Highland Park Patio Block Party Surprise Reopens After Pandemic Closure | Eater LA

"I note that Wolfie’s, a vegan hot chicken spot that briefly occupied Block Party’s former space, has moved down the York block to the Put Me In Coach address (formerly Hinterhof) and that a reopening in the new space is expected soon." - Farley Elliott

Google
Great little gym down in Noblesville Indiana. Great for a date night or an anniversary? It was pretty hopping when I was there. Definitely going to revisit 😋😋😋❤️💯

Google
One of our go-to spots. Food is a little pricey for some portion sizes, BUT you will not leave disappointed. The menu has options for all different kinds of taste buds, they recently added pizzas to their menu and they are PHENOMENAL. The food is always top tier and if for some reason it’s not, the friendly staff will make it right. 10/10 would recommend.

Google
I ordered a burger online . I ordered it without onion straws and started eating it and found o ion straws on my burger. Quite frequently they mess up our orders. It’s clear the kitchen doesn’t read their tickets and the host/expo doesn’t check the orders before they go out. Not going to tip on credit card anymore and need to check the order before leaving the restaurant.

Google
Wolfie's packs the house with live music that echoes Morse Reservoir. What a jammin, bootie shaking good time popping to the music. Excellent atmosphere, bomb diggity servers with schwag. The many different beers on tap were so drained, mostly just HEAD left in the lines. Ask the cute red head server outside who declares the lines are so empty, mostly just HEAD is left🤣 What can you say, Wolfie's delivers in more ways than one.👅💋👅🙃

Google
One of the better restaurants with outdoor seating in the north Indy area. Lots of waterfront places like this serve overpriced bar food but we were surprised at the quality of the meal and prices were quite reasonable. Great view from the deck. Will definitely come back!

Had another great birthday dinner…great food and great service…and a really good band after.

Google
Can't say enough here. Stopped in twice while traveling for work. Thats rare in itself. First (night of travel) salmon was amazing with the glazed brussel sprouts. It was late, close to closing time, still delicious and fresh. 2nd was rush and the sirloin tacos impressed. Go see Dillon, helpful and a true bartender.

Google
Wolfies Bar & Grill Noblesville is always a win! My steak was cooked perfectly, and the Boom Boom Cauliflower (my go-to app) was amazing as always. The upstairs “Broken Barrel” bourbon bar has a calm, relaxing vibe — the perfect place to unwind. Our server, Al, was outstanding: knowledgeable, pleasant, and attentive. As a Customer Experience Specialist, I can say talent like his is rare, and I hope Wolfies leadership rewards him. He is the reason I left this review.

Yelp
We love sitting out on the patio at wolfie's. The lake view can't be beat. The servers are always attentive and great. The Nyla's Wedge and chicken were delicious and we'd order again!

Yelp
The phone unfortunately didn't eat first, but for a good reason! We started with their Boom Boom Cauliflower, which has more of a kick then I remember - but it's always a 10/10! Everyone loved their food - I had the Philly Cheesesteak, which i've had plenty of times here. It was hot, delicious, and full of flavor. Other meals at our table included the Tenderloin, 2 Pan Crusted Chicken meals (per my recommendation), and Fish & Chips! Service was quick and our service had a trainee who did great. We had a great view of the lake and they made accommodations fitting 5 of us at a nice table in the bar! Love Wolfies and can't wait to spend another summer on the patio.

Yelp
My wife's FAVORITE place. Went this evening. Perfect weather, Best table on the deck. Nate was right on top of everything. Pan crusted Parmesan chicken with broccoli and potatoes was their special. Perfect. Almost ordered two more meals to go because it was cooked to perfection. They have several things I like and this was a first. I will pick it again next time.

Yelp
We are new to the area and this establishment. I read about the owners 30 years in restaurant biz in a local publication and they even wrote a book about it! So thought we'd give them a try. We were a party of two who dined indoors as it is 94 degrees today at 3pm. I ordered the Fish (cod, three pcs) & Chips with upgrade to onion rings (only 6 pcs) and coleslaw. The other party ordered the pork cutlet sandwich & fries. Issues: 1.) For a knife & fork meal I don't care to have it served on "meat/parchment paper" over a plate...very off putting. Use a plate w/o the paper ... the paper gets greasy or damp from ketchup tears and then you get to pick paper out of your fork/bite. Sloppy sloppy lowbrow presentation. 2.) Then there were the flys we had to keep sushing away from the food. Beyond disgusting! 3.) Fish, was fried well, oil was hot enough to crisp properly and not too greasy. Good portion amount compared to Slap Fish. Coleslaw was room temperature :( with a mayo based "blah" tasting dressing. Felt like they took it off someone else's plate who did not eat it and recycled it to me. The second attempt was sightly cool. But it had an odd stingy taste to it and I could not eat it. I would not order coleslaw there again. Heavy and warm odd tasting mayo is not enjoyable. BTW the tartar sauce was warm too. I don't eat tarar sauce ever, but be forewarned. 4.) Pork cutlet and fries were "fine". He would order them again. Server was excellent! No issues there. Nice place to take guests for the view & drinks and that is about all I can say for this place. Prices on many items were higher vs the menu on their internet page which I checked before we went there today. The owners have several other types of restaurants in the area and based on this visit.....we won't be trying them. Over all, I don't think we'll be back. I am very disappointed in these owners. It costs too much to eat out anymore and then not enjoy your meal and have to fight off the flys on top of it is not acceptable. If I could give a negative star it would be " -***".

