue of Woldenberg at the park of him sitting on a bench with a kid. $5 mil will get you that. Other of the park's art include the Holocaust Memorial sculpture, the Monument to the Immigrant, and "Ocean Song. My favorite was Holocaust Memorial sculpture. It is an interactive/illusion type piece that was created by Yaacov Agam. Depending on the angle that you look at the sculpture dictates what you see. I loved it. It has lots of art, lots of green space, a small outdoor amphitheater and it is also the location of the Audubon Aquarium. The parks runs from the Moonwalk at the old Governor Nicholls Street Wharf to the Aquarium. This is where you would also catch the ferry to go over to Algiers or the paddle boat dinner cruise. It spans 16 acres and there are a few paid parking lots nearby or metered street parking just a short distance away. It is a beautiful park and very picturesque. The park dates back to the 1989, so it does not have the historical importance of many other the other New Orleans parks. Prior to being a park, the land had been old wharves and warehouses. The park also features an awesome water front paved trail, for walking, jogging, walking a dog or biking. You will find picnic tables near the amphitheater and benches along the park that looks out into the water. In the summer the park has a 90-foot linear splash pad located near the aquarium. The park does not have any playground areas, or restrooms, so, keep that in mind. Fun fact: This is where the Zulu crew lands for Mardi Gras every year on Fat Tuesday and they also host concerts and art festivals here as well. As I mentioned, this is a very well maintained park that is right off the water. you can find an organized concert or an impromptu band jamming here. It has a bunch of the city's flavor. I have been here many times and have alway liked this place. This is definitely a place you need to check out while in the city.

Yelp
This is actually the place where they dropped off the first slaves. It's a few monuments that recognize that more of a placard, but right here at the crescent is where they dropped off the first slaves in 1700

Yelp
Named after philanthropist and park investor Malcolm Woldenberg (1896-1982), the park is a sliver of green space that stretches about four city blocks along the Mississippi River in the French Quarter. EXPERIENCE: We ended up here by chance as we wandered the city with daiquiris-in-hand. From the street, we couldn't see what was beyond this oddly tall staircase which seemed to lead to nowhere, but turns out it's part of the area's strong levees. There was lots of space to spread out and enjoy the views of the muddy river and iconic riverboats going by. A handful of benches are peppered throughout, with gardens, grassy areas, jogging paths, and a small holocaust memorial. There's a good-sized aquarium and IMAX theater at the west end but we didn't go in. If you're wanting to jump on one of the riverboats, you'd access the piers from the west side of the park as well. Opposite on the east end is a gazebo that looks like it doubles as a stage for special events. OVERALL: A quaint little park perched on a levee. How often do you get to experience that?

Yelp
Woldenberg Park sits in an amazing location it sits along the Mississippi River on one side and the French Quarter on another! We went to concerts in the Park. It was pretty with the trees throughout and the River as a view. After enjoying the show, we walked through the French Quarter. The Aquarium also sits in the Park. We didn't go througH on this trip, but have enjoyed it when we have gon me in the past.

Yelp
Want a casual space to walk along side the Mighty Mississippi, watching barges and huge ships, away from the hectic bustle of the Quarter; look no further than Woldenberg Park. There is also a selection of sculptures from renowned artists to see. Woldenberg is along the Mississippi, roughly between the shops at Jax Brewery, finishing up at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas.

Yelp
I decided to take a walk on the banks of Mississippi at the end of a long symposium. The sun was resting on the western sky almost ready to retire. The river was on its full, the breeze was filled with moisture but it felt cool and refreshing. The little girl was very eager to feed the seagulls. The unique symphony created by the cry of seagulls and the laughter of this young girl make this moment memorable.
google avatar

Karen T.

Yelp
Good for waterfront walks with space to stroll without being crowded. Nice breezes from the water and great views of the bridge and paddleboats on the Mississippi. There are statues and art along the greenspace, including a lovely monument to immigrants, which is worth checking out.
google avatar

RuthMarie S.

