I recently had the pleasure of dining at Wolfgang's Steak House in Boston, and the experience left a lasting impression. From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance set the tone for what turned out to be a remarkable evening. While the effort to create a customized dish for our vegetarian companion was appreciated, expanding the menu to offer a more comprehensive range of meatless options could enhance the restaurant's appeal to an even wider audience. Nevertheless, the overall experience at Wolfgang's Steak House was undeniably remarkable, encapsulating the essence of exceptional food, service, and a commitment to creating cherished dining memories.

Our server was not quite accommodating to our table and the service was pretty slow. My friend and I felt a little kind of racism here since our server didn't answer our request but chatted with other customers right next to our table. It could be overreacting but we communicated with another server more than our designated server. We even thought to give our tips to him not that man. 😏 Overall food was delicious but not sure to come again here.

We were in Boston for a date weekend and had a 9 PM reservation. Beautifully decorated, loved the dark wood and wine bottle displays. We arrived slightly early and seated right away. For an intimate date night, we were seated at a table for 6 in front of a window that caught every headlight coming up the street. The waiter barely introduced himself, wasn’t informative about any specialties or well enjoyed items from the menu. When asked about the wines offered, his information very basic and not helpful in pairing them with the details of our meals being prepared. While food temperatures were great, our steak was over cooked and we had to ask multiple times for additional items ordered/needed. Our tuna steak was undercooked in the center to the point it no longer flaked apart. Our appetizer and side dishes were the best parts of the meal.

On a quiet night they pulled out all the stops. Dinner was fantastic as well as desert. Tomahawk and filets all around. The seafood tower was ok quality was great. Overall had a great time and a fantastic meal. Both the service and food would have me up Ming back!

Steak restaurant near downtown Boston. Large dining area, top meat quality, large wine/drinks menu. Meat is well cooked, fresh and well served. Meat comes from various cuts and types. It is expensive but quality is also high. Wine menu is large and wines are from many countries and areas. Appetizers and salads are also good. Giving it 5 stars , because I also liked the not too formal environment and easy to seat / eat style. Location is convenient, near Downtown Boston and subway station.

Good food and good service, what you'd generally expect from a Wolfgangs. Prime rib was excellent and the sides were very good. A but empty on a weekday night but it's a great venue

Beyond 5 stars—My family and I went on Christmas Day for dinner and W O W! Phenomenal service from Tim, our waiter for the evening and Andrew, the general manager. We can’t say enough about how amazing the food and service was. From the drinks, to the appetizers, to the main meal AND dessert……Fabulous!!!!! You have got to go for dinner or lunch ASAP!

Had a great experience there this evening. My wife and I went for our anniversary. The staff was very attentive and courteous. I had a ribeye, and my wife had a filet, which were both outstanding.

Very standard steak house, no surprise and to a degree mediocre. We ordered the porterhouse at medium and it was a bit over cooked.

This restaurant has not been open long. So if you aren't one that can work with the kinks then this place may not be for you. I do have a high tolerance but when the whole time seems off you do become weary. When we walked in we were greeted, asked if we had a reservation and when asked if we wanted to sit in a booth we waited for 2 minutes since the table was not set up. Our initial waiter took our drink order and then said he would check in the back to see what meat was available in the back. Next thing you know we have a new waiter helping us. The 2nd waiter knew what he was doing. He seem like head honcho and made sure all the tables were running smoothly in that joint. To eat/drink we had the following: Moscow mule: wasn't very bubbly drink was flat and the ginger part wasn't really there. Didn't ask for a second drink so that should tell you how that went. Jumbo Shrimp cocktail: 4 jumbo shrimp with cocktail sauce on the side. The shrimp was delicious and was good for 2 people. Ribeye Steak: got it medium and it was perfect. The ribeye was recommended to us by our waiter. Had good amount of meat and fat and was on a bone. I'm not sure if they season their steaks like a lot of steakhouses do but I added lemon and that did it for me. Broccoli: we got sautéed broccoli but there wasn't much to rave about. Kind of seem like broccoli you could find in those microwaveable steam bags. Overall the food was good (oh and they do give you break and butter when you sit down). As I said they are a new restaurant (the server said they opened last year) but I personally would probably wait a bit before I visit again.