Yelp
Great place to go! Food is great along with the Bloody Mary! Service always great, they is someone to greet you at the door with a smile! Food is priced good! The view of the lake is great!

Yelp
Love Wolfies! The food is always good and very satisfying. Try the pecan crusted chicken salad. Just delicious ! And their seafood chowder is thick and delicious !
google avatar

Yelp
Dinner on the deck. Who cares about the heat. Ahi tuna as a starter was tasty. Fries hot, fresh. Excellent dipping into Nyla's blue cheese dressing. I opted for the Blue Pecan Chop salad. Fresh with kale, sliced Brussels Sprouts, candied pecans, blue cheese crumbles, and dried cranberries. Added grilled salmon. A delicious meal with an excellent portion. My sister had her usual pecan chicken salad but switched protein to salmon. There are no pics of the salads, as we dug right in. We grew up in this area and enjoyed catching up at this location. The server was attentive and kept our waters filled on this hot evening. The food arrived at a great pace, as well. I'm glad to see Wolfies is still successful over the years.

Yelp
First time here and I showed up during the dinner rush. The hostess, who was super nice, informed me of the bar upstairs where it was a little quieter and you could order food. I went ip stairs and sat at the bar. The bartender Tristan and his helper, didn't catch her name, were very friendly and attentive. They both gave outstanding recommendations. I had the steak tacos, cream corn and wedge salad. They were all delicious. Each one of them had a taste I had not experienced before. Oh yah and the VIEW! Great place all around. We will def be back

Yelp
Wolfies is one of out go-tos for enjoying the weather out on the patio. Everything on the menu is great! I'm always trying something new and always enjoy what I get. Great atmosphere, great food, great service!
google avatar

Jalyn M.

Yelp
Love coming here for their outdoor seating and occasional live music. The restaurant is right next to the water so it is perfect for a nice lunch or dinner. My favorite thing to order is the pecan chicken salad. Yes, I know a salad.. but it's so good!

Scott M.

Yelp
Serious Safety Concerns Ignored I understand Indiana weather is unpredictable, but that doesn't excuse a total lack of safety procedures during a tornado warning. We were seated outside when sirens began and severe weather hit. Chairs were blowing across the patio, my son slipped on the wet surface, and not once did staff offer to move us inside--despite us asking multiple times earlier what would happen if the weather turned bad. We had to chase down staff for boxes and our check while trying to get to safety. What's worse, the manager himself had started taking down umbrellas before the sirens even went off--clearly aware of the approaching weather. Yet no action was taken to protect or relocate guests. When I brought this to the manager's attention, his response was, "Well, you wanted to sit out there, didn't you?" That kind of attitude is unacceptable. It's clear the priority was continuing service and profits--not the safety of guests. This was handled poorly and unprofessionally. I sincerely hope this place rethinks its policies before someone gets seriously hurt. Let me know if you'd like to post this somewhere specific--I can help adjust tone or length as needed.

Scott M.

Yelp
Always friendly service. Work well with food allergies. Nice menu choices with something for everyone. Several great locations when heading to events in NE Indy.

Yelp
We enjoyed a wonderful meal with friends at Wolfie's on Saturday evening. They do not take reservations, and we had a party of 6, so we met there at 5pm. We got right in--got one of the large booths to the left as you come in. It was the perfect amount of room for 3 couples. The service was excellent. Attentive without pressure. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and meals. We shared and really enjoyed the pretzel breadsticks with cheese sauce and the steak quesadillas. Both were excellent! My husband had the tenderloin sandwich with baked beans. I had the mango Thai mahi mahi. Both were delicious. Thanks for the great evening out!

Haylee R.