Yelp
I have always enjoyed crossing the Mississippi River on the ferry from the West Bank Algiers Ferry Landing Terminal to Canal Street and walk along the Woldenburg Park Improvement have been made here and there but it is nice and has been fairly maintained
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Nice riverfront park along the river with some statues and lots of places to relax. If you're doing a steamboat cruise this area is really close by and worth a quick walk.
google avatar

Yelp
It was here in this park that I first laid eyes on the Mississippi River. It was a sunny January day, and the weather was perfect for a riverside stroll. When you hear about a fabled river for your entire life, it's pretty exciting to see it in person...even if it isn't the most attractive body of water. Woldenberg Park itself is well-maintained, open and home of the compelling Immigrant monument. If you're in NOLA and want a nice view of the river, you should stop by this centrally located park.

Yelp
This place was absolutely stunning in breathtaking I really enjoy just walking the length of the park This place is definitely worth a check out if you plan on being in New Orleans

Yelp
Lovely walkway and park on the banks of the MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI hang out and watch paddlewheeler NATCHEZ come and go to the sounds of LIVE shipboard music Recent visit during FQ Fest... stages were set up in this magnificent park. One of my favourite spots in the city.
google avatar

George A.

Yelp
This park provides a nice little stroll along the water. It has a decent sized patch of grass and there was more than a few things to look at as we made our way down to the outlet stores.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute park along the Mississippi River with great scenic views! Great for a nice leisurely stroll with your children or pets. Definitely a nice, refreshing atmosphere in contrast to the fast-paced exciting party life on Bourbon Street. Definitely best to visit this place in the early morning before it gets too crowded. I initially stumbled upon this place as I was staying at the Sheraton NOLA down the road which had no grass for my dogs to accomplish their business in. There's a wide stretch of grass which my pups enjoyed running around in early morning before it got too crowded and pet strict. The river walk was a great place for my dogs to stretch out their legs and get extra pets and snuggles with random dog loving people walking out and about. Great views, great people, all within the city of NOLA...what more can you ask for?
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
Beautiful riverfront park, here's my breakdown: -Nice stroll through this park with views of the Mississippi River -Cool statues and art around the park -many restaurants within walking distance -you can ride the ferry and riverboat, no reservations prior needed -Nice and quiet contrast to Bourbon Street
google avatar

Yelp
Woldenberg Park is a fabulous place to stroll along the Mississippi River! A quick walk from anywhere downtown will get you to the river walk area that's a peaceful stroll with nothing to be heard but the cry of seagulls, occasional sounds of large freight liners making their way down the Mississippi, and the peaceful sound of the river itself flowing by! There's a Holocaust memorial along the way, as well as a beautiful monument dedicated to immigration. Kinda symbolic in a way!
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
A picturesque promenade right next to the Mighty Mississippi. Lots of benches, good people watching, the only thing that would make it better is something to eat and drink. You can even watch the steamboats on the river and the ferry leave from the adjacent pier.
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
Woldenberg park is a wonderful way to stroll along the river. Hard to believe this idyllic park (and location for many an outdoor festival) was carved out of old warehouse/wharf space just 20-ish years ago. Love the statue of Mr. Woldenberg on a bench. -1 star because some of the infrastructure (stages, sidewalks, etc) are in serious need of rehabilitating.
google avatar

Dominik D.

Yelp
For some reason it's not as much on the radar as some of the biggest city attractions and I think that's a real shame. Between the sculptures, the river views, and the non-existent price tag it should be on every tourist's list.
google avatar

Dylan M.

Yelp
The riverfront park is a great place to relax and view the Mississippi River. Good for people watchin and listing to the Natchez calliope. I mainly use it as part of my running route. The riverwalk that aligns itself with the park is a great area to run. The mile-long walkway is flat and pothole free (a rarity in New Orleans). Sure it's a gutterpunk hangout during the day and overpopulated with tourists but if you come early in the morning while hungover tourist sleep the morning away it's quit calm. Wonderful to have open-lands along the river. Also checkout nearby crescent park for an additional riverfront retreat.
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
I like walking along the riverfront. Relaxing stroll. The aquarium is here. Holocaust memorial. Statues about stories of immigration. Take the ferry to the other side from here. Watch the Natchez steamboat take off.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
Great park that abuts the Mississippi River. There are plenty of benches and green spaces to explore throughout the park. There were families walking dogs, tourists, people just sitting on benches watching the boats go by on the River. The Park was well maintained during our visit and is one way to access the Aquarium. Additionally, there are several statues in the park worth stopping to inspect. There are also several easy access points by street nearby, so if you park or need to call a car service, you have options. If you are in the French Quarter for any amount of time the Park is worth checking out, even if you just have 10 minutes. And, if you have longer, you can do a lot worse than checking out the enormous vessels piloting the Mississippi.
google avatar

Lariesha B.