Horrible service. The restaurant was basically empty yet the staff was sitting on couching near the bar talking all night. I had to get up and ask if they had forgotten about us. The food was good was good but they should have warned us that "sides" could have been shared. . If I'm going to spend $500 I would rather go to another steakhouse.

A blind imitation of Peter Luger with ludicrous effection. Food and service do not match the interior renovation.

The food is so messed up that it's cracked in New York's reputation. I don't want to pay this money again or recommend it to anyone.

We had the best service! First, we had oysters which were really good. The mignonette was perfect. I had the lamp chops. Perfection. And so much food I had to take it home. He had the special which was Tomahawk Dry aged ribeye and he said hands down amazing. We also had the German potatoes and sautéed broccoli but it wasn't even necessary and it was too much for 2 people. If you go with a group, a side probably feeds 3-4 people. The wine was good. I had the Cabernet and it was really on point with the lamb. Can't complain at all.

Late night dinner, the suggestion are so good! The service are great. Will definitely come next time.

It's not worth trying. Tom was my waiter, and he was so rude. He did not care about providing good service to anyone but Herb Chambers, who was dining at the table next to us. Tom did not check on us at all. It was a battle to get his attention. I'll stick to Mastro's The steak was bland Mash potatoes were tasty Cream spinach was amazing Onion rings trash

Relaxing place, elegant space but not dressy, warm atmosphere, and a nice place to be when it was freezing outside. Friendly staff. We were seated by the window. Portions are to be shared! Expensive lobster but that is everywhere nowadays. Whole lobster was $220. Wine was refreshing. Our bill for a family of 4 was $575.24.

Good food and nice service. Reasonable price. Comfortable! I will visit again later :)

This is the spot. Hugo L. did a fantastic job making the dining experience top of the heap. This *is the* place to be. If you haven't tried it that's on you. OG dry-aged perfection is their daily routine. My new favorite occasion outlet. If you seek the heavens you will find it here.

This restaurant has great decor and service first off. However, I found the food kind of disappointing overall. The best thing you could probably get from this restaurant is the Grilled Chilean Sea Bass. Wolfgang's Crab Cake was a pretty standard crab cake. Sizzling Canadian Bacon was a bit on the fatty side, but who doesn't love bacon? We had a group of 4, and ordered the Porterhouse for three. We got a lot of leftover steak since we ordered plenty of food. I was not amazed at the steak at all, it felt very bland. It did have a nice presentation. The steaksauce provided by them was also too tangy for my tastes. The sides were all mediocre as well.

Came here last week for dinner with family. Had just had Ruth's Chris the night before so was a little wary having steak two nights in a a row. However, it came highly recommended so I had to try it. The restaurant itself is nicely laid out and elegant. Nice seating arrangements and bar area. Very comfortable setting. The service was professional, friendly, and prompt throughout the dinner. We were very happy with our server and those working alongside him. The cocktails were excellent and they also had an extensive wine list which we ordered from. We shared a bunch of appetizers and salads which were tasty. Accompanied by an amazing bread basket. I ordered the filet and it was pretty epic. I have to say it might've been one of the better steaks I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly and it tasted amazing. We shared a bunch of sides which were equally as good. And we topped it off with a few desserts. If I had to pick a weak point in the restaurant, it would have to be the desserts. The pecan pie I got was just ok. But I think the food overall was excellent. This will definitely be my new pick for a steak place when in Boston. Highly recommend Wolfgang's!

