" Wolfie's is a counter-service vegan spot on York specializing in hot chicken, street tacos, and various bar foods. You order everything from your phone, seat yourself, and someone will bring your order out to your table. The hot chicken sandwich is perfect for vegans (or really anyone) who wants a little spice in their life. It's piled high with juicy breaded "chicken," housemade coleslaw, pickles, and garlic aioli on a soft, seeded bun. Enjoy one at a table on their quiet little front patio, which is one of the most pleasant places to hang out in the neighborhood. " - Brant Cox, Nikko Duren, Garrett Snyder, Sylvio Martins

" Wolfie’s is a 100% plant-based option in LA’s continually overcrowded hot chicken scene. While their chicken sandwiches are very good and reason enough to head to their Highland Park location, we also love hanging out in their spacious beer garden. Located right on York Blvd., the beautiful space is quiet, well-shaded, and the perfect spot to sneak in a quick pint of beer during lunch.  " - Brant Cox

" Dish: Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich Wolfie’s doesn’t just make one of the best vegan fried chicken sandwiches in LA, they also make one of the spiciest. The crunchy, juicy chicken patties are done Nashville style, and you can choose your preferred spice level on a scale from “No Spice” to “Super Spicy.” We usually go with medium or hot, because the “Super Spicy” sandwich here tastes like a flaming hot punishment. But no matter how spicy you want it, the sweet slaw, potent pickles, and chili garlic aioli will help balance things out on your sandwich. " - Nikko Duren, Kat Hong

I love plant-based meat so I’ve been really looking forward to trying Wolfies. It’s easy to miss when driving by and parking can be a little difficult in this area depending on the time of day, but the wait or walk is worth it. They have a ton of tables inside and out but today I just chose to do takeout. We chose the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, and we also got an Impossible Burger to try as well. The “chicken” was very good and really does taste almost just like real chicken. The impossible burger was also great although Monty’s is still my all-time favorite. I would definitely recommend to any fan of plant-based food or honestly anyone willing to try something new. It’s hard to see how anyone would not like any of these dishes. I plan to be back in the future.

The Seoul chicken sandwich with extra pickles is delicious! They have different levels of spiciness and you can fully customize your sandwich/burger. (Spicy is not Mexican spicy, take that as you will.)The loaded fries is pretty much a bun-less burger on your fries, loaded indeed.

This place is really cool. We ordered the original cheeseburger and the Korean burger. Both were excellent, the taste is fantastic. They have a bar with nice beer options. I highly recommend this place to everyone, you don't have to be vegan to eat here. Trust me, you are going to love it.

This place is a dream come true as somebody who follows a vegan diet. Delicious bar-styled food with so many delicious flavors, spices, and options. 💕 I’ve had everything on the menu except for various drinks and everything’s super good (the osaka is my favorite, yum purple yam bun 💜) My pictures don’t do it justice, but the presentation is fantastic and everything is very well portioned for the price you pay for. I personally don’t think the food is overpriced one bit and even if it was, it’s worth it for how amazing everything is! I’ve only done takeout and delivery, but the inside of the place is very welcoming and chill! I really don’t get the negative reviews on here. If it’s about customer service, I highly disagree, I’ve stepped in before many times and the workers are always so attentive and super respectful. They’ve never messed up my orders either. I also understand the title of the restaurant is misleading, but it literally says everywhere that the menu is 100% plant-based/vegan. It’s silly people would deduct stars just because they didn’t know it’s plant-based, everything’s tasty anyway, who cares! Anyway, if you haven’t tried Wolfie’s yet, you should, it’s so good!!

