Google
Biggest ice skating rink in NYC with iconic central park and skyscraper backdrop. Beautiful little igloo for private gatherings and great selection of light bites that can be upgraded to a more sophisticated menu.

Google
Great venue for a dance party! The sound was great, the lighting was incredible, all highlighting the incredible talent on the stage

Google
Queue was very long on christmas day but they handled the visitors very quickly. The quality of the ice is not so good and neither the skates are, but still the system overall is really efficient and well-managed. I had great time here.

Google
We had a great time ice skating in the Wollman Rink! Very beautiful scenery and the staff was very friendly. I like that you can spend as long as you would like there and are not restricted to only an hour like at Bryant Park rink. We were able to get free tickets through the public library and we had our own skates so the only thing we paid for was the locker for our shoes and bags.

Google
I highly recommend to come earlier than 2pm. Also make sure to buy tickets online because the line for tickets is huge!! Other than that, I definitely had a great time skating at this park with my kids. The views are stunning! The food inside is delicious, but they ask for the vaccine and PCR test so make sure to bring that with you :)🌇💫

Google
Ice skating in Times Square was a bucket list thing for us to do as a family and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We arrived for the first session and met with the team and General Manager, all super friendly and attentive. As we arrived early we had to wait 10 minutes and then went into get our skates. Skating with the views of New York is a must

Visiting during the holidays? Make sure you plan ahead and bring your patience - you'll need it. This was my first time visiting this ice rink. (I attempted to get tickets for the Rockefeller Rink. One for me and partner, but people begin to book that one months in advance! It's smaller anyway.) Definitely purchase your timed tickets online and expect to wait a little bit in line EVEN if you have a timed ticket. If your ticket is for 3:00pm, I recommend being there at 2:00pm. They will have lockers once you're in there which are $7. It will be a bit difficult to find one if it's packed, so a nice young lady was kind enough to give us the heads up that she was done with hers. Use your phone for the lockers, it'll be easier. Other then that, nothing to it. It's a great time. Again, patience is key!

Google
Wonderful time for everyone. Hope the young safety staffs do their job rather than enjoying their own skating.

Yelp
Wollman Rink located in the middle of Central Park. Once you purchase your tickets you head in to get your skates. You tell them your size and you take your skates to an area indoor or outdoor with plenty of seatings to changed into your skates. Then you are off to the rink. There will be a lot of people taking off so everyone has to be patient. Most of us might be first timers. It's not cold at all and the sun might be shining directly at the rink. They might crop off a section of the rink as they are giving lessons but if you need help to get across there are skate guards around to assist you. Or you can pay extra for skate helpers.

Yelp
This is a decent rink, but a good one overall for value. It's not overly busy during weekdays (nightmare on weekends), but that's not unusual across all the rinks across the city. The food is mediocre, the skate blades need to be sharpened, but for what it's worth, it's a good place if you want your skating fix. Unlike Bryant Park (which is packed to the brim with people), this place requires you to talk into Central Park, which already limits some people who don't like walking... which there are plenty even in NYC. The rental counter is managed by folks who generally don't know how to manage skates, but once you get past that, again.. decent. If you want a place to skate, this is an okay place to just relax on the ice.

Yelp
I'm surprised at the poor ratings for this rink! As a tourist and one time skater here, I loved it! The only bad part was the kids at the skate rental counter. They're ignorant. Huge rink, doesn't feel too crowded, and compared to Bryant Park and Rockefeller this is cheaper, larger, and a better value because they don't kick you out after a certain time. You have to pay for the lockers, but you get to keep them all day.

Yelp
This rink has gone completely downhill in the last 5 years. The rates have inflated to a ridiculous amount - we went today with the intention of getting $15 NY resident tickets but they only take a specific NY city ID plus a library card and not the NY state ID (even though my city address was on it) and that is NOT made clear on the website. And on top of that, now it's $50 just to skate!!! That's ridiculous. I remember when I was paying $15 even without the city ID to skate and now the price is so inflated that I can't even afford to go anymore. Fav place is now ruined.