So glad we chose the Chilean sea bass!! It was pretty damn delicious! Superb, with just the perfect combination of crisp and yet juicy - so moist and most of all flavorful. Distinctful. "Wolfgang's Salad" is too delicious to share here. You HAVE to try it. Nuf said. Not real excited by the creamed spinach which was super salty (something about not using cream based...etc), but the (replacement) asparagus was a very nice second. We WERE surprised to learn that we were charged for the asparagus as we were under the idea that it was a replacement. Also, be mindful, it took over 40 minutes for our meal to arrive and the restaurant was relatively empty.

Here's another of my fave Boston steakhouses. I dropped in at the last minute but had no trouble finding a table, with a great waiter who guided me to a less expensive wine than the one I'd chosen. The steak was exactly as i ordered "Pittsburgh Rare", the mushrooms he recommended were sensational, the tomato/onion salad like off the vine. I loved everything

New place near opening for long time. Two-person porterhouse big enough for 3-4. Steak very good at this steakhouse. On single visit - compared to major chains Ruth's/Morton's/SW: equal steak; less-nice decor; better service. Patrick our mature server very good/nice and refreshing change from usual Boston 20-something sycophants... Drinks just OK for $20 and not special like what we had at Servia this past week. Lamb chop OK, Brussel sprout OK, steak very nice, desert OK, and cocktails OK. Btw this is not Wolfgang Puck but Wolfgang of Peter Lugar NYC - not sure what first reviewer thinking.

The food is amazing and the porterhouse was perfectly cooked. The service was excellent and the waiters were nice. There is a lot of space in between tables and the booths are very comfortable.

Came in on a Thursday and the restaurant was fairly empty so we were a little nervous. It turned out great. Service was great, our server Tim was really outstanding. Food and drinks were also excellent. It was pricey but seemed high quality. Definitely a good experience.

The ambiance is depressing, maybe that's why it's always empty. The concierge is always too busy to care for clients (good luck trying to get a group reservation). Food is not impressive at all, instead of lobster salad they should call it raw onion salad. NOT recommend, unfortunately.

The restaurant itself is gorgeous and spacious with the ability to bring a comfortable casual to an upscale restaurant. The staff were lovely and attentive. The food was ok, not amazing. I'm always saddened when I can cook something better at home. The lamb chops were over cooked ordered medium and the mashed potatoes were whipped potatoes. The grilled asparagus was parboiled and not fresh. It's a pricey place for mediocre food. The wine as well expensive and a little over priced. Verdict, will not return. I want to be wowed by a high end steakhouse. The quality of the food just isn't what it should be.

I went there a couple of weeks ago on a Friday. The bartender was amazing and I had one of the best filets I've ever had. Surprised that it wasn't busy at all because everything we and experienced was great. Can't wait to go back.

I soooo wanted to love this place!! it looks great from the outside, I love wine, and it looks like they have a great selection. Which they did. I finally tried it tonight...Service was the worst I have experienced in over a decade. It took a half hour to get my wine, incredibly hard to get my waiter's attention, eventually, I asked for a manager, and it took 10 minutes for the manager to arrive! I told her I think my waiter needs help because it's taking a long time to get things, and she apologized about difficulty getting certain produce, which wasn't even responsive to what I said. . Honestly, I think this is the first time in 20 years or more that I didn't leave a tip. Oh man, I had so wanted to love this place!

The service and waiter were top-notch. The wine list was very expensive and hard to find much under $200/bottle. Yes, there were some under $150 but not much. So, if you want wine you are going to ante up. Food? Shrimp cocktail at $30 for 4 shrimp was overpriced and was not excellent. Yes, they were ok but compared to Capitol Grill they were subpar. French or steak fries were very good as was creamed spinach. The porterhouse? Maybe the best I have ever had. Tender, caramelized, and full of flavor. $130 for 2 was I guess fair, but and this is a big BUT the pricing on sides and wine were very, very high. The pricing and the shrimp keeps my review to 4 stars versus 5. The ambiance was nice. The music was a bit too loud but if you have read past reviews they have dropped the heavy rap and dance music. Before I forget the porterhouse comes out a hyper hot plate. The steak came out perfectly cooked but the plate was so hot the steak will continue to cook on the plate. I would suggest you take all of it off the plate when it arrives unless you want the steak to cook more. Overall great steak but really not sure I am willing to part with that much money when there are so many other options to choose from.