Yelp
Service was more interested in his phone than actually servicing the table. Had to wait to order then had to wait to get cold food then had to wait to order dessert then had to wait to be served a cookie that was hard as a rock was 2/10 (couldn't enjoy eating it), fried cheese cake that was chewie not crispy (as frying anything would suggest) 3/10 because flavor was there. the blueberry butter cake was 7/10 and molten lava cake was good 5/10. I ordered the mango Thai mahi mahi fish was cooked beautifully however the seasoning over powered the fish had a few nibbles where I could actually taste the fish the mango chutney Was worse than basic or atleast lacked that pow that would normally complement a regularly seasoned fish (hard to say). My wife got a deconstructed smokehouse pork nachos that was decent overall seasoned well enough but its pulled pork nachos kinda hard to mess up something you smoke and throw barbecue on. And if all that waiting wasn't enough had to wait on getting the bill then had to wait again to pay the bill. Long story short plan to be there for 2hrs and most of that being because your waiter won't get off his phone and actual go earn tips Atmosphere has a nice overlook to the water and interior was well decorated (little odd in construction of the interior of the building) there are Flys that are gonna bug you wether inside or out. Overall the hype is just hype because it's near water in the middle of Indiana. This place lacks work ethic and a chefs taste.

Yelp
It's been a long time that I've been to Wolfies since the last time I was there it wasn't great. So, I decided to give it another shot. It was 2 adults and 2 teens we decided to go family style and order a few plates to share. Food Choices were 1 French Onion Soup, 1 Chicken Tortilla Soup, Wolfies Fries, Boom Boom Cauliflower, Pan Crusted Chicken w/ French fries and Broccoli, Chicken Fried Chicken with gravy and Mashed potatoes, Wolfies Mac and Cheese. Let's start with the Soups. They were both served in crocks and both room temperature at best. FOS tasted like they throw beef stock in a bowl and added bread bites and cheese. The chicken Tortilla Soup was again room temperature at best and the only way I can describe this is doctored up tomato sauce with beans. It was literally disgusting and couldn't past just tasting it once. We told the server and she apologized. Ok well the soup was a bust let's move on. Out comes the entrees... buckle up let's start this ride. Pan Crusted Chicken looked like someone stepped on it with a shoe, took the chicken the thicken of a piece of loose leaf paper and added breading. I can't even tell you if there was chicken inside the breading it was soooo thin. The broccoli?? Who can mess up broccoli// it tasted like smell of dirt (if that makes sense) The Chicken Fried Chicken was decent but served room temp. Boom Boom Cauliflower.. it was SOAKED in sauce it was unedible. French Fries were so salty couldn't get the past it. EVERYTHING was served room temp it was literally disgusting. Here's the problem I used to be a server so I hate to complain. Last time I complained about food was Chili's Logansport like 6 yrs ago. However I was so disappointed and disgusted with this food I had to say something. The manager was a straight joke. The only thing she did as we were explaining our experience was look at our food to see how much we ate to charge us . I know the game, she of course offered to remake the food. Lady, not one of us had an appetite anymore.. no we don't want even want this food in front of us let alone make more. The manager comes back to the table. She says she took the soups off the bill, the buttered noodles and halfed the rest of the meals. If I was her i would have charged us for drinks or just comp the entire bill. Our bill we were left with $45. I will NEVER go back or recommend this place to my worst enemy. Wolfies Noblesville is a disappointment with food experience. The waitress did the best she could with what she was dealt with. It's not her fault the cooks can't cook and the manager didn't give 2 craps about our experience.

Yelp
Great outdoor seating on the water. Their tomato soup was amazing! Quick service and wasn't too crowded for an afternoon fall day.
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
Great lunch. Super nice bartender. We wanted so many things couldn't decide so ordered them all gorgeous view of the lake and seeing all the boats come in was a+

Anatoly S.

Yelp
Worst ribs of my life. Dry. Tasteless. Forget pulling them apart, a butter knife couldn't cut through them. Dry and not rendered. Terrible sauce too. Should be taken off the menu as a courtesy to the world.
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
Stopped here on a nice day and sat outside on their patio back by the water. The view and outdoor seating was the main reason we picked the location and both definitely lived up to the hype. The service was solid. We were one of only people sitting outside but they didn't seem to forget about us any. We were super hungry so we only got wings, fries and soup. The wings were a little dry but they were pretty good. The soup was really good and perfect for a little breezy day and the fries were pretty good, as well. Overall, it was definitely more because of the water view than the food but it wasn't a bad experience at all.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
Staff were super helpful and our waitress was prompt and observant when our drinks needed a refill. The food is amazing! We had the quesadillas which were hot and fresh. Only recommendation I would have for guests is to probably sit inside if it's close to dusk. Towards the end of our meal, a swarm of bugs began invading the outside tables. We would definitely recommend Wolfies for a good meal with a water view.