Yelp
The Woldenberg Park was a very peaceful place to visit we were able to walk the park and see the river and different boats that were docked there. We also caught the ferry which took us across the water it was very short ride but nice to experience. There is also a mall there if you like to shop. The mall was nice and most shops and places to eat were open. Everything was clean and most people wore a mask. Overall is was a great experience
google avatar

Carmela S.

Yelp
Even on the rainy day this was a nice place to walk and watch the steamboat Natchez leaving the harbor. I can't believe the amazing views of the Mississippi from here. I enjoyed the nice paved trail with benches that provide you with a serene walking environment. You can cross over the road from Jackson Square, pass over the railroad tracks and enter to see a fantastic view of the bridge and enjoy something other than beignets and the French Quarter. If you like to take photographs I highly recommend this area and there was some history to take in as well. I will be back next time, hopefully on a sunny day, to soak in the serenity of this slice of heaven in New Orleans.
google avatar

Rhonda W.

Yelp
little park by Mississippi river with public bathrooms that I took advantage of. This is very close to the Café De monde where the bathroom wait is very long ... so if you have to use the bathroom and don't want wait .. walk down to the park.
google avatar

Pegah Y.

Yelp
Woldenberg Park is a lovely park which affords a wonderful view of the Riverfront (of the Mississippi River) in New Orleans. It's connected to the French Quarter and stretches for a while. There are festivals that take place near / in the park, as well as plenty of great statues to look at along the riverfront. The park leads to the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, which has been rated one of the top 10 aquariums in the United States. We visited the aquarium as well, and I'll rate it separately. We had a great time walking along Woldenberg Park in the afternoon. I'd definitely recommend it!
google avatar

John L. H.

Yelp
Woldenberg Park is a great place to stroll and watch the river. This park is a great part of the city. Located along the river wharf, this park was once ugly warehouses. Thankfully some smart urban planner decided that new Orleans needed a great view of the river rather than rusting metal buildings. Sure commerce is great, but tourists and locals love a leisurely stroll by the river. I have never felt unsafe in the park, but I would use caution late at night. It is a bit secluded and police cant drive their cars here. The park can be accessed near the aquarium, or nearly any street on the Quarter side of Canal.
google avatar

Kenny C.

Yelp
Nice little park along the river. Good scenic route if you're headed to or from Frenchman or Cafe Du Monde. Probably a whole lot less sketchy during the day though.

Christina B.

Yelp
Scenic, peaceful, beautiful. I visited while the sun was rising... beautiful experience. Loved the statues & memorials.
google avatar

Wilford L.

Yelp
A nice place to visit for a good Riverfront view. A brief walk to the Aquarium. The Seafood Festival had a very energetic vibe and great foods to sample. The music was complimentary.
google avatar

Rebecca W.

Yelp
Such a lovely patch of green at the riverwalk area that hugs the Mississippi River. I love walking alongside of the river and this is the perfect spot for a stretch or a stop to gaze at the surrounding scenery. Walking distance to many French Quarter attractions, Canal Street, the New Orleans Aquarium and the riverwalk shops! Just this past weekend was the huge set-up for Tyler Perry's live "Passion" production. It was epic to see the stage erected from this area. When the weather is perfect, grab your breakfast and/or lunch to-go and sit on the green here at Woldenberg Park and enjoy the sights and sounds of NOLA. You'll even get a view of the Steamboat Natchez that pulls into the riverwalk to pick-up and drop-off passengers. It's a gem, in my eyes.
google avatar

Allyson G.