Service was excellent. Our server Mario was very professional and very attentive! The food was great we had Duxbury oysters (excellent) tuna tartare (fabulous) salads, seabass, broccoli, spinach. All perfectly done. Next will be a giant steak! Time well spent. We will be back. Large and comfortable restaurant. Lots of windows.

Great ambiance, tasty but not spectacular steak. It's like Smith's or Capital Grill but not as polished.

Overall a very good steakhouse, but I think as far as value per dollar in Boston you can do better. No real knocks on the food, but there are other steakhouses that just have more of a wow factor to them. The food is high quality but not as good as Grill 23/Mooo, the drinks are good but not great and the price doesn't make up for it. Overall I prefer Abe & Louie's

As a former regular at the Park Ave NY location of Wolfgang's, as well as Bobby Van's, Benjamin Prime, and Peter Luger's itself, I was eager to see Peter Luger style steakhouse in Boston. The ambiance is modern and expansive - with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a see-through wine cellar. I prefer an older style arrangement but open-plan, tall ceilings, and lots of glass, is what they believed people would like in Boston and elsewhere (though they copied the tile for the ceiling, smartly made out of cork so that it doesn't get too loud). The only thing to get here is the steak for two (porterhouse), or if you're by yourself, the sirloin strip. Sides of creamed spinach and "German potatoes" make for a classic trio. If you come here and order lamb chops, or order sea bass, I feel sorry for you - as you didn't do your research. Wolfgang Zwiener worked at Peter Luger before splitting off. There is (or, was) no menu at Peter Luger and only one thing was really on offer: porterhouse for two (or for three, but the insert less tasty sections of meet for that). I see other reviewers who did not do their research, ordered random things off the menu, and complained. The porterhouse is what they do, and the rest of the menu is filler for people who walk in with no idea of the history, expecting a restaurant to cater to whatever they want. The mentions of "bad service" in some reviews might reflect the patrons more than the servers themselves - I've never had a bad experience. In fact the service was better timed in the Boston restaurant than the Park Ave one where the waiters tend to rush you through, pour you too much wine too fast even when you ask them not to. The meat itself will vary from time to time. Most of my steaks at Wolfgang's Boston have not had exactly the same flavor as the ones I've had in New York, and I'm not sure if that was the randomness of it, or because of differences in the aging or where the meat is from, but I hope to have a great steak at the Boston location again.

Great food and service!! Steak was on point. Dessert was amazing, the staff even sang happy bday for my wife. It was an amazing experience and definitely we will be back!!

We were here for a double date and we all agreed that it's not a place we would come back for dinner. Maybe stop by for a drink at the bar but not on our top list for dinner. It's clean and new the menu is just ok not anything impressive. We paid $400+ a couple for 1 bottle of Duckhorn, 2 margaritas, 3 espresso martinis, 1 lychee martini. For dinner we had 2 Sea bass , 1 Rib-eye, 1 chop salad, 1 dozen oysters, cream spinach, brussel sprouts, mash potatoes, and a crab cake..... do the math. It's an $800+ dinner for 4 pp

If I could give this ten stars I would. Terrific service from top to bottom. Very impressive for just its first few months open. Odd location with it being dead on weekends. Would love to see them expand to back bay or seaport one day. As a NY transplant that has been to TriBeCa and the original many times I can say the quality of the food and service did not stutter when branching out to Boston. This will defiantly be on the celebrations/friends in town list. Looking forward to returning!

Classy restaurant in financial district. Loved the high ceiling and the vibe!! Porterhouse steak was hands down the best steak I've ever had in Boston so far. Recommend asparagus for the side, too!