Overall, this place is sooo good. If I’m in Highland Park, this is what I was looking forward to eating. I’ve only been here twice. Haha. My top choice has to be the Buffalo Chicken with coleslaw. My least favorite is their cheeseburger — it feels too basic, dry and bland. However, my best friend loved the cheeseburger and didn’t like the Buffalo chicken sandwich. Soo, there’s that. The hard shell tacos are seasoned so well you forget they’re vegan. The creativity of the different sandwiches just work well. The reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because of the fries. 🥲 The first time, they were incredible — had I done my review then, 5 stars. The second time, they were stale. We asked the lady behind the counter if we can have new ones, she grabbed them, threw them in the trash and said that’s what happens when you order take out 🤨. New ones came out and they were still stale but extremely hot. Hahah. The interaction must’ve rubbed me the wrong way because the fries were still terrible. What a disappointment in fries and customer service. I will be returning. 😅😂😂

Delicious! Not being a vegan myself I could not tell the difference. The Memphis Chicken was tasty and my friends said the same about the Seoul and Nashville sandwiches. The shoestring fries yummy. The "froze"was so good. I enjoyed it and will return! Met the owner at the Pallidium what a super nice guy and the staff was just as nice.

We ventured to Wolfie’s after our vegan BFF wanted something to eat and as meat eaters we were like “why not, let’s try it”. The concept, design, and vibes were creative and inviting. The bar just opened on the other side and it was nothing short of classic LA hipster vibes, super cute. The hybrid brick and mortar store front with the food truck is truly unique. On to the food. The menu is limited but well done. We ordered the Nashville “chicken” sandwich and the double cheese burger with an elote (pictures below). All were very very good!! My two major critiques about this establishment are as follows. 1) The excessive use of single use containers and “compostable” utensils is appalling (they are compostable in industrial settings and aren’t always treated as such, therefore these will probably not actually biodegrade depending on how your municipality treats garbage). The only thing on our table that not was able to be thrown in the garbage was the glass water pitcher and the table itself. There is no reason why our entire dining set up needs or should be able to be thrown in the trash. It just seems like a rather large oversight for a modern restaurant. Likewise, our drinks and cups of water were also served in SMALL plastic cups. I felt so bad constantly asking wait staff for water, hence the pitcher. 2) Related to the first. Our drinks were swiftly delivered to our table and to our chagrin, we were served a child’s size drink. A whiskey sour was both priced like a trendy music festival and served in a laughably small plastic cup just to add insult to injury. Now, did that take away from the quality of the drink? Slightly, but the bartenders were incredibly skilled and the drink was very well crafted. It was just shocking to see such a tiny sized drink! If you want an actual adult sized beverage just order a beer, at least you could get it in a can or glass. PS if you ask for any spicy chili powder/ rub they will serve you BLACK PEPPER! I almost spit out my drink when the waiter brought it to the table. I guess black pepper is “spicy” now, it made for a good laugh. Overall: plating aside, the quality of food and flavor was good/ excellent TL:DR excessive use of singe use plastic served with tiny drinks… food, flavor, and hospitality were fantastic!

This place has really gone down hill in the last few months and it's very disappointing. It used to be my favorite. But the strips have gotten smaller and more greasy. The texture is dry and dense -not in a good way. The fries- which weren't good to begin with- taste old and stale and they too have gotten worse! I order online and pick up my meal- and sometimes the box is "soft" like they've been sitting there for a while, like maybe they prepack the meal and keep them warm to be able to keep up with demand? I've ordered at different times, thinking maybe there will be a difference - And when I open the box, 50% of the time the order is wrong. Wrong side or wrong spicy level etc.... One time there was a strip that looked like it had been bitten. Today's order- has the funkiest taste. I'm praying..... And in the place of slaw- the MOST unappetizing looking fries OF MY WHOLE LIFE- they were moist and oily and yet, strangely cold. Now, the management is always quick to "fix" the problem.... But how many times does there have to be a problem? This place used to be great. It used to be worth the pricetag. Now, it's just bleh. And I'm not picky- I just want to get a good quality meal for my hard earned money. How very sad. I'm really really hoping they turn it around. At least get the orders right and make quality food again.