Yelp
Wow it's been forever since I last came here! Friends & came on a random March weekend since it was something to do. we got our tickets online & paid for the skate rental as well, this was much easier & quicker than purchasing in person. Once inside we put on our skates & enjoyed the rest of the afternoon skating. We ended up getting some drinks since it was cold out, figured a nice cocktail would help & it did, we had some Apple cider & jack! The set up for drinks is easy enough but the staff seems to be all over the place , u pay in one section come to the other, u need u don't need a band ? & ID checks again after already checking before? I mean I get it lot's of under age kids here but they should have a better system. the rink itself is nice, decent size u have the scenery of the park to look at & they play music not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of meeting Coach Russell during a company event at City Pickle, where he showcased his incredible skills as one of the pro instructors. From the moment we started our session, it was clear that Coach Russell possesses an exceptional depth of knowledge about the game. His passion for teaching and commitment to helping others truly learn and enjoy pickleball is nothing short of remarkable. What impressed me most was his ability to break down complex techniques into understandable and manageable steps. He brings a unique grace to his teaching style, creating an encouraging environment where everyone feels comfortable to learn and grow. His enthusiasm is infectious, making every lesson not just educational but also incredibly enjoyable. I am eagerly looking forward to my future lessons with Coach Russell. If you're interested in pickleball, I wholeheartedly recommend seeking out Coach Russell when you visit City Pickle at Wollman Rink. With his guidance, you'll be on your way to becoming a pro in no time! Don't miss the opportunity to learn from one of the best in the game!

Yelp
This was a terrible experience. I'll never go through Viator or Wollman again and I fully intend to leave a bad review on Google, Yelp and the BBB with the following information.... I received a call hours before my scheduled time and was informed that my reservation was bumped due to a private party. I was given an option to reschedule for an ADDITIONAL COST. Naturally I was extremely unhappy. I spent most of the first day of my vacation on the phone with Viator. I even coordinated a three way call with the skating rink and Viator. The representatives are clearly trained to inform you that everything is going to turn out fine. In reality, they could care less about their customers, as this was an easy fix. All they had to do was cover the difference in price after realizing that Wollman intentionally dropped my reservation to accommodate the private party.

Yelp
The view and atmosphere in general make up most of the stars in this 4 star ranking. It's a neat concept. However.... - Compared to a wood skating rink, this plastic floor is pretty difficult to skate on. - They force you to wear wrist guards, and they are gross and old and feel gross. - Their waiver is difficult to access and you have to sign it online, on your own device, you cannot sign it on paper in person. - There were a lot of little kids and they don't follow conventional rules of skating in a rink (like everyone going in the same directions). It's really hard to just relax and enjoy skating around the rink when there are 6 year olds coming the wrong way towards you or across the rink. - Hours on website were not accurate.

Yelp
We had the best time here today, despite the abnormal 80 degree weather. My nephew got to learn some skills from the staff members. The team here at Wollman Rink is so patient and encouraging. My nephew already wants to come back. And some trouble with the lockers but the staff was quick to help us.

Yelp
This was a fun event and the views were obviously amazing, but it did have a lot of downsides. The skates were incredibly dull, making it almost impossible to do an actual stop. They also only offer figure skates for rentals. I wish you had an option between those and hockey skates. In addition to the terrible skates, the rink was PACKED, made even worse by the fact that they had roughly half of it blocked off for lessons in the middle of a Saturday, which makes no sense. Finally, it was really hard to find a locker because there were so many people there. I don't understand the point of booking a time if patrons aren't required to adhere to it. I think it's fun to experience at least once, but don't think I'll be going back.

Tara B.

Yelp
3.5 A great arena, but overly-crowded on our trip during Thanksgiving weekend. The biggest issue was regarding the kid skaters with skating supports (like walkers, but for ice)...extra hazard with such a large group of skaters. Also, the ice-skates need to be serviced for their lack of length on laces...out of our large group of 11, there were quite a few of us who had issues.