Hubby and I went to Wolfgang's when we had 24 hours to spend in Boston. I can't say enough about the food. The onion rolls to start, German Potatoes, Filet Mignon and Sirloin to finish (no room for dessert)! Be aware that each steak is enough for at least two people. I'm accustomed to shared sides but wasn't aware the steaks were to be shared, too. The sirloin with its natural au jus was amazing (dipped my bread into it too). They have an in-house sauce but it's not needed for the steak, but is tasty with the potatoes! I accidentally flooded my plate with the sauce when I couldn't get it out of the bottle the first few tries. The filet also had a peppercorn "gravy" with it but was too spicy for my liking and not even necessary. The crust on each steak was perfection. Servers were very attentive and accommodating. This place has the makings of high-end fine dining but isn't stuffy like those places. Five star experience!

Is the food as good as the Wolfgang's at 4 Park Ave? Definitely not. Is it still the best steakhouse in Boston? By a mile. Just make sure to get the porterhouse (or really anything but the ribeye; they should honestly just take it off the menu).

Wolfgang Zwiener's extraordinary steakhouse unfortunately has not made it to Boston. Do not expect to receive even close to a similar experience to that which you would receive at one of their locations in NYC. The service here shocks the conscience. 30 minute wait to place drink order. Another 30 minutes to receive the drinks. Dirty glasses. Food and drinks come out 20 minutes apart from each other. Steaks and sides were mediocre, maybe even below what you would expect receive at any other steakhouse in Boston, and does not even come close to being worth the $700 it cost. With the likes of Grill 23, Abe & Louis, and Mortons, this place does not have a chance. The restaurant itself is quite nice, and it has the potential to be a great place to visit in Boston. However, as of right now, it has not lived up to expectations. There is a Ruth's Chris nearby, you'll likely be better off there.

Watch out at the bar. The service is extremely slow and will add money on to your tip. It happened to me Saturday night 10/22/22. Unfortunate. I would not recommend

The decor is nice, the food is ok. The server? Rude and unprofessional. The service provided is absolutely not up to par to what you would expect at an upscale restaurant such as Wolfgang's. After walking past our table like he did not see me, the server with white/grey hair said to his fellow employee "yeah I know"(with an extremely impatient tone and loud enough for our entire table to hear) when being reminded that our table would like some water. When being asked to help cut the lamb chops, this same waiter proceeded to use his hands to touch the lamb chops without cleansing them, or asking for our consent. This is both unsanitary and unprofessional. The service plays a big part in the dining experience, and even though the food was decent, I will not come a second time.

It looks cool from the street, big and bright. But we went on a Friday night around the holidays and is was shockingly dead. It was raining but still less than expected. This kills the atmosphere. For the food we had some great dishes. The appetizers are seafood heavy and lacking many options. But the fries and onion rings on the sides menu helps. Steaks were all great. Lamb was very undercooked but quickly corrected. Definitely felt a lot of pressure from the manager to buy the most expensive items. Service was only okay. I would expect much better service at the pricing of this restaurant.

John and the bartenders took excellent care of us. Attentive and friendly. They graciously made a couple special request cocktails, and they were excellent. The homemade potato chips are great.

The food was really mediocre for the price. We had the tuna tartar and crab cocktail for apps. The presentation of the tuna tartar was just really bad and cafeteria like. It didn't taste good either. We had the New York strip steak and lamb chops for entries. Both were fine but nothing better than what you get at a two dollar sign or even one dollar sign steak house. Cocktail menu was really boring and drinks did not impress either. Service was just ok. We asked for a couple things with the steak, no butter on plate, sauce, etc. the waiter forgot them all. Overall - very disappointing experience. Probably because the food is just not great, the restaurant was basically empty on a Saturday night. Will not recommend or return

Absolutely wonderful meal! The ribeye, lamb and tuna were perfect! Our waiter was attentive, funny and caring without being intrusive. He has just the right balance. We will absolutely visit again and highly recommend!