Yelp
Had lunch at Wolfies Grill on Morse Reservoir with my golf group today. We ate outdoors on the deck overlooking the water - great views !! I got the Nyla's Black & Blue Burger - a blackened seasoned hamburger topped with home made blue cheese, bacon, shredded iceberg lettuce, red onion and tomato. I paired that with a side of soy glazed brussel sprouts. The burger was juicy and flavorful and the brussel sprouts were amazing. All in all it was a wonderful day with friends.
google avatar

Randy C.

Yelp
Food and service here is excellent at this location. The view of the reservoir is very relaxing. we plan to be back.

Morgan F.

Yelp
Ordered something to go after a long weekend shift at the hospital because I didn't feel like cooking... asked for some extra sour cream and they charged me $2 for it....!!!!! I'm sorry but you can buy a whole tub of sour cream for $4 at the store. The food is good but that is absolutely absurd.
google avatar

Diane B.

Yelp
Love the vibe on a summer night! Four of us went to dinner here on a Thursday night around 5:30. Let me tell you the patio fills up quickly! Everyone wants to be on the patio on a nice day. I can't blame them. The view is incredible and the service is great! A word to the wise, if you plan on getting an alcoholic drink, be sure to bring your license! They I.D. everyone. For food I split the Boom Boom Cauliflower and Southwest Quesadillas with my mom, my husband got the Wolfpack Patty Melt, and my dad got the Salmon Salad. Everything was fresh and delicious! We'll definitely be back!

Kizar S.

Yelp
Great place all around. Good music, good food, great view of the lake & service. I eat here everytime I come into town!

Linda R.

Yelp
Order food for carry out quite often. The food is great. Usually have no issue tipping at all but I hate it when you give them cash and they ask you if you want your change. Yes, I want my change. I will then decide what I will tip and honestly you might be hurting yourself because I may have wanted to give you more. Now when you give me back money my money but not all of it, well that's another issue all together. Don't keep my money. You totally screwed yourself out of a better tip. Sorry about ya. Improve your attitude.
google avatar

Carter U.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance on the water and cheap - but great- eats! Enjoyed a nice night with family here and would definitely go back! We were seated right away and the service was awesome!

Holly F.

Yelp
Visiting my son and his wife in Indiana. They took me to Wolfies. Busy place but great food and nice view!
google avatar

M B.

Yelp
WOW !!! I had the chicken fried chicken dinner with garlic mash potatoes and gravy. It was the best I've had in a long long time. The chicken was so tender and juicy I could cut it with a fork. All this deliciousness and the price was very reasonable. My wife ordered the soup and salad and enjoyed every bite. We were surprised the bill at the end was under $30. Now that's a good deal when inflation usually slams you with a price tag of over $50 for two. I highly recommend you try Wolfies. You'll come back again and soon.

Allen S.

Yelp
I have been going to Wolfies for years. I usually go to the Noblesville location but have also been to the Geist location. I highly recommend them. They have a great menu, the service is second to none, and great ambiance. Outdoor dining, in or near the water, is maximum ambiance!
google avatar

Tami M.

Yelp
Morgan, our server was amazing! The food was very good! Wine selections could be better.
google avatar

Becky O.

Yelp
We used to love this place but it has slipped so much. I understand that young men and women come home from college and often have summer jobs at places like this but a recent visit was evidence that some senior staff are needed. I asked the hostess if the AC was broken and the response I received was "I'm not sure." It was very very warm in there. The servers hang around the hostess stand and it just seemed odd. The food was ok at best. Burgers are safe, Cobb salad was missing Cob salad components. The food just looks sloppy. They are keeping up with the crowds but the presentation is suffering. We couldn't help feel like the food was just being slung at us. Really hope they can turn it around.
google avatar

Ralph B.

Yelp
The food here is good enough, given its location and convenience from Morse Lake. Been several times and never had a bad meal, but never had anything that I would call outstanding either. Our family usually has one of the salads. I had the Blackened Alpine Chicken salad this time. The use of the word "blackened" brings to mind some good, charred spice, rather than lightly seasoned with some mild spices which is what I had. We also really like the Pretzel Breadsticks. IF this restaurant was not on the lake, I would say drive someplace else, but location and atmosphere win out over the just okay food. Not much else at all in the area, so at Morse, go here. If not already near Morse, don't bother.

Jared B.