Yelp
4.5 / 5.0 - I love Wollman Rink, which has the most spectacular views of Central Park and iconic buildings nearby, like the Plaza Hotel. If price is not a concern, this would be my top recommendation for ice skating in NYC. Compared to Bryant Park, the rink is larger so it doesn't feel as packed. And Wollman Rink also doesn't have all of ice hockey skaters that Bryant Park has, so the ice is much smoother. You can also take photos, which I'm on board with as long as people don't stop right in the middle of the rink or skating path. But unlike Bryant Park or Glide at Brooklyn Bridge Park, Wollman Rink does not have free skating for NYC residents, even if you bring your own skates. (see additional info below) And you need to pay for lockers, too--lockers are free at the other two if you bring your own lock. Nevertheless, if you enjoy ice skating, Wollman Rink is definitely worth experiencing. For NYC residents: * There is an option for free entry, if you book through Cultural Pass NYC. You can only book once a year, though, and you still have to pay for skate rentals if you don't have your own. * The other option is WRAP (Wollman Rink Access Program), which is $15 including entry, skates and cocoa, if you have idNYC or a NY Public Library card. This is walk-in only during public skating hours.

S B.

Yelp
The skates were incredibly dull. We were just skidding along and the skates wouldn't grab the ice. You also have to pay $25 to rent a skate aid for little kids but then you have to stand guard over them or else someone will snatch it. At least put numbers on them so you can identify the one that was yours if somebody does.

Yelp
So, I came here for ice skating. Fun experience. It's super crowded, though. I get it, it's Central Park. I feel like they could do a little better with crowd control and maintaining flows of traffic. You can buy tickets at the gate, but they also have options to buy tickets for a specific time slot online. I personally found it too crowded and kinda felt unsafe because basically you have a bunch of amateurs (me included) basically fending for their lives. Basically, I was just in sheer survival mode and also trying to dodge like a hundred other people. A critique not so much of the rink itself, but I think they should have a no phones policy. So many people were just standing there taking pictures, taking up space trying to get a picture. I get it, you want it for the gram. But it disrupts the flow of traffic and again, you have bunch of amateurs just trying to survive, the last thing I need to dodge is someone's tik tok. They have storage lockers, but it all seems QR code based. I am sure they have some other access/payment method but just FYI for those who don't have a smartphone or one that doesn't work that well. Oh, also check the ice paving schedule on line. It's silly because you can book your ticket at the exact same time they are paving. Just FYI for those more on a time crunch and want to optimize on-the-ice time.

Yelp
If you have a NYPL library card, take advantage of the WRAP program ice skating deal. Admission is waived so you only pay for $14 skate rentals (unless you have) and you also get a free hot chocolate! You pay for tickets in a booth that's uphill the rink. You will get a wristband and a ticket for staff members to scan. The ticket was not timed, so it looked like you can skate until closing if you wanted to! Head indoors where you sign a wavier and get your skates. Note the lockers are NOT free! The skates are terrible. They are worn, with no arch support, and mine in particular had laces that were too short to tie a full loop. Luckily, the rink made up for it. I was mainly looking down in fear than basking in the beauty of the city skyline, but I enjoyed it the few times I looked up. The ice was also not as slippery as other rinks', so I'd say this is beginner friendly! I'm not sure when they call in someone to refresh the ice, but we didn't need to leave for the 2 hour time we spent. There's a cafe indoors, right by the lockers. That is where we grabbed the hot chocolate. No words are needed, as they simply scan your ticket! If you're looking for a NYC skating experience, Wollman is far but a good pick for an outdoor scenery!