We had a delightful dinner at Wolfgang's on 2/11. The prime filet was outstanding. Mario was our waiter and he offered us great advice about the Hollywood salad as well which was excellent. Ambiance was perfect and wine list was just right. Great spot!!

Incredibly disheartening! To say the least we walking we were not even acknowledged at the door the manager and hostess were talking to each other. Couldn't find our reservation. Didn't know were the table was. My drink of Tito's and cranberry was just cranberry. The food took 1 hour and the steak was raw!! Took it back again ant it was burnt on the top. Raw in the center still! The sides were cold. The Mac and cheese was like porridge. The GM didn't care and was very insensitive and pushy, seemed racist as well. Long story short the food was left on the table and my birthday evening was shot to shit. We just wanted to go at that point $400 later we didn't even eat!

Wolfgang Puck please step to the congregation. First off the staff were very pleasant, I have nothing bad to say about them. NOW!! the food on the other hand.....for starters my mother always use to say K.I.S.S keep it simple you know the rest. The bread that is brought to the table is trash, keep it simple with warm rolls and butter. Second the crab CAKE, make it a little smaller put 2 on the plate so I can feel I'm getting a bang for my buck $29.99 for one come on WGP. Third we gotta go back to the drawing board with the salmon, give me some flavor. The filet was ok $65 not worth it. Tasted like Texas road house if I'm being honest. Then the last with the hot fudge sundae....come on wolfy I just spent $300 on this meal including tip and you give me a sundae with a third of whipped cream? Where's the ice cream????? With that being said it was boarder line okay, will I come back doubt it...OH WAIT A MINUTE HOW COULD I FORGET THE LOBSTER MAC!!! Lord have mercy you should be ashamed naming it that..WHERE WAS THE LOBSTER??? I gotta call a spade a spade. Will I come back no, recommend...ummm if you wanna spend big bucks on oaky food by all means wine and dine.

I never post reviews however this was a tremendous disappointment. The menu was very limited but moreover the actual food was mediocre at best. The Tomahawk steak was room temperature and not cooked correctly. Seabass was bland and sides were of no import. In acity with the likes of DelFrisco's, Capitol Capitol, Abe & Louie's, etc. you should really bring your A game and not rely on a name. Very disappointed!

Me and my husband went there last week on a Wednesday night. I had made reservations. It was few days before Labor Day so typically the city empties out as everyone heads to the Cape. We were warmly greeted upon entrance and quickly seated with a beautiful view of the illuminated Custom House. Our waiter was very knowledge on the aging process of the different steaks and how they cooked. We where well attended and the food was excellent, I would love to come back in the winter with my girlfriend sit at the same table while the snow falls. The ambiance was warm and cozy . The only draw back is the nearest safe parking is a block away at 1 Boyleston st . So in the rain a gentleman would have to drop his companion off and park the car a block away. Things like this are expected, dinning downtown. The Manager Patrick was a quite pleasant and impeccably dressed Gentleman. He seems to have his staff well selected and trained for fine dinning.

We were in Boston for one night. We walked into Wolfgang's with no reservation and luckily there was a high top table available in the bar area. Dave the Bartender was amazing. He was our bartender and waiter for the evening. Dave makes a great Espresso Martini. A 10 in personality and service. The Manager Marc who visited all tables and ours to check in on customers ..... A true Gentleman! We also had the pleasure of meeting Lydia.... a class act! Now about the food! We had the oysters, lobster bisque, crab cake, Wolfgang's house salad, spinach and the Porterhouse for two. Everything was absolutely delicious. Honesty this was the best dinner we have had in a very long time and we hope to get back soon as we live in NY. Lastly we loved the ambiance. Has a very rich and comfortable vibe! Thank you to Dave, Marc, Lydia and the rest of the staff for a perfect dinner!