Yelp
I come here often because I work in the French Quarter. I'll take a stroll along the waterfront before work, or run after work. It can get pretty populated on a nice day as it borders the French Quarter, with access points next to Café Du Monde. Often, the nomads come here to hang out or play their music. The homeless frequent here, too, but just to sit or rest; I have never once been bothered or begged from them. Very rarely, you might notice that some types of inconsiderate homeless or nomads or just regular jerks, will use areas as a bathroom... I guess when you got to go, you got to go...
google avatar

Shannon R.

Yelp
I nice place to spend a couple hours walking around. Nice views and food close by. It's nice to hear the steam boat play music as you walk around.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Nice area but trash everywhere. Very unfortunate! We still had a very enjoyable experience walking the grounds.

Hannah A.

Yelp
This was a cute little walk next to downtown! Not exactly a park per say, but it's a different view in the urban area of downtown NOLA!
google avatar

Clarice O.

Yelp
Woldenberg Park is a great hang out place. It is not that far of a walk from the French Quarter, the Aquarium of the Americas, and the Riverwalk. This is a great place to stroll around and take in the views of the river. During Mardi Gras season, this is also a great place to go to as they have performances that are free to the public. And really, the people of New Orleans can always turn performances into a party! Woldenberg Park is a place I love spending time in.
google avatar

Marielle S.

Yelp
So, the name "Woldenberg Park" is kind of misleading. It's not really a park at all. Well, not by typical New Orleans standards. I like that the French Quarter fest is here and that it's right on the river. It gives you a nice view of the bridge. It's always nice to go here on a nice day and enjoy the sights.
google avatar

Shannon S.

Yelp
A great spot for a picnic and a very tight squeeze for festivals. The French Quarter Fest and other events are held here and it can get really crowded very fast in this narrow strip of land. I love fests but I also appreciate this area when it is calm and you can enjoy looking out at the Mississippi River and have a long lazy picnic as the world on the water slowly drifts past.
google avatar

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Woldenberg is good for a quiet, peaceful walk, but also a great venue for festivals - most notably French Quarter Fest, and most recently the Super Bowl Boulevard. It's very scenic, since it's along the river and you can watch boats pass by. There is a ton of empty space, which again, is good for the festivals. It can get a little crowded sometimes, but the same could be said for just about everywhere in NOLA.
google avatar

Jen P.

Yelp
Nice place for a walk or run. My favorite thing to do is let this kids run around. They love looking at the boats and ducks in the water. There is always music along the way.
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
This is right across from Jackson Square, and on the same side of the street of Cafe Due Monde. There's an easy staircase you can go up or a ramp on the side. The view of the St Louis Cathedral is incredible, and then the Mississippi River on the other side is just as amazing. You can walk along the riverfront or sit on one of the many benches and watch the boats go by.
google avatar

Christopher T.

Yelp
Great little park and walkway along the Mississippi River to people watch and see the barges and riverboats plying their trade. You see a little bit of all New Orleans along this wak, both good and bad, but always entertaining. On a beautiful day we just took a couple beers out there and enojyed the view.
google avatar

Swatee G.

Yelp
Love coming to this place with beignets from Du Monde! Great place to stare at the Mighty Mississippi, and enjoy my desserts! It can get crowded with runners, dog walkers, fast walkers and star struck lovers, but the place is still fun!
google avatar

Mel G.

Yelp
Great place to walk right next to the Mississippi River and take in the historical beauty of the French Quarter. I need to come back and check out the Aquarium!
google avatar

Keith F.

Yelp
This park is very pretty and a welcomed addition of green space in this area. It is a great place to walk the dog, people watch, and watch boats floating down the river. There are some interesting sculptures in the area as well as some fountains. I would definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Nick H.

Yelp
Woldenberg Park is not a park in the traditional sense of the word. It is basically a waterfront walkway that follows the Mississippi River. You probably won't actually know that you are even in the park, as there are no signs or any other indications besides a small, out of the way plaque that describes who Woldenberg was. Your first instinct will be to just take a walk by the river, not go to Woldenberg Park. However, a walk by the river will put you in Woldenberg Park....get it? Do what we did...find a spot to sit, preferably by someone playing some kind of brass instrument, relax, and enjoy the breeze that comes off the Mississippi.
google avatar

Nick P.

Yelp
Awesome river front location. French Quarter Fest is always a blast here and I've caught some awesome concerts over the years on the grass.