Yelp
Late post! Attended the Vegan Night out at this spot and let me tell you, it was nice. Different vendors with different cuisines from New York City. Dishes from Mexico to the Dominican Republic to Jamaica and Ghana just to mention a few. Not all were impressive and the ones who were, stood out and deserve a shoutout! We started off with a Taco spot, that overcharged us for using credit cards & when questioned why it was sneakily done, gave a lame excuse why. (Pinche Vegana). Overpriced tacos & overrated everything. We moved on to an Indian vegan spot (Patake) and the food was amazingly good & satisfying. It was a potato crumble dish. Next stop was the Ghanaian spot ( Gracey's Culinary Specialties) & the Ghana Jollof & veggies were so good & delicious. The spices, aroma & everything was just right. We stopped by the Dominican spot (Healthy as a Motha) & boy! Thank goodness we didn't miss out on them. The Empanadas were yummy & delicious. Flavor, flavor, flavor was bursting at the last 3 spots. We weren't overcharged & they didn't sneak any extra charges like the taco spot. We topped by a chocolate vendor & he gave us mini samples to taste. The chocolate was nice & melted in your mouth. It was an after work outing for us and we had a nice time. Pictures & videos below!

Yelp
While skating in Central Park always looks idyllic in movies, in real life, coming here can actually feel like a circus since it felt like the operations/staff were extremely disorganized. The rink is fairly large compared to other rinks in the city, and it can get very crowded around the holidays. Some tips to make your visit more enjoyable: - **Your reservation time doesn't guarantee you'll actually enter at that time** Come here early. Probably like 30min-1hr before your reservation time, especially if you have a late time slot. You'll still have to wait in line, which that day wrapped around the park and was almost 100+ people long. It took about an hour to wait in line from entering the line to actually being able to skate on the rink. -Locker Rentals. Most people don't hit 'end rental' once they're done using lockers, so towards the end of the day, it's almost impossible to find an empty locker, without the staff being able to manually 'unlock' each one. You can scan a QR code to rent one. -Fill out your waiver beforehand. They'll need to check it before you enter the building which connects to the rink. There's bathrooms and a small snack/drink stand inside. Overall, glad I got the experience once, however this place needs a serious overhaul in how it can operate more efficiently.

Yelp
Good experience. Arrived 10:30-10:40am on the Thursday before Christmas. Peak pricing ($34 each + $11 skates) per person plus $7 locker. Used the kiosk for tickets on the back side of the box office and saved 10 mins waiting in line. Virtually no line to get in or to get skates, but by the time we got our skates on the Zamboni was resurfacing the ice which took 30 minutes until 11:30. My rented skates were super uncomfortable, but that's typical for ice skating and I barely know how to skate so the pain is partially my technique. We skated an hour then decided it was time to leave when the Zamboni needed to resurface the ice again. If you want to skate during peak periods get here early. There's so much less waiting time. When we left there was a line to the entry door to get skates which was probably a 15-20 min wait. We were here at 12:30 the day prior and the wait to get in was backed up past the box office so we decided to come back earlier the next day and try again. That was the right call.

Yelp
I came here for roller skating in the summer for the 7:30 session. It took about 30-40 minutes to line up, get a locker, and change to skates. It is overpriced if you're not living in the city. You get a great discount with your NYC ID or city library card ($20 for entry to the 7:30 time slot and cheaper for earlier times). The lockers are also $7 and skate rentals are $10. The ambiance was great, disco themed, and it looked great in photos with the nostalgic and current day pop music from the DJ, disco balls, and glowing wheels in the crowd. The staff and check in was messy. It seemed understaffed since the lady checking our tickets and giving us wristbands was really distracted. She didn't even scan my phone and claimed she did when I never got to show her my phone and kindly mentioned it to her, and she gave my friend 2 wristbands, one on each hand... It seemed like she got my friend and I mixed up when scanning tickets on the phone but I was wearing blue and she was wearing pink but I digress... As long as you have a wristband you're good. The check in took longer than expected and took away from our 2 hours of skating. We skated approximately 1 and a half hours, and I have seen concert venue lines that go down quicker.

Yelp
I have never skated here even after living in NYC for so many years so I thought I would check it out. I purposely waited until January to come since I wanted to avoid the crowded holiday season. The rink itself is large compared to other outdoor ice rinks in Manhattan (South Street Seaport, Brookfield Place, Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, etc). The place seemed disorganized and the staff were not helpful. I always bring my own skates so I don't know about the rentals. However, the ice is not well maintained even though I went when it opened at 10am. I only skated about an hour and left. I would not come back since there's better rinks in NYC. If you want to go to a really good skating rink, I recommend City Ice Pavilion in Long Island City.