Yelp
Was in town for a baseball tournament at Grand park and we went to this restaurant. The food was great and the ambiance on the water / lake was spectacular! I recommend to sit outside and enjoy the view!
google avatar

CJ A.

Yelp
Started with Brussels appetizer- seasoning was delicious but most of the Brussels weren't done, very hard. Got the special, parm chkn, was ok - everything on my plate kinda tasted the same? The bar area smelled like dirty mop water? It was ok, Server would rather I just wasn't there. I feel like I hit it on a bad night, might try again.
google avatar

Rick N.

Yelp
We decided to try the Wolfie's out at Morse seeing how the one out Geist was excellent. We were not disappointed. While this resturant/bar isn't as big, it still holds up to the Wolfies name. It had been a number of years since we had been out there, and not much had changed besides the menu. While I do miss the Buffalo burger, I settled on the steak and shrimp with parm garlic sauce. It hit the spot. My wife went with the soup and salad and absolutely loved the seafood soup and Caesar salad .
google avatar

Tom H.

Yelp
Sports bar and restaurant halfway between Cicero and Noblesville. Clean, cozy and comfortable. Friendly and courteous staff. Decorated in a kind of backwoods hunting lodge theme. Good food at reasonable prices with a full bar. Multiple TVs on the walls tuned to various sports channels.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
Great service from our server George B. along with very good food and Great Lake views! And a fair price too We will definitely return

Rosemarie F.

Yelp
Went for baby back ribs, not enough sauce on them, but mainly, just absolutely no taste in the meat, like we were just eating paper. However, my shrimp and sirloin was delicious. But as we were being seated, I had to wipe off the bench in our booth, and the table top, as it was not cleaned from the prior use. I didn't want to get grease stains on my clothes.

Yelp
It was a beautiful spring day and we thought we would enjoy some outdoor dining for our anniversary. We had high hopes for Wolfies and it had been several years since we were here. The view over Morse reservoir is beautiful and getting a table for two was not a problem with the busy crowd. Order was taken easily enough and we ordered their wings for an appetizer and then half rack of ribs and my wife got the salmon and broccoli and rice. Here's where things turned for the worse. Wings came out hot and tasty but no saucers to eat them on, next thing you know our entrees arrive without our saucers for the appetizers. And when she asks if we need anything else. We make a request for the saucers and more napkins. At this point my wife realized here rice and broccoli are cool. Which is not cool. But she continues with her salmon. My ribs, fries and slaw were good. Another 10-15 minutes go by and no napkins, no saucers, and we now are due for a refill on our waters. This never happened all evening. We're both super disappointed with the whole experience at this point and are eager to get out ASAP. Check and box for leftovers still have not arrived after catching her going by our table about 10 minutes ago. So my wife just goes in herself to get the container for leftover ribs and we proceed inside to pay our bill. At this point we wished we had cash to make swifter exit. This anniversary dinner will be memorable but for all the wrong reasons. :-(

Yelp
I love the food and atmosphere but... the bugs inside are ridiculous. I understand bugs if I choose to sit outside... but it is full bugs inside too!
google avatar

Betsy N.

Yelp
The view from this restaurant is amazing!!!! We are in a large lake. The place is empty, very safe. There are many healthy choices on the menu. We are splitting the cauliflower tacos....yum!!!

Nicole H.

Yelp
Such a beautiful location but the food quality and service are always subpar. Spend your money elsewhere. If you are looking for the same ambiance with better food and service, go to the Boathouse in Cicero. I want to love Wolfie's and each year I think they will improve, but it never happens.
google avatar

Christine K.

Yelp
Great service and good food! I didn't give it five stars because I'd like to see more variety on the menu.
google avatar

Jim F.

Yelp
What a great place to get together with friends on the water. We got to the restaurant and waited out on the seating area outback. Great food at reasonable cost.
google avatar

Heidi W.

Yelp
Great view. But the food is nothing to write home about. I have been there a bunch and try to find something I really like but I am never 100% thrilled with what I eat. But I like going and sitting out on the deck. The staff is really nice. But Wolfies is always our last choice of places to eat out.
google avatar

Malak A.

Yelp
Nice choice if you are looking for an outdoor seating restaurant with beautiful view. I loved the Blue pecan chop salad, sweet and crunchy and yummy. I took off two stars because the service was slow, and our table was next to the door, which made us uncomfortable.
google avatar

Joshua K.

Yelp
Warm afternoon lured us to find a spot to eat near water. Liked the decor of the place overall, especially the bar area. Very large booths that are cozy too. Very large patio to gaze out on the water and watch boats pass by. Great fired chicken. Their sides are delicious-from fired, side salad to the max and cheese. Solid waiting staff as well.