Yelp
Came here a few days before Christmas. It was a hot mess. It was filthy dirty all over the floor with trash everywhere. We already had pre bought our tickets and rental tickets. We already did the waiver ahead of time as well so we went up to the counter before you go in and were asking what to do the one girl said to go ahead and go in but we saw the guy with wristbands so we asked again luckily we did because we needed those wristbands. They were cleaning the ice when we got there this took about 30 minutes then about 5-10 mins after the workers skated all on it before they let anyone in this seemed silly as they just cleaned the ice. The workers are not there to supervise or assist anyone that's for sure they all either stood in one area in the back of the ice talking to one each other or had friends that came up and skated with them. There were several wreck-less skaters that looked to be their friends and we even saw one knock down an older lady on the ice. Families and children were trying to enjoy their experience and when people were skating like that people cannot enjoy themselves. Glad we tried it for the experience but would not be back as the ice got messed up quickly with the wreck-less skaters.

Yelp
Walking through Central Park, I hear disco music so I had to find out where it was and came across the Wollman Rink. As a spectator I only watched as the roller skaters were enjoying themselves to some great music. There is an outdoor casual restaurant as well. The views are fantastic. Just another great thing to do in NYC.

Yelp
Great winter Saturday morning activity - crowded with families at this time already, but overall fun. Do note that the kids skating aid costs $25 with a half hour limit in addition to entry and skating fees.

Natasha A.

Yelp
awful time at Wollman rink, we had tickets to reserve our time then we are told we still have to wait on this massive line to enter that took another 45 mins , all to get inside and wait another 15 for skates then only skated 20 mins because they had to clean the ice that was going to take 30 minutes they said!!!!!! A waste of 200 dollars , we had to leave to make our show What a scam!!!!!

Ekaterina N.

Yelp
I went ice-skating to Wollman's rink on Saturday, December 23rd at 3:30 pm. The quality of ice was horrible! I stepped on the ice right after resurfacing at 4:00 pm and the ice looked liked it has never been resurfaced. It had multiple cracks and was dangerous to skate on. But what was the most dangerous is the amount of people the rink management allowed to skate at the same time. There were probably more than 100 people trying to skate (many of them not even knowing how to skate) in a rink space which is not designed for that amount of people and people were falling on the ice from right and left. It was super dangerous to be on the ice. I am not sure why the organisers sell the tickets for the specific time frame but then allow everyone to skate (and during holidays these are enormous crowds!) or keep the ice in not pristine condition. But both are every dangerous and should not be happening. I left the ice after 10 minutes of trying to "skate" in above conditions and requested a full refund! Please do not go to this rink and pay outrageous $37 to skate - not worth the money, it's a dangerous scam! Hate to say it but when Trump Organizations was in charge the ice was in perfect condition always!

Yelp
Fun but we went on right after they did the Zamboni and it still was so so hard to skate on the ice. I think the fact that there are so many people also makes it so difficult but it was really pretty

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday evening for the DiscOasis Summer Rollerskating experience & it did not disappoint! On now through Oct. 1st! :) Food/Drinks: 2/5 Drinks are available to purchase off to the side of the rink. It was a bit inconvenient to get to and had limited seating. After making our way over there, we got two small cans of wine that tasted awful. Granted I personally like sweet wine and it was pretty dry. Regardless, definitely was giving rooftop bar prices for a small can of wine. We had drinks mid-skate during the performances and weren't tipsy but I definitely wouldn't recommend going ham on drinks and then skating tipsy LOL! Already hard enough to do sober! Service: 5/5 Employees and security are so kind and welcoming! Top tier service! You will have to check in and go through security. I had pepper spray in my bag and they held it at the desk until the end of the night and I got it back. I actually almost forgot it and once of the security guards reminded me as I was leaving! Beyond kind and considerate! Vibe: 5/5 (honestly 11/10) My absolute favorite part of the whole experience! The vibe was IMMACULATE! Everything I imagined to be and more. I recommend going at night because the rink lights up and it feels like a legit disco experience but be prepared to wait in line. It also allows you entrance from 7:30 - 10 pm. General admission at night is $65 and skate rental is $10. Lockers are also available for $7. The rink has disco balls, neon lights, and a stage with performers dancing throughout! Every hour, a group of performers by professional skaters come to the center and do an awesome routine! Everyone looked so full with joy and energetic! The DJ was playing bangers! You'll want to sign and dance along!! There was also a dance floor near the DJ booth if you're not interested in skating as well as lawn games and lots of photo ops. I'm not being dramatic when I say this was a magical experience!

Yelp
Wollman Rink is a great place to ice skate in the Winter. Since it's in Central Park you feel the old school skating atmosphere with new facilities. I didn't skate today but the tourists are there. I enjoy watching and taking photos. Do your research before you go so you know the cost and Covid protocols. These things change. Enjoy...
google avatar

Yelp
Lots of people. I recommend to arrive 40 and more minutes before scheduled time .....

Yelp
Probably the best and largest skating rink experience in Manhattan. In the Southeast corner of Central Park lies this rink. With a background of the Manhattan skyline and in a nice outdoor setting, it's an experience to enjoy. Both locals and tourists alike come here to enjoy the day. General admission to skate at the rink is $14, and you are free to skate for an unlimited time! Locker rentals are ~$7 for the entire day, and skate rentals are a price I can't recall LOL. There is a snack bar for you to enjoy. Can't say anything about the selection since I didn't try it, but there is indoor and outdoor seating (rinkside) for you to enjoy it. I had so much fun cruising along the ice. As with all public sessions, jumps and spins are prohibited (although I did sneak in a two-foot spin, a bunny hop, and a waltz jump hehe). Perhaps if I move to the mainland (Continental US), I'll train as a recreational skater again and come here for one of the early morning private sessions!

Yelp
Didn't think that outdoor open sky ice skating at Wollman Rink could get any better but it has definitely improved since last year. They seem to have removed that weird obstruction that sectioned off part of the rink last year. The guy at the ticket booth is still rude/obnoxious, but if you buy your admission tickets online then you can avoid him. We finally bought our own pair of ice skates though so it feels like we're saving money ($10 skate rental) every time we come here to skate. Of course we still have to pay $15 admission but it's so worth it especially if you reserve the first/earliest general public skating time slot when there no crowds and the ice is smooth and fresh. Sure, you can skate for FREE at Bryant Park if you have your own skates, but comparatively that rink gets too crowded too fast, seems smaller than Wollman Rink and you only have 55 minutes of skate time. Meanwhile Wollman Rink has no time limit once you're in. You can skate as long or as little as you want. When my feet start to ache, I hobble over to the cafe, buy a cup of hot tea and snag a seat along the rink to watch the skaters. Afterwards I hop back onto the ice for more skating!

Yelp
I came here on a school trip with my students. Honestly , it's pretty cool but the food prices are outrageous so EAT before you go OR bring LOTS OF CASH.

Yelp
48 hours and no refund yet. I have had a terrible experience with my purchase of tickets to your rink and skates that I could not use. I invited my family from CT, who had a four year old besides being with my 8 year old, and when we arrived at 420 for our 445 "reservation" there was an unexpected line of 150-200 people. I was shocked, disappointed and mortified that I would encounter such a situation. we had other reservations that would not allow us to wait another two hours to enter your facility. Nowhere on your website do you advertise a line wait or suggestions for an earlier arrival being that you obviously over book your facility with no effort to avoid these circumstances. I asked that you refund me fully for my purchases...

Yelp
Got timed entry and this whole thing is a scam. Paying over a hundred dollars to wait in line for an hour to then skate on a bumpy rink that feels like you're in a right lane in bumper to bumper 6pm traffic. When you call, there are no customer representatives. The people who work here are under payed and overworked and deserve better management. It would be easy to have timed exits for especially busy days but instead they make this cash cow a horrible experience for all who are involved.

Yelp
The wife and I really enjoyed our time here. It was truly an amazing experience to be able to ice skate in Central Park surrounded by the Manhattan skyline. This was our first time in NY. As a kid growing up watching Home Alone 2, this is definitely a bucket list item! The only thing missing were the sticky bandits (iykyk). The ice skating rink opens at 10 AM. We came on a Friday and arrived at 9:45 AM and were first in line for tickets. We wanted to purchase our tickets at the entrance and take advantage of the first responder discount ($11). It cost another $11 per person for skate rental. The locker rental is $7. We skated from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. They stop and clean the ice at 11:30 AM. We knew that ahead of time and made that our stopping point since we had so much more to do with our short time in NY. The staff we interacted with when purchasing tickets and renting skates were friendly and efficient. The staff on the ice were AMAZING! They give it 100% effort when you ask them to take a picture for you. The guy even got on his knees to get the perfect angle for us. That's 5 star service right there. I highly recommend coming here for one of the best ice skating experiences you'll ever have.

Yelp
I went back on a Tuesday at 10am in hopes that I might find one day where it's not overcrowded. I had purchased my ticket online but never received it electronically. I was told by the employee at the gate to get my ticket at the box office. It was a 45 minute wait. If I didn't already buy it, I would had gone for the noon start time instead. There were more lines to get my skates and then more to get around people blocking entrance to the rink. I lost an entire hour and only skated for 23 minutes when they kicked us off at 11:23am. Most of my ice time was spend fending off unruly kids disrespecting all the rules.

Yelp
Not the best quality of ice. Very spotty and uneven. A lot of holes that make skating challenging and even dangerous for beginner skaters. The chemicals used are not good quality, and the ice melts quickly, creating puddles. Very touristy--a lot of parents with kids visiting nyc. Modern pop music playing on the speakers, which creates an uplifting mood (if you enjoy modern hits).

Yelp
We had a great time at Wollman Rink. It was a spur of the moment decision, so we didn't have reservations on a cold February day. Luckily, we didn't need them. We were able to get in right away. You see everyone from little kids learning how to skate to adults who are quite good. As I've never skated before and have two left feet, so my skating ability was of a little baby. I had trouble even standing. We ended up renting two of those skate aids meant for little kids. Stacked on top of each other it was the perfect height to give me some freedom to explore Wollman Rink away from the wall. Apparently, they only rent those skate aids to little kids, but I guess since they weren't busy they let me have two. They're quite expensive at $25 each, but it was worth it for me. We rented the skates, too. Overall, it was a great first ice skating experience. I can imagine it being a bit overwhelming during the busy season. However, our February morning experience was perfect!

Yelp
We overall had a decent time, they are disorganized and charged us more than double to get a one hour early entrance. They then made us wait in a line with 100 people in - 2x.

Yelp
One iconic place to go ice skating in the winter in NYC. Located right in the heart of central park, the views here are unparalleled for a city-nature skyline sitch. It is pricey, and you don't get to skate free with your own ice skates here (unlike at Bryant Park), but truly one of a kind.

Yelp
I tried to host an event at City Pickle at Wollman Rink however was left with a nightmare of a booking experience. There is no phone number available to contact anyone, and trying to get in touch via email and their app was next to impossible. They cancelled our reservation the night before due to a "rain out" yet it it ended up not raining at all, as such being a rash and unnecessary cancellation. Would love to eventually try out the City Pickle however horribly painful booking experience.

Yelp
We came to NY in December for one main reason, we I feel that New York Christmas spirit. Wollman Rink most assuredly added to that feeling. We planned to go over a month out and I made a reservation for Christmas morning. When we arrived the morning of the 25th, I noted on the print out I had made from the website of out reservation, that there wasn't a confirmation # attached to it. This issue come to a head as the man checking reservations as we walked up said we weren't on the list. Talking it through for a minute he walked us inside to his office and confirmed we registered properly but that the reservation didn't process. Christmas miracle, he let us in anyhow. Minutes later we were wobbling around the pond of ice in the middle of Central Park. The backdrop of skyscrapers and the holiday music playing really made it all magical. My daughter was a natural, I sorta just scratched around the ice, but we both had a fantastic time. It was a wonderful time, and hope to be back again another winter soon.

Yelp
After a lunch at bouchon bakery and bistro we decided that we would take the kids ice skating at central park. there is a rink at the north end of the park that closes at 4:30 this one is on the south end and is open late (8 or 9) cost is $6 (kids) $12 (adults) + $10 skate rental if you're not skating..observer entrance ($5) a bit pricey for skating...but you're SKATING IN CENTRAL PARK! What a view!!! pops and I kicked it and watched the kiddos glide around the rink. the rink is big... there was some nasty rain the day before so the ice wasn't is prime condition...as a result they were doing frequent zamboni runs. snack bar was reasonably priced...we didn't try anything. staff was very cliche NY ....curt and to the point. this was an amazing experience and i feel so happy that i got to watch my children skate in central park!

Yelp
You can't beat skating in Central Park in the wintertime. You've got the trees, the nearby buildings, etc. It's a great setting. Since the last time I was here 10 plus years ago, Trump has put his name on virtually everything. He's the owner so that's his right. As far as I could tell, everything else has stayed the same. The prices are insane and it is CASH ONLY which I find totally ridiculous in these times but so be it. The website--which is primitive and awful--also mentions that it is cash only but you have to scroll a ways to find it. There's an ATM on-site which, I assume, charges ridiculous fees if you must pull out cash. So bring cash. No half-sizes for skates. Weird but true. That's kind of a bummer because it is probably safer to go down a size for tighter skates than have them flopping around. My skates were strapped on so tight, I thought I lost all circulation to my feet. They did thankfully run the Zamboni fairly often so the ice was in generally good shape. Once you pay, you can stay as long as you like. The rules say no cell phones on the ice but every single skater was using their cell phone so there you go. The workers skating on the ice were extremely attentive and helpful and would zoom over whenever someone fell. That was good to see. It's still a fun place. Just bring plenty of cash.

Yelp
It's a lovely location but the rink is often crowded. They do tell you arrive about 45 minutes before your ticketed time. Take this seriously lol. The staff in the rental office/locker room is overwhelmed and unable to keep their patience at times (they're also very young and it's not their fault so be patient too!) overall, if you can go at an off peak time I think it's a lovely skating experience but if you're going when everyone has the same idea, you'll inch around the rink and not be able to have the full skating experience.

Yelp
UNSAFE OVERSOLD UNDERSTAFFED. Bring a non-skater since not enough lockers for the amount of people they let in. Your shoes will get stolen!!!

Yelp
Wollman Rink itself is an icon within Central Park that many people come to during the winter for ice skating and now during the summer roller skating. You can stand over the top and watch people skate around which is always makes for a good time people watching. Once you get inside, there are lockers to store your shoes (for a fee), two sets of bathrooms and a little eating area as well. The rink itself it a decent size but gets crowded quickly and can feel small and conjested so be ready for crowds, but it is afterall, NYC.

Yelp
Came out with my family, 5 minors included from 6-15, and this was the worst night they've ever experienced. Admission Tickets plus skates rental came up to 190$ from 9pm-10pm. They let us in at 930. KICKED us out at 10pm. But that would've been ok. Understandable, what ever. When I say they KICKED US OUT, I mean like they were almost literally three fist fights. Employees dropping F bombs left and right, with lots of children around. Employees completely disrespecting people based on their race, age, parenthood, calling absolutely everyone names. When I say AVOID this place I am not exaggerating!!! One of the animals pushed 9 year old daughter purposely so that she could move out the way. "Get of my ICE BOY" screamed at the top of his lungs one employee yelled at a man that was with his family REPEATEDLY AND AGGRESSIVELY. The man simply asked him not to call him boy... in sum and substance if you have a temper yourself AVOID this place because you will end up in jail. Or SHANKED... smh

Yelp
Worst experience ever. Poorly organized and worst staff ever. Couldn't ice skate and cant get a refund. I just lost more than a $100 USD. Biggest disappointment in NYC.
